Pumpkin pasts that was overwhelmingly aniseedy!
Zara N.

The tapas are fancy but the service was pretty lacklustre. Also the seating at the high tables on those saddle-like stools is just plain uncomfortable! We were seated here even though we had a booking and there were plenty of empty tables, when we asked could we move we were given rather hostile treatment by the waiter who said we would have to ask the manager as he couldn't alter seating arrangements. My friend had to ask the host who then moved us. We ordered six tapas between us which was plenty, though some of the servings are very small. The pumpkin pasta dish was doused in fennel which didn't feature in its description on the menu and I found it rather unpleasant as I'm no fan of aniseed. We had the server try to insist that we had ordered a beef dish twice before he accepted that it was for another table. The chicken carpaccio dish was a bit bland. The potatoes with hollandaise and goats cheese bites were the best of the tapas but the goats cheese plate was teeny tiny. The dishes are innovative but some fail to deliver and the pricing is quite high. I would return but not for any of the tapas I sampled on my last visit. A bit of a mixed-bag of an experience is how I would sum up my meal here, but there's enough going on that appeals to the senses to warrant giving Fade Street Social a second go.

Salted popcorn with crispy free-range chicken cooked in tapioca flour, rolled in sumac with truffle butter.

Fab tapas lunch here last month. Didn't book but managed to get a table really quickly. Staff were so nice. It was really difficult to choose but eventually we chose four to share. Salted popcorn with crispy free-range chicken cooked in tapioca flour, rolled in sumac with truffle butter. Mini lobster hotdog, lobster meat bound in béarnaise and melted hazelnut butter, brioche roll. Pumpkin macaroni with spring onion and parmesan. Fine green beans rolled in cep dressing with mushroom powder, lemon zest and chervil. For dessert chose Praline doughnuts, tonka bean cream, white coffee ice cream. Had two glasses of white wine but no cocktails. If you're looking for somewhere to go for a date (and you don't mind sharing food!) You should definitely put Fade St Social at the top of your list. It was all fab. I'm just sorry it took so long to pay a visit here. Will definitely be back

Highly recommended for almost any occasion. Food is excellent - we tried several dishes and each one was very good. The drink menu has something for everyone. Service was a bit slow and not super attentive, which is why I can't give it 5 stars.

I came here on a recommendation...despite 3.5 star rating. I think it was just ok. Atmosphere I'd give a 4. Service also great...4. Food - the kitchen has work to do. Flatbread was so good, as was the mushroom ravioli. SKIP the oysters. The lamb stew - 1/2 meat rare and 1/2 meat well. Not great. Chunky chips were great! Overall...go to the bar, skip the restaurant.

We thought we were going to a Tapas restaurant, but this must be Tapas, Irish Style. Not all portions were made for sharing, which is interesting when you have 6 people eating. But on a very positive note, the food was excellent. Try the coconut dessert, it is delightful.

I have eaten here a couple of times now and I have always had a great night. The staff are really friendly and really know their stuff, especially the wine menu. I had the Chateaubriand steak, which has to be one of the best steaks that I have ever had. You have to order it straight away as they are cut and weighed before service and they may run out of the size that you want. Two thumbs up!

This place is my most favourite post-work watering hole. It's not the cheapest, but they have the most fantastically weird breadcrumbed olives you've ever tasted and yummy crafty beers. The staff are friendly and skilled in the art of the cocktail, and the limited bar food is scrumptious. The but, and it's a big but for me, is the lack of a non-substantial meat option on the menu is particularly irritating because the house don't allow you to order flatbreads if you're not sitting outside. Even in February.

So, they do 'fancy' tapas. It's recommended to order 2 to 3 dishes each, between the two of us we had 5. The food literally came out 2 minutes after we ordered, which makes one wonder how fresh it is. Some of the portions were really teeny weeny tiny. The goats cheese, ham and honey fritters were our favourite, but sadly after 2 bites they were gone. On the other hand the parmesan fries and popcorn chicken (which was like kentucky fried chicken mixed with popcorn..weird!) were good sized, so we did feel full up after our meal. However, if you feel ravenous, I don't think this is the place to go to. We shared a bottle of sparkly rose, and having found a seat on the terrace I really did enjoy the whole experience. But as for the food, not at all memorable.

