We were seated immediately after we walked in, at a table by the window looking out onto Old Country Road. The service, as always, was excellent. Our waitress was pleasant, and attentive. A big basket of warm pizza bread arrived almost immediately while we were waiting for our food. It was so good that by the time our entrées arrived, I was already almost full! I had the linguine seafood, while Hubby ordered tonight's chicken special. Both dishes were super tasty, flavorful, and satisfying--exactly what we were looking for after a long day. But what really made tonight's visit even more special was getting a chance to speak briefly with Juan, the manager, on our way out. I've known of Juan for at least 20 plus years, ever since I started coming here, and tonight I learned that he has actually been working at Café Baci for 38 years. That says a lot about both his dedication and this restaurant. I've eaten at restaurants all over the country, especially on both the East Coast and West Coast, as well as in many places throughout Canada. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to meet and interact with quite a few restaurant managers, and I have to say, Juan is truly one of the best I've come across. He is the whole package--compassionate, personable, genuinely caring, and incredibly professional. You can tell that hospitality isn't simply a job to him; he truly cares about his guests and takes pride in creating a great experience. Even our brief conversation left a wonderful impression on me. After all these years, Café Baci remains a reliable place for wonderful food, and people like Juan are what make a restaurant feel truly special. We always leave happy and satisfied, and tonight was no exception.

We started with an antipasto salad loaded with soft and hard cheeses, roasted zucchini, roasted eggplant, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, and a ham-and-cheese roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. For my entrée, I had the Rigatoni Bolognese , and my sister ordered the Lasagna. Both dishes were very good! I paired mine with a glass of Riesling, while my sister had a Whiskey Sour--which I completely forgot to take a picture of! Now, let's talk customer service. Our waiter was very attentive and checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. He provided good customer service. The bathroom was clean; however, it is a unisex bathroom with both a urinal and a toilet. Paris had the same setup. That being said, I'm not taking anything away from the food at Café Baci. I've found, over my many years of dining, that restaurants that serve a great bread basket always follow it up with great food, and this was Mauro. We followed the appetizer with an order of luscious eggplant parmigiana along with perfectly cooked al dente rigatoni. We also ordered gnocchi with a sublime pomodoro sauce. The sauce was not something typically seen, in as much it contained a nice quantity of onions. For dessert we had a debate between chocolate cake or a cannoli, keeping in mind that the restaurant is owned by a great bakery. Our waitress, Samantha (Sam) who was outstanding throughout, said it's a tossup. We finally agreed on the chocolate cake. When the dessert arrived, to our delight, there was an order of light and very tasty chocolate cake, and a creamy & crispy freshly filled cannoli, compliments of Samantha. Once seated, we noticed right away that the menu didn't match what we had seen online. In the videos, every pasta dish came with burrata, but here it was an extra charge. The bread bowl itself was also a $7 add-on, which pushed the $25 pasta dishes to nearly $40 each -- a price that simply doesn't make sense for what you get. Staff was friendly, but the busboys seemed completely untrained, and service overall was slow. We did receive our minestrone soup quickly, but it was just okay. The soup's kidney beans and chickpeas were noticeably undercooked. When the pasta arrived, the disappointment continued. The burrata, which we paid extra for, was cold and hard rather than creamy. Even the waitress seemed surprised when we pointed it out. We also noticed that the regular pasta dishes (served in normal bowls) were much larger portions than the bread-bowl pastas -- despite the bread bowls costing more. At the end of the meal, the reality became clear: the bread-bowl trend is more gimmick than substance. With two pasta dishes and one soup totaling around $100, the value just isn't there. This is, after all, an Italian restaurant. One at a time they just started clearing the table as we were eating, reaching over us, even getting between the arms while my son was eating. This was not complimentary, we paid for this. Filomena's has good food, but honestly Filomena's has no manners. You will NOT be made to feel like family, you truly are just a dollar sign. The ambiance was rushed and shuttle like. Next,next,next...From the moment we sat down, it felt as though the staff's primary goal was to turn the table over as quickly as possible rather than host a hospitable dining experience, clearing the plates felt aggressive, making the evening feel more like a fast-moving conveyor belt than a proper sit-down dinner. While I understand restaurants have table turns to manage, a meal should still feel like a hospitality experience, not a hurried transaction.

Both were delicious. My friend ordered arancini and chicken parmesan which were equally delicious. We shared a regular menu portion of the ciambelle. It came with 3 dipping sauces and plenty of powdered sugar at the bottom of the bag. In terms of drinks they have a wide variety of cocktails and mocktails. 2026 Update to one of my (previously) favorite restaurants:…read more Dear Management, I understand over the past few years there have been changes with the menu and the staffing (Bye Chef Ryan, miss you), but I have kept coming around like an annoying spam call. The past year both my family and I have spent at least $2,000 to get consistently tasty meals (arancini always hits the spot), but slow slow service, over and over again. You need more people. Whether it be bussers, wait staff, kitchen staff, I don't know and frankly it's not my job to.... when I see our waiters running around and drinks are empty, orders taking eons and items being forgotten that tells me there's more going on than whatever is happening at my table.
