It was a fun experience with a place that really like family. I really enjoyed the professionalism within getting prepared to wear contacts.

I booked an appointment based on them telling me that my insurance covered the visit. After the visit, they told me they made a mistake, and my insurance didn't cover it, and billed my for the appointment. I never would have seen them if I knew they didn't take my insurance. When I told them I didn't think I should pay for their mistake, they told me they would speak with their office manager. I didn't hear back, and then a month later I get a letter from a collections agency. This is a dishonest practice read more

Initially, I left a bad review. Once the manager saw it (yes, she actually reads the reviews ), she immediately reached out to me and began to work to rectify my concerns. AND, when I needed to bring my glasses back in to have some adjustments made, those adjustments were taken care of at no cost. The staff went above and beyond to show, not just say, that they were genuinely apologetic for the experience I had before. I truly appreciate the generosity and professionalism that has been shown. I went here two years ago and had a average experience. The doctor pushed a chiropractor friend on me, which I didn't appreciate.... but the exam was OK. The real reason I chose this place was the great selection of glasses. I called today to see about getting new contacts and was informed that A&M employee insurance is no longer excepted because they could not stay in business if they accepted it. The university and its students, staff and faculty are what makes the economy of this city.... so I was pretty disappointed that they were unwilling to provide a reasonably priced service for its employees. I like to support local Aggie businesses, but Precision Eye Care doesn't seem to care about supporting fellow Aggies and gives no apologies. ETA: Since writing this review Precision Eye Care contacted me. Even though the receptionist seemed very unapologetic for not taking A&M insurance the owner informed me that "Texas A&M is moving to EyeMed insurance, and [they] are providers for Eyemed" and that they "very much care for the university, its professors, staff, and students." I thought it was kind of them to contact me and address the problems I had, so I changed the review from 1 to 3 stars. While I will continue to take my business elsewhere, I wanted everyone to know that they did what they could to fix my issues (even if I did have to write a nasty review first). read more

I went to PEC to get my glasses adjusted. The good news: I no longer suffer headaches from wearing them. The bad news: they constantly slip down my nose. It's mildly annoying when I read, but much better than the splitting headaches I would get (apparently from an overzealous set of nose rests). It's not for lack of trying on the part of the optician. In fact, she readjusted the frames more than 5 times (I lost count). In fact, she worked on the glasses for an hour. It wasn't until 30 minutes in when I suggested she perhaps use my old frames as a model (she wasn't making much progress, and I thought a half hour was a bit much to still not have glasses that fit right). By the end of an hour, I had to leave. I figured the lack of headache was enough and the need to have my glasses stay on my face was a less pressing concern, and not worth another hour of my time. In all, I think their name, "Precision," rings true. If you have other things to do in your day, however, I would recommend finding a more efficient front office. I also wasn't a fan of their selection (regardless of the price range). Maybe I'm picky. We just love everyone here at Precision Eye Care! My whole family comes here for glasses, exams and/or vision therapy. We've been to several eye doctors throughout the years and Dr. Januskey and her team are by far the best we've ever had!! My son had seen tremendous results with vision therapy here. My student at Texas A&M recently visited Dr. Lisa Januskey at Precision Eye Care. She was not able to diagnose the cause of blurred vision, but did prescribe steroid drops. In addition, Dr Januskey was unable to answer basic questions about prognosis. After a second opinion visit with an eye doctor in Austin, the condition was very quickly diagnosed as a common corneal infection and the appropriate medication was prescribed. I would not entrust Precision Eye Care with basic family eye health needs. read more

Upscale, family-run business! I walked in with my 6month old baby SO nervous. He has a genetic condition that led to one of his eyes not forming properly. At 6 months old he's got his first prosthetic eye and needless to say protecting that good eye is a HUGE priority. The gentleman that helped me was the nicest you man. I think his name was Kyle. He was so loving with my baby, and super knowledgeable about the brand I was looking for. The owner came over to talk with me too. We connected around our large families, talked about work, life, and he and his wife's involvement with Evening Lions Club. As I looked around I noticed that they carried a ton of high-end brands. (The kinds of things you don't expect to see in college station.) In fact, they are the only place within 90 miles that carried the special branch my son needed. So, great family, helpful staff, and amazing selection!! We will be repeat customers for sure. read more

