Have several issues. The cameras don't detect when they are supposed to. Prime example about 90% of the time when you drive up in the driveway it will not show a vehicle. But when you get to the front door it will not always show you at the front door. All of the caeras have the same issue. In my opinion its totally junk not worth the money. The SLIMIEST company ever!! Do not do business or go under contract with them because they make it nearly impossible to cancel. Called to cancel my account and the representative I spoke with told me it was all taken care of and canceled and then 2 months later I am still getting charged the monthly rate. He had given me a free month so it would seem like it was canceled but never actually canceled. After being transferred 4 times and on the phone for 40 minutes they canceled my policy or so it seems with no offer to refund and still having to pay an additional month. If you are considering Vivint please save yourself the headache and money and just don't! There is a reason you see all the bad reviews following this one, the company is poorly ran, the customer service is useless, and you will end up paying thousands to try and get out of a long term contract. Thus company is truly abysmal and they should not be able to operate the way they do. Vivint's door to door salesmen are an absolute nightmare. Somehow they all choose to ignore No Soliciting signs, talk over you when you're trying to tell them you're not interested, and sometimes refuse to leave your property when asked (which legally counts as trespassing). The most egregious example happened about an hour ago. The salesman kept interrupting my husband, who was telling him we aren't interested and pointing at our No Soliciting sign, and when my husband got mad the salesman started mocking him and laughing at him. Then he pointed out my arm brace (I just had surgery) and asked me "did he do that to you?" WHILE LAUGHING. We have contacted Vivint multiple times about their salesmen's harassing and illegal behavior, insisting we be taken off their list of houses to go to, and they have done absolutely nothing. If I see another Vivint salesman at my door, I'm calling the police. read more

As of today, The tech has cancelled my appt 3 times so far. I am now on my 4th day off from work trying to see someone. Vivint is repeatedly refusing to sell me a replacement battery unless I renew the monitor service with Vivint. The panel's rechargeable battery swelled and can no longer fit in the panel. We purchased the Vivint system in full and use an alternate monitoring service. read more

we have had the worst experience with Vivint. we were told there was not a contract when we bought the system and that it could be moved for free since buying on a special. none of that has been true we have tried to cancel because the service is terrible and we were notified that we are under contract for 5 years or we could pay off the rest of the equipment which was over 5000 including early termination fees. we also are trying to move and they told us we could get it moved for free and now telling us we have to pay 300 to get it moved!! I have had this system for 5 years and thankfully I'm out of contract. I was content with the monitoring but the service after the sale is poor. The equipment started to fail shortly after I received the system. They will try to trouble shoot over the phone but will not send anyone out to correct the problems. At this time almost all of the system does not work. The first thing was the control box for the lamp and then the camera, was told that I would have to get with my internet provider. The system is no longer monitoring carbon monoxide, smoke, and one of the glass breaks is no longer working. I have to bypass a lot of the sensors in order to arm the system. I called and was told due to me not being under contract that they would send a technician to fix the whole system free of charge. Of course I would need to sign another contract and my bill would be ten dollars less..... no thanks you fooled me the first time I'm not going to let it happen again. I will cancel my service as soon as I get my other alarm installed. This company also wants you to sign a long contract. You pay for the equipment which is unbelievably expensive. Coincidentally most of the equipment will not work by the end of the contract. read more

