Got a basic pedicure. The service itself was okay and the nail paint lasted a few weeks. I did get a cut on my toe nail.

We called ahead for 3 pedicures. Win was so kind and accepted us even though she was near closing time. She needed to finish up so we waited but they checked on us, gave us water, and set up the foot soak. Pedicure was awesome, they didn't rush even though it was past closing at that point. I tried this salon when my favorite was booked- and they may have sold me on coming back! I got a spa pedicure and gel manicure. Both were great. They were extremely quick but also did a great job. I told the nail tech that I wanted black with some gold glitter and she interpreted what I said in her own style and I loved it. The pedicure was very good and detailed though fairly basic, no extras. The staff was attentive and friendly. They seemed familiar with their clientele and very personal. The only downside was the actual salon. It just seemed a bit older and run down. It wasn't quite as modern and pretty as I am used to. A very small downside to a very good salon. I got terribly treated at this salon. First of all, the lady doing my nails treated me horribly and was being unbearably rude. On top of that, she filed my nails so hard that she cut my finger. She was not handling my nails carefully at all, she was being very hasty and harsh. Second, when I told her she cut my nail, she started blaming me and saying I was "moving my chair too much" when I was not. Thirdly, when noticing I don't talk very much she sharply asked me "Can you talk?". Excuse me? This lady also horribly shaped my nails and they are very uneven. This was my first time at ViVi's and I'm happy to say they did a very nice job! I got a pedicure first and then a manicure. Nguyen was the nail artist and the first other woman doing the foot/leg scrub massage was also very courteous. I wanted to do a pink, teal-blue on my nails and purple toenail combo. Nguyen advised me to do the toes in normal polish, (but still with their strong top coat) not the gel/shellac so it could save me about $15, and I think I'm more impressed with her color substitute selections than I would be with just the one cnd purple sparkly shellac. She combined a bright Royal purple with a rainbow shimmer top coat for an even better effect! The pedicure included also a hot stone massage after the grapefruit scented scrub, and the hand+arm massage after the manicure was also very nice. There was one lady that snapped at me for being on my phone, but overall the staff is kind. 3. Polish selection/quality isn't wonderful. 4. My nails already look worn in within 24 hours. 5. I went on my lunch break to get a manicure and there were two women there - one who was owner or manager, and another who was just working there which is who did my nails. Perhaps she was tired, and maybe another time I would have had a better experience, but my rating is for what I experienced today. The good: - Clean tools! They use new tools for every single person. - Friendly staff - Quick service The bad: The actual nails (see photos) - this is the same quality as I could have done myself at home instead of the salon quality I expected. One of my nails doesn't have full color, one was not filed all the way and is 'bumpy' on the end, and three of my fingers have nailpolish all over the skin. I will need to go home and fix these myself. My daughter and I (and occasionally my college-aged son) have been going to ViVi's Nail Salon for the past three years. They never disappoint and the staff is very friendly. My daughter and I just had our first acrylics and pedicure, respectively, since March. My daughter says her acrylics are "fantastic." They are taking the appropriate precautions - masks, gloves, dividers - and by appointment only. The salon is a little tucked away (in strip mall on 164th and NE 85th in Redmond), and although it's not as plush and as modern as some other salons, it's definitely worth trying! read more

Reading all the spectacular Yelp reviews, me and my friends wanted to give this place a try. We went for the mani/pedi package last weekend. The pedicure was nothing spectacular. It was very very average. The lady who did my mani/pedi was annoyingly loud. She kept laughing and giggling at me. Apparently, I was chatting with my friends and I didn't hear her tell me to switch my feet. That kept ticking her pink. It was super annoying!!! Manicure could have been much better. I told her to trim my nails on the right hand a tad shorter than the nails on my left hand (because obviously, I am right-handed) and she did it exactly the other way around. She didn't do a good job at all at removing my cuticles. I wish I had taken a photo to post here. Think I will take my money somewhere else from now on. read more

Worst manicure I have ever had, I asked her to stop before polish was put on because I wasn't going to spend another cent there. I asked for my nails to be slightly cut down and some of them were cut down past the tips of my fingers and now they hurt. The corners also were not cut correctly so I will have ingrown nails in about a week. Uneven and painful nails should never be the result of a professional manicure. read more

