This is a very good place. They are kind to ppl. So kind it feels like a nice church. My life has improved since I started taking classes. I dont know what the future holds for me dancing. However for the foreseeable future this is a healthy place for me to be. The teachers are really good. Its also nice to see people come out of their shells. I have never seen such a safe emotional environment. Its so pleasant that its humbling. When you see all the trophies on the shelves you see it did not come from cracking a whip, but from loving guidance and direction (which may include some whip cracking but they whip you gently so you welcome it). I have never seen so many healthy ppl in my life. The men and women at Dance 411 have redefined humanity for me. While there are different personalities there is a cohesion among the ppl running the place that is really noteworthy. I wanted to check them out before bringing my kid. Now my child has started and Im addicted to going. When I saw how much my social skills improved I wanted the same for my child. Ill go as long as she is happy going. And if she stops I may still go :) Its that pleasant. Oh and they are good! Ladies dont be afraid to let your sons or significant others come here. These ppl athletes the flow is not nightclub. Its a very healthy environment for men because since all the men view you as a potential partner they treat you like you might work together someday. I hve never been in an environment that nurtured my masculinity in a healthy way. And in our society its challenging to mingle with people closely. The environment provides a safe platform to learn about human behavior and in turn have more fun being a human. You will hear popular dance classics like ciara, Classical, Jazz, and the trappiest hiphop all in one place. I have learned to hear new types of music. My emotional IQ is skyrocketing which is helping me to advance at work. I feel like I listen to music in four dimensions now. Since I started I cant stop listening to music. Its kind of a problem. Like I need to do other things. But Everything feels new. Some music that sounded like noise to me sounds amazing because they are teaching me to listen. Good place. I am learning a lot. Had so much fun with Nutcracker in her "Put a Ring in On It" class. I was a little concerned when I was told by others in my group that we would be taking a "twerking" class (*insert eye roll and disgusted face*) Fortunately, it ended up being more like 'Black Burlesque' than Amateur Night at Magic City. The class was much more risque than ratchet, and it was a hell of a workout. I was also grateful that they put our group in a private room... although I was definitely wondering what was on the other side of that two way mirror in the back of the room. After assuming stage names, we practiced our sexy struts, isolations (the basics of "making it clap", if you will), chair dances, and just overall getting our 'sexy' on... whatever that happened to mean. The music was high energy, and Nutcracker was more than happy to accommodate the group's request for an all-Beyonce playlist. She also read the room often to make sure that we were all comfortable, safe, and having fun. There were other classes going on while we were there, including a hip-hop class that we watched while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. Those dancers were GOOD! HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS. They have refused to answer me on any social media or via email when I requested to cancel my membership after the COVID-19 crisis. They are outright IGNORING me. They've since charged me 2 months since I've requested a cancellation of my membership. I've contacted them on Twitter, their help desk, and every email I can find. I understand that small businesses are struggling during this time, but so are your customers. At a charge of $120/mo, refusing to cancel someone's membership is outright unethical and horrible business practice. I'm not rich and I'm having to support my unemployed family right now so I'm really really angry at Dance 411 and their unethical practices with their customers. DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP WITH THIS COMPANY!!! As the other reviews state on this google profile, Dance 411 is extremely unorganized and will TRAP you into a membership as soon as you sign your name! They trapped me into a membership, refused to cancel, sent my account to collections and hit my credit. I am writing this so no one else will have to suffer like I did. Here is how they do it: When you sign up for a membership, you can do so online or at the studio. I personally applied online and all of my paperwork was done online. So, naturally I can cancel online- right? Wrong. Once you are a member and would like to cancel, they tell you that you CANNOT cancel over the phone/email and that you absolutely HAVE to come in. That's how they get you, because they KNOW people have lives and can't just show up to the studio whenever. For instance, I moved away for work the beginning of 2017. I told the finance account manager, Ngina, that I could not come in and sign for I lived miles away and would have to pay hundreds of dollars to fly in and sign a sheet of paper. Ngina told me that there was NOTHING she could do and that I HAD to come in or else the membership will remain. I spent over $300 to fly into Atlanta and personally sign this form. But the scam is not over ladies and gentleman! When you come in to sign the cancellation form, in FINE PRINT the form says that THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BILL YOU FOR NOT 1 MORE MONTH, BUT 2 MORE MONTHS, AFTER CANCELLATION. So even after you cancel your membership you still have to pay for the next 2 months. ( Pic posted below) Good luck getting in contact with them because they NEVER answer the phone. Just to test them, I called 411 everyday twice a day for a week and they answered the phone ONCE. The best part is- when I showed up to the studio they told me that I COULD have just signed the paperwork and emailed it back. I told them that Ngima specifically told me that I could not and they said "Yeah, sorry. We just changed the policy." Like what?! Really?! This is a SCAM. I repeat - S.C.A.M. Do not sign your name over or else they will rob you of your money for months and keep you locked into a contract. Go to AREA, Dance 101, or Groove 2 Musik Studios instead. Dance 411 will screw you over and do you dirty. Plus most of the teachers that teach at 411 teach at the studios I mentioned above as well. Visited this place because one of my friends wanted to do a Girls Night Twerk and Heels class. (Don't judge us!) LOL! I heard good things about this place. We had to pay in advance on Eventbrite. I was a bit taken aback because the class was $30. In my opinion, that is a bit pricey for one class when other studios offer it for $15-20. However, my friend wanted to do it ... so I obliged. The parking lot was small and getting into the lot coming from the opposite direction could be difficult depending on the time of day. We were greeted by very friendly staffers. There was only us in the class. However, it wasn't very well put together. The instructor was great. My review is not a reflection of her ability at all. There were a few technical difficulties. The speakers went out which caused a delay and the class did not start on time. Instead of the class being about 75 minutes, it was probably realistically about 55-60 minutes. We had a good time though. The class was definitely a great workout. I was sore for days after. read more

