I have visited this location twice for my annual eye exam and I was very satisfied. Everyone on the team was very thorough and answered my questions fully. They even gave me recommendations to prevent eye damage and did not pressure me to purchase contact or glasses in store like most places. I think this care team is very transparent with pricing and I will be back for another visit when the time comes. read more

This is a rip off company. I sent up an appointment on a week day to avoid paying for retina eye dilation exam. And they still told me I still have to pay unless I come before noon or after 3 pm. When I set u my appointment for 1pm. They had told me they don't dilation at all on saturdays. So that is why I made my apt for the week day. And now they are adding more restrictions. Besides last time I was there. They added more charges to my bill when I ordered my glasses with out my knowledge so I call and complaint that time. But now I want everyone to know to be careful wi the the charges on your final bill read more

I can't say enough good things about Ducklo Eye Care. I was visiting Nashville and got a nasty corneal abrasion and their doctors were able to see me and took great care of me, even helping find convenient pharmacies since we didn't have a car. The office is spotless and everyone was incredibly friendly and reassuring. If you need an eye doctor in Nashville, I highly recommend the doctors at Ducklo. read more

Recently switched from seeing an optometrist inside LensCrafters to Ducklo since they're covered by my insurance. I was really pleasantly surprised! The staff was all super nice, check-in was quick and easy, and I was seen by the doctor quickly. I ordered a pair of glasses and it arrived within a week. Will be very happily continuing to go here for my annual appointment even though Dr. Ducklo himself has just retired. read more

My doctor was good and the staff was overall pleasant. I do not know who is managing this practice now, however - It seems to be a private equity group in control based on what the employees say. Whoever is managing the practice, seems to be valuing money over patient care. they to upsell during your visit Telling you you need certain tests that insurance will not cover.management seems to be requiring that the schedule get overbooked. This results in a long waits. I waited an hour with no offer of any way to make up for the waste of time. Even worse, the staff seems very distressed about the packed schedule and unhappy with the management themselves. I felt sorry for them when I witnessed how stressed they were. read more

If I could leave 10/5 stars I would! I came in with a massive corneal abrasion and am so grateful they made time to see me when they did. They took my concerns seriously and didn't make me feel like a burden for messing up their schedule with my emergency visit on a hectic snow day. Everyone was super caring and wonderful. read more

Overpriced, under value. They use text messaging to communicate. If for some reason you have been opted out you will not get any information. They had the audacity to call me and tell me that it was my fault and to opt in. They need to find a better way to communicate! read more

I've been going to Ducklo for 5 years now and I must say what a great experience every time. The staff is so friendly. No matter what type of silly questions I may have they are able to answer them all respectfully and detailed. Highly recommend! read more

Dr. Ducklo to the rescue! My husband was having a lot of trouble both with eye focus and eye irritation. He had cataract surgery a year or so, and the outcome, which was good eyesight initially, had deteriorated. Dr. Ducklo gave him a very thorough exam. My husband needed reading glasses, which seem to have resolved most of the problem. Also gave my husband some great eye drops that have calmed his itchy, irritated eyes. I have been going to Dr. Ducklo for many years and have always received great service from his kind and caring staff. read more

I just moved here from Arizona and was looking to find a new eye doctor. I don't normally write reviews but found the staff to be stellar so here I am. So glad I found Ducklo Eyecare. The whole process, and everyone involved was amazing, from being checked in, through the actual exam, to helping me find a great pair of glasses that worked for me, the whole staff was helpful, kind and would definitely recommend for those looking for an eyecare office in the Nashville area! read more

Worst way of dealing with patients. They force you to do exams that you don't need since you did it before and on the weekends they want just to change you extra since they don't have professional to do the exam read more

Visiting Nashville for a conference and I ruined my contacts - Stefan was a LIFESAVER! Thank you so much for rescuing me!

Great service very quick to get you back. Staff is very personal, I've been going here for over 10 years.

