First time here. Saw my insurance (VSP) worked well with Visionworks so I thought I would get my annual eye exam here. Located right on rainbow, off the 215-west freeway, across from the Arroyo Parkway shopping center. Once you open the doors, you're in the store front. Lots of glasses to choose from and staff within earshot. Check-in to see the optometrist is located towards the back. The nurse that helped me was friendly and happy to answer any questions or direct me to the right person to help answer them. Not using my insurance previously, I wanted to get some answers and everyone I spoke with tried to help answer them. Dr. Helen Knisley was my optometrist. She was sweet, kind and full of information. She explained everything to me thoroughly. I felt at ease as she walked me thru everything. I was impressed with the machine that helps adjust your lenses as it was done digitally instead of manually. Great experience! read more

It was very lopsided due to me damaging the glasses and other places couldn't do much about it, but Donna was able to fix it very well, said it was malleable, and now it sits on my face without too much of a tilt. Stay away from their Dragon eyeglass frames they are garbage. Initial pair on 3/1/2024 lasted just a few months when the right arm cracked off the frame under normal use. The store said oh no you must have done something to cause it. My insurance paid for a replacement pair of same. Now 4 months later the second exact same frame breaks at the exact same place. Im wearing glasses for 30 years never broke a frame before. 8 month 2 pair cracked same spot. $700 dollars down the drain. Their response is I should have paid for replacement insurance, no you shouldn't be selling garbage frames! Done with Visionworks. read more

When I was taking a nap, I forgot to set my glasses aside & rolled over on them & smooshed them when I woke up :( I walked into this location out of sorts because new glasses cost me about $750, but the people working this day saw that I was upset & they told me they would just replace the frames & gave me a 60% off discount. I was truly grateful for their excellent customer service & most of all, their empathy. This is why I've been coming to this company for over 10 years now. This is an amazing and affordable place to get glasses and contacts especially if you do t have insurance. They run a special for an exam that is $59 & their most expensive frames are $250. They also usually have coupons or specials to give you a 50% or 60% discount. I never wore glasses growing up and my first experience getting glasses was somewhere else. I got upselled on everything. With two insurances aka double coverage my out of pocket for one pair of glasses was $700.00. Granted they were Gucci, it was a lot. I don't have eye insurance right now and found out about this office from a family member. It is really busy, but very clean, organized, and professional. They had COVID restrictions in place like temperature checks and sanitizing glasses that were tried on. They have a huge selection of glasses ranging from entry level Dragon to more high end brands like Lacoste, Calvin Klein, and Ray Ban. The range in price is like $75-$250 max for frames. I was in the office in January and got a pair of Ray Bans ($250.00) plus my exam fee for about $150. This is because they were offering a coupon. I went in recently due to a scratch and saw they were still offering the same discount. They were able to order me a brand new pair due to a 100 day warranty but I also know they offer a $30 warranty which is what compelled me to right this review. Needing glasses is something fairly new to me. Being "blind" sucks. I mean knowing I always have to have glasses sucks! Knowing places like this exist that is affordable to anyone makes me really happy. Sure , I got Ray Bans, but I could have gotten an exam and their standard entry level glasses and only spent about $100. For medical care and hardware that's so cheap! If you go to a PCP for a yearly exam it costs more than that! & your glasses should last a couple years. Anyways, end rant LOL. If anyone needs an eye exam or new glasses I highly recommend this place. They have an amazing staff & the doctor is very nice and personable. The equipment is all updated and they are very thorough. I'd give more than 5 stars if possible! After using cheaper online companies like EyeBuyDirect and Zenni over the past few years (my young daughter would always find a way to break daddy's glasses so cheap and multiple pairs were the way to go), I decided to go to Visionworks. After getting my eyes tested, I was seen right way and worked with multiple staff members but Toni left a wonderful impression. She outlined my employer's benefit plan (they'd never seen a plan like mine before lol!) and helped finesse the order sequence of my glasses. I ended up getting three pairs of name brand glasses because of the partnership of VSP and Visionworks. Here's where they earned a fictitious 6th star. I ordered my glasses the Saturday before Thanksgiving (11/20/21). I needed new glasses for my wedding in NYC-- where we were leaving on 11/29/21 (just 3 business days later!). Toni did her magic and requested that the pair I needed go expedited (at no extra cost). She beat her promise. ALL THREE PAIRS were in store by Black Friday (11/26/21). All the glasses were cut perfectly (better than the inconsistent pairs I've gotten from EyeBuyDirect or Zenni). My family and I will be going here moving forward-- in fact my wife just went back for her own vision needs a few weeks ago. read more

