Absolutely terrible experience. I called ahead to the Visionworks in Round Rock and confirmed with a clerk that my insurance was accepted and included a $145 allowance for non-prescription sunglasses. Once in-store, I gave him all my info and confirmed the Ray-Ban RB2027 model I wanted. While it wasn't in stock, the clerk confirmed it was "active" in their system, so I agreed to order it with an expected 1-2 week delivery. Initially, the price was $250, which my insurance brought down to $120 with a small copay - total of $128. After 15 minutes of fumbling around on his computer, the clerk suddenly told me the price was now $199+ due to some mysterious "extra charge" he couldn't explain. No apology, no resolution - just a complete waste of time. This is exactly why places like Visionworks are losing ground to more competent online and big box retailers. Zero transparency, poor communication, and no respect for the customer's time. Avoid. read more

Visionworks has some good coupons. They also offer a glasses warranty-protection plan, which is good for 12 months. I had to use the protection plan after only 2 months of having my new glasses after falling, scratching up the lens, and bending the frames. No deductible and 2 weeks later, a brand new pair. Their customer service is good, especially since it seems this location has only one technician. Because of this, the wait can seem long. read more

I wish I could rate lower. I booked an appointment for the eye exam at VisionWorks for 9:30 am. I never got any confirmation but still showed up at the appointment time. The door was locked and read that Shop open at 10:00 am. I wasted 30 mins loitering around and finally some one opened the door. I was told by shop attendant the exam will not happen to this shop but there is a back door and I need to go there. I went there and was told since I am late, I have already missed by appointment !!!. The lady on the desk was rude and within 2 mins of interaction made me feel that I am not welcome there. If you're looking for a place with terrible customer service this is it. Went in on Sunday, only 1 person working, 1 other customer who was being helped. We waited patiently as that customer was helped. The associate got a phone call and told us she would be with us shortly. When she finished with the customer on the phone, she began to help a customer who had walked in about 5 minutes before. We had waited patiently over 20 minutes. We promptly left. And for the last time as this isn't the first time something similar has happened. We went to lens crafters where we were waited on promptly and courteously. read more

I wish I can give zero star. Me and my daughter selected frame from visionworks, Roundrock and placed order in the shop. We received message to pickup after few days, surprising frame is completely different what we ordered. Much darker shade and different pattern than what we ordered. Visionworks, Roundrock employee keep repeating "nothing she can do about this". Apparently this problem happens multiple times to customer seems!!. I also asked customer rep, what is the point of displaying frame in the shop, if we don't get exactly same frame what we select. There is no guarantee what you select and what you get. Vision(Lazy) just either can't get it right or just doesn't care about anything or anyone. This is the same at all locations and if it weren't for VSP being associated, I wouldn't go in the first place but I'd rather shop out of network from now on than ever use this horrible brand and chain again. Lack of follow through or commitment and every clinic they have just do as little as humanly possible to make things easy. I called for a prescription to be emailed twice and then faxed and after thirty minutes I just drove to get it. They had sent the fax by the time I got there, WITHOUT THE PRESCRIPTION!!!! STAY AWAY. They don't give refunds to your credit card if you are not happy with your glasses. The manager claimed their system doesn't allow for refunds to credit cards, so they have to mail a check which can take 30 DAYS. Of course the main customers svc said that it only applies to cash purchases & her action would cause my refund to get kicked back by the corp office telling her to refund it to my credit card. So meantime like me, u would be stuck too, trying to get your money back. Guess she is trying to buy time & make her sales for the end of the year look good. Shame Shame. read more

Had my first eye exam in the last 5 years today at Eye Associates Round Rock. I was greeted with professionalism and introduced to a new member of the team - Sonya. Sonya was very kind and even gave me a compliment that made me smile. Micah completed the first portion of my exam and was very diligent in cleaning/disinfecting the equipment as well as explaining in detail each test that he was performing. I then saw Dr. Choe who took so much time with me, explaining my test results, and performing my eye exam. From beginning to end, everyone was very professional. It was the best experience I've ever had with an eye exam and I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need. Special recognition to the office manager, Micah, for scheduling my appointment on such short notice. I appreciated being fit in before my upcoming vacation. 5 Star Experience! read more

