I am amazed at the service I received. Eveling is awesome. I am a quick shopper and don't like to waste time With the sales hoopla. I got in and out at record time. My new prescription glasses were ready for fitting in 7 days. I will return. Eveling is the bomb in customer service. Look for her!! read more

If I could give a place "0" stars I would. The after purchase care here is absolutely horrible. I purchased a pair of glasses on June 1, 2014. Two weeks later, I had problems with the ear piece coming loose. They tightened it, but within 24 hours had the same problem. One person said they would order a new frame for me, another said they couldn't order the frame. One person said they would replace it if it broke, another told me I could pick out another pair of more expensive frames and they would gladly charge me the difference. The only reason I went here is this was the only in network provider in manassas through my insurance company. Now I will have to work with my insurance company to get the issue resolved. This is one of the worst places I have ever had to deal with. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

This a poor service provider! They misquoted the amount of frames and lenses and then went into car salesman mode. I never could figure out what I supposed to finally pay. I INTEND ON CONSTANT ING THEIR CORPORATE OFFICES AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! read more

Received incorrect prescription from optometrist. Lost two days of work and $500 worth of of spending for transportation costs to and from work due to migraines that still persist a week later after changing by glasses back. read more

Bad service. I liked it better when it was hour eyes. Used to come to hour eyes every time I need a check up and order contact len for 8 years. Now all the people that I used to work there are gone. I'm sad that this place turned out so bad, now I have to find a new place.... read more

This place has extremely poor service the front desk associate was on the phone working files when I approached the counter. She did not acknowledge me at all. Once in for my eye exam, the tech did not speak, introduce herself, or explain any of the test she was going to perform. I had to ask her what the test were for and even then, she gave me a bland response. I would not recommend this place at all. Spend your hard earned dollars at a place where the customer is welcomed. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewers, that the staff are not very good and are, in my opinion, deliberately misleading. We were told that our insurance was not accepted so obviously we planned on going elsewhere. Upon hearing this, the girl offered us some price or special and said that our contacts would be included. I specifically asked her if that was a supply of contacts for the year. She said yes. Turns out, it wasn't. It was only a single pair. I should've known better I suppose. The pair that I received don't fit properly so I can only imagine how the process of getting an appropriate pair will go. Not looking forward to the encounter and run around I think I will go through. Also, the prices for frames are extremely high. I would urge caution to anyone dealing with this place. Get "offers" in writing with terms expressly detailed. Good luck. read more

**2.5 stars** This location was previously Hour Eyes Doctors of Optometry. Same doctors, but remodeled building. I've never had to wait long for an appointment and the appointment itself never lasts for an extended period of time. They take care of business and get me outta there. I'm a fan of that. Whether it was Hour Eyes or now as Visionworks, the staff here seem to be ever-changing. I never see a familiar face, besides my doc, Negar Gohari. If it wasn't for Dr. Gohari, I probably would've looked for a better vision care center, closer to home. She is very nice, professional and is very personable. She remembers me each time and makes sure that taking care of my eye sight is a top priority. She also has a relationship with the LASIK eye center where I had surgery. This was a plus for me. Since I recently had Lasik eye surgery, I've had no need to purchase glasses or contacts here under Visionworks. When it was Hour Eyes, I had not yet had surgery and had an easy/affordable time ordering both glasses and contacts. With the staff and company change, it seems from previous reviews that this standard is no longer the same. Shame. read more

I wish I had read reviews before going to Visionworks in Manassas. I would never have gone. The staff, though not rude, they treated customers as if they could care less they were there are not. When ordering my glasses they did not ask what I wanted-they were upset I used my old frames instead of buying there's. Instead I had to tell them what kind of lenses I wanted. Finally, no one ever contacted me when my glasses and contacts arrived. When I called the store, their automated system told me there was no order for me. When I finally got a real person to talk to, she said the automated system is unreliable. Apparently, so was she. When she finally found my order, she rudely told me a text was sent to me my glasses and contacts were in and a text had been sent on 3/20. I told her I never got any text, she insisted it was sent. Even verified my cell number. What I didn't mention to her was 3/20 was the date of my appointment. I will never go back. If I didn't need My glasses and contacts I would tell them to send everything back and refund my money. Never again! read more

That one star means -1 star for this location. I went there because I wanted to get lenses for my glasses that I've ordered online . He let me know about the sale they have going on on glasses and lenses for 40% off but u told him I wasn't interested since I already have a frame that they don't sell . And he still tried . Eventually I told him that I'm only interested in the lenses and I'm not going to buy another pair. So he told me it'll be 370$ And I'm being defensive since I 'think he tris to sell me' . Well of course you did , and that's ok. Then I asked him how much it'll be with the cheapest glasses he have at the store and he gave me the same price. Nasty attitude - very very bad customer service - you don't want my money ? Why don't he just give me the price on lenses?? This supposedly salesman At the store ... 1$ salesmen ! I went to lens carfters - got my lenses to the glasses I wanted for 240$ and I'm so happy ! Go anywhere but there ! read more

