Customer service from their optical store is #1! Daniel and Ariana go out of their way to listen and help you pick out the best eyewear - and as a bonus - they will help with repair! I have shopped all over Cstat and they are the best! read more

Fantastic quality of care. Going to Dr. Shini for more than 20 years now. This is the one provider in town who never failed us...always on time, amazing professional eye insights, patient-centered service, comprehensive yet reasonable approach. Did I say his personality is grounded, friendly, educated and truly oriented towards client needs? Keeps up to date with the latest in his training area. Their new location is carefully and aesthetically planned! I highly recommend him to friends and colleagues. read more

I am from out of town but needed new glasses and went here while I was in town. I paid $1,000 for an eye exam and new glasses here in May. I called a week after I got them and told them the reading portion was not strong enough but that I would not be back in town until the fall. They have the call documented. I just went to have the reading portion re-done and since it has been 90 days (never mentioned in first call) they want to re-charge me the full $1,000 to fix them. They did the eye exam incorrectly and I am expected to eat the cost beyond having classes that were useless all summer! I always try to support local businesses rather than large chain stores when I can but in this case it was an expensive mistake! read more

The staff saw me promptly! They were very professional, and very kind! They were reassuring, and helpful! I will most definitely be back! We make a drive from an hour and a half away because we believe so strongly in the people that work here! The doctor is brilliant, laid back, and kind! The visit was wonderful! read more

See all

These guys are the best! I have seen Dr. Shini for 10+ years and this time I saw Dr. Zike. He was thorough, prompt, and explained everything so well. He listened to what I had to say and was patient and I did not feel rushed through my appointment. If it says anything about this office, my family and I drive in from Austin, just to have our eyes checked because they are the best of the best. read more

This group is extremely professional and thorough. I have always been seen promptly and I can tell the staff here truly cares. I highly recommend Eye Trends College Station. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Shini! I have been going to him for over 10 years. My eyes are changing due to age and it's very frustrating. Each time he answers all my questions and explains all the options to help my current vision issues. Courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. read more

I'm new to Dr Shini. Great team! Super service, professional, took time to educate me so I could understand choices. Wonderful experience!!!

Dr Shini and his staff make a visit to the eye doctor a pleasant experience. Customer service is great, from the care you receive from the doctor to the help of staff in picking out a new pair of frames. Dr Shini takes the time to answer any questions you may have and goes above and beyond by explaining things, making recommendations for good eye health, etc Highly recommend!!! read more

Dr. Shini did a long and careful eye exam. I have astigmatism and cataracts. He showed me images of my eyes and clearly explained my condition. He took time to get me the right lens correction (other docs have sometimes rushed this and I ended up with lens that weren't quite right). Ann from the staff helped me pick out frames and found two that looked great on me. read more

Amazing, both the staff and the doctor were great and professional, highly recommend it

I would definitely recommend this place to you all. I firstly visited A&M school health center after my right eye gets infected, but my right eye still feels pain and is sensitive to light. Then the school doctor refers me to an eye specialist in Eye Trends. The place is nice. The doctor and the staff here are friendly and polite, they give me a professional check and well explain my pathogen. And my school insurance covers most of the fee, it is affordable. read more

Dr. Shini is amazing! My contacts weren't working well for night time driving and I HATE driving with glasses. Dr. Shini took the time to explain to me exactly why my lenses were giving me so much glare and tried out several options. I now have contacts that are comfortable and give me great vision day or night. I love that he not only fixed the problem, but explained the optics. read more

Dr. Zike and the staff at Eye Trends are amazing: friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

The doctor in TAMU Health Center recommended Dr Shini. Actually he is quite nice and patient, so do the other staff here.

LOVE this place! The customer service here - which lacks here in the BCS - is off the charts: the staff here is GREAT! Great selection of frames and I really appreciate Dr. Shini's thoroughness! This place is a gem! read more

Great staff. Dedicated to making your visit great. Dr Shini is kind and extremely patient. I feel that he worked very hard to meet my needs.

My husband and I drive two hours to come and see Dr. Shini. He is the most thorough optometrist I have ever seen. He is kind and very considerate and has always treated us with the utmost kindness and respect. His office staff are super helpful and competent and they will not sell you things that you do not need. No price gouging, and I appreciate that. They have a great selection of frames and other eye care products. My hubby and I get both regular glasses, and sunglasses from Eye Trends. My husband also buys his safety glasses there as well. This is a GREAT place to get an examination and purchase all of your eye wear needs. read more

Staff were very helpful and friendly. They also carry certain brands that none of the other shops in the area seem to carry (OGI, Ted Baker) and a broader spectrum of styles. read more

Dr. Shini is a fantastic eye doctor. He's very passionate about eyes and loves sharing his knowledge and makes it interesting to listen to! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and help pick out frames. I hate seeing an eye doctor like most people hate seeing a dentist, but Dr. Shini makes the appointment comfortable and is very patient in switching between "1" or "2", confirming your choices along the way to make sure your glasses will work how they need to! read more

Dr. Shini Shanai is an amazing doctor! He's very easy going and friendly. I would definitely recommend Eye Trends to anyone.