Dance 411 is an awesome dance studio! They have a wide variety of dance classes at convenient times that will fit into the bossiest, busiest woman's schedule. The staff is friendly and professional. The instructors are knowledgeable and professional dancers. The studio is clean. There is usually enough parking, but occasionally it fills and you have to park next door. I find their pricing to be reasonable. I love attending class at Dance 411. It's so much fun! You will definitely work up a good sweat, which is totally the point! This was sooo much fun! I took a sexy dance/twerking (I know right?) class with friends and we had a ball. The class was reasonably priced ($25 for an hour), the class size was small and intimate (about 10) and the instructor was fantastic. Sexy dancing is hard work and a serious workout...I have to give it up to those employed in the exotic dance industry because all that dippin' and shakin' gave me sore thighs the next morning! Whether you're looking to be silly and have fun with friends OR improve skills for your next job interview (HA!) this is a great place to go. They also offer lap dance classes on Friday nights. I found Dance411 on Groupon with their ladies night out special. I had a few ladies purchase and register. The registration was pretty simple and fast. The cost was extremely reasonable. When arriving, you will find that parking is limited. So, it's best to come early. The front desk did say there is parking down the street if the lot is full. Checking in was a breeze. There is a small restroom. So my friends had to wait about 10 minutes to get into the restroom. When class started, the instructor guided us to a small studio. The problem with this is we had a full class. There was not enough room to move. I was constantly avoiding butts in my face and feet coming my way. The instructor started by having us make up sexy names and walk across the room in pairs. My friend and myself were very shy so this was quite overwhelming. I've been to beginner dance/fitness classes before and typically we all learned the moves together and there's no focus on one person. There was a point when she told the class to freestyle for about 10 minutes. This was a complete waste of time. Some students just sat in the corner after the first half of the class. I think this class could use better execution & preparation. It was fun but could be better. read more