Don't waste your time if you don't have all day and are not a regular customer. I'm sure their work is great, but their service is NOT. *Long post* I'm not one to write a negative review, but i left feeling terribly frustrated. My regular place was booked, so I called at 3pm and asked if they had availability for 3:30. They said yes, so I decided to give this place a try as it had good ratings. I showed up at 3:25 and waited a few minutes to get seated. She began soaking my dipped nails on time, rushed through them then said someone would be with me in 10 minutes. She walked away at 3:25, and from past manicures knew it would take 10-15 minutes to soak. In the meantime, they were helping their regular customers and other regulars walked in. I kept hearing everyone say, "Wow! You are so busy today!" ....The salon had two people getting a pedicure, and two people getting a manicure. Busy? hmmm... seemed strange. Anyway, I am an extremely patient person, but at 3:47 I was becoming very impatient as my nails had now been soaking for 22 minutes. I then began to calculate if I even had enough time to get a shellac french tip manicure as I had to be home in about 45 minutes. It's never taken me that long to get that done, but I decided to wait a few more minutes. A technician finally walked over and placed the tools down at 3:50, but then walked away to finish up someone else's nails. I understood, that customer was here first. However, she continued to set up two new stations, sat two customers down, to which it is now 3:57. When she came back, she took off the foil and hurriedly scraped off my nail polish. Just when I thought I was getting started and would have JUST enough time to get my nails finished, she put my nails in water and lotion to "finish" soaking them, then walked away again. She did not return until 4:05. My nails had now been "soaking" for 35 minutes! I am now coming to grips that I would not have enough time to get my nails done since they still had not even finished removing my previous manicure. What set me over the edge was that they sat down another regular right next to me, but instead of coming back to me who had now been there for about 40 minutes, the original technician who had started my nails, started working on the new lady next to me. The customer even asked her, "Do you need to help "someone else"? Because I'm early." Where the head technician replied, "No, it's ok." NO IT'S NOT OKAY! I have been here 40 minutes! Don't ignore a new customer because a regular has come in. The second technician returned for the third time, and I told her that I needed to go. She apologized that she "Didn't know that I was in a rush, and I should have said something." I wasn't in a "rush" until I had to soak my nails for 40 minutes! She cleaned up my nails, said to wash my hands and that I was done. Super frustrated now, I did so and began to walk out just to be stopped and told I had to pay $10. WHAT?! They just argued the excuse that it wouldn't soak off and can take a while. I said that it had been 40 minutes which it has NEVER taken that long anywhere! She then became annoyed at ME, said that I didn't have to pay, and continued to talk about the situation in front of other customers as I left, which was very unprofessional. Their time management sucks. That is why they were "busy" with the two pedicures and two manicures with plenty of technicians because it takes them forever since they continuously walk away from the customers. read more

