I had an amazing experience at Visionworks. As someone with an extremely strong prescription since elementary school, going to the eye doctor has always been a little daunting for me. Visionworks completely changed my view on that. First, I was greeted by Noemi who carefully explained the process of my eye exam. I looked around the vast selection of glasses until the doctor took me back for my exam. The doctor not only made sure to triple check my prescription to get it right, she thoughtfully explained how to care for my eyes with such a high prescription and astigmatism. Not only that -- she was so nice and funny! It felt like I was talking to a friend. Finally, Lisa helped me pick out the perfect pair of frames. I had no idea how much thought should go into your frames! Nobody has ever explained that process in as great of detail as Lisa. She took into account my face shape, strong prescription, and style wants. I'm fully in love with my glasses, and that's something I never thought I'd say. Such a seamless process from start to finish!! Although I live far, the trip was so worth it and I can't wait to be back to pick up my glasses. read more

Dr. Sun I saw last year 2025 after I went to another Dr because the last one wouldn't update my prescription because I now have diabetic eyesight. I went from single vision to progressive. I'm happy Dr. Sun understood my plight for getting the correct prescription but progressive frames I really hated. I couldn't really see well out of them. I just couldn't get out of the curve with this point your eye in the direction you want to see and everything else is blurry. So on 2/20/26 I saw Dr. Martinez she is an absolute gem I told her off the bat I hated the progressive lenses and that I wanted to get separate eyewear. The exam went well until my astigmatism has gotten worse which I kind of expected. I affirmed I wanted the glasses separate with readers and distance frames. Dr. Martinez understood. I went to order the frames with I think it was the manager Lisa. I made an order for distance frames originally my insurance covered the nearly $900 pair so I went and ordered readers also from the $199 in store promotion because my insurance would've only been an extra 20% off with VSP. I told her I wanted to buy Meta frames and get the prescription in them so wanted all the prescriptions for what I had ordered to make my order the same day. I made my order online an hour after my appointment. On Monday I got the production email and it said progressive prescription on my receipt. I called the office to ask what did I order because I said I specifically hated the progressive frames because I couldn't see well in them. The person on the phone said I ordered the distance and readers. I asked what prescription was I given because I just uploaded the prescription to meta site and paid nearly $700 for them to make my frames. It was a multi focal prescription now I'm going to have expensive frames that I hate because I was given the wrong prescription by the lady but it's also my fault because I just trusted that she gave me the correct prescription of what I placed my orders with which were distance and readers. I just hope I will be able to see with the pairs I ordered in store because now I'm at a lost because 1 person gave me the wrong prescription for a $700 item. 2/26/26 here now to pick up 1 pair of glasses and spoke to the Lisa she said she didn't clearly understand when I said I wanted the prescription that I ordered so no accountability there. Dr Sun is giving the exam for my daughter but Lisa office manager I don't want to deal with any further for my second pickup for my glasses order. I would not recommend this optometry office to anyone. I took my 11 year old daughter here today for contacts since she plays travel sports and her glasses kept breaking. Despite me paying a copay and ordering contacts from this optometry office (even though they charge more than DOUBLE the amount of what 1-800 contacts charges), this office has the nerve to only give my daughter ONE TRIAL contact for ONE eye despite writing a contact prescription that states she needs contacts in BOTH EYES. Not a pair, just one contact for her right eye. The Dr stated he wrote on the prescription she needed contacts for both eyes to bill the insurance for the contacts however she only needed to wear a contact in her right eye. When I asked them if we could have another trial contact since she literally only got 1 trial contact for 1 eye as a just incase if it falls out etc. or if we can try a different brand since this is my daughters first time wearing contacts and we would be waiting for their contacts to be delivered to us via mail- THEY REFUSED. She wasn't given a pair of trial contacts, or any different brands/types to try. Nothing. Just a single contact for one eye. On top of them billing my insurance more than $220+ in