I am still in pain from the step aerobics class I took here 3 days ago. The instructor laid it on good, with lots of high energy moves at a rapid pace: I've always felt like I was semi-coordinated but I felt so clumsy in this class. Luckily he took the time to break it down for us for a bit before ramping things back up to a cardio pace. Then, at the "end" of class we did an ab workout that, quite literally, has me in stitches. I bought the coupon via Half Off Depot and brought it in to my first class (after making a reservation) and they looked at me as if I was crazy. After a bit of time they got everything sorted out and i was good to go, but there was a bit of chaos at the front desk when I first arrived. Luckily everyone was super nice and eventually situated, although my class started about 10 minutes late. I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying out more classes, although all of the impressive-looking dancers around the studio definitely made me nervous. Oh, and yes, the parking does suck. You can park next door at the Supreme Fish Delight, which is nice because after a workout class you don't want to be tempted by the smell of *good* food. read more

This is a perfect place for a girls night! My friends and I used the Groupon deal for the Ladies Night Out Pole and Lap class. This was my second time going and the classes always sell out. We had a lot of fun and so did our group. We started off with choosing our class names which helps breaks the ice and eases the mood. Our instructor led us into a beginner pole and chair routine. The class lasted a little over a hour and we had about 10 minutes of free time to dance and take pictures. It's all about having fun and making the most of it. Took her drop in beginners class with my friend while visiting Atlanta. This was the other highlight of my brief visit (see Therapy on Briarwood for the other). She is funny, firm, clear, personable... I teach in a public school system and have done so for over a decade throughout the country. As a rule, you can know your content inside and out but without good delivery your PhD is useless. Enter Divinity. She knows how to teach. She has a clear before, during, and after (my fellow educators know what I mean) and she makes it seem so easy and effortless that you at least want to give it a good try. She could be on stage doing comedy or broadway. She's good!!! The hour flies by, you get OUT of your comfort zone and are better for it. Note to the "pro-polers" in the BEGINNER'S class with their alcohol spritzing although no cooch, honeypot, etc. touched the pole: GET OVER YOURSELVES. You laid down on the unsanitized floor. Spritz it ALL or just support your pole sisters by NOT pretending there are CDC level viruses transmitted through the hands. Extra much? I would return if I were in the area. read more

This place appears to be a money guzzler. I was simply trying to hire a child dancer for a kids birthday party. I was passed around several times and when I finally reached someone who claimed to be over the kids program, I was given a bizarre and unrealistic stipulation that included paying $150+ for a 10 minute performance for a child. I was clear about my budget and was told that someone would get back with me. I never heard back from anyone. As much as this school charge for lessons, I can't imagine why any parent would turn away a paid performance that not only included a small stipend for the child, but a generous gas card for the parent. I've since learned that the info never went out. Heads up parents. While its good to get professional training for your child, you need to be sure that your child as EVERY avenue for quality exposure. A dance school is a great liaison to garnering experience but in the case of Dance 411, I think they're seeking to capitalize on their students in many ways possible. Not only does this hurt the students, but it limits the possibilities to maintain growth and expansion in the arts. This was a very bad experience and one that I won't soon forget. read more

Dance 411 is da bomb! I took traditional dance classes from age 8 to 18: ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop, and whenever I hear music in everyday life situations (in the car, in the club, in someone's house) it's almost a given I will start rocking out. So lately, to branch out, I started giving dance classes like pole dancing, lap dancing, strip tease and the like a try. And DAMN is it fun! It's so much fun!! When a Groupon came along for Dance 411 offering lap dance, pole dance and other "Ladies Liberation" classes for a steal - I snapped it up. Upon entering for my first class, I could tell this was gonna be an interesting experience. Bottom line: I was the only white girl in the class (and possibly in the whole studio). Now don't misunderstand me - this is great for me - black girls can move and shake and teach white girls a whole new kind of sexy moving we don't normally do (unless you're a professional stripper and pole dancer, of course). ;) I have no shame embracing my inner diva and sex kitten, and in a class where the instructor's telling us to get it on, do the stripper strut, pop and lock and drop it it was SO easy to feel comfortable trying out these moves! You may look a little ridiculous the first time you try a sexy hip roll, but watching yourself in the full length mirror and asking her to break it down again is no problem. And when everyone's enjoying themselves as much as they are, it's impossible not to have a good time and get your inner bad girl on. Every class I left with a few more tricks up my sleeve to whip out when no one's expecting it. And even if I never do break them out outside of the studio, I know I can do a few pretty cool hip wiggles and booty shakes for my own amusement and satisfaction. Just being armed with that knowledge automatically makes me feel sexier. Just give it a try - trust me, you'll have a ball! read more