*Update 2/19/14* It's been 4 months since my initial review of this nail salon, and I unfortunately and regrettably have to downgrade its star rating. Oh, how I wish this salon still were excellent! It is so close to my home, I had high hopes that my initial opinion of this place would be sustained. But, alas, no. I've been here 5 or 6 times since October and the quality of service you get here is incredibly inconsistent, varying wildly depending on the technician who you get. Case in point: I came here last week to get my daughter's eyebrows waxed. While there, the ladies asked if I wanted a manicure. Since my cuticles were in their usual tawdry state, I said sure, why not. What I got was the most unsatisfying, rushed manicure I've ever had in my life. Here is the chronology of this manicure: -1-2 minutes:removal of my existing polish on all fingernails -3-4 minutes: alternate soaking of each hand in bowl of warm water while the other hand gets cuticles trimmed -1 minute: filing of nails (that's 1 minute total for filing both hands' nails) -2 minutes: buffing of nails with electric buffer (that's total time for both hands) -at this point, the lady starts shaking the polish bottle and uncapping it, about to apply the nail polish. I pointed to the bottle of hand lotion, asking if they no longer do a hand massage with the manicure. The lady looks at me for a second and then says "I do the massage after". But then she reconsiders, re-caps the nail polish, and says "But if you want the massage now, I will do it now". Ladies out there, I ask you: have you EVER had the hand massage AFTER they've applied your nail polish? EVER? LOL Of course not! Your nails are wet and tacky after polish application. It would be ridiculous to do a hand massage immediately after putting on polish! Ridiculous! This lady never intended to do the hand massage at all and only did it because I asked about it. And the massage that resulted was the fastest, most haphazard and rushed and non-satisfying hand massage I ever had. -less than 2 minutes: hand massage (that for both hands combined,total) -2 minutes: polish application (for both hands, total time) So, in total, this manicure lasted 11-13 minutes maximum. I was never asked if I wanted my nails trimmed (which I did. I never thought to ask because I assumed it would be done, or at least, I'd be asked), and the hand massage deal just was the kicker. I don't know about you, but when I have a manicure (or a pedicure), I expect it to be a little treat that I indulge myself with. I get them once a month or less, and it's a treat. This time, it was no treat. I felt ripped off. On the plus side, my kid had an excellent wax job (it cost $2 more than any other salon charges for eyebrow waxing, but that's ok. I just wish this place would put a pricing list on their wall, so you know in advance how much their services cost. All other salons do this, but not here). Due to the inconsistency in service, I don't think I'll be back here for my manis and pedis. And it bums me out! Note: I find it....interesting that all the latest 5-star reviews of this salon (all within the past 6 weeks) are by new Yelp users with zero to minimal reviews and friends, and by folks who aren't local to the eastside. Very...interesting. Plus, one reviewer said she is offered bottled water here. Are we talking about the same salon? I've been here four or five times and never once was I offered water. This is your typical strip mall salon & the ladies here a very sweet. The salon is clean & appointments are easy to get during the week. Weekends are busy! I. Freaking. Love. This. Place. ViVi's is right next to my hair salon (Attractions Salon), so it's super convenient when I'm prepping for a fancy event (or I just want to freaking get my toes done). Nguyen owns the shop, and she is super kind. All of the techs are wonderful and ask polite questions, gauging how much you want to talk during your treatment. I always go in for spa pedis with my mom (though sometimes we cheat on each other and go solo) and for $25 ($30 with a tip) you get a spa pedicure in a massage chair, foot and leg exfoliation, hot stone massage, excellent lotion (smells yum!) and a beautiful pedicure on those toesies of yours. I've stopped in twice as they are within walking distance from my place, but will be looking elsewhere for future work. While the facility is nice and relatively easy to find, there are some downsides with the service: 1. Crowded, and it doesn't much matter if you make an appointment in advance. You can show up at your time and still have to wait while they serve walk-in visitors prior to getting around to you. (This happened to me last time, I had an appointment and ended up having to wait.) 2. Rush jobs. When the place is busy, you are rushed in and out the door and the service feels like it. I got a manicure here and the staff member doing the work cut my finger twice simply because she was in a hurry to get to the next person. 3. Old equipment. The stuff used just looks old, the chairs are old, the tables are old, the fans are old. etc. That's not always a bad thing if it is well maintained, but in this case it is slowly falling into disrepair it seems. I don't usually write reviews but I have to give my compliments to Vivi's. The work they do is always precise and beautiful, there's a good selection of polishes, and the women who work there are always kind and friendly. The prices are very affordable, only $12 for a basic mani, and you get a lot more in quality and attention to detail than you would at many other places. They also give awesome hand and foot massages with hot stones and house made lemon scrub. I'm a bit of a nail salon veteran, having visited countless salons around Seattle and the Eastside, and Vivi's is by far my favorite. Go here if you want a great mani/pedi, you won't regret it. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Today, after waiting 30 mins the lady proceeded to tell me that they couldn't do what I'd asked. After a brief argument, she then attempted to do something I never asked for. Powder in every place except this business does not require to remove ALL acrylic nails in order to have new color put on. They proceeded to laugh at me, creating a scene in front of the other customers. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The customer is NEVER right here and business is extremely poor. read more