benefits, and me paying $115 OUT OF POCKET on top of that for the exams and contacts, they would not give my daughter an extra trial contact.....which they get FOR FREE BY THE WAY TO GIVE TO PATIENTS LIKE MY DAUGHTER who are trying contacts for the first time!! Trial contacts are given to these offices FOR FREE TO GIVE TO PATIENTS! it is not like I was asking for many of them to cheat the system and use them instead of ordering.. We literally ordered 2 boxes of contacts from them. When I cancelled my contact order with this office because of how awful and stingy they were being OVER TRIAL CONTACTS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN TO PATIENTS, thats when they offered to give my daughter an extra *1* trial contact!!!!!!!! But they said they would only give my daughter an extra trial contact if we kept our contact lens order with them and didn't cancel our order...WHAT A JOKE!!!!! Needless to say we told them to cancel the contacts order anyways because that's ridiculous and just WRONG. I'm a nurse and I don't treat patients this way. It's common sense young patients may need a complete pair of contacts.. an extra just incase one falls out cuz they don't know how to use them yet or maybe need to try different contact brands to see what feels comfortable... and allowing a patient to leave with only ONE TRIAL CONTACT and withholding the other unless we kept our contact lens order from them is diabolical. Go somewhere else. Their sales tactics are also shady. They try to give you paperwork with a "price comparison" from 1-800 contacts and 2 other companies to try to show you that they are charging hundreds more and this office costs cheaper so you buy from them... well a simple google search while in their office states this office actually charges more than double of what other companies charge. Do your research and don't fall for it. Their price comparison is off. I ended up buying my daughter 4 boxes of contact lenses for $50 each, when they tried to charge me more than $200 for only 2 boxes. Beware. read more

October 25 I had a couple appointments From the time we walked down to the time we were provided with exceptional customer service. Everyone was kind nice and professional. I love their set up on classes when it comes to selecting different types of sizes. Our appointment went fairly quick. I have VSP vision insurance, and they accept it here. I called to schedule a last-minute appointment for the next day, and they were still able to squeeze me in on Saturday morning. The receptionist was also able to verify that my VSP insurance was covered over the phone. Upon arriving at opening, I was greeted by friendly receptionists. They verified my appointment time and went over what my benefits covered while I waited for my optometrist. They didn't try to upsell me anything and were very straightforward about what my costs would be. I had a $10 copay for the eye exam. There weren't many customers ahead of me, since I was probably the first and only one when the store opened. I opted to include a $20 retina scan of my eye because I think the extra diagnosis would help. (I wouldn't skimp out on health here. Your eyes are important guys!) The doctor, Sinson(?) was friendly, went over everything very thoroughly, and answered all my questions during my exam. The extra $20 retina scan did help confirm things, so I'd highly recommend to do it at least once, so you can get a baseline of your eye health. (The results came out that I am a glaucoma suspect, in case you're curious what results look like.) In the end, I got new lens. My insurance covered the frames for free (under a certain allowance). That being said, there were extra costs for the additional add-ons within the lens, like anti-glare, blue light filter, etc... I ended up paying ~$80 for the frame. So total costs was $80 for lens add-ons, $10 copay, and $20 for retina scan = $110. Health and your eyes are worth it to me, so I'm happy to pay that once a year. Excellent Experience at Visionworks - Cerritos! Anthony and I recently visited Visionworks in Cerritos for our annual eye exams and eyeglass purchases, and we had such a positive experience from beginning to end. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and friendly. We both had our exams with Dr. Sun, who was very personable, thorough, and made us feel completely at ease. Dr. Sun took the time to explain the health of our eyes and offered helpful pointers that showed genuine care and attention--no rushing at all. Ashley in optical helped both Anthony and me, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, patient, and had such a warm, engaging personality. Ashley made the selection process easy and enjoyable with great customer service and friendly conversation throughout. We left feeling well taken care of, happy with our purchases, and pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing.
