Vlad's bakery opened up around Fall 2021, at the former Von Doughnuts space. The sign has not been changed yet, so it can be a bit confusing. It is now a Ukrainian bakery, with a hot table, pre-made soups, spreads, frozen perogies, and an array of pastries and baked goods! Honestly, it's quite overwhelming the amount of products they have in the store. So far I've tried their frozen perogies, ginormous cabbage rolls from the hot table, some breads and pastries. From talking to the very sweet staff, Vlad makes most of the items, which is impressive. Although I am not 100% sure of the cakes and pastries. The frozen perogies are absolutely delightful and there are vegetarian and meat options. I just boiled them at home and had them with sour cream. The giant cabbage rolls from the hot table are very filling. I did find them to be a little rice heavy, but delicious! The hot table was mostly Eastern European dishes... the other item that stood out was the stuffed peppers! (Maybe next time). I had mixed feelings about the breads and pastries. The mini doughnuts and cannolis I tried were really good. They seemed pretty fresh, and totally worth the visit. I did however get pretty stale eclaires. Given the vast selection of pastries, I assume they may not be at peak quality if they are not consistently busy. Vlad's has become a routine stop for me whenever I am in the area. It's nice to see a business open up during the pandemic, and I hope they get the clientele they deserve.

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

Delicious desserts, waffles ice cream, smoothies, and more. We ordered: Medium Mango Smoothie - $7.95 Simple Pleasures Waffle - $15.50 The waffle was light and fluffy and the toppings of fruit and chocolate were a great combination. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

For items: we chose strawberry, banana, halal marshmallow, waffle bites, brownie bites, and Oreo with a round of cappuccino's ($5.50 each). The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

I stopped by Kream after seeing all the hype on Instagram about the famous Korean "Dubai…read morechocolate." When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!

The cube cakes are rich without being overly sweet, and you can tell care went into both texture and balance. They're also filled generously with so much cream! Prices are fair for the quality, especially given how unique some of the flavors are. Great spot if you're craving something a bit more refined than your typical bakery dessert.