Dr Ducklo literally saved my eye/weekend, as I needed an emergency exam on a Saturday when nobody's office was open. I was in Nashville only for the weekend and woke up with a painful cornea abrasion from my contact Saturday morning. The drops helped save my eye and weekend from total catastrophe. Wow, what an incredible person! If I lived in Nashville he would be my new Dr. I can't thank Dr. D enough for all he did for us. Forever grateful that he called me back and helped me! read more

A few things led to me to Ducklo EyeCare despite not being a patient of Dr. Ducklo. 1.) My neighborhood eyewear store was turned into a pilates studio because 'East Nashville.' 2.) I wear the same frames (at least, they look the same) as 'Randall' on This Is Us and the look is working for me. 3.) I prefer old school glasses stores to the hip, modern enclaves of today. As to how I got here? Well, it involved some stairs, a fall straight out of a Zucker brothers movie, a wall that now needs a touch up, and my glasses. Knowing that the store at which I purchased my frames was no longer available, I searched online for another retailer. That wasn't as helpful as I would have imagined so then I recalled there's this feature on Yelp called 'Talk.' Maybe I could find some answers there. I could and I did. I'd never heard of Ducklo before but I was off to West End to see what I could find. Parking's pretty tight so either come equipped with quarters for the meters or some good luck to snag one of the handful of parking spaces in front of the store. I walked in and was pleased to find everyone to be very helpful and pleasant. The receptionist directed me to the back of the store (where they sell/service glasses). It was there that I met the famous Milly. She is a true gem: helpful, kind, resourceful, and never without a smile. I, sheepishly, showed her my glasses and she went to work. She determined that I didn't need new frames, just a part. She ordered it and I was on my way. A week or so later, the part was in. I came in for the repair and Milly was with another customer. Unfortunately the tech who assisted me in Milly's stead had some difficulty in replacing the part. I was going to need new frames. Since this change of events was not my fault, I wasn't responsible for the cost of the frames, just the part. Another week or so passed by and Milly gave me a call. The frames were in. I swung by, gave my name and old frames and prepared to wait a while. In no time, Milly was with me and I had new frames. She prepared to adjust the frames to my head, eyes and bridge nut she nailed it on the first try. I was back to having TV star glasses and, oh yeah, I could see again. All was well. If you're a fan of eyewear stores with heart and a real history with the city, Ducklo should be on your radar. From my visits, I can attest that the space is comfortable, the selection is large and the staff is great. Ask for Milly! read more

To start, Dr. Talley was great. I felt she was kind and helpful, and even went out of her way to tell me I qualified for medically necessary contacts and was able to have insurance cover my appointment AND a full year of contact lenses (Score!) Thought it was too good to be true, but she as well as her staff confirmed with my insurance company and reassured me I was covered. Great, right? Nope. Cut to a few months later and I get a bill for $167 to cover 6 months of contacts. Sigh. Called the office and let them know of medically necessary contacts. Great, great - we'll take care of it, they said. Cut to a few months later from that (now 8 months post my appt and receiving the contacts), and I get a "final notice" that the $167 is due to office, despite receiving a notice from my insurance company that they had covered it and I owed $0 to Ducklo. I call the office AGAIN, and hear a new script, that insurance isn't guaranteed and I'm liable for the charges. Quite a different tune from March. I'm then connected to the office manager and YALL, here's where we get into true 0-star territory. She read from her script about insurance coverage not being a guarantee, and repeatedly spoke over me, not letting me get a word in. When I said the staff reassured me, after checking with my provider, she told me I was lying, that the staff doesn't do that (despite not being present for this March conversation, hmm....) She continued with her horrible excuse for customer service, and we ended on me returning the contacts. I'm laughing as a write this because just WOW. Never have I been treated so poorly by small company, a health care provider. Nashville is known for being kind, but the way Ducklo runs their office you wouldn't know it. Long story short, I would urge you to look elsewhere for your eye care needs. I had several coworkers try to talk me out of trying Ducklo due to their own poor experiences, but naively figured I would be different. Lesson learned, never again, Ducklo. read more

Have been going for years and been quite pleased. The doctor's and equipment are second to none. My problem is that I am now on a limited income and was debating if I could continue to afford contacts. I got a specific quote of $45 for the exam and two boxes of contacts with my insurance, when I called. I set an appointment but when done was told I owed $65 before even paying for contacts. Sadly, I left without contacts. They have a customer service training opportunity. I hope they address it so no other customer gets mistreated like I did. read more

Great Optometrists with friendly staff. They are prompt and efficient, while still being thorough.