Worst office ever...went in there and set an appointment, gave them my insurance information and left. Came back for my appointment 20 mins after my appointment was to start they tell me there is an issue with my insurance...now it's a Saturday so I can't call anyone until Monday. If they had checked it the day I came in and made the appointment I could have not wasted my time. Customers service sucks. I have a feeling that if I spoke Spanish it would have been better. read more

My husband needed new glasses, and we tried buying a couple pairs online but with no such luck. We decided to visit several stores to physically try on frames and get some pricing. Nowhere compared to Visionworks. They had a great selection of frames to choose from compared to other stores and were decently priced. We found several that we really liked. Celia was very helpful and courteous. She went over all of the options for him since he would need high index lenses and didn't pressure us to buy the most expensive ones. We ended up coming in the very next day to purchase them. I would highly recommend her and this Visionworks location. read more

I've been coming to Visionworks for the past couple of years. The main reason is Mary. She was here on our first visit and she is still working here. Which makes me very happy. Throughout the years we've had to get screws put in our glasses and other fixes done. Mary has been there for my husband and myself. Her personalized customer service is outstanding. Mary is always kind, patient and helpful. I am so grateful and thankful for her support. Today I bought two new glasses that I needed. Mary helped me again. After I think looking over 50 pairs we found the right one again. Please give Mary some praise, she deserves it for always being there for my husband and me. Have a good summer. See you in the near future. read more

Went above and beyond to help me with customer service. Needed a quick fix, my husband snapped the wire that held his lenses to his frame. Staff opened the doors a little early for me and were able to get me in and out within five minutes. Had gone to America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses and was told they didn't have time and I could leave them until that afternoon, even though there were only two customers in the store. Glad I decided to give this location a call. read more

I don't usually leave reviews. I have had nothing but great experiences with this office. The optometrists are kind and listen to concerns. My son has had 3 pairs of glasses just this year. He broke the first and received a new pair with the warranty. Last week, he broke that pair. The office went out of their way trying to find his frames that have been discontinued. I had an appointment today and the staff was a joy to be around. read more

The only reason I'm giving this rating a one star is because I could not do anything lower. When I had ordered my eyeglasses and the sunglasses I let them know that I wear progressives. And I've worn them for 10 years. they said that they could put me in the lightest thinnest lenses and that they would be thinner than the ones that I'm wearing. When I got my glasses I realized that I could not read out of them except for a small little spot in each lens. When I called them and asked them if I could have them send me send them back they told me that you know if I'm not used to progressives it's hard to adjust again I stated that I have been wearing progresses for 10 years. Then they switched to well since your prescription has changed, that it would take some adjusting to the new lenses. I argued about 5 minutes over the phone about this before they decide to let me come in at yet another appointment. When I got there they explained to me how their progressives worked. they're progressives is this tiny little hole in the bottom lens for reading. They also told me that the width of my frames also mattered on how the lenses came out. None of this was explained to me when I went in and picked out my frames. Also, I've never had that problem in the last 10 years that I've had progressives. I told them to take them back I didn't want them. I did go to my eye doctor and started asking questions with them they told me that their progressive lenses are really bad and that my frame size doesn't matter. progressive should work where it's all the way across the bottom all the way across in the middle and all the way across on the top, there should be no distortion or no blurriness on either side of the lenses. I advise you to never go to visionworks if you wear progressives. read more

Very bad experience. Went there to have my son's eye checkup. Went ahead of my appointment time. They gave us the forms to fill. Filled them and returned. After waiting for about 30 minutes pass our appointment time I went to the counter and asked whats going on no one has called us yet and appointment was 30 minutes ago. Then they had someone called us to take the "pre test". After the pre test we were asked to sit and wait and the doctor will call. After another 20 minutes we noticed that the people who came after us were already called in by the doctor. I went to the counter again and told them that it is more than 40 minutes now and the doctor has not called us. I told them that the person who came after us were already called in by the doctor. He went to the doctor and told her about it. He told me that he has told the doctor so lets wait for her to call us. Another 5 minutes and I went to the counter again, he lady there asked us to wait more. I told her that the people who came after us are already called by the doctor and that is not right. She was like we don't care and asked us to wait. I said I am not going to wait more and I will somewhere else. They didn't bother and were not even apologetic about all this. Rude customer service. I am not going there again. I hope people won't go there after reading my review so that they know what happens if you don't treat the customers well. read more

