They have a studio where you can learn how to shake it in many different ways, but you can also rent their professional belly dancers for many events. But no, guys, no bachelor parties! I often almost run over the belly dancing students as they mill around the studio, waiting for it to open. A friend of mine goes to class there every week and she loves it! But she wears a tank top, she just imagines the jiggle. And if you're willing to go and try it out, there's no way you won't be able to find this joint- there is a giant silhouette of a belly dancer painted on the side of the building.

And the main reason we wont let our child participate in recitals / parades, etc., is bc she's not that GOOD! YET!!! But recitals n stuff is a scam to just get more money out of you! But the straw that broke the camel's back is coming right off Thanksgiving they shoved a pack of raffle tickets in my face neatly wrapped with my childs name on it - I asked what if we don't want to participate in that (SCAM) the unprofessional said you have to pay $50. You already know - DECLINE!!!! Next class the coach only let my child practice a few routines. Towards the end the coach left my child standing in line waiting for her turn. The ignored my baby! Finally, my child just left and got her STICKER and belongings and we left. After I witnessed that as I watched from outside through the glass window, I decided to finish the course and w/draw my child. There is no way I will allow them to bully my child ALL bc I declined to sell or pay them $50 for some RAFFLE TICKETS!!! So this Wednesday, they paid my child no attention ! My baby got little practice and was told the training was for kids in the parade (which the coach denied saying it when I confronted her about it). But this week not only did the coach limit my child practice she wudnt even let her get a STICKER - NOPE! THE COACH TOOK THE STICKERS AND STARTED TAPPING MY CHILD ON HER HEAD WITH THEM!!!!! So no I wudnt recommend!

It's really easy to spot the location as you approach the shopping plaza from the south, and it took me less than 5 minutes to get here from I-285. The studio is nicely decorated, giving a comfy, welcoming feeling when you enter. This is in stark contrast to some studios I've gone to that are basic and drab. There is only space for one class at a time, but the floor is huge! I'm thinking there would be more than enough room for a class of 30 people. There are barres (the portable kind) for hosting ballet classes, and weights of all sizes for fitness classes. The floor is kind of slippery, so if you tend to dance barefoot a lot and have soft feet (like me - definitely slipped a couple times lol) I'd suggest to at least wear some jazz footies with a grip bottom. There is ample cubbie space to store your belongings during class. There's even a good amount of waiting room for parents if you're looking to hold a class for children. Also there is a dressing room in addition to one unisex bathroom. On my way out, I spoke to the owner who was extremely friendly and mentioned that the studio has several time slots open for rentals at the moment. Dance instructors - check this place out!

From day one Trey and Derrick have been so awesome! I was so scared at my first class but these 2 made me feel so welcome!!! They worked with everyone on techniques and never once judged you. At Power Up, they dont treat you like a number the actually call you by name and to me that speaks wonders!! They push you to succeed and motivate you to keep going! I HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone no matter what fitness level you are! Fyi- make sure you stay for the bonus butts and guts part after class!!

The classes are great because they are different every time but you still work on the same skills so you can really see an improvement. Also, the kick boxing class is appropriate for people of all fitness levels, they push you to do your best, but not in a harsh or competitive way. I'd definitely recommend this gym to anyone.

And, it got better. The facility is a bit hidden off of Collier Rd. but once you find it, there's plenty of parking. The entrance area has racks of costumes (most belly dance) that are for sale and they are gorgeous. The woman who handled me informed that they are the largest importer of belly dance costumes in the country. I got all signed up and was using an 8-class card I bought from Half Off Depot (this is an AMAZING deal - go buy one now). The nice lady gave me some info. about the Zumba class I'd be taking and then I just hung out and waited for it. While I was waiting, I perused their display of jewelry and realized that they quickly became my absolute hands-down favorite jewelry store in Atlanta. The line is called "RuePera" and it's exactly the style of jewelry I love and I may be broke if I continue to attend classes here because I may buy every piece. Showing a tremendous amount of self-restraint, I left after class with only one new bracelet. The Zumba instructor was LaWanda and she was awesome. The class was awesome and so much fun. It was my first Zumba class and I'm completely sold on it. I plan to go back for it next week but I'm also really excited about attending a HoopDance class, which uses hula hoops! I love to hula hoop. The studio where the classes are is very large, with a nice dance floor and mirrors, and it appears to be capable of being set up as a performance space, as well... I think they rent it out for parties, too. In general, their whole facility is very large, and it's really nice. The people here are super nice and they offer a lot of different classes, pretty much all on evenings and weekends. This is definitely one of my favorite dance/fitness facilities I have discovered so far. I'll definitely be back!

I had to update this because of my last experience. I came here as a drop in for the hula hoop…read moredance class. The instructor was great, and the class was fun. However, I found out that the front desk has been overcharging people... and I believe it because when I asked how much the class was he hemmed and hawed, looked at me for a while, and then finally gave me a price. There should be nothing to think about, it costs what it costs. I'd hate to go elsewhere because I like the instructors here, but I have to say with my overall experience, I'd rather keep looking for a place to shed my sweat.
