I've been coming here off and on for 20+ years, it's always been pretty decent. The drinks are relatively expensive IMO, the food is OK. Recently I waited 15+ minutes to order a drink, and there were maybe 20 people in the entire bar. this very much feels like a regulars bar. i went in by myself to have a drink on a saturday night around 6pm, it wasn't that busy and seemed like they were setting up for an event/big group. one woman at the bar took my order and started making my drink, i was expecting her to card me since i rarely don't get carded but she didn't. i'm not sure if they have a regular problem with minors coming in trying to get served but another lady came over to me before the first lady gave me my drink and asked if i'd been carded. the question itself wasn't the problem, it was the manner of which she asked it. she made me feel uncomfortable and i immediately did not feel welcome anymore. i wasn't asked if i wanted a short or tall drink, was given short and at that point i didn't feel comfortable asking them to make it a tall. that being said, i didn't even enjoy my drink and drank it as fast as possible to get out of there. they had a couple of pool tables and it seemed like a chill dive bar to hang at with friends, unfortunately i didn't have that experience. read more

What a fun place! We were tired after a long day on the motorcycle and I didn't feel like cooking. It was 7:40 and most places we checked out were closing at 8:00, even though it was a Saturday. My sweet brother had given me a gift certificate for Vogie's back in 2023 (Yeah I know. We don't get out much.) and we decided to give it a try as it's open late. We lucked out (spring break?) and they still had prime rib, which is usually only available on Friday. Trust me, this is the deal of the century! $25 for an enormous slab of beef (rare like we like it) and all the fixins, or $40 for two!!! Baked potato with all the toppings, texas toast and a green salad. Score! Major leftovers. And the lovely servers/bartenders were so nice and helpful! They honored my old gift certificate and were so gracious about it. Sadly we were tired so didn't get to stay for karaoke but some people were starting in and a few were dancing. Vibe was super friendly, accepting and fun. Pool is free or so I heard. Not a player so confirm this for yourself. They've also got some fun events during the week. Check it out. Usually come here on nights for a beer and some fun with friends. A group of us decided to come for breakfast because we noticed on their food sign outside they had this French toast coated in cinnamon, oats, and cornflakes. Never heard of that before! It was so delicious!! Crispy and had the perfect amount of cinnamon. We also got a make your own omelet that was super good too. Vogies Bar just recently reopened, so Ron and I went there for lunch. After my last burger meal at Carl's Jr., which was tasteless, what a treat to have a great burger. We were met at the front entrance by the very nice server who gave gave us menus, but we already knew we wanted: cheeseburgers with everything and that's what we got. The cheeseburgers were brought to our table and were so yummy. Besides the obvious cheeseburger on a bun (being perfectly cooked), it was stacked high with lettuce and tomatoes and, there were onions and dill pickles and all the great condiments.. We pretty much devoured the cheeseburgers, using a lot of napkins along the way and made a mess of ourselved. It's so nice to eat in a restaurant again and have such beautifully prepared food. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I recommend this place and it's food without hesitation. read more

Really great tacos! And cheap tacos! For crunchy traditional style anyways. 2 for $2.75 ($1.50 on Thursdays). Almost everything on menu is under $10 (stay away from the cheap pizza). Big burgers, crunchy hot fries. Happy hour is 2-6 every day. HH discount on domestics only whether on tap or bottle @$2.75? No food specials. All the time 16-oz tall boys $2.50, shots for $5. I've tried the place 3 times ago, and I've only seen one bartender. She's good whether busy or slow, even when she's the cook too. Kitchen open all night, which is nice. Though just Sysco deep fried options when it's too late/ busy. read more

I'm passed. So we go to this bar which is in our neighborhood. We are like 50% tippers. We have had pretty good service. 2 times now we have been disrespected at this bar. And we won't be dropping anymore money in this place without an apology. One of the best burgers I've ever had! The staff was so nice even though overcrowded. The place seemed nice and clean for a dive bar. We went during a car show yesterday and they were so busy but really, it took us an hour and a few? Not unreasonable for dinner at all. We got great drinks, chips, cheese and homemade salsa. Yummy! Hubs had a nice fresh dinner salad. I had the perfectly cooked juicy hamburger with crunchy shoestring fries. Hubby got the same perfect burger but piled with thick bacon and cheese with golden tots. Our friends loved the fish and chips, chef salad Reuben and patty melt. There was just one guy in the kitchen and he did a fantastic job. Oh yeah, and the prices were crazy low! I had recently heard about a place in Gladstone that served excellent, but cheap, prime rib dinners on Friday and Saturday so one Saturday morning I ventured out to find this elusive spot. I actually drove past it twice before I finally stopped. There is a really cool old fashioned looking gas station across the street that caught my eye the first time through. Then I noticed Happy Rock Coffee Roasters on the other side of the street the second time past. It didn't help that I had no idea the name of the place nor the fact that the building is about as non-descript as a 1950's post office. Once inside the place looks like a typical tavern/sports pub. I chose a seat away from the bar and ordered one of the build-your-own omelettes (taco meat, pepper jack, sour cream). Everything was excellent! The price was also right at $6.50. The only odd thing was the waitress put the cream in my coffee before she brought it to me. On a later visit (the steak and eggs are awesome too!) I discovered that they keep the industrial sized French Vanilla Creamer behind the bar. As another reviewer noted, the wait staff was awesome and very friendly. She told me the best time to get there on a Friday or Saturday for the Prime Rib special...$8.00 for one or $11.95 for two. Then she told me about Bingo Mondays and various other specials. I can't wait to get back here to try their meatloaf dinner and Halibut fish and chips. The only real drawback to the place is the lack of outdoor lighting but what do you expect from a bar? read more