In September of 2021 I purchased two pair of glasses. The glasses were due to be picked up on 9/25/21. When I picked up the glasses the glasses were not made to the prescription. But the salesperson explained I needed some time to become used to the new prescription. After a few weeks it was obvious these were hindering my eyesight. The store was very accommodating in returning the glasses. Promised the glasses would be ready within two weeks. After the two weeks I was rebuffered a number of times and finally was told the franchisee went out of business and a new franchisee had taken over and the could not give me a completion date. In December I spoke with the corporate customer service to cancel the order. Again was promised a matter of days and put in touch with the new manager. All that came from the conversation is to be lied to. Instead of days it is almost two months later and I still have not received my refund. Today I spoke to customer service. It turns out Visionworks has sat on the refund and has not processed anything. Please do yourself a favor and go to another vendor. read more

I called the doctor office on Friday 2/4/22 and they told me I could order my contacts with Visionworks next door. Great! I called Visionworks and was told the doctors office was closed due to weather and after explained I just spoke to someone they told me call the doctors office back to confirm. I was transferred back to Visionworks again after explaining what happened the lady (heavyset because she was out of breathe) told me I needed to call the doctors office back and tell them to walk my prescription over to Visionworks I asked her for her name because I wanted to file a complaint with the manager, I was not rude, I did not yell or even get upset and the lady hung up on me. I will NEVER do business with lazy-people that do not care to provide exceptional customer service to customers. I know I am just one person but this one person will never give them one dollar of my hardworking money. Please train your staff better!!! I've been a longtime customer of Visionworks but decided to change locations due to a recent move. After having my annual eye exam I popped next door to this location and was immediately met with high pressure sales. It caught me off guard because my previous location was much more relaxed. I was so turned off that I opted not to purchase contacts that day but come back a few days later. My gut told me to just purchase from my old location but this location is so much closer to home so I decided to give this one another chance. Twenty minutes after my arrival I was finally assisted. The person assisting me was really pushing using my insurance for the purchase, something I wasn't interested in. Knowing the approximate amount the contacts would be without insurance, I asked the price of contacts. The staff person's response was "EXPENSIVE". Are you kidding me? I'm a customer in your store about to purchase something, I ask the price, and you say "expensive". At this point I just wanted to make the purchase and leave. I requested expedited shipping and was told that was no longer an option at any Visionworks location, and that my contacts would take 10 days. I cancelled the purchase and left. Today I called my old Visionworks location and they were able to order my contacts, with overnight shipping. So, I was pressured (high pressure sales), disrespected ( "expensive"), and lied to ( no overnight or 2 day shipping). read more

Purchased a pair of glasses here Saturday. The girl that helped me was trying to find the frames I was looking for but believe it or not I couldnt find anything that I liked. I ended up finding it in ... the men's section. yes ladies... nobody will ever know! (well except for my fellow yelpers and I dont mind that at all) PRICE" well let's just say if I was paying without insurance I would be shocked. Ok I was a little shocked even with insurance. My final cost was almost $200. Dont they advertise 2 pairs for $99? that must be for frames only and the ugly ones at that because I think I missed that section of the store entirely. The frames were $179 which was about average. i saw some cheaper and I saw some about $259. Lenses with coating and reflect this and reflect that. . scratch resistant this and that.. (which ther are like 6 levels of this. . My question is if its scratch resistant shouldnt it be all or nothing, not 6 different levels of it? hmm. ah well I bought it with some kind of extra $110 charge. . I should have been more meticulous in going over each price individually instead of the lump sums. . but that's what I get. Next time I will be more careful. I still have to wait 2 weeks to get my glasses but I'm hopeful they will be as awesome as the should be for that kinda bank. read more

I am beyond pissed. I ordered my contacts with them almost 3 weeks ago. Started with optometrist writing a prescription for contacts that don't even fit the curvature of my eye. Got it fixed- brought the new prescription to change it to get the right contacts ordered. Lady working told me it would be fixed and I should receive them in the few days. Got my contacts in the mail and of course they didn't fix my prescription so got the wrong prescription. Called to tell them they tell me to bring the box in and they will get it fixed. Still haven't received the right contacts in the mail. I call them and they tell me it should be in my mailbox - of course not there. I call them back and lady takes my info and tells me she will call me back before they close. No call. I have now been three weeks without my contacts and have had to use samples of ones that are uncomfortable. read more

