I stopped by at the end of the year to purchase some much needed new prescription glasses. So of course it was super busy since people want to use their eye insurance prior to the new year. I forgot Vision Works used to be Eye Masters back in the day. When I walked in I wasn't greeted, and didn't know they had a sign up sheet to be helped. I had started looking at glasses until the person that walked in after me was immediately greeted and they told them to sign in. They have a pretty good selection of frames, with different shapes, sizes, and colors for everyone. I was able to get something I liked. The prices are very reasonable compared to other eyeglasses places. The customer service was okay but given it was the last day of the year I knew it was going to be busy prior to walking in. My honest opinion for the Vision Works location in Cedar Hill is that they have improved their selection, but their staff is lacking knowledge on adjusting glasses. I purchased a nice pair of Lacoste men's frames from the Cedar Hill location in Texas, but when I picked my glasses up, the young lady who sold me the glasses just was not knowledgeable on how to adjust them to fit my face securely. I had to take my brand new glasses to Eye Master's where the manager fixed my frames to fit my face beyond my expectations that I was more than happy with his service and expertise. Despite coming from another competitor the manager from Eye Masters did not charge me and said "I'll see you for your next pair," and he is absolutely correct. Vision Works, nice selection, but you have to train your staff how to finish the buying experience all the way out the door so a family of 6 like mine will return the next year because we know we'll be taken care of from the buying experience all the way to the fitting experience out the door. read more

This place tried to reschedule my appointment by an hour and 30 minutes because I was 5 minutes late although I had been calling them before my appointment to let them know I was unable to locate their establishment. Called twice by the way ... very rude person at the dr office side when I walked in no one said a damn thing ! Received my new glasses. Goes as the fitting etc normally goes. Satisfied with this process. Howeverrrrrrrrr....on the repair on spouses glasses they were horrible! You will be able to sense my disdain and attitude during this visit. How does someone spend a lot of money on glasses only to be told (like today) that they can't repair the glasses as they don't have screws that small! Whyyy don't they have what they need to repair glasses! A simple "small" screw. So they have to "make" one fit somehow. Hopefully they don't strip the area! This is the 2nd time we have brought these in for the same repair. Hopefully it won't be the second crappy repair done by the staff. She had told us they can't fix it due to not having small screws and they will have to make a screw fit somehow. Then asks what do we want her to do! Well damn it, repair the glasses duh! Yes I am very frustrated with their non-chalant attitude regarding the repair. She says that we can get another frame. I ask will it be free as these frames aren't cheap. Of course the answer is no. So what the heck they are making money on this option and we are losing money if we accept this option. Has anyone else had this experience???? So the final concensus is they can't repair so they are going to order a same frame and either switch out the screw or we could purchase the new frame at 25% off cost. I am mortified on how I have been treated at this location. I go to pick up my glasses, 1 pair out of 2 I try them on and cannot see nothing! ( btw I've been wearing glasses since I was 7, so I understand the adjustment period) The associate goes to "CHECK" my RX , 20-30 minutes pass I was told it was my doctors error , for me to go get my eyes rechecked. So of course I go back to my Dr and she runs it thru the Lensometer and shows its wrong. Then of course I go back to this location and ask them to recheck ( after I was waiting the 1st time for over 30min) and was shunned by the manager. I ask her if she even looked at my RX or does she have a copy? She says" no they don't keep those" . So after she insists that it was a doctor error again. I ask" have you looked at my RX?"" Do you have a copy"? , she responds with" we don't keep those" So "I say well I have a copy here" she still does not bother to look until I ask repeatedly. Then After I insist she finally looks and see there is an error on the entry of my RX. No apology no nothing. Sends me on my way and says it will be another 10 business days 3 weeks later I pick up my glasses , only 1 pair was ready and did not care for the frame after all , it was to heavy due to my high RX. I ask can I change to another frame to one of the associates she said no because I am almost at my return/exchange time limit. I go to explain wait this (3 week 3 addnl 3 week because my rx was entered incorrectly waiting period isn't my fault) Long story short I ask for DM's name ? They responded with they can only give me his first name which is Mark . I ask for his phone #, they are not allowed to provide . They finally agree to switch out my frames and remake them so I go back 3 weeks later . Let me tell you I felt like I was back in High School. I have a few more times after and the experience was very uncomfortable. Until finally I spoke up and said apologized to the associate to whatever I have done to offend them and she listened. Her name is Neste, I believe, she was great! She has been the only one that has listened and provided me superb customer service. I have been purchasing from that location for over 8 years for my and my family., Thru this purchase I have to visit over 4 times., Cut to today , my second pair of glasses are ready and my daughter goes to pick them for me and the manager cuts my daughters off and dismisses her. Asks her a questions , she replies but then rolls her eyes and asks the associate. This is now bullying !! I have been in customer service for over 20 years , have myself managed optical locations and have never seen this disgusting behavior. My 8 year old just acquired her first pair of glasses and the experience was enjoyable for the entire family. My husband and 14 year old daughter have worn glasses for many years and they enjoyed their experience picking out new frames as well. The staff is very knowledgeable and readily offers courteous assistance. The prices are reasonable and the selection is stylish and plentiful. We used insurance for my 14 y/o and my husband, but the 8 year old isn't on our vision plan because she'd never needed glasses before. The BOGO/discount special that was offered allowed us to get a back up pair of glasses for her and she was very excited about that. They have served my entire family well and we will definitely be back for our future optical needs! Adding to their cool points: my 14 year old wanted a "special/brand specific case" for her glasses, rather than the generic one that originally came with them.