Great instructors! Terrible administration! I've taken class with some great instructors, however I have been disappointed with the level of organization at this studio. Get it together 411. I know there is an issue with limited space but don't push a class that is know for being full in the smallest room. It was hot even with the a/c and very unsafe. The instructor shouldn't have to minimize the intensity of the class because of failure to communicate. I had a blast! Bought the Groupon for about $14, attended the "Twerking in heels" class on a Friday at 9pm. I highly suggest getting there early to avoid a hassle with parking. Registration was easy. Our instructor was "Danger" or "Dangerous" can quite remember her name but she was amazing! There were a few shy people in the class but they participated. Ok so I went to the drop in beginners pole dance class and it was ok..my instructor name was "nutcracker" and I liked that she made everybody get pole names..but I feel The class wasn't much of a work out as I wanted..and I don't like sharing poles..they said they will b starting a pole fit class soon and it should intense but I'll c..Im considering doing a dance class tho because it looks more of an intense work out read more

I am a person who is taking both the Ladies Liberation and the Series Pole classes: Dance 411 has some excellent instructors. You can get instruction from beginner to advanced in hip hop, pole dancing, sensual dancing, zumba, etc. Kids also have a great opportunity with the classes available to them. (The kids I have met have been super happy about their classes). Advantages: Wide selection of classes. Classes are fun and you definitely work up a sweat. This is especially true for Polerina, which is an exercise class designed to increase flexibility and strength for your pole classes. Disco Pole is one of my favorite classes because you have so much fun and are exhausted by the end of the class. Some people have reviewed this negatively due to having to share a pole. In the Ladies Liberation classes, you may have to share a pole with one other person, but not always. (Beginner drop-ins usually you do). Even though this occurs, I promise, you get your work out. The instructors are about empowerment and feeling the groove of the music. The staff is friendly and create a sense of family. They are always doing what they can to get your needs taken care of. Classes are in the evening, when I as an adult with a job, can attend. Disadvantages: There are parking issues, but not even 20 yards away is a whole other parking lot free for Dance 411. Its a quick walk away, on a sidewalk literally a chicken sausage stand and a moneygram place away. Seriously. It is not a problem. There are 5 love seats and 7 ottoman cushions each that can fit 2 people. In addition there are two tables with two seats at each. When a major kid class is about to happen, it can get crowded. But never so much that someone won't let you sit down. The cost is a bit high and piece meal which is my only real complaint. For Ladies Liberation, its $60 a month. This only includes sensual classes(Lap dance, pole dance, Pole Fitness, Sassy Shakes and Polerina). This does not include any of the pole dance drop in's which I think it should. And it does not include Zumba, which I think it should. And if you want to really learn what you are doing on the pole, there are series classes which start at 120 and go up to 200 if you don't get a special. Its for 8 weeks, one hour of dance class and three hour practice session a week. This is not a bad deal, but super cost prohibitive if you want to also have the Ladies Lib membership. At the end there is a show which you can choose to participate in. read more

