In the house, waiting 4 the Puerto ta' cool down, just looking @ it & being a NY'er from birth, I knew it was TOP SHELF!; Olive Oil, Buffalo Mozzarella just right crust an all the right spices. I placed an order to be delivered at 5:58pm. They told me it would be to my house within a half an hour. I still had not received my order by 7:15pm. I called back and they were rude and told me it was delivered to my house and paid for because it was not in the restaurant. It was hard to understand them and they did not get the fact that the food never was delivered to my house. They even repeated the address back to me and said it was delievered. I told them I wanted to cancel the order and they told me I didn't understand that it was delivered and paid for already, at least that is what I could make out as to what she was trying to tell me over the phone. Vito's Pizzeria is an old school, no frills place to grab some good pizza and enjoy the culinary wonder that pizza is. How can something with only a few ingredients (dough, sauce, cheese, spices and whatever toppings you crave) become such a beloved institution like pizza has? I guess it's just because those few items create such a wonderful totality. The pizza here is solid. With each bite I was in a cheesey utopia and totally immersed in a wonderful culinary experience. Absolutely avoid. Look pass the attitudes of the gentlemen in the place and focus on the food. I was hoping after my 1st experience 4 years ago things would have gotten or similar. Thought I would love love over the years,, but it's gotten worse. We decided to try them again getting simply a plain slice, pepperoni slice, and some garlic knots. I watched them put my slices in the oven however I'm pretty sure they were dumped in water. Jow else could I explain how soggy the dough was. The garlic knots could have been a bit better, but it was the only decent part of it. Not cheap either. Please do not eat here. The pizza is good, we have to admit. We eat pizza all over Long Island. But...they seem to be a bit inconsistent with their slices. First time I had a slice, the bottom was crisp and perfect. Second time, a floppy oily slice. Stay to the crisp bottom! Some words of advice. Clean up inside a bit. Pizza boxes all over, and flyers just sitting there. They have QR code Instagram flyers just sitting there. Have one or two hung up and thats that. That IG page could be better too. Pay a local company to run it. It has that aged feel to it. The ad states taxes included ...just to find out they taxed you and it's on your credit card! This place could not be better. The staff is kind to everyone, and the pizza is unforgettable. I am a regular there, and I don't regret it.

If you could appreciate the gruff sense of humor at times, pretty solid place. For the family, the pizza isn't as good for us. The calzone is a winner. If you get the "medium" sized calzone, it's pretty good for the entire family. I had tried the mozzarella sticks, very crispy, very good. I just tried the gyro wrap, tastes pretty good in my opinion. I look forward to trying a bunch of other stuff on the menu, would've gave a five star but I don't know if it's quite there yet since I have not sampled more of their items. My GO TO local pizza place. Not only is the food Excellent ,BUT Vito and his staff are phenomenal !! Friendly, efficient ,business like and they know how to get everything right !! Vito's pizza is great and he makes it to your liking. I've eaten his eggplant parm hero's and veal parm hero's Delish . His salads are wonderful as are the speciality rolls.. This is our local, take out, place. We never eat in, but there are a few tables, no ambience at all. Pizza is ok for the area...but the garlic knots are the best in the world. Service was OK. I was craving melted mozzarella so I decided to come here and order the spinach roll. I called up and they had to check to see if they had any left? Every other pizza spot will make me a spinach roll fresh if they didn't have one so long as i don't mind waiting. What's the difference then making a new pie? They had one left..still takes 15 minutes to make? They charge $6.25 and i think there is more substance in a slice of pizza. It's the smallest roll I've ever gotten. And there was hardly any cheese, there is more butter on toast then there was cheese in this thing. The taste of the spinach itself was OK, it's totally frozen spinach but at least they sautéed it with garlic. The stars in this review is for their pizza. .
