I had a complex issue post an eye surgery attempting to get my glass prescriptions filled to work correctly. Although my eye doctor, whom I like very much redid my exam three times, the rx continued to be problematic. The office Manager at Vision Works, Mary and her team were very patient and kind as they attempted to problem solve the issue. After a number of attempts , Mary recommended I have one of their doctors do an exam for a second opinion to try and resolve why my RXs were not working. I made an appointment with Dr. Negar Gohari to see if she had any thoughts as to what was going on. After a very professionally thorough exam and conversation , she agreed that although the RXs I brought with me from my eye care provider was technically correct, she suggested from her experience making some alterations to accommodate how my brain was interpreting what my eyes were seeing. She was able to explain what was occurring so that I could understand her thoughts and plan for her suggested adjustments. The visit was very encouraging and professional. When my RX glasses arrived, it was the first time I had seen clearly in many months. I appreciate everyone's persistence to help resolve a frustrating and atypical situation, with grace and kindness. My family had an appointment on 03/07/2026 at the location on 8125 Sudley Rd in Manassas. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When we checked in, the employee (Mary Lee or Merrilee) immediately focused on telling me I was late instead of greeting us professionally. Throughout our visit, her attitude was rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming. She repeatedly stared at my two teenagers in a way that made them uncomfortable. After we finished our eye exams and started looking at frames, she avoided helping us and kept going to the back instead of assisting us. My husband eventually approached her for help, but she seemed annoyed that we were asking questions and acted uninterested in helping us. At one point, while helping our family, she abruptly walked away to assist another customer who had just walked in. This felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. My family has been coming to this location for years, but we have never experienced service like this before. This visit made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We've had to have glasses repaired twice recently and we went here the first time in an emergency and were very pleased with how fast they fixed the glasses and there was no charge. The second time we went, they were able to fix the glasses and again no charge. Everyone is very kind and we had very little wait even though there were a lot of customers but there were also a lot of staff as well. read more

They do repairs for free! Well I was lucky because my frames were fixable, just needed new string to get the lenses back in place. They were busy on a Sunday afternoon and there was only 1 person that could do the repair and she got to me relatively quick but man I wish I would've come here a month ago when the frames were damaged but I didn't have vision insurance so I was worried I'd have to replace the frames and it would be really expensive Great experience, super easy read more

I agree with others that the doctor I had was excellent and engaging, but that some of the staff need additional training in making the customer feel welcome. As a long time US diplomat, I think some recent immigrants have different cultural backgrounds and don't understand that Americans expect to be greeted with smiles, and that help should be offered with sensitivity and diplomacy. I think everyone means well, but they don't know better. Training in sales etiquette is highly recommended. read more

Kim helped my grandma replace her missing nose pad and adjust the glasses frame to be more comfortable on her face. Kim was so patient and caring about my grandma's comfort in her new glasses. My grandma has arthritis in her fingers which makes it harder for her to open and close her eyeglasses case. I'm so disappointed in my experience with this Business. I should have listened to my first impression when I walked through the door. They appear to be disorganized, my interface with the "technician" felt like she lacked training. There was a pricing "misunderstanding" and a manager needed to step in and fix the problem by inputting false information in to the system! This was on October 31st it's now November 20th and my order hasn't been filled! "My glasses were broken in the Lab where they are processed?" What? That's what I was told. This is for Manassas VA store. I don't know about the doctors but the associates are not helpful at all. I accept my part of fault I arrived 10 minutes late but the associates did not treat me professionally. I asked them so many time to please jus take my case to the doctor and let her decide whether she wants to take me in or not but the associates kept telling me NO and eventually lied to me that doctor had left while the doctor was still their . The other thing; they said that the doctor leaves at 6:30, if the doctor leaves at 6:30 then why the accept the appointment at that time frame and have the customer drive one hour for nothing. It's was just that they didn't wanted to take me in. Would never come to this store or any other Vision works store again and recommend other folks as well to find another place with a better customer service where they treat the customer's with curtesy and respect. I've been a patient here since 2006, and I will never go somewhere else as long as Dr. Gohari and Kim work here. Dr. Gohari has worked with my eyes for 13 years now, and she knows and remembers me every single time. My eyes are no simple prescription, and she always takes her time in examining my eyes, explaining what she's doing, and going the extra mile for my special eyes. I've been seen by other doctors (like Dr. Dillah) here as well (for follow ups or emergency situations), and they're all just as amazing. This is not an in and out "fast-food" type of medical office. The staff and doctor get to know you and are completely invested in not only the health of your eyes, but you as well. My glasses and contacts are always spot on, too. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff is welcoming and extremely friendly, helpful and respectful. They automatically greet you when you walk into the store, like it is second nature to them. They are eager and willing to start helping immediately. The eye exam was conducted by Doctor Dillah. She was thorough and professional. The best part of the experience, was Eveling. She worked with me when I was finished with the eye exam. She was helpful and gave me recommendations of certain brands of frames that fit the style I wanted. When it came time to go over insurance and payment, Eveling went above and beyond excellent customer service, to make sure I got the best deal possible. Dr Gohari is approachable and very well informed. However, the Office Staff LIES to you when you call. I am new to the area and called to check if they take my insurance, they said YES and made an appointment. After my eye exam, they charged me 100+ saying that I need to send in a reimbursement to the insurance. I called the insurance company and they said this doctor or practice is not in network and they should have told me that before making an appointment. I need to go back and get my money back. Manassas Office: I placed my order for glasses on March 7, 2020 and as of June 3, 2020 I had not received them. On June 4th I requested a refund. My wife's prescription was wrong and she requested a refund immediately. The reasons I was given for the delay was first - they submitted the wrong prescription, not sure what that meant, second - the prescription they finally submitted was not accurate, third - they lost the glasses. This was one of the most unprofessional events I have ever been involved in. They offered no solution other than a refund - I am still without glasses. Do not use them!!! read more

Professional and courteous service! We were able to easily and efficiently schedule appointments for our family of four online and enter our medical history which saved time when we arrived for our appointments. Our exams were what you'd expect but we found the doctor to be very engaging, thorough, and provided us a number of options for our eye care. The front office staff was phenomenal and really did much to make us feel comfortable and to help us find glasses that fit each of our different styles and preferences. While we primarily worked with Evaling, the other two associates chimed in and helped us with frame selections that were helpful. After several years of searching for a new doctor since I last one retired, I think we can say we've found our new optometry home. My only 'wish' is for them to increase their selection of designer frames. Overall, we had a great experience and are sure to return. read more