I didn't quite understand how my eye care insurance worked, and they very quickly got me up to speed! After a very fun and personalized walk thru some frames, I picked a great pair. Pretty disappointed that supposedly VSP and Visionworks are one so I thought I would find value here. Not the case whatsoever. They wanted over $800 for two pairs of glasses. I thought that would be for TWO people. Alas, it was for one! No problem paying that for two people. Not for one! This is with insurance mind you. Got two pairs of Michael Kors glasses for $533 with all the bells and whistles from a high-end place in North Vegas. No Chanel, Tiffany, high end at Visionworks; but high-end pricing. My first time going to Visionworks and it will not be my last! All the staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. The optometrist was great and made us feel at ease, even sent me home with some eye drops for my dry eyes. There are so many styles and brands of glasses to choose from, and so amazingly affordable with my insurance plus additional discounts stacked on top of that. I had the opportunity to visit this office a couple times, for my exam and to pick up my glasses. The optometrist, she was great. Took time with me and referred me to a specialist for an issue I'd had but no one had done that before. I'd call that special! When it came time to pick frames, a lady with awesome hair helped me... she's a unicorn (honest compliment), and she knows what she's doing! I know that healthcare is expensive, and she helped me get what I needed while getting the best out of my benefits. Love it! I read another review that commented about the young ladies behind the reception desk ... I tend to agree. A little more proactive customer service would be great. But this was the best part for me: I had to come back and pick a new frame because there was a mishap. I wasn't tripping, it happens. By the time my new specs were ready, I had moved to a different state. My worry was having to drive several hundred miles to pick them up. I made one call and spoke to Hannah. This is the second time I have come to this location. The first time I made an appointment was 5 minutes late and didnt get seen until 40 minutes later. Which I understood (granted walk-ins were taken before me). The Buy one get one deal did not have a disclaimer that the second pair is for the $69 frames which is a limited selection this was pretty misleading. Flash forward to today, at 4:15ish I picked up my contact trials and was told I needed a follow up. I have had glasses and contacts pretty much my entire life and have never needed a followup for finalizing my contacts RX. Dont know who the girl was at the doctors counter but asked if I wanted a copy of my prescription, I declined knowing I had one on file at home, however I did not know I needed a copy to purchase frames. Would have been nice to know as she saw me looking at frames. I go to purchase frames after waiting for a 30 minutes to be helped all to find out that the doctors office girl left and I cant purchase the frames without an RX. It seems that there is a disconnect in communication between the doctors side and the frames side which is frustrating. I was advised to come back tomorrow. Complete waste of my time. No apologies from staff. I wanted to go to this location as it is close to my home but it seems like they dont want my money. Only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the staff (on the frames side) was nice and helpful not only to me but to other customers. read more

I visited this location before my yearly benefits were up and did a glasses exam, at the time i didn't get checked for contacts but told them i would come back to do that. Everything went great that visit. Fast forward 6 months later i go back to do my contacts, they tell me that I'm not eligible for it because it's been longer than 3 months since i came and that i would have to pay $140 out of pocket to get an exam because they don't just offer contact exams. At the initial visit they didn't mention that i had a timeframe to come back and do the contact exam nor did they explain to us that they don't only offer contact exams that it would have to be for both glasses and contacts. Now i have to wait the full year to get contacts because we were not explained that at the initial visit and I was completely blindsided after driving 30 minutes to an appointment i wasn't even able to complete. read more

Dona was the rudest employee I have ever delt with. When I went back to pick up my frames she corrected me and I felt so belittled I felt the need to apologize and she said nothing. The manager noticed this happening and all she did was have me write down my name and phone number on a post it. Never received a call or apology. I have been wearing contacts for 10 years and have had a lot of eye exams but I feel like this one was the best I ever had. The doctor took her time and made sure I was happy. This was my first time at Visionworks. What a great experience! I received a friendly greeting as soon as I walked in the door. The employees and the doctor are wearing masks and also provide gloves for everyone's safety. I was early for my appointment and they took me right away. All the staff was very kind and appeared to genuinely care. Very professional and also made me feel welcome. They all seem to really enjoy their job. It was a great vibe. Dr. Helen Kinsley is just awesome! Very kind and helpful. Took the time to make suggestions about eye care for dry eyes. Also showed me the XRay of my eye and talked to me about overall eye health. She is professional, kind, down to earth, extremely knowledgeable and was willing to take her time to answer all my questions. Never once did I feel rushed. I received a complimentary sample for eye drops. When it came to checking out, they thoroughly explained my insurance coverage options. Also provided some coupons before I left. Not happy with this place, I had an appointment scheduled for 5:20. I got there, filled out the necessary paperwork and completed the auto-refraction. They asked me to browse for glasses while I was waiting to be called in for my exam.. as I proceeded to do. I probably tried on at least 30 pairs before I was called into my exam, the doctor asked me to just leave the 5 pairs I had chosen to try on again after my appointment and I can go back to them after my exam. At this time, it was 6:00. My exam went well, pretty quick and harmless. I walked back out to the waiting area for my styling and was told they were closed, they closed at 6! So, why would you schedule my appointment for 5:20, have me browse for frames, call me into my exam at 6:00 only to tell me you close at 6:00 and will have to come back another day?! I have a very tight schedule, I can't just come back to finish the appointment. Very, very unprofessional! I was previously an optical technician for an optometrist office and I honestly just cannot believe how this office is ran. The scheduling is crap.. most people in my office have gone to this location and none of us will be coming back here. read more
