Awful business that will nickle and dime you. Was charged an additional $70 for a service I wasn't aware I had to pay for. Called to ask for a refund since I was not made aware of that fee and the woman, 'LaRae' became argumentative and said she was standing right there when I apparently was told (which was a total lie). I told her that I was 100000% positive that I wasn't informed of this fee and asked her to pull the video footage for proof. She then knew I caught her in her lie and became even more argumentative and extremely unprofessional, talking over me to the point that I had to keep asking her if I had a chance to speak. If she would've simply pulled the footage, she'd see that I was never informed. If you want to work with clean, polished, professional, and honest staff, definitely recommend Resolution Eyecare in East Nashville. Really wish they accepted my new insurance because I loved their staff and how knowledgable they were. I got my glasses through them 4-5 years ago. They recently broke so I called and asked for a copy of my prescription. They said that I'd need to fax a written consent to have it released to myself. No big deal, I work in the medical field and I'm well versed on HIPPA. Since I don't have access to a fax machine I had a friend send it and per my letter I asked for it to be emailed to myself and gave my phone number if they had any questions. A week rolls by and no one reached out, by phone or email. I called them and was told the same spiel, "they can only send it via fax" this is 2024 who has home access to a fax machine? They said I could come to the office but I no longer live in the state. They suggested a drive to a fedex location to use their fax machine. They have made this process so damn difficult. I HIGHLY doubt I'm the first person to have this experience and while writing this I received a call from Danielle saying that she will not be sending my records because "no one will fill it because it's from 2021". Regardless if that's the case you cannot legally refuse to release my records per HIPPA. this place is a fucking joke. read more

I wanna start off by saying the new general manager Danielle is very disrespectful and rude doesn't know how to speak or treat her employees or customers she doesn't know how to do her job either or anything else in the store all she does is sit in her office all day and doesn't do anything even things that a general manager is supposed to know how to do she doesn't know how to do that. It's sad this company is going downhill because of one person who doesn't know how to do a damn thing like what are you getting paid for? At my appointment for eyeglasses the optometrist had the worst attitude like it was a pain for him to flip a couple switches for 3 minutes. I was told that my glasses (easy prescription, plastic lenses) would take two weeks and I would be notified when they came in. I wait two weeks and nothing. I call them back one night about 20 minutes to close only to be placed on hold "while they check" and never to be answered. The phones rolled over to after hours. I would not book any appointments here. They don't acknowledge you when you walk in. They have no check in desk no signs to point you in a direction where to check for your appointment. It's so unorganized, not clean. There boxes and stuff around. It just looks messy. The workers don't acknowledge you they will just pass by you and won't even ask if you have been helped. I got there early for my appointment and nothing no clue where to check in. There was a lot of workers but none off them ask if you need help. This was my first appointment and I was not impressed. I got a text a few days ago that my new glasses were ready so I trudged up to Rivergate ... only to find that they didn't even have an optician on duty!! I mean, really? An optical dispensary without an optician. So now I won't be able to get my glasses for another week and I feel like I'll have to call ahead to ensure that an optician will be available to dispense my glasses. I've also been here several times to get the pads on my glasses changed and quite a few of those times they haven't even had the silicone pads and I just can't wear the hard plastic. So that means I had to make yet another trip a few weeks later to get silicone pads. I would ditch this place in a red-hot minute but they take my insurance. Ugh read more

This review is for glass purchases only. I came here because they are one of my providers for my insurance and I honestly hope I never have to come back. Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I had zero help or direction in finding frames, and the only lady in the whole store acted like I was bothering her. On top of that after purchasing frames she said she said she couldn't adjust them for me, because they were closing soon. I now have to take them back, or find another store to get them adjusted. read more

I hate judging places by my first impression, but my first impression of Vision Works is completely unforgivable. I was looking for some new glasses, as my insurance was willing to pay for a new pair this year, and I'd just had an eye exam. I tried LensCrafters, but they were way too expensive, even with insurance. I also tried Walmart, who was much cheaper, but they didn't have any of the frames I wanted. So I decided to compromise and find somewhere in between...a nice selection with a decent value. Vision Works seemed to have that when I went in. I looked around and found what I wanted. I needed these glasses the same day, and they said they had same day service for a fee, so I tried it out. A few hours later, they gave me a call and said the glasses were ready. I tried them on, and they seemed fine. I left the store, put on my old glasses, and put the new ones in the case (I needed the old ones at the moment for reasons irrelevant to this review). I got out of the car and went to an appointment for a couple hours. When I got back to my car, I pulled out my new glasses to put back on. When I pulled them out of the case, there was a HUGE crack in the right lens. It took up half the diameter of the entire lens. These brand new glasses had not been touched since I put them in the case. I immediately took them back, asked for a refund, and informed them that I would never be coming back. The next day, I went to a specialty vision service with prices comparable to (and sometimes higher than) LensCrafters, but it was worth it to get quality, handmade lenses. Maybe it was just because I got the same-day service, but it is completely unacceptable and unforgivable for my glasses to break the first day I get them, without me even touching them. Just don't come here for your glasses. They may be cheap, but it's for a reason. read more

