Delicious wood fired pizza! I love that you can split the pizza in half so you can try two different kinds. I called in an order for pick up and it was ready within 15 minutes, that's unheard of! I absolutely love this place. We went during the summertime so obviously it's gonna be a little less busy during the school year because it's on campus corner. When we sat down at the bar with fast service. The drink menu was huge and I had no idea what to get so I asked the bartender and she made something up for me. She made a raspberry club special and it was very good. We got the fries as an appetizer in those were amazing. Unfortunately the pasta machine was broken so instead, we just got two pizzas to share and they were both very good. I absolutely love Volare and will definitely be back. read more

Best pizza I've ever had! We had the margarita pizza and the crack fries. The fries weren't as good as I thought they would be, but the pizza was incredible. Dropped in on a Thursday evening. Immediate seating was available for the four of us. We had a spicy pizza (Calabrian), Mount Vesuvius pasta dish, caprese salad, and a cheeseburger. All dishes were good - the pizza was quite spicy! Caprese had cherry tomatoes though -- would have been better with a different tomato. Cheeseburger and fries were okay - burger seemed like a frozen food service patty - brioche bun was nice though. Fries were good - could have been a bit crispier for my taste. Mount Vesuvius was well received. Pasta with cheese and pizza crust on top - very creative. Service was generally okay - although I did have to go to the bar for refill my water. The salad I ordered (pic from the website) vs the salad I got. Pretty disappointed. Tasteless, chicken was dry, goat cheese was a fried ball on the side of the salad, like WTH? I will say my visit here started out rough and I almost walked out. Went on a Friday. Called while we were trying to park as it's game weekend for OU so much of the parking is blocked off or taken. Before we paid to park we wanted to make sure it wasn't a long wait. We were told there would be no wait. We parked and walked in within 3 minutes. When we walk in we are told it would be an hour wait for a table downstairs. We were told we could go upstairs to the 3rd floor and try there. We went up and it says to wait to be seated. We felt like we were ignored for a couple minutes and were about to walk out when we were finally approached to be seated. They were busy so I understand, but just some sort of "we will be with you in a minute" would have been nice. We sat on the couch with a small table. After that we had a great experience. The Jalapeño Spinach Dip was good and not too spicy. I had the Suprema and it was flavorful and a lot bigger than I anticipated. Wife got the Truffle Shuffle and she really liked it. Crust had a nice chew on each and the toppings were fresh. One pizza can easily be shared by 2 or even 3 if you are light eaters. We took plenty home. The atmosphere was great on a weekday night, everyone on staff was very friendly and the menu looked good with some "gluten friendly" and vegetarian options as well. I could see this being a great place for an intimate date on a weeknight or a fun experience on a game day, but the food and drinks really underwhelmed me. We started with a drink and the crack fries, without parmesan. The fries were pretty good, except they were very thinly sliced and about halfway down the basket, we were just left with hard pieces and crumbs. I had a mojito and it was refreshing, but it felt like it was practically non-alcoholic. I had another cocktail and it was the same way, very, very light. On to the pizza. I ordered the vegan arugula pizza because, well, it was the only vegan option. Based on the description, it could have been great. When the pizza came out, it looked like a pizza with a ton of arugula thrown on top and a random shake or two of nutritional yeast. When the slices were lifted up, all of the ingredients just slid off the pizza. I struggled to take a bite with the toppings partially intact. There wasn't much sauce, there was no cheese and even the ingredients that were hidden under the arugula were sparse. We're talking like one strip of eggplant, a couple of small mushrooms and yeah. Vegan doesn't have to be boring and I just didn't quite know what they tried to do with this pizza. The dough was good, but it was put together very poorly. I do want to reiterate, the atmosphere here was great. Our waitress was very friendly. I just can't see myself coming back since they only have one vegan pizza option that was very underwhelming and the drinks were far too light for my liking. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the authenticity and service at Volare! We walked in on a Monday night to almost no one else there. We were seated on the mezzanine on the big blue couches. How cool that they have ottomans with game controllers and Mario cart on a massive tv?! They have some really cool drink specials. I had some kind of $2 Irish shot special and it was actually really good. Tasted like honey with an OJ? Chaser? I'm not sure what the chaser was but I actually could have had many more of those. I had a Sicilian mule and it was pretty good. There was a little too much alcohol in some of the drinks. We ordered a variety of appetizers: fries, fried ravioli, chicken, spinach dip... I really loved the spinach dip, ravioli, and I would have loved the chicken if we had gotten enough, but it was only 3 tenders. That's kind of a rip off. Our variety of pizzas all looked delicious! I was doing a canvassing event when I was starving to death and stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. The bathroom is the only weird thing and I was directed to the third floor? Super cute, super updated and modern. They said at the bar and the bartender was an awesome waiter. