Dealing with this place has been the worst experience ever. It literally turned into a two appointment ordeal with the second appointment being hours long. The Dr didn't speak, smile or anything. Out in the lobby to pay we were moved from desk to desk. It ended up expensive even with insurance because they push products. Now it's been weeks since paying and we've heard nothing. Once I get what I paid for I will definitely not be a return customer. read more

Adding in an updated post - got my glasses back and I was really pleased with my frames and lenses. They were in perfect condition and I've had them for about two weeks now. I can finally see after 6 years of not having an updated prescription. So happy with my new glasses :) read more

This place is absolutely horrible. DONT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Ordered glasses and contacts on Jan 6 and told one week. Less than 12 hours later I changed my mind and only wanted lenses for existing glasses and told no problem. Every week for three weeks thereafter was told there was a delay with the lenses and contacts. Finally at week 6 called and told lenses were in when in fact it was the frames I had canceled. They offered to give me the new frames with a $150 refund. The frames don't fit! Called the insurance and customer service. Told contact lenses would be overnighted within three days to my home. I called in week 7 about the replacement lenses for my existing frames and was told they were in. No one called me! Brought in my existing frames to insert lenses and told there was a seal missing from my existing frames and I needed to get new frames. Took existing frames to three other independent locations and all three said there was nothing wrong with my existing frames and there would be no problem changing out lenses. Wanted full refund from Visionworks but told only general manager could make refund. Her schedule is completely opposite of mine. Customer service arranged for a date/time. 10 weeks later I get a call from the general manager saying I was supposed to come in to process the refund on two different days that were no where need the date arranged by customer service and then threatened they could no longer do the refund because of the amount of time that had passed. If they had provided the services paid for the refund wouldn't be necessary. read more

I would not recommend this specific location (store #527). The eye exam room I went in (the first room to the right) had dirty equipment. There was make up left from previous exams. The optometrist was visibly sick (possibly severe allergies) and had used tissues on the counter and floor next to her. The sales rep (Shamara) mis-stated my ready date as the 17th with a possibility of them being ready sooner. I called Thursday the 15th to check on the status and they politely informed me they weren't ready but should be in a couple of days. Today (the 19th) I called the store to check the status. The employee that answered checked under the wrong name, (she placed the phone on the counter and I could hear her stating the wrong name). She came on and told me that the glasses weren't ready yet but once the lens cutter comes in at 11 they will check on the status. I verified the start time of 11 with the employee and she said yes I asked what time I could call back to get an idea of when the glasses would be ready, she hung up on me. I called the corporate service number she gave me the standard response without looking in the system (glasses take 10 days) first I heard this. I asked to speak with a manager over the store or the regional manager, she connected me to the store manager who then told me the glasses were shipped to the store and he would have the cutter work on them and call me when they are ready. He stated the cutter worked 12-8pm (another mis-stated fact from the staff). I verified what he stated to me and he then clarified that shipped to the store (by UPS) did not mean the store had them yet and he could not guarantee that they would be on today's UPS drop nor could he tell me what time UPS normally comes to his store. It has been and still is my experience that this location does not treat customers with professionalism or integrity. The employees are either poorly trained or misleading by design. read more

Arlene is the saving grace of this place. She is the reason that this review gets one star. I have never been notified when our glasses have been available. I always find out by calling the store. I don't understand. Glasses arrive and they just sit without customer notification. Everytime we come to this location, the manager or assistant manager (not sure) is openly discussing other customers. She is always complaining about people. It makes a customer feel very uncomfortable to hear someone speaking of others so negatively. She is not quiet about it either. The whole store can hear. Very unprofessional. I can no longer give this company my business. read more

This is the Most ghetto ass place I've been to in years. To begin vision works stole a reimbursement payment from my insurance company by processing a claim for services never rendered for my child...2nd thing I reluctantly ordered glasses from them on one occasion, they are overpriced and not of good quality. you'll be better off ordering a pair of glasses online then taking them to your optometrist of choice to have your Rx put in them. Everyone there needs to be retrained for customers service they suck ass as a unit !The manager himself is a liar..after waiting almost a month for a trail pair of contacts I finally called to ask what the hold up was .. they tell me the order was supposed to take 3-5 days .. but it was a month later still no contacts .. the manger told me he was going to call the distribution center to obtain a delivery date and found that the contacts were on back order .. but no one called me to inform me of this as we were already in the the 30th day !.. I am so over vision works and will most likely NOT return .. Soooo do your self a favor a STAY AWAY ! read more

I had my eyes checked today by Dr. Lennet Hill. I found the examination thorough and informative. Many options were discussed to make sure I received new glasses that are specific to my needs and wants. This is my second time with this company. I did not have the same experience with the staff. All I can say is Ghetto Fabulous. I like supporting my African American Business's, but to try to get every nickle from my insurance is crazy. Just because you think I have money doesn't necessarily mean I do because of my job title.Add all these extra things to my bill and I'm trying to figure out why the bill is so high for a 67.00 pair of glass came out to almost 400 dollars, but 88 after the fact with insurance. Seriously.Please explain to me the extra cost, then let me decide if I want those things.I left there feeling like I had been taken advantage of. Not cool. I ask you about a contact lens RX and you get smart with me because I ask. Is o.k if you can't do it, but why get the aurthorization for both if you are not going to mention it.The lady MD needs more training.I couldn't tell the difference int he rx when I got it. Thats o.k. lesson learned.I definitely will not be going back there. Loud Tech Kim, needs to know about customer service and confidentiality. Thinking that cute being loud.