Horrible customer service. They blamed the computer on recognizing my prescription for just one eye when ordering my contacts. The contact specialist (the only one who gets a good review from me) recognized made the mistake and would overnight my other eye to come on no later then Wednesday (ordering on a Saturday). So Wednesday arrives, I call to verify my contacts have arrived, the first CSR stated no they had not come, so that prompted me to ask for the manager. The manager was an idiot and tried to blame they had the incorrect number for me, but she read me off my current number that I was calling her from. Then she blamed the computer and then tried to blame me. She was so horrible at her job, she never apologized for her store. She was trying to get me to pay again for a mistake she made! Going to get my refund now. I will never return! EVER! UPDATE: The same night, I called the visionworks customer service and spoke with a CSR and told her what had happened. She placed me on hold for about 30-40 mins, (at this time I am on my way to get my refund) she comes back to let me know the main manager of the store had offered me my two boxes of contacts for the initial price (73.99$) and 50% off a pair of glasses. I took the offer and I will be picking up my contacts today! read more

I have been to this location on two occasions. The first was almost two years ago, I had both contacts and a glasses exam but never ended up purchasing anythibg. This time however, again I had both exams, with my insurance. The Optometrist was friendly, a little over exaggerated during the exam, not that there's anything wrong with this. Doc, if you read this, don't take offense as I'm sure your technique goes over great with kiddos. It was just a bit comical for me :) I have yet to return for my final fitting as they had to order my prescription special (astigmatism) and didn't jave the glass to cut for my frames. I at this time I have no true complaints except for the price and I am the only one who can be blamed for that because I picked two high-end frames! Lol. read more

Just an awful overall experience. My boyfriend came to get new glasses plus an eye exam. I had made an appointment the week before, and the lady had already caught an attitude on the other line when I asked her what times were available. We booked it, and we went today. Everything was fine at first, we came in earlier for our 4:45 appointment, and did the paperwork. 5:30. 6:30 BEFORE he even got called back. What's the point of making an appointment if you can't keep it? Also, when customers came to make appointments and ask any questions, the receptionist was just plain rude. They are way past closing time, 7:30, and they charged us way too much for what we had to deal with. It is completely ridiculous! Choose a different location. read more

Disclaimer - I haven't been to the eye doctor in 10+ years. But my exam experience went well. Saw a doctor who was nice and explained my results. I was told how much my insurance would cover for frames and all glasses had prices on them. It was an easy process that took about an hour. There is a backup on making frames so what usually could be done in an hour is taking about a day 1/2. No issues for me since I'm not desperate to get the glasses. The people were nice and thankfully my insurance covered a lot of their frames. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Let me start off by saying the current receptionist was fine, fixed the issue eventually. However, the doctor was completely rude and rushy while conducting the exam with a child, horrible customer service on the doctors part (Heather Cohen). It very unprofessional to make a child feel uncomfortable in your chair to the point of them crying, and then you proceed to take deep breaths when the child needs time to comply with your request to open her eyes because you are constantly sticking your fucking dirty fingers in her face. Learn patience with children, I can tell you don't have any. Your professionalism? There is none, only a license to show for it. I will not be back to this location (we have been going here for YEARS, I've never dealt with this doctor). You must be new, looks as if you just graduated school. On top of that, previously (a year ago) I called to get certain information pertaining to getting replacement glasses, and the previous receptionist (who no longer works there), advised me that there was no possibility to get replacement glasses which I found today (a whole year later around exam time, that was in fact a lie a fucking lie) that was in fact false. Telling customers false information doesn't help IMPROVE their vision & the fact that the dr states to me when i explained this, " oh well you can just buy them out of pocket you know.".. not everyone makes your optician salary don't ever tell any parent or person what they can and cannot buy especially if you DONT HAVE CHILDREN and probably waste your money on nights in downtown Nashville and bachelorette parties and your loft rent in your gentrified neighbored for $2750 a month. Please. I will be calling corporate and taking the survey that was sent to me trust and believe. Hopefully the DR will have a better attitude overall especially towards kids because that was the worst experience for the child thanks for that.... read more