Great atmosphere, excellent selection of tapas, and good company make for a great night. Fade Street Social provided the first two, and my friend and I made the trifecta complete. We ate at the gastroBar and sat at the tapas bar in the downstairs restaurant which was a great choice (we were also given the option to sit in the cool bar/lounge upstairs but opted for the tapas magic). Was awesome to see the chefs make their works of art... Which then went straight to our bellies. Everything we tried was delicious. I think we ended up sharing 5 mains & a desert which was the perfect amount. Highly recommend trying the truffled pasta and the Jerusalem artichokes w/mushrooms. The sirloin was also tasty. In fact, I'm pretty sure that anything you order will be great (and beautifully delivered). Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed! (And what's with the 3 star rating?! My confidence in Dublin yelp reviews is low if that's how this place is rated!)

I have mixed feelings about this place. Fade St Social serves Irish tapas - yes, it sounds weird, but it's actually a nice combo! Let's be honest: the menu looks very appealing, and the food is pretty good. I would highly recommend the truffle pasta, creamy and tasty. It lost a star because, mamma mia, my wallet hurts! Tapas can go up to 10€, and you would need approx. 3 to feel fed. The service was okay, but not outstanding. Booze is pretty expensive too. As a consequence, even though I liked the place and the food, there are a lot of restaurant in that price range that give me more gustatory pleasure than this one. They have a great rooftop upstairs if you want to chill, it's a great place. They also have decent cocktails, but nothing exceptional. Not mind blowing, but a pretty nice place nevertheless.

I was there for some drinks. I love the atmosphere and their drinks menu, very good selection of beers (affordable) and cocktails (expensive). Planning to go back for dinner.

Drop in for dinner with a friend. Order 4 tapas and 2 cocktails that adds the bill up to about €55. Portions for tapas were pretty small, but I think it's decent pricing. Though I felt the food was rather bland. The cocktails were very pricey in my opinion.

Had my third visit to Fade St Social today & it's only on the back of my previous visits where service has been great; that I've kept the rating at 3 and not 2! I'd had one of the wines on the menu on a previous occassion & liked it so suited me just fine to go with it again. It seems this was not to the liking of our waiter who seemed determined to get us to upgrade, so much so that he brought over a taste of the dearer one (I almost thought wow this is great service) but he seemed highly unimpressed when we genuinely preferred to stick with our original choice! Our food was also a bit hit or miss. Goats cheese logs were lovely (but small) and the sole dish with lentils was delicious - we wished we ordered 2 of these instead of the pork as 2 of the 6 pork slices were extremely unappetisingly fatty. The truffle pasta with asparagus was a little bland but okay and the bread was tasty but we needed to ask for balsamic. Do people ever want to butter foccaccia? I thought it a litte odd to just give butter with the breads without olive oil or balsamic. Once we'd finished all of the above, our skinny fries with cheese & parma ham arrived so I guess they were our dessert! (And yes we did have to ask for them) Nobody once asked if we were enjoying the meal so luckily we were just around the corner from Murphy's Icecream to go for an enjoyable dessert...

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

Foley's has two floors, the downstairs area offers live music but no real food menu so we headed upstairs. The place was crowded (later learned there was an American football game in town with 30,000 fans from Georgia Tech and Florida State; in future I would avoid visiting Dublin during this time!) Foley's offers typical pub food in a casual sports bar atmosphere. My chicken tenders were nicely spiced and meaty, although the accompanying fries were kind of bland. Fish and chips were good too. Service was slow but that's to be expected on a crowded evening. We were surprised to see the check in $USD (no choice of currency offered) rather than in Euros (the coin of the realm), with a 8.75% "exchange rate markup fee" tacked on to the total. We weren't given a choice of currency as stated on the bill (see picture). I've never seen this done elsewhere, seems like a petty way to make a bit of extra money from unsuspecting tourists. We were tired and the place was crowded so we paid and left without comment. But that unwarranted currency fee didn't leave a good taste in our mouths at all.

We arrived for lunch a little after opening on a Saturday. The place filled up quickly and was full before we left. This was also our first time having a meal with the Sweet Chili sauce, which we've both had on other foods before but something about the fried food in Ireland made the sauce that much tastier! We order boneless wings and pepperoni pizza. The Red Headed cocktail was amazing - earthy and a tad sweet. The restaurant overall has a snazzy feel, the bathrooms were by far the nicest I had seen this far and the staff was friendly.
