The phone staff is awesome, especially Addison. Thank god there is no automated system...this is where Urban Optics goes above and beyond. The contact fitting went super well (once again thanks to Hunter) and I'm loving the dailies Dr. McClain picked out. There are no hidden costs here -- everything is upfront and clear. I never felt as if I was being price gouged. I even got a $3,000 eye drop prescription for $0 (thanks to the doc and my insurance). I'm happy to call this place my favorite optometry practice! Each staff member was friendly and helpful, and Dr. Young was kind and professional. My surgery was two days ago -- easy and painless, and less than two hours from walking in to walking out. The tech did most of the tests with me and then at one point she brought me out to the hallway and put my up to a machine. I had never seen that before and wasn't sure what it was. But didn't think to much about it. The Doctor came in and stated everything looked good same as last year. A few little floaters and the beginning of cataracts, said the same thing last year, gave me a script for glasses, same as last year. Went out to pay my copay. The lady at the desk said they weren't sure what the bill was due to they had to process it through my insurance. My eyes were dilated so again just went on my merry way. 3 weeks later I get a bill for $165.00. I was very confused. Called them. The first lady stated that it looked like they put it through the wrong insurance as she can see the one from last year. Then I got a call from another lady that stated yes, it was the way it was coded and that to put it through the other insurance would be a difficult, but she will pass it along to someone for further explanation. Then I get a woman called Mona, she stated that the Doctor determined it was medical (even though he saw me for about 5 minutes). I said just to put it through my other insurance. She said that's insurance fraud. So I said well, I'm not paying it, have the tech pay for it. She said no, we can't due that and hung up on me. Then I get a text from a collection company, I saw the Doctor on 6/22/2026. After calling both insurance places. I'm stuck with the bill. They never communicated to me that I would have a bill and that my eye appointment was a medical issue. The refraction test is extra that was not communicated as well nor did I get the results from it. They did say that they will take $29.00 off for the refraction. Make sure you ask questions and don't assume. Needless to say I will not be back , its a shame due to that I really liked the Doctor.

For those thinking about going here, I'd say that you can expect a smooth experience with open and caring arms waiting for you. From making my appt. online to the text communication everything was great. When I arrived, I was greatly promptly by the receptionist. My eye technician was Alecia. She was the sweetest young woman ever. She was very thorough in explaining all the procedures I was going to have done. She even recommended some eye drops that were better than my current ones. Dr. Mays was equally as great. He blew my mind as he told me I sleep w/ my eyes only 3/4 off the way shut & this could be creating some dryness !! WHAT ?!?! No one has EVER told me that, including the follow up at my LASIK center. He recommended several ways for me to address this. I highly recommend Crystal Vision & their team for all your vision & eye needs. I wish more businesses were this customer focused !!!

They had some temp optometrists for a couple of years (when I went) that I contemplated going back to Scott and White. Then Dr. Lamb came and the entire place turned into a gem. She is upbeat and positive and most of all listens to her patients. She's patient and let me come back and tweak my contact lens's prescription which other doctors don't like to do as I need both far and near vision correction with a touch of astigmatism. I've also noticed a change in staff attitude, too. They are all now friendly and super helpful. Hannah in particular is a super associate - she is always very knowledgeable and helpful but today she saved my day when I got red eye and needed some problem solving before my international trip tomorrow. My husband got his glasses with them too and had similar great experience.

8.29.24 Picking up my new glasses…read more I came in and picked up my 3 new pairs of glasses. 2 prescription sunglasses - 1 Rayban and the other DKNY and some regular glasses I use for night driving. I am one of those people who actually uses the glass cases and the cleaning cloth. The Rayban pair came with a nice case but the DKNY pair did not. I was a little disappointed in that. They said they do not even send them any. That's lame. All in all, good service. So far I am very happy with all my glasses. I would recommend them.