Do not waste your money on Vivint Alarm Co. we have had ours for 5 yrs and , and out of those 5 yrs it just worked properly the first yr. Too many service calls , cameras off line always! The telephone app stopped working before the first year and now that I'm finally a couple of months away from paying off this out dated equipment they keep canceling my service calls with out notice . I spoke with A manager that told me he understood and he would call me right back after he talked to the technician well... Good thing I wasn't holding my breath you got it! If I could rate them with ZERO STARS, I would. I repeatedly told the Lubbock Texas VIVINT salesperson Colby that I was not interested, yet he would not leave my porch until I agreed to a 3 day trial. I agreed (just to get rid of him), as he assured me I would not be charged for the 3 day trial and all I would have to do was call him on his personal cell phone if I did not want the system and that he would promptly pick it back up and cancel it. When the installer arrived later that same day, I called Colby, and told Colby I had changed my mind and I did NOT want the system installed. Colby was extremely pushy and just sat at my house while it was being installed anyway rather than cancelling the entire process as I requested. I felt invisible and as if Colby (who claimed he was a Marine) was NOT respecting my wishes. Day 2 of the unwanted 3 three day trial, one of the system components fell off my interior wall and activated the alarm, causing a neighborhood ruckus. 3 days after installation, I called Colby and AGAIN stated I did not want to keep this terrible system, and he told me he was still on the job working, and that he would call me when he finished his work day. HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I called him for the next two days, he did not answer his phone, and I was unable to leave a message since his VOICEMAIL was full. SO, I reached out to the company at 855-898-8908 and spoke with a gentleman (day 6 by now) and he called Colby and got no answer and he told me the policy was to allow the salespeople 48 hours to return calls/emails. He told me to call back in 48 hours. So day 8, I called the company again and spoke to a lady, she attempted the same process, so I told her he is still not answering his phone. She said "that's all I can do for you" and so I asked to speak to her supervisor for some type of resolution. I waited 20 minutes on hold, the supervisor (Shawn) told me that since it was now after the trial period I must pay for it. I asked to speak to HIS supervisor, and Shawn stated "That is not possible" and I asked him "why?" and he just repeated that is was not possible, but that he would send his supervisor an email and have HIS supervisor call me. Today is now day 8 from the initial installation date. I am furious, frustrated, and I am calling the TEXAS State Attorney Office and Better Business Bureau on this disaster of a company. BE WARNED! The single solitary reason why I gave you more than one star is because the initial sales and service was good. Mo set us up, and he was great. Your technical support, on the other hand, is trash. I had an appointment today for y'all to come fix my doorbell camera. I was given an 8AM-Noon time window. I work nights. I DON'T do 8AM, but I wanted this fixed, so I scheduled it. Got up at 8AM and by 11:40, nobody had shown up. That's when I got on live chat and started getting canned answers like "the technician has been dispatched", and telling me the technician is in my area and should be contacting me soon. What a load of crap. I was told I could receive a call from a supervisor "in a couple of minutes". That didn't happen. I finally had to call and talk to a live supervisor, who proceeded to inform me that the tech assigned my work order WAS OUT OF TOWN DOING AN INSTALL!!!!! I asked if my order could be transferred to a tech who's actually in town, and was told NO. You mean to tell me that, in a city of nearly 250,000 people, there is not ONE single tech that can jump on this and make it right?!?!?!?! I've lost a lot of respect for Vivint, and it's going to take more than a damn $42 credit to get that back. You have to earn it. All I proceeded to get from that supervisor was the token apology, which I got sick of hearing, and an offer to reschedule. Today was the best day for me, and that's why I scheduled it for TODAY!!!!! I held up my end of the bargain and got my butt up at 8AM for this, and wasted the next 5 hours, only to be shown that my time MEANS NOTHING!!!!!! I told that supervisor that it appears Vivint had gone the way of AT&T and others. Good sales and service at the time of sale, but absolute CRAP going forward. I don't really want to do business with Vivint anymore, but I feel like I'm stuck. There has to be someone out there who cares about their customers months and years down the road. There just has to be. Expecting me to be available in a time window, only to have y'all blow it off: NOT COOL!!!!!! Lying to me and telling me the tech is in the area and will be contacting me soon: NOT COOL!!!!! Seemingly not getting a phone call from anyone at Vivint because they really want to solve an issue: NOT COOL!!!!!! Vivint has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered! We have been trying to simply have a camera relocated from the front of our home to the garage area and VIVINT has scheduled to be out between 12pm-4pm four times and has either contacted us at 3:45 or after to reschedule or have simply no-showed. We even escalated our complaint to a senior supervisor who assured us it would be taken care of on a specific date... NO SHOW. Today makes 5 times! Their sales associates are very persistent, going door to door to sell a service that they can not live up to. (I wonder if we actually had a break-in if we would even get a response?????) I have had this system for many years and out of all the years that I had this service it would go off line. The doorbell had to be replaced 2/3 times and it would not work for weeks at a time. I would call Vivint and they would up date the system to get it back on line. Then it would go off line again. They would help me long as my contract was good. But now the my contract has ended the representative claim he can not help me. And he did not even try to help me with my system that he stated was too old. I pay $78.00 a month for this services and he offered me a up grade which he said would be $66.00 for the bill and a additional $25.00 which can up to $91.00. For being a long time customer that is what They offered. I continue to work on my system until I got my doorbell to work. Oh but let me just say I told the representative I was going to look for another company he did offer to transfer me to cancellation wow. Do anyone know of a good alarm company please let me know. This company has solicitors walking around and they came to my mother's home. She clearly has a sign on her door that says No Soliciting. Somehow, and she probably invited them, they came inside her home. Luckily, Mother called me to come over as I take care of her business. She was wrong to have invited them in, but if this company cares, and these young men were gentlemen, they would NOT go inside an elderly woman's home. Unbelievable experience!! This sales team pressured my 87 year old mother into buying a system too complicated and too expensive to understand. I luckily intercepted and after they damaged her property -which they have not fixed- they did not install. I have left several messages that we need them to repair what they damaged and they will not call back. I can't imagine a company that would harass and take advantage of elderly people. I have been a customer for four years and it means nothing to Vivint. I upgraded my system and when the technician couldn't get the panel to communicate with the devices he literally ran out of the house and said someone else would be calling(after two hours). Surprise--I never heard from Vivint again! New upgrade was never finished and you bet I'm getting the monthly bill. I'm ready to move on to simplysafe and I hate the hassle but that's how bad the service has been with vivint. read more