Dr. Zike was extremely thorough and informative during the visit. The office is neat and orderlly. Office staff was friendly. Highly recommend this practice. read more

Love love love this place! They were very helpful with making my appointment, picking out frames, and discussing all of my options with me. Another great thing about them is they accept TriCare! Not very many eye doctors in College Station accept TriCare vision insurance. They also have great, affordable prices! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

The staff in this office is friendly, professional and helpful. Top notch at helping to pick out frames. But the real 5 star person in this office is Dr. Shini. He is devoted to his patients and extremely well respected throughout the eye medical care community in Bryan/College Station. He will not accept anything but the best vision for you-no matter how many changes have to be made. He has made my vision issues manageable when others gave up on helping me, or worse, would not even take the time to help. read more

This sounds weird as I type this, but I look forward to my eye exams with Dr. Shini. I don't just walk out please with the service and my vision, but I learn something new and important each time I visit. At least from my experience I don't know how they'd do a better job. read more

Everyone here is great! They all listen to your concerns and worries. If you need help figuring out which glasses match your face best, they will willingly help you. Such a wonderful place! read more

Previously, I went to one of those eye care clinics where you are on an assembly line, sit here, wait over there, go to this room, now this room, pay, and then out you go... whew! I'm sure that's an efficient way of processing a lot of patients but I much prefer the environment at Dr. Shini's eye clinic. It is much more relaxed. Dr. Shini is very knowledgeable, available, and very thorough. This is where I will be going from now on. read more

Dr. Shini puts you at ease. Very attentive, thorough, and quick. Need I say more? Oh, and by the way: this place has a great selection of glasses. I'm VERY picky and I found tons of frames that I would definitely wear. Without a doubt, a very good experience. read more

Dr. Shinni & his staff have been great. I had an eye exam and was fitted for complicated bifocal contacts. Dr. Shinni refined the prescription until I had great vision for reading a book, working w/ the computer and driving. He was very patient and explained things very well. He took quality time in getting my eyesight the best it could be. I highly recommend him. read more

This place is great. It took me about 2 weeks to get an appointment but that is the case about anywhere in BCS. I sign in wait a minute or two, see the doctor within 5 minutes and am out the door in 20. Instead of asking me what I wanted to order they told me what the insurance would pay and what my out of pocket costs would be with which packages. Very helpful and friendly. read more

Dr. Shini and his staff are really amazing. I moved to College Station from Washington DC where I had a long-standing relationship with my Optometrist. I have found the perfect replacement, conveniently located in the Kroger shopping center at Rock Prairie and Hwy 6! Dr. Shini is professional, kind and courteous. In both my initial and followup appointments he took his time to assure that the exam, contact lens fitting and tests were done properly and expertly. He provided very good information on best ways to use my contacts during both day and night conditions. In the decades I've been wearing them, I've never had that level of attention to detail and advice. His staff are very helpful and the selection of glasses is exceptional - from Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and other non-designer offerings. Rather than sending them out, Dr. Shini and his staff make all glass lens in-house - a plus for exceptional fit and service. The turn-around time is best I've encountered. Finally, the prices are excellent on the exams, contact lens fitting, lenses and glasses. Dr. Shini has earned a new loyal customer, they get my highest rating and I recommend them highly! read more

As a new patient I was able to make an appointment in a reasonable time. The office is very inviting and clean and the staff was very pleasant and professional. Dr. Shini was very professional and helpful spending a lot of time to make sure my eyesight was the best possible but he was able to explain in terms I could understand. I saw the reviews when looking for a new dr and Eye Trends is the real deal! read more

Great service, convenient. I love that they have extended office hours so I don't have to take leave from work. I've been going there for years and would highly recommend Eye Trends. read more

I was recommended to Dr Shini by one of my husband's co-workers since we are new in town. I'M SO HAPPY I went there! The doctor was patient (unlike other optometrists which can make you feel like a bother when you are trying to get through your eye exam for your Rx). His staff was also knowledgeable and helpful in explaining my insurance coverage and walking me through the first time trying on contacts. I also picked out some nice frames and got a call back in about an hour saying they were ready!! My husband and I will be going back there for sure. read more

Very professional. No ridiculous charges (a local eye dr once charged me $25 because I didn't know my current contact prescription). Modern office and equipment. Dr. Shimi takes the time to explain vision changes that happen in my age category, as well as health issues that could also be present with certain vision changes. Very informative about my total health. read more