There food is amazing they have bowling, golfing, pin ball, pool and karaoke on Saturday nights open mic on Tuesday, taco Thursday and Mac and cheese Monday there cooks are amazing and there bartenders are great to. Longtime patron and normally love love love this "hole in the wall, community feel good, great food and drink relaxing time spot" but what in all that's good? The jute box this evening was horrific. If you want to listen to the N word ,F word, lyrics about anal intercourse then by all means come to Vogies. I sincerely hope the owners reconsider what they allow for selections of music choice. If a change is made I would welcome a message letting me know and would gladly revisit. But until then this longtime Gladstone mom will not spend my money at an establishment that isn't relaxing promotes hate speech and sexual assault in music lyrics. Also the bartender who sang along to the music was an added disappointment. If I could I would rate this place less than 1 star, the drinks are terrible and the food is mediocre at best. It took about a half an hour just to order a water. The staff was unprofessional and don't notice customers that come in , too busy talking ABOUT people. I do not want to be in a place where people are getting disrespected for no reason. After dining there all year, I can honestly say I'll never go back. The Chef is now the manager/dictator and he is violent! My story is so simple but unfortunately long I'd have to explain the whole night. My wife and I know the Chef. We always order his steak combo. I paid a $70.00 meal tab and gave him a $20 bill as a thank you. We decided to stick around and play pool for a while. The Chef actually gave me $3.00 in quarters because I had no cash left. A couple came in, shared our table and left us with their debt. When I complained the Chef kicked us out forever. We were 86'd. I figure had I not complained about waiting 10 minutes for service from his new waitress because she was to busy with her phone (I took a video of her), and having left the building, and experiencing him follow me down the street begging me to come back (which I did), the evening would've gone better, or at least ended better. We made no noise, we played video golf for an hour and tried to end our night with a game of pool. He's over burdened and angry. It's no longer a safe place to enjoy. We've lived here 30 years and raised 4 kids in this school district. We will never go back to Vogie's!!!!!! read more

Food is great if you have the right person in the kitchen and drinks are well made. Those are for my stars. From a business stand point I will say DO NOT work for this company. The owner will slander your name along with gossiping about you to the fellow bar manager. I have held my tongue for too long with how the employees are treated at this establishment and I am taken back by how disgusting the owner is and speaks. I will also say don't go in when it's busy because you will find yourself waiting for a long while for a drink let alone your order to be placed due to the lack of no pos system to put in tickets, etc. I will no longer be bringing my friends and family in this establishment due to the poor management skills this company lacks, not because the drinks and food are bad because frankly that's all they have going for them. The food here is so good for bar food. We moved away from Gladstone over a year ago and still drive out here for dinner every now and then. I'm particularly a fan of the grilled cheese (not on the menu) and the club sandwich. And the fried pickles, oh the heavenly heavenly deep fried pickle spears. You have to get those. The drinks are dive-bar level, exactly what you expect from the place. They're fine, it's a full bar, just don't expect a cocktail list and don't try to get fancy with your order. The beers on tap are acceptable. There's bar seating, tables, counters, and a couple booths. There's a pool table and a shuffle board and I think there's darts. Sometimes they have live music, I think mainly country or country leaning rock. The bartenders have these nice wooden signs they hang up with their names which I really think is neat. And they're always friendly and the service has been good every time we've been in. read more

I only made this account to write a review on this place. When I first came here It was because I was taking a walk and wanted a beer after a stressful day. The second I walked in I felt as if there were a couple guys laughing at me. I figured it was due to my seahawks Jersey being proudly displayed. I thought this because it looked like this place was the local watering hole for Greenbay fans. Whatever I ignored it and when to quinch my thirst. I approached the little divey bar that was reminiscent of every other divey bar in town. It took a sec to get noticed but then I was helped promptly the beer I wanted was out but she had a recommendation for a beer that was ehh ok.. I went and sat at a table near the guys who were laughing within ear shot, I was able to hear there conversation. a beer rep came in and they were talking about something to do with a rodeo or fair. I was able to gather that the bald man and the homely looking woman were the owners. The bald man was telling a racist or offensive story and the woman stopped him saying "hey we have customers". I thought maybe she might be a little smarter and professional than the husband, sadly I was mistaken. She came over near my table talking to a man showing off some halloween decorations. She laughed and said how cute these little monster dolls were then, she made the comment "we need to keep these behind the bar or they will get stolen" all while staring right at me. The brown tattooed man. At this point I was ready to leave. The rudeness, the lack of professionalism and the blanton descrimination sent me staight out the door vowing never to return. I suggest no one ever goes here, the waitress asked me if I wanted breakfast after I over heard her 7 mins earlier talking about how the cook they had was having trouble cooking eggs and the rest of his food was coming out cold. I gracefully declined. Oh I almost forgot on top of all of this the female owner was spreading false statements about locks of love claming they make people pay for the wigs. Obviously she didn't do her research. If the family can't afford the hair they aren't ask to pay but they do have a sliding scale for those who can. This is my first visit to Vogies Bar and even though it's a nice, clean place it will most likely be my last because I'm 28 years old and every other person here is 40+ years old. Nothing wrong with that in the slightest, it's just not my kind of scene. Over all I'd say that it's a nice, clean place with decent prices plus it has free pool with any food or beverage purchases (2 pool tables total). It also includes 5 Oregon video lottery machines as well that 2/5's of which are open even during happy hour. read more

Excellent value! We came on bike night and it was crazy busy - but staff was still very very friendly. The food was an amazing value! Very delicious, super reasonable prices.
