I have been coming here for regular eye exams for many years. After my last exam in Dec 17 I asked for a prescription which they emailed to me about a week later. I was ordering some glasses on line and I needed the Pupillary Distance (PD) measurement which was not on the prescription they had emailed me. I called and asked for the PD information and they said I would have to come into the office to get the measurement. I was informed there would be a charge of $25 to do the measurement. I told them I refused to pay any additional money for something that should have been done at the time of my examination. I was advised it was company policy. I then advised them that I would no longer be their patient. I went to Costco where they preformed the test for me at NO COST! The test took no longer than 15 seconds and these people were going to charge $25. Never again!!!! read more

Nice office and staff. Dr. Fisher is very personable and I liked that she went to the trouble to show me the retinal scan from last time as compared to this time - which indicated no problems. Dr. Kim and VE Optometry were amazing and truly changed my life. I've struggled with terrible computer eyestrain for the last seven years, and as a college student it was extremely difficult to study. My vision problems made me feel tired and awkward, and I was unable to concentrate. After years of inconclusive doctor visits, Dr. Kim was able to diagnose my accommodative and convergence insufficiencies. Following my diagnosis, I underwent vision therapy to correct my problems. Dr. Kim provided me with a specialized program and a variety of exercises that have dramatically improved my visual system and my daily life. I can finally think clearly and concentrate. I also have much more energy and no longer feel awkward. Besides providing me with the latest technology and exceptional service, Dr. Kim and her staff at VE Optometry were incredibly friendly and fun to be around. I've been seeing Dr. Kim and Dr. Laubach for glasses and contact lenses since 2010, this week however, they went above and beyond. I had an emergency after sleeping in my contact lenses (very stupid, I know), and when I removed the lenses in the morning, I gave myself an abrasion when the lens stuck on the left side :( I made an appointment with Dr. Kim as soon as her office opened, but knew I would not be able to hang on long enough, so I called again and they told me to come in right away because I was in such extraordinary pain. Dr. Kim treated me quickly and kindly, and reassured me with what was happening, and what we were going to do about it. She prescribed me eye drops and gave me samples to get me to the pharmacy. She also was nice enough to see me back the same day. I slept most of the day, but by the time I came back, after doing the drops like she recommended, I felt much better already. I had another followup with Dr. Laubach the next day, at which point he told me that it was virtually healed :) I'm off the drops now, no pain for a couple days, and my vision is back to normal! My wife and I recently went to see Dr. Laubach for eye exams and we were both quite happy with his comprehensiveness and the resulting prescriptions we received. Both Dr. Laubach and the staff are both kind and helpful as we made our choices among the impressive selection of frames. The people are very friendly, but at the end of the day-it is all about money. I have been wearing contact lenses for years, and was asked to put them in as part of the check up. $50-not covered by ANY insurance "contact lens consultation" fee added on. The next time, I waived the "contact lens consultation," and when I went to order more contacts from a third party-I was told that my prescription could not be verified. I called Visual Eyes, and was advised that I had to have the "contact lens consultation" every year, even though my prescription is the same. Total scam. read more

New to area and needed a new eye doctor. Reviews looked positive so I gave it a try. When you visit a new doctor, they typically want to evaluate you completely to get a baseline. That did not happen here. I visited for an annual eye appointment and after the doctor tried up selling me a voluntary service I declined and after he tried selling his services to others in my family, he notified me that I would need to come back to have a more comprehensive exam in a few months and at that time he would dilate my eyes and the elective service I declined would be necessary. When I asked to have my eyes dilated as per the usual annual eye exam routine with my past Doctor he said this wasn't the appointment I had made and he didn't have time. When I made the appointment, I made it clear it was an annual exam. Clearly, they are focused on making money and he shared that my insurance will cover most of my next visit because it will qualify in the new year. I realized this doctor was a quack and after refilling my prescription made no mention that I needed a follow up appointment. This is important... Beware of their auto generated emails scheduling an appointment that you never requested. I waited 3 weeks and then finally called about my prescription glasses. Apparently, they'd been there for a few weeks, just no one bothered to call. Once they have your money, they don't bother following up on their "service". Now, 2 months after visiting that quack I get an email with an appointment date and time I never requested. I called the office and learned they make the appointment for you and you need to call back to reschedule if it doesn't work. But... Read the fine print... You miss the appointment YOU PAY. So imagine if you miss the email. Don't bother going to this place. It's a business that doesn't care about the individual. They show you a friendly demeanor but behind that thin facade they don't care about the patient and will up sell you for services so they can bill your insurance. read more

Still waiting for a call to set up an appointment. Jenelle in office asked me to email our most recent eye exam reports for my 7 y.o. daughter. After Dr. Kim reviews the reports I will get a call to set up an appointment for an assessment (we're interested in vision therapy). More than a week, no call. Follow up email asking how long it will take to schedule an appointment got a response saying they are scheduling into July and again, please wait until doctor reviews reports and they will call to set up an appointment. I've given up and am looking elsewhere. If they think they won't need to do a vision learning exam on my daughter based on her last exam, or they think they won't recommend vision therapy, at least call me back to let me know instead of leaving me hanging. read more

I recently got a pair of Maui Jim prescriptions sunglasses which are terrific! The staff people were great in helping me pick a pair that worked with my prescription (not easy to do with my terrible eyesight). While my appointment at Visualeyes seemed to be great (the doctor was friendly, everyone was kind, no long waits), the aftermath has been less than desirable. I selected a pair of glasses based on cost with the goal of not having to have an out of pocket cost. The glasses I ended up with were not the ones I preferred, but they were the cheapest and I had confirmed with the sales assistant AND HER MANAGER that my insurance would cover the cost of the glasses. I checked out AND picked up my glasses with no out of pocket cost (mission accomplished - or so I thought). A few months later, I get a bill in the mail saying that an error was made and I needed to come in to pay $$ for my glasses. It's incredibly frustrating to do everything right (pick the lowest cost frames, check with the sales associate to ensure you don't have out of pocket costs, double check with her manager to make sure the information is accurate, etc.) and then be told "oops, we actually lied to you, pay us $$". The whole experience left a very sour taste in my mouth, makes me feel like I was scammed, and leaves me not trusting the business at all. I will never go back there again. If you choose to use Visualeyes - be prepared to pay more even if you're told you won't have to. read more

Dr. Kim is an excellent optometrist. She is extremely thorough. I am a contact lenses wearer with very dry eyes. Dr. Kim has spent a lot of time trying to get the best lenses for my situation. The office is lovely and the entire staff is very professional and upbeat. read more
