    Mushrooms with garlic and ham

Have to give this place 5 stars. I love the food in here and they are the best tapas I have had around Dublin. Mushrooms soaked in garlic oil with Serrano ham. Crockets with ham chicken and béchamel. Chicken in a creamy sauce with a side of wedges. Prawns smothered in garlic and chilli oil. Have I convinced you yet? If not, go try for yourself. Great staff with mamma cooking down in the kitchen and the best white wine I have had for a while. Yay for viva!!

So correction on the open times. They close at 11:30pm. I'm still sitting here sipping my sangria and getting my last order of churros (We've already had two orders). I must say first off, the food tastes amazing. Very mild in tastes, nothing overly powerful. My favorite still is the bread with tomato puree. Very simple and tasty. The churros are a must get!!! Sangria is very wine heavy, so if you're looking for something to sip it's perfect. I will recommend this place to all Dublin visitors. Plus the service was great even though they were just about to close.

We went to vivas on a Monday night for tapas, house wine are €4 a glass which is a great deal for a glass of rioja. I ordered 3 plates which was too much food, the portions were decent and I was stuffed. The waitresses were friendly and nice, and I will go back for more.

Love this place!!! My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday evening at 830, it's a nice cozy place that seems to fill up fast so do make a reservation before coming. We shared 6 small plates and it was just the right amount for the two of us. We had prawns in garlic and chili oil, mushrooms with Serrano ham, fried green beans with Serrano ham, fried potatoes, chorizo in white wine, and meatballs. Every dish tasted amazing - flavorful without overpowering the other dishes. Great ambience and service too :)

Lovely place and great staff, food is delicious and always feel very welcoming when eating there been there 4 times and will be back again very shortly. Would recommend to any one looking for some tasty tapas for a very reasonable price.

Tapas on my first visit, al fresco

I've eaten in Viva three times and I'm sorry to report that on each subsequent visit it has fallen sharply in my estimation. I love tapas, the more authentic the better in my opinion and on my first visit, eating al fresco in the cutesy garden terrace out the back I was mightily impressed with the food we had - an awesome meat and cheese platter, deliciously tender calamari and a chicken dish cooked in sherry, which we washed down with a great white wine and finished off with scrummy little churros and excellent coffees. I was only too eager to return, but perhaps there is something to the saying that eating outside makes everything taste better because on our next two visits- eating inside- the food was - sorry to say - disappointing! The restaurant is a cosy little space but the tables for two feel cramped and it's a good thing that they stagger the tapas dishes arriving to the table because they are tiny and not really adequate in space to hold the tapas, side plates and drinks all at the same time. The goat's cheese salad and aubergine dish that we had on our second visit were not up to the standard of our first visit, but lured back by the memory of our first meal, we decided recently to try again. Unfortunately, it wasn't great -the patatas bravas tasted like they'd been reheated, the wine was poor and our Crème Caramel dessert had a strange consistency. The croquettes, meatballs and calamari were all adequate but not amongst the best I've had by a long shot. The coffee was still great though and on the plus side, it does offer great value for money and all the dishes are home-made, it's just a pity that the food failed to hit the mark on two of our three visits.

    Such good food

Went here yesterday with group from work. Food was amazing , relaxed ambiance and the staff were so friendly and attentive to our needs. Would definitely recommend it

Patatas bravas with tomato sauce and aioli!

Great deal for 1 tapa and 1 glass of wine - 8.85, and 2 tapas for 12.00! We had the patatas bravas, the chorizo, and the white wine gambas! Did I mention the bottle of wine? Everything was so good, and the waiter was so charismatic! Great energy for a Tuesday night! This would be a great place for a date, as the music is soft, the food is delish, and it's perfect portions for sharing! I will definitely be back!

    Cute tapas restaurant

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

The ambiance is very nice as well, romantic but also good for a fun night out with friends. 10/10 recommend adding this to your itinerary for dinner!