I can't recommend Precision Eyecare. The eye appointment itself went fine, but the staff, doctor, and techs all engage in pressure sales and upselling eye ware. I had to continually turn down the same premium extras. The office even called me back the next day to try to sell me something I had turned down three times at the appointment. The whole experience left me feeling uncomfortable and stressed out. My advice: have your apt in one place and buy your eye ware somewhere else. read more

Super unprofessional, I had to have some results faxed over to their office. I had to call the appointment desk three times to see if they got the paper work, because she wouldn't do her job. This place is a joke the doctor is nice but needs better help up front. Not to mention the second time I went the Latino middle aged lady was trying to undress my husband with her eyes. When my husband says that he had to say Hi to her and then give her a look like stop checking him out like a piece of candy lol. Like I said super unprofessional. Won't be back! read more

Overall we had a good experience. Yes, we waited for a few moments to be seen, but it was an unreasonable amount of time and I feel like that is to be expected. Dr. J is very pleasant and thorough. She did not try to sell us anything extra. We ordered my sons glasses on Saturday and they were ready to be picked up on Wednesday. They do have a good selection of designer frames. My only complaint is I feel like they should also carry more stylish affordable frames. I don't care about brand name I want style & quality. read more

I ordered a pair of sunglasses and was told they would arrive in a few weeks. When they did not arrive on time, I called and was told the lab messed up and they should be in soon. Still no sunglasses. I called and was told by the manager Christina, "they have left the lab and should be in on Friday. Further, she stated due to all of the trouble with my order, they would be refunding the costs of the sunglasses and would give them to me at no charge when they arrived. I was impressed with their service recovery. However, when they "credited" my account they actually "debited my account. I called and they sincerely apologized and assured me the total amount (now close to $800) would be refunded. It was. I called back on the next Mon/Tues (after glasses were to be received on Friday) to check on the sunglasses and was told they are not in yet. Today, (Thursday) I received a letter from Dr. Januskey dropping me as patient. I never received the "free" sunglasses I was promised for all my trouble by Christina the manager. So I have to assume the attempt at service recovery was insincere. They placed some misinformation on their website's review page in reply to my review. They stated I declined the glasses at no charge - that is not true. They also stated I asked them to come in an hour early to refund my account - that is not true. I called and left a voicemail with Dr. Januskey re: my situation and she never called me - all I got from her was a letter dropping me a patient stating among other things, "we think you would be better served elsewhere". Yes, Dr. Januskey I hope I will be better served elsewhere. read more

This was the worst possible experience with an eye care place that we have ever had! We were new to the area and had heard about this place and decided to give it a try. The only positive thing I can say is that they have a decent selection of glasses (that is if you want to pay an unreasonable amount for a pair of glasses). They take you around to look at the glasses they pick out for you and do not let you look on your own. We ended up getting convinced to pay way more for glasses than we ever had before. So, I'm thinking okay, we'll give it a try. After all, they were pretty nice glasses. So, a few weeks goes by and we get a phone call that our glasses are ready to be picked up. I barely get out the door, open up the glasses case and there is a HUGE and I mean HUGE chunk out of the lenses!! I mean, I don't see how they missed it, not to mention why didn't they take the glasses out and show them to you like every other place? So, I go back in to tell them and they say they will fix them. Ok, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. So, we wait another week or two and get another phone call "your glasses are ready" so we go in to get them. Again they did not show them to me and this time I figured they would really be fixed this time (they couldn't possibly mess up two times in a row, right?). Well, so my child puts them on and he starts having major, I mean MAJOR headaches! Of course, with new glasses your eyes take time to adjust I get that. Well, after many days of migraines pretty much I decide something's wrong. We go BACK in to the office and some older dude is there. He tells us that the major migraines he's having are completely normal. What? I knew that wasn't right, but somehow, I have no idea how, he convinced us of that and we left. My child continued to wear them for about a month. The headaches finally got a little better and during that time, I happened to be cleaning his glasses for him one day and guess what I notice?? You guessed it! The chunk, still there, but much smaller. I guess they thought we wouldn't notice. Also, now, the screw is popping out! By this time, I've had enough and decide we need our money back and we need to go see someone else. We have now found an awesome eye doctor & eye care place that I could not be more happy with however in the mean time, we have also discovered that the prescription Precision gave us was wrong hence all the headaches and also the lenses didn't even match their OWN prescription!! Moral of the story....do not go to Precision Eye Care! There are many other wonderful eye places in town and the reviews speak for themselves (see other reviews before mine). read more