I have been to this location twice, and both times I waited over an hour to be seen by the doctor. The front office staff is always rude and they make it obvious that they don't want to even be there. I have never seen so many eye rolls at customers in all of my life! Been here 3 times. Always the same story - these people little organization, or follow through. Our first doc wrote in incorrect prescription for contacts, so we had to come back a second time. Our second doc entered the wrong numbers into the computer when my wife was getting fitted for contacts. They said they'd call when the contacts were delivered but never did. Now we're on our third visit waiting for a doc to come out and see us. The third doc checked the second docs prescription decision, and explained explained everything and made things make sense. We love Visionworks! My entire family goes here, from a 2 year old to a 78 year old. We always have a great experience, year after year. The staff is always kind, courteous and helpful. The Dr there is amazing! So knowledgeable, patient, takes the time to explain everything during the exam and the results of the exam. Really appreciated his patience and kindness with my 2 year old and my child with autism. Would not go anywhere else! read more

My wife went to get classes before work cause she accidentally stepped on them and broke them she can't see without her glasses she is -450 in each eye so when she went there she told the lady that worked there that she needed to know how much the glasses were going to cost so she could call her husband to bring the money while she waited there for me to bring the money the lady told her that her glasses where going to be done at 5pm that was at 1:45 when I arrived (husband) there it was 2:15 with the money she said now told her that the glasses won't be done till tomorrow since it's after 2pm now what the hell is 30 min difference and it's not like she wasn't going to pay she stayed there and told her I was on my way and the lady was short with her also when she was trying to give her the money to pay the lady was ignoring her and counting contact lenses and then she finally took the money she was NOT Pleasant that's what I call Horrible customer service . My wife was very upset cause now she had to go to work basically blind after the fact. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone unfortunately. I will never be back and neither will my friends and family after seeing the chaos, lack of concern and the unprofessional attitude... Without going into great detail ... I spent a little over $700.00 for contacts and glasses. Service was ok my first day. Had a great dr ( very happy guy!) and the person who helped me with my glasses was GREAT. After that very rude dr and unconcerned for my needs. You would think someone who has gone through this place misplacing my glasses for two weeks and showing no concern or apology they would be a little nicer. No. They make it seem like it's YOUR problem.. Don't even ask for a sample pair of contacts while you wait for yours to come in as that will be a straight up NO! They are for "new customers" ... Even though they constantly throw them away etc and everyone I know gets contacts while they wait for theirs from different Drs. I will be going to one of their doctors in the future no doubt. I'm not wanting anything free but the rudeness and lack of concern from this place is enough to run anyone off! This isn't even all of my let downs with this place but you get my point. read more

HORRIBLE..HORRIBLE..HORRIBLE!! The attitudes, the lack of service, the lack of attention, the filth! The ONLY reason we were there was because the Rivergate location stopped taking my sons insurance. Unless Rivergate starts to take it again, Vision Works has just lost my families business...and we all wear glasses. The doctor took my son back without me even being aware (we were looking for frames - they grabbed him to go back). He then had an attitude when I asked questions because what he said didn't jive with what we've been told before. There was ONE person in that entire location that was helpful, courteous and enjoyable to be around. When we went back to get my sons glasses I had to prompt the lady to check the fit on the glasses. She said she did that before he arrived. What??? I then had to prompt her again on my other son. His glasses needed to be adjusted, but she wouldn't have known that if I hadn't pointed out the bad fit. I promptly took them to the Rivergate location where both of my sons glasses were adjusted correctly. The Rivergate location is courteous and educating. The Madison location is ghetto and rude! read more

I am having the worst experience with this location. Came in 9/22/17 to get an eye exam and new glasses. My dog had just eaten my glasses so I was desperate. All I had were my sunglasses. Exam went fine, but was told I had glaucoma. I was frightened and immediately made an appointment with a specialist. In the meantime, I ordered three pair of glasses. $1048 total. Eye specialist said the single vision would be back in an hour but, the other two would be two weeks. Not a problem. Just need a pair I can see out of to drive! Came back in a few hours to pick them up and could not see anything. Told me I'd have to come back the next day to see the doctor again. I did this and he changed the prescription. But it was too late for the lab to make them. Due to my schedule, I can only come on Friday or Saturday. So had to wait until the next week to pick up the one pair that was done. Picked the up and they were fine, but others were not yet done. Picked up the other two pairs the following Friday. I didn't feel they were correct but the eye specialist said give it a week. When you wear glasses you know when the prescription is wrong. So I just took them back again today. They old me they need the lab manager to look at them and he is out sick. Come back again tomorrow. Why not I have nothing better to do on my weekends then continue to spend them at Visionworks. So, I'll be back again tomorrow. Saw a specialist about the glaucoma, turns out I don't have it and he said he saw nothing wrong except the beginning of cataracts. This is my 4th weekend trying to get my glasses. Maybe next week?!!! read more
