I'm not sure why I chose to take my prescription and get glasses elsewhere because I missed out on some major benefits. When I got them they were dirty. The front desk lady was upset because I asked her to clean them. I'm sorry--but who wants to pick up dirty glasses? A few days later the glasses were horrible! They hurt my eyes and gave me a headache. I had to resort to my old pair. I called to tell the doctor about my issue. I went back in for him to "correct" the prescription. In the office, everything seems fine. I'm guessing because I only had them on less than 2 mins. So that didn't give my eyes time to adjust! Two days later these lenses are giving me the same problem. The prescription is just too strong. At this point, I'm over it. I couldn't just drop what I was doing for the doctor to "correct" my prescription again. So I finally had time and he told me it's been too long and I have to pay for this visit-- because my eyes changed within 2-3 months. Seriously!!! You want me to pay YOU to correct YOUR mistake. It just didn't make sense. I'll just count this as a loss and move on. I will take the rest of my money elsewhere. This isn't my 3rd pair of glasses so I KNOW what I'm talking about when it comes to my lenses and eyes. Buyer beware!

I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

I became sensitive to light causing me to wear my sunglasses even inside a building. I started searching for an emergency eye clinic around 9 pm and after leaving several messages at other providers, I lucked up and found Dr. Shunck. He actually answered my call and was very understanding of my situation and concerned for my eye sight. He gave me recommendations for the night and agreed to meet me at his clinic the next morning, a Sunday Morning. The next morning, my pain, blurry vision and watering were 90% better. I started to call and cancel but knew we still had more places to play and a 4 hour drive home. So I met Dr. Schunk at his office at 8 am on a Sunday morning. He was just as attentive in person as he was on the phone. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the exam. He kept acknowledging that I was on vacation and wanted me to be able to have a good time without any eye problems. He gave me samples of eye drops to use and filed my insurance for the visit. I was prepared to have to pay cash with an up charge for the emergency weekend visit. If I lived in this area, I would definitely make Dr. Schunk my regular Optometrist but since I don't, I will definitely recommend him to my family that lives in Arlington and anyone else reading this review. It's difficult to find care givers that really care. Insurance rules have turned what used to be a "calling" into a business, but Dr. Schunk has remained true to his Oath.