I am so disappointed in this establishment. I really tried to make it work but this business just did not work out in my favor. First, parking is terrible. Secondly, the schedule is inconsistent. I needed classes only on monday and tuesday between the hours of 3-7. THey only offered one Zumba class on monday and nothing between 3-7 on Tuesday, even though the printed schedule that was given to me said otherwise. Lastly, they NEVER pick up the phone. I really enjoy the classes and the instructors but there are a couple of things that can be improved. First, I took a variety of the pole classes and I don't really see a difference in any of them....the pole fit, disco pole, and contemporary pole classes are all the same. I won't go to beginner drop in...not because I'm a pro because I'm not, it's because those classes are usually really big. I also think with the exception of the drop in classes, there should be caps on the number of people that can sign up. They make you pre-register on line but it seems like if anyone walks in and pays for the class they are admitted. I think drop ins should be reserved for drop ins and a cap should be on the number of people because there are a limited number of poles. Finally, the 10 minute no admittance policy is never enforced. People walk in the class 20 and 30 minutes late sometimes. The instructors are so nice that they will help the latecomers get up to speed but it is not fair to the people who came on time. Overall, the quality of class and instruction is superior. Everyone is nice but I think administratively the studio can be ran a bit better. read more

My granddaughters (Alexis and Ariel Ayers) belong to Dance 411 Sudio. I have seen many videos on their performances and I have followed them from the very first day they started until now and their form and technique have vastly improved by leaps and bounds. I live in California and due to Health reasons I have not been able to travel to see them in person. Therefore, my daughter (Anne Marie) sends me videos, plus when my granddaughters come to California they put on a show and dance for us. The ladies of Dance411 are down to earth woman who just get the job done. They are focused on the craft itself. Not a lot of fluff, just work it, work, and work it.....and GOODNIGHT ;) The location is a simple studio and again it gets the job done (clean bathroom was a plus). The studio has plenty of foot traffic and clients throughout the evening so one should feel a bit safe. I'm a woman who goes solo every week. Plenty of lighting in the parking lot and cameras. There is always a class coming or going so it's good to be able to walk out with someone. One of the better pole/dance/fitness studio's in ATL. CONS Parking is limited because the studio is popping all week. They run multiple classes and it is wise to get there earlier than your scheduled class for parking options. Love it!!! Dance 411 is an absolutely great studio. This is the only studio I know that has a thriving kids and adult dance program. We are built for the professional dance crowd, but still cater to the "newbies". If you have kids, try out the summer camp program. The coordinator is awesome. Each week is themed and the kids have a performance at the end of each week, it is just so cute. The instructors seem very nice and well kept. If you want to try something different from your regular work out, you should come to one of the pole dancing classes. They have series with different levels that allows you to advance and become a professional pole dancer. They are now offering the series for 10 weeks instead of 8 weeks, super awesome! Even thought the parking is crazy, there are plenty of places to park around the studio. It's best to get there at least 30 mins early. :) read more