This was my first real visit to an eye doctor in many years. I thought the staff was very cheerful and professional. Dr. J was really knowledgeable and thorough in discussing the exam results and my options. Although I wound up being recommended for glasses (ugh), the staff took most of the sting out of that sad reality. They weren't pushy about which frames or lenses I should get... they just gave me the facts and let me figure out what seemed right for me. Although you can certainly get some cheap-o glasses at those McGlasses shops around town, I see now the benefit of a premium product with a solid store backing up the warranty. Solid, clear, no-scratch lenses are awesome! If you just barely need glasses or you plan to break or lose them often, I can see going to the one-hour shops. But if you want upper-end lenses and frames helping you see under all conditions, and a staff that knows their stuff, I'd go to someplace like Precision Eyes. P.S. - Loved the optomap! No dilation for me! That alone was worth the price of admission. read more

Not sure why the reviews have been harsh. I've been coming here for the last 3-4 years and have been happy thus far. Dr. Januskey does a thorough job with my eye exams and seems to care about the health of my eyes. I would definitely recommend her if anyone asks me for a good optometrist in town. read more

Staff was super nice and knowledgeable, and I barely had to wait at all. They were patient in trying to find the right contact prescriptions for my eyes. The only negative is that the frames were super expensive, even with insurance. I was able to find the exact same frames and lenses online for $150 cheaper. read more

I just had an appointment today and they were absolutely wonderful! I had had something in my eye that was really painful for almost 24 hours and visited the St. Joseph's Clinic this morning and after poking, prodding, dying and numbing my eye they found nothing and said I had an infection and gave me antibiotics. I did not believe this was true so I made an appointment with Dr. Januskey (an Aggie) at Precision. First of all, the receptionist that I spoke to was the sweetest and most polite person I have ever talked to at a doctors office. They took almost all of my info over the phone so I didn't have to write for hours when I got there. When I arrived every person behind the counter was smiling which made me feel better because I was in pain and had never really been to an eye doctor without my mom (people touching my eyes makes me nervous). The forms they gave me were really short and they were dry erase! Apparently they are trying to use less paper so you write on reusable sheets and they scan it into your file-- everything is electronic! The visit itself was great. Dr. Januskey was incredibly nice! She took the time to really listen to what I was saying and then she explained everything she was doing. She was able to pull a small piece of plastic out of my eye without any dye, numbing, or anything! I feel so much better already! They also seemed to have a really big selection of frames and high tech software to choose a pair if you want to use it! It looked really cool. The office, exam room, and waiting room were all very clean but welcoming and modern. There is a kids play table in the waiting room which is between the exam rooms and the reception. It's nice not being stared at while at reception filling out paperwork! Overall, I had a wonderful experience here and would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an eye doctor! -- and it is Aggie owned and operated! Whoop! read more

This is probably the best eye doctor I have been to. My vision is not good and I have never had contacts lenses that I could actually see out of until now. Dr. Janusky spent far more time with me trying to get the best prescription possible with many small adjustments until she was sure we had it right.