First time I walked in was a few weeks ago. I attempted to have an eye exam as a walk-in. There were a few people there huddled over a phone listening to a conference call perhaps and only one person greeted me. They couldn't a see me right away because they physician dos not arrive until 10 am... Tried again today and the store was empty- when I asked for a walk-in appointment again "oh I have nobody here... They're all stuck on 66... Don't know when that's going to clear up"... It could of been a better experience if she offered a solution such as, maybe I can schedule you for a later time? Here's our telephone number, you can call us and see if someone is available... Nope- she let me walk right out the door with nothing! Lost me as a customer before becoming one- this place needs A LOT OF TRAINING ON CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! read more

I went into the Hour Eyes today to get an examination for contacts and eye glasses. I was on a budget so my 3 questions were, "Do you take my insurance?", "Are you in network" and "What will be the exact co payment?" The lady said they did take my insurance and that she would call the insurance company to find out what the copay would me. Once I was done filling out the paperwork, she called me over to go into take some "pretest", which I took. I then asked her to tell me before I see the doctor, what the copay will be so that I can agree before services are performed. The lady explained that I will pay $5.00 for the copay, $10.00 for the materials (IF I GOT CONTACTS OR GLASSES FROM THEM), and in addition, if my lenses were more than the allowance, I would pay the difference. I reiterated to her, that I would be getting contacts and eye glasses exams and confirmed the $15.00 amount due. She agreed and had me sit and wait for the doctor. Once I was done with the examination, I sat with an Asian guy (manager) who said that I would owed them $5.00 (copay), $10.00 (materials), and $51.00 (contacts exam). I tried to explain that the lady told me I was only to pay $5.00 and $10.00 if I ordered anything. He said that I had to pay for the contacts exam or they would cross out the contacts exam and take the contacts back that they gave me until my order was ready. I said that I specifically asked how much this would cost me, so that I could determine whether or not I wanted to get any services performed and that I should not have to pay for anyone else's mistakes. He said he understood but that he could not do anything. He got the lady to come over and she confirmed that she did not tell me about the contacts exam and he told her in front of me that she must always clarify what the charges will be. The lady had nothing to say and he said that I had to pay that money. I asked to speak to someone else. He said that he was the manager and that he is the only person I could talk to. Upon calling my insurance provide, they advised me that Hour Eyes is not in network and that if I go to an in network provider, I would get $180.00 towards the frames and pay nothing for the lenses. Meanwhile, Hour Eyes was charging me $5.00 (copay), $10.00 (materials), $51.00 (s exam), $59.00 ($189 frames with $130 allowance), $89.00 (high def vision coating..whatever that means), and the lenses (didn't get the price for that because I was already lost in translation on all charges!!); about $300 when I could have paid $5.00 only at an in network doctor. What a rip off!! Well I told them I was leaving, took the contacts off and asked for my glasses prescription. On my way out, the manager said, "Ohh I am sorry about all of this. I hope you drive safely though since you don't have any contacts anymore! But don't worry, I will keep them here for you so when you pay for the exam, I will be sure to give them back, ok." He even said he tried to help me and would have given me the contacts because he knows that I need them to drive back home but that he couldn't make that call. Yet 5 minutes ago, he said he makes the decisions because he is the manager. He told me to take the contacts off and they would hold them for me until I paid for the contacts exam. Contacts are soo cheap that I was utterly shocked and completely speechless at this point. Are you kidding me? He went back and spoke to the doctor and the doctor said I could keep the contacts as long as I purchases something. When I heard the price tag on the lenses though, I was feeling like I was getting ripped off and asked to call my insurance provider. Will keep this updated once I see what happens. I am a full time student and worker, so sadly I will have to wait till I get paid to pick up the contacts prescription and t read more

Excellent customer service. When I got my and my daughters glasses, they said to come back and they would make adjustments anytime. Not only did then adjust my glasses, but they also replaced my daughters broken glasses free of charge and without using the warranty (which I found out can only be used once). After we left, the store manager tracked me down in the parking lot and adjusted one part of my daughters new glasses that the store rep had forgotten to do. read more

I do not understand the negative reviews for this place. I had dr. gohari and she was very thorough, friendly and made me feel comfortable with the whole eye exam. Celia was the saleslady who helped me pick the right frames and I ended up really feeling satisfied with my choice through her perceptions and great personality. when I found out what I had to pay out of my pocket after insurance and was reluctant to get the prescription sunglasses (as my second pair) she was very understanding and took the time to address my cost concerns and had me laughing. despite having to redo the paperwork she remained friendly and informative. I highly recommend the place and will continue to go there for my vision needs. read more