Here's the 411 on Dance 411 (bwahahah): this place is unique but a bit of a mess. I and a few of my girlfriends bought 4-class Groupon's to be used for their "Ladies Liberation" series, which includes pole-dancing, lap-dancing, and a few other classes designed to allow womenfolk to release their inner strippers. The studio also offers kids and other adult classes in ballet, hip hop, salsa, African dance, and more. First thing to be aware of is that parking S-U-C-K-S here - their parking lot is TINY and during high-volume time periods (i.e. when classes are releasing/getting started) it morphs into the seventh circle of hell. Apparently Dance 411 has permission to use the parking lots of some of the neighboring businesses on Moreland, but I didn't learn this until my most recent visit, when they finally stationed someone outside to direct drivers out of the over-full lot. Incidentally, every single time I have visited at least one a-hole has decided to park wherever he/she feels like it, never mind that it's blocking someone else in. The staff literally have to march into the various classes and ask these buttheads to come out and move their cars. Who does that?? Second thing to note is that they have NO changing facility other than the (small) restroom - I usually go to dance/exercise classes straight from work, and here I have to wait for a spare stall (there are two) to change in. A little odd for a dance studio. The first time I visited I screwed up - you have to reserve your spot in class online (I'm used to Dance 101 where you just sign in when you arrive) and when I and my girlfriends arrived, the lap dance class we wanted to attend was already full. The front-desk staff was completely overwhelmed and apparently their online reservation system was screwed up because a LOT of women were arriving thinking they had reservations when their names were not on the list. After waiting to see if their might be any cancellations or no-shows, we eventually decided to head into a contemporary jazz class instead. Total disaster. No warm-up. Acoustics in the classroom made it virtually impossible to hear the instructor. And though it was supposedly a beginner-level class, and I actually have a decent bit of dance experience, I got left in the dust 16 beats into the choreography. After five minutes of looking like complete idiots, we high-tailed it outta there. The still-overwhelmed front-desk staff did not refund our money (we paid separately for the class since it wasn't included in our Groupon package) but did give us a free pass to take another class at a later date. Our next visit went much more smoothly. We registered in advance for the drop-in pole dancing class, strapped on some stilettos, and headed into a studio that had been outfitted with @12 stripper poles. So. Much. FUN. The instructor was amazing and upbeat. Everyone was there to have a good time. And let me tell you - that pole shit is not easy. I definitely got a workout! I eventually made it to the lapdance class as well - also very enjoyable, although the instructor at times seemed a bit more interested in entertaining herself than in teaching the class. Still, I learned some, ahem, *interesting* moves that will certainly entertain my gentleman friend should I ever work up the courage to show them off. One other thing that may ease your mind - the "Ladies Liberation" classes are limited to women only, NO spectators (so don't show up asking to observe a class), and the studio pulls curtains covering all the windows so there are no gawkers staring in. This is a very tricky review for me to give. The dancers at Dance 411 are unbelievable - hands down. With that said, I would only recommend going to Dance 411 if you are a trained, advanced dancer. I went to Intro Hip Hop and it was SO HARD. I felt like I was in a Chris Brown music video audition the entire class! Everyone else was very advanced, and it was definitely not a class for beginners. With that said, if you are an experienced dancer, you will fit right in. It's a great place, but only for the right level of student. read more

What a great time I had! I attended class with none other than my leasing agent at the time who suggested this place...So we took the Go-Go Stiletto's class.. which is basically dress how you want.. come prepared to dance.. but.. you guessed it.. wear your stiletto's/high heels.. etc... I've never really attended a dance class before... and especially one that didn't teach you the art of a lap dance.. but it was fun.. a little intimidating and uncomfortable at times ( i mean your shakin' your stuff in front of strangers) but fun... Disclaimer: This review is only for the Kids Dance Summer Camp Program. I've taken adult classes at Dance 411 and enjoyed them very much! My two children just completed a week-long summer camp program here at Dance 411. My issues with the program were the following: 1. It seems to be run by young teenagers. 2. It was advertised to be both a dance and acting camp. My daughter's main reason for wanting to go was acting, and there was NO acting class included! 3. Apparently, there had been an issue between my eight year old son and another boy that went on the entire week. I wasn't told about it until FRIDAY, IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE KIDS PERFORMED THEIR END OF THE WEEK SHOW FOR THE PARENTS! It was literally two minutes before this performance when one of the camp instructors chose to pull both me and my child aside and tell me about this issue. My son was in tears right before his performance! The whole situation could have been handled completely differently. The camp instructors clearly needed to be more vigilant so they would have been aware of this situation and so I could have addressed it from the beginning! 4. The check-out process on the last day of camp was unorganized. They had all the kids wait in one room and all parents wait in a long line while one person was at the check-out table with the sign-in/out forms. I suggest that they divide the kids up based on the age groups (how they do anyway during the camp), and have at least 2 people with each group assisting with the check-out process. Overall, I commend Dance 411 for growing so much and for it's success, however, there is much room for improvement when it comes to the Kids Dance programs. read more