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered me a couple of suggestions of their favorites. I tried the meatball appetizers and oh lawd, they were deliCious!!! I got two huge meatballs in a dish with just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese! Such good flavor!!! I aLso got a side salad with free range chicken. Came here for a graduation party. My wife & I do not drink Alcohol. This place does not offer any NA products beer or wine. Yes there are soft drinks & water. Upon asking the manager about it she could not have been any ruder. It just shows this place is not keeping up with trends. There are 100's of NA beer in the market now. Sunday slow night in Norman. Volare was not crowded at all. We sat at the bar but in hindsight wish we had gone up to the mezzanine. Definitely too cold for the rooftop. Bar service was adequate and they seemed to have a good selection of draft beer and wine by the glass. We ordered small Luna salads which were quite good, perhaps a bit too heavy on the dressing but nothing major. The goat cheese fritter was outstanding and made the salad. For the pizza, we went with the Bee Sting. I loved the slight honey drizzle along with the spicy peppers. Really good combo. The only reason this review isn't a fiver is that the bartender did not offer plates for our pizza and he was a little inattentive. Came on a Saturday night after an OU commencement ceremony for a graduation after party. We started out on the mezzanine around 9-ish. The food was served buffet style, and refills were pretty slow; most of the dishes that were in trays were kept at a consistent level of heat, but the pizzas had been sitting out for a while and were lukewarm at best. The shishito peppers were good, and the meatballs were fine, but the pizza was limp and uninspiring. There wasn't very much room in the portion of the mezzanine that had been rented out for a party of our size, so we had to keep shuffling around so other people could eat and talk with one another. At around ten the bass music started pouring out on the first floor so it was difficult to speak without shouting. The furniture was comfortable, though, and the rooftop bar was nice. read more

I hate to give three stars, I wish I could give more because this place has huge potential. The atmosphere is perfect, the service was great, however none of the food we tried was very good (The Wilson, Ricky Ricotta, Ricotta be Kiddin Me, poppers, and Cesar salad). The appetizer was the best part of the meal by far. I would order the $9 popper appetizer again. But the pizza, let's just say it's close to the bottom ranking of all the pizzas I've had in my lifetime. Crust seemingly undercooked (definitely a fork eating style pizza - if you pick it up, all the toppings AND the sauce slide right off) and very thin. The sauce was decent, seemed like regular tomato sauce. They make their mozzarella in house, and it's actually not bad at all. I think the combination of their mediocre sauce and bad crust just made the whole experience not really worth our near $50 tab. Great environment for a diverse crowd. Has an elegant and personal atmosphere inside as well as a rooftop bar/dining area with a more casual feel and excellent view of the city and college campus. Food is top notch and literally cooked to perfection every single time. They have unique dishes without being "over the top". Only disappointment I've experienced with their food is when they replaced the bread slices for tortilla chips with their jalapeño popper dip. Service is excellent all around. I decided to visit Volare for the first time. As soon as I walked in you could tell the AC was probably not working as it was extremely hot. Upon being seated, we were informed by our server that they only had one style of pizza available and salads, that was it. No appetizers, no pasta (which is the only reason I came) and no desserts. Extremely disappointing for a Thursday dinner! I am a diner who will order an app, entree, and dessert as I want to experience the whole restaurant. What can you do when you get a badly prepared dish? Many things were off about my old favorite pasta, but the highlight was that my pasta had oil and grease up to the rim of the bowl it was served in. Over half an inch remained once I moved the pasta to a plate. Well, reach out to the manager. What do you do when the manager not only doesn't comp the dish she does not even come by? Instead she tells the waitress to tell us that "it is supposed to be that way." But we've had the dish before and back in those days it was tasty and well dressed. Why would a manager put the young waitress in a position to confront a customer when it is her job to address grievances. Of course, like others have noted, Volare has been erratic in service and quality, but now I'm pretty sure it's simply because they have a bad manager. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Sitting on the 5th floor balcony patio was the best! Amazing views and we were lucky to have a slight breeze on the night we dined. Volare has been on my radar since I learned they have a wood fire pizza oven imported from Italy. The food (except cannoli) was everything I had hoped it would be. The burrata salad alone was worth the trip. Oh! And the Nutella filled donuts were to die for. Crazy delicious! A stop at Volare is absolutely in order if your in Norman.