I can not say enough about this office. They are really top shelf. Beginning with the welcoming staff at the front desk to all the staff techs and the Docs. i've seen Dr Lemoncelli and she is great. Knowledgeable and compassionate, she has always been responsive to any fears or concerns i have had. Yesterday i misread my appt time and arrived a few hours early and they got me in within ten minutes. because i was so early I got Dr Talley and she is awesome as well. As a 'senior' i have questions about aging eyes and she was informative, understanding and encouraging as well !!! They are on the high end $$$ with their glasses, but if you have concerns or unusual vision issues or you just want to be seen by wonderful professionals...check these guys out. read more

I went here to get contacts for the first time and they worked with me for a long time to find the contacts that worked. I even came back several times cause after trying them for a few days they were uncomfortable. Since I was not used to contacts my eyes took a while to adjust and they helped me through that. Then with my glasses I had a particular pair I love and they did not carry. They tracked them down at another store and got them for me. When they started stretching out I went back in to have them pushed back in and they did it without any question or hardly any wait. The only reason I would give them five stars is because they are kind of expensive. read more

Dr. Ducklo and his staff have taken care of my eyes since my family and I moved here from Los Angeles almost 28 years ago. This group is absolutely first class in every respect, and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I am very grateful for the great service they provide every time.--Richard Green read more

I would not recommend services from this organization. The staff and office manager are way more concerned with billing and collection of cash than listening to the patient and trying to meet their clinical needs. I have been going here for years. Their new office manager makes it impossible to actually get the care I need for my challenging vision issues. I have already paid well over $300 cash in exams, refractions etc (that doesn't include what insurance has paid) in the last 3 months and still CANNOT see. I called again just a few minutes ago (per the Dr. instructions) letting them know I am still having issues. They want to charge me another $100 to examine AGAIN and refract AGAIN to try to help me. I'm really disappointed in this practice and the way that this practice has changed in the last several years. I am a nurse, I am also a clinical informaticist (I know billing rules, software, compliance for physicians, etc)....Save yourself frustration, months of your time and money and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are so many other providers in this field that are willing to do the right thing. Doing the right thing will ensure that you not only get paid appropriately, but will also ensure that you have patients in the future. I won't be back. read more

I have been going to Ducklo Eyecare for decades, along with the rest of my family. I want to Dr. Lemoncelli at the Ducklo Eye Care office and she was great- very thorough and nice. Her staff is also all very nice. I was not pleased, however, that the office was not on time- I waited almost 20 min past my appointment time. While I forgive this at the OB or something like that, there is no excuse for an eye doctor. read more

I've been going to Ducklo Eyecare for at least 25 years. Never waited more than a few minutes to start my appt. I feel like a friend more than just a patient there. I have also gotten excellent referrals to doctors and surgeons that I have needed for specialty care. read more

Terrible customer service. The sales person who was "helping" me didn't seem to understand their own promotion. I was promised a phone call to let me know when the glasses were done. I never got that. Furthermore, they took so long to get back to me that my daughter had already left for school before I finally got a hold of someone. The only positive thing I have to say is that they gave me a refund when I finally gave up and canceled my order. Take your business elsewhere if you want an actual pair of glasses. read more

I love this place! I went to get my eyes tested for the first time in 10 years since I wanted to take advantage of my vision insurance before I changed jobs. They fit me and my partner in with back to back appointments. AND we had to bring our 14 month old to the appointments. They were very accommodating of our family. They didn't flinch when he threw a toddler sized tantrum or when I breastfed him throughout the various tests. They let us do things a bit out of order to make keeping him happy and occupied easy. I had no idea how to pick glasses since I've never had to use them and they helped even while I was talking to the toddler in the middle of sentences. When I forgot to ask for transition lenses and had to call back days later to add that on, they accommodated that as well. I am still in the waiting period for my glasses, but so far for customer service and family friendliness I would give them 10 stars if I could. Having to take care of daily life with a toddler is very stressful, and they made me feel completely at ease! They also were very knowledgable about using my vision insurance (VSP) and my HSA to pay. Such a relief! read more

In my experience, Dr. Ducklo has been knowledgeable, funny and pleasant. I have felt comfortable getting my exams there.

Is less than one star. They took three appointments to get my contact prescription right (it didn't need to be changed in the first place-- finally came back to the one I already had). I got a prescription for my glasses and that was wrong, so I had to go back again (and pay for new lens), and I just now got the glasses and the prescription is STILL wrong-- and will need to pay to get them fixed again-- not to mention time and gas to their location. I wrote on their survey about some of the issues, but never received a followup or apology of any sort. I do NOT recommend this business at all. I gave them every chance to make it right and to no avail. My rating is a negative star! read more

I have been a client of Ducklo Eye Care for many years. They are always prompt and efficient for all my appointments. I have seen both Dr Ducklo and Dr Lemoncelli, and they are both great! Recently, I had a piece of a contact stuck in my right eye. I stopped by the office on Elliston Place, but didn't have an appointment. Dr Ducklo was in the lobby and overheard me telling the receptionist what had happened. He took me back immediately and got about a third of a contact out of my eye. I had quick and pleasurable relief! And, he wouldn't let me pay anything! Great people! read more