My prescription was a little off. I was having headaches from looking at a computer all day. I went back to Visionworks to see what they could do for me. The manager, Felicita, was able to resolve my prescription issue and recommended a different frame that fit better and wouldn't slide off my face. Since having the new glasses, I no longer have headaches and I'm very appreciative. While I was there, I noticed they were pleasant and greeted customer as they walked in. For me, this is very important because I don't want to be waiting and not be acknowledged. Their customer service with me was excellent! I definitely recommend Visionworks. read more

Oh man this place here in never calls you when your glasses are done . They lose your glasses. I had got glasses here wore them 2 times and the side broke . I couldn't bring them back because I had 2 sets of glasses and I had wore the other ones because I liked them more . I lost the guess glasses for had to use the other ones . My husband have been coming here for 2 years ,well it's his 2nd year I refuse to get my glasses here . Yet another business that is taking advantage of patients to pad the bottom line. I weny there for an eye exam and was told the exam was free but that there was a MANDATORY glacoma check. This has always been optional and as far as I'm concerned, making this mandatory is a red flag. Walked out and left. They also required that I provide my insurance information, not just my eye care, but my primary insurance. It was explaines to that this was just in case the doctor found something. Here's an idea, if and when the doctor finds something, collect my insurance info then. This practice of "just in case" is nothing more than database collection and a violation of privacy rights. The Mandatory glacoma exam is just padding their bottom line. Such a shame that this company and many others are turning information and options into profits. read more

I got new glasses 4 months ago. Fortunately for me I had Vision insurance but still had to pay $200 + out of pocket. Supposedly, my lenses were scratch resistant, but both of my lenses are scratched to the point where it is actually hard to see as I should. They will not replace lenses or even give a discount on replacement. Since, I have already used my Insurance Benefit, I will have to pay full price, which I can't afford. I feel for People who don't have Insurance and something like this happens! Glasses are Expensive!! read more

Great service! I scratched my new glasses big time after only having them for about a month. The employee was able to sign me up for the insurance which was $90 instead of charging me the $650 to redo the lenses. AWESOME! The lenses were ordered and came in right on time. I'm reading a lot of complaints about pricing, but honestly, you get what you pay for. Yes, you should always double check the numbers and you should always make sure that your insurance is being utelized correctly, but I've been wearing glasses for 24 years and they are NEVER as cheap as the advertized 2/$99 unless you want coke-bottles or reading glasses or have a super low prescription. Now, for the great news. I called around and spoke to several places and Lacy at Visionworks was so wonderful over the phone that I didn't want to go anywhere else. She was the reason I chose Master Eye Associates next door as well (Incidentally, Dr. Lubeck was great too). When I arrived with my frames to discuss lenses, I met with Terra who was also a joy to work with. My lenses were $150 cheaper than I was expecting them to be, based on calling around to other locations. I ordered the top of the line transition lenses for my Oakley frames (I tend to keep glasses for YEARS) and with insurance paid less than $200. Again, that is $150 less than what I was expecting for regular lenses without the transition and anti-glare and coatings! When picking up my new glasses, which I LOVE by the way, I decided to have my daughter's prescription checked and picked out new glasses for her. This time we had the pleasure of working with Sheena. She was also friendly, professional and knowledgable. With staff this pleasant to work with, who would want to go anywhere else? read more

I needed to update my prescription, not catch covid. I was asked to wait in their tiny waiting room with two men who wore their masks wrong and under their noses.That is not wearing a mask, it is having a mask. You would not believe how small this area is if you haven't seen it. And they would not schedule a simple eye exam using my optical insurance, only exams that need health insurance, and at additional charge. It is frustrating to be in Dr's offices and not see covid protocol applied. I can't take risks like that. If you need to be careful, you won't be able to do so here. read more

Frames & lenses are separate, so in just getting one pair w the lenses for 1/2 that. But, hey, glasses in the same day-so I can't complain :0) Selection actually ISNT very diverse, but Im also VERY picky. I found a few pairs in the mens section easier than I did finding ones in the womens section. But, I settled on a pair and am happy with what I have.