Vivint alarms are great as long as they work. When they quit working you will go weeks before they send out a technician. The quickest I have ever had a tech out for a trouble repair is 7 days. I am currently waiting 16 days to have some sensors looked at and test my system. Seems like a long time for one of the Fastest growing home technology companies, per the CEO profile. Seems they have grown to fast and don't have the manpower to keep up. Would love to switch, but they have me stuck in a THREE YEAR contract. Check around before adding vivint as your home alarm provider. Check the local companies that will probably have a better response time to repair tickets. I wish I had read more

I love my vivint system. The equipment is much better than my old system. I love controlling my system from my phone. Response time is 5-15 seconds at the slowest. My old monitronics was thru the phone line and when I disconnected my old alarm no one called. When I cancelled they claimed I wasn't on the "high priority" list. Shouldn't every customer be high priority?! Every time I call vivint only a few seconds to pick up and they speak English! Neither of which I could say about monitronics. read more

Asked for technician to come out tried to charge me I'm a loyal paying customer for years that right there made me more mad then the door bell pay to have y'alls poor equipment fixed your funny. We had a 5year contract with Vivint it just recently ended April 2018. We were very loyal to this company they had their payment every month when it was due. The first two years we started ok with a $52 monthly payment we were told our payment would not change throughout the 5 year contract. After that our payment jumped up to almost $67!! In the month of April before our contract ended I chatted with a representative concerning going on a month to month bases until we decided whether we would stay with them or move on to another company. The representative stated that we could stay on a month to month bases no problem. This weekend I realize that we are not being monitored!!! The only reason I found this out was I noticed when I checked our checking account the payment was not taken out for the month of May!! I couldn't get into the Vivint app either!! They never made contact with us via email or by phone! They just dropped us like a hot potato!! I do not recommend Vivint at all! They don't even deserve the 1 star review! There are other Security Alarm companies here in Lubbock do not put your trust in this company they will contract you for 5 full years then they won't care about you as a customer once the contract is over they will cut you off with no prior notice! read more

When I called to inquire about new services the phone call went well up until the point that the sales rep asked for a $50 up front fee which would be reversed if we decided not to go with the service. I told him I would need to discuss this with my husband first because we always discuss everything that comes out of our account. He argued with me about it for a little while and I explained to him that we discuss everything that comes out of the account considering it is our money. He then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and got a different person and explained to them I wanted to make sure a tech wasn't coming to my house on the appointment date I had discussed with the previous rep. He asked what happened and I explained what went on and the reason for my answer to the $50 up front fee. His response to what happened was "we are trained to be ascertive". I think this reflects poorly on the type of service I would receive as a customer and decided not to go with their service. read more

I have had vivint home security for two years. We recently had the services transferred from my sisters name to mine. No change of address or anything else, just the name the contract was under. When I called for support about something on my online account ONE MONTH LATER I was told the transfer of services was never finished, and I had to go through the entire process again. A tech ended up coming out to make sure all of the existing equipment was okay and charged. NO NEW EQUIPMENT WAS INSTALLED OR ACTIVATED. I was told there was a $60.99 monthly bill due. The tech took the payment. All was well. After two weeks I never saw this payment come out of my bank account. And all the tech did was add another account. So instead of transferring, they created a double billing situation for one home. When I called to get this fixed I was told the tech's payment system was not "synced" with vivint and my payment was "in limbo" the customer service rep also stated that she was unaware that techs could even take payments. Sketchy. The problem was "fixed" and I was told to call back in 24-48 hours to confirm this with the correct department. I called 48 hours later, I talked to 3 different people and no one knew what I was talking about. The 4th person "fixed" the double billing problem and assured me that I would not owe my march-April bill due to inconvenience. THE VERY NEXT DAY vivint took $120 out of my bank account, without my knowledge or permission. The tech apparently saved my card and turned on autopay without my permission. I was charged a my monthly bill and and activation fee for a system that was already existing and working. I had to file a claim with my bank and thanks to vivint also had to get a new debit card because what they did is considered "fraud." When finally got a hold of someone with vivint I was on hold for a good hour and had to speak to multiple people. I was prompted to take an online survey after asking to speak to a supervisor. All of a sudden the supervisor was "unavailable" even though they were on the line with me and the customer service rep. Absolutely the worst service providers and employees. I have talked to 20-30 people in the past 2 months. You are transferred 5-10 times every phone call you make. And their contracts are extremely hard to get out of. I would rather have no home security than have to deal with these people. I no longer feel like this company is capable of keeping my home safe if they aren't even capable of transferring services. read more
