Not in network with my health insurance (STILL! Fkn Medicaid) My eyeglasses lost a hinge screw, I tried the hardware store and then decided to stop in at an optical shop. Despite not having made any purchases the Visionworks associate quickly gave me a new screw, installed and cleaned my lenses professionally FOR FREE. I will definitely come back for the occasional fixer upper or tuneup on my glasses frames. Hope they get in network for frames and lenses vending because my closest vendor right now is an hour each way driving. I'll definitely be back for lens and optic shop needs. read more

I went to Visionworks with my husband when he needed me eyeglasses. When he first entered he saw the clerk who gave him his insurance information and what he was entitled to. I then helped my husband pick out some new glasses. When we saw the next clerk to check out, we learned that he had different and better benefits than what he was given before. He was happy with his new glasses. Jasmine was very helpful. The only complaint that I have is that this took much longer than it should have. We ended up being late to our next engagement because of this. I recommend Visionworks. Just be prepared to be there a while. Also, make sure that you get your benefits properly explained to you so that you get what you are entitled to for the correct price. read more

Switched to Visionworks because the cost of exam and contacts on VSP Network insurance is less than half the price of going to an out-of-network provider. My experience was surprisingly similar to going to a more pricey option. As I did my exam only a few weeks ago, there were many precautions taken such as temperature check, well-sanitized equipment, use of hand sanitizer, masks worn, scheduled appointments, questionnaires, and a good distance between myself and others. I appreciated all of these actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The pre-screening and exam process was very similar to others that I've had with what appeared to be the same quality of equipment as well. Dr. Bunchuk was quick and thorough in his exam and I felt that I had a good understanding of my eye health from this visit. He gave a good explanation of options for both contacts and glasses and made sure I was knowledgeable about my options. The checkout process was quick and easy where my order was quickly entered into the system and they took care of processing all my insurance paperwork and discounts for me. My order quickly arrived at the store in only 6 days where it was packaged and labeled neatly in a bag for pickup. Had an appt and get there they say dr is running late do you wanna go do something then come back? No sorry nothing. I ask how long and she says 45 mins. I am in customer service and the correct way to handle this was to call and let the people know you're running late so maybe they could of stayed at work later instead of having to take off early to make it to appointment. My appointment was 11:30 and in the moment I walk receptionist told me same thank like last time "The doctor is running late can you wait for 30 to 45 minutes. I came in twice, and both times he was very patient as I tried on many frames and decided which to buy. Ordering the glasses with Michael was easy, and they were ready in a week for pickup. VERY disappointed and frustrated. Couldn't find the location- as even gps doesn't recognize it.... So, I called the only phone number to be stuck on a voice command prerecorded message with no hope of getting in contact with an actual person. As a result, was twenty minutes late to my appointment. Unapologetic and without any care, they quickly confirmed that I would have to reschedule the first of my two appointments, without exception and with no attempt to accommodate given the circumstances. They led my five year old into the back and stared at her, telling her to put her chin on the machine with no explanation of what they were doing, what they were testing or what they wanted her to do. When she wouldn't cooperate, they stared at her blankly for ten minutes- not moving and with no expression. No attempt to help ease the situation or get her to cooperate. The absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered in any profession. When I asked the manager to help, she said that the explanation and the coaxing comes from the parents not them. When I asked why the employee was ignoring my request she claimed she was hard of hearing- despite responding to everything else I had asked her. We ended up leaving. I will not return and I will file a complaint with my insurance provider to ensure that they are aware of the horrific customer service. I strongly recommend you try anywhere else! read more

I think every Vision Works sucks. But this one lost my glasses and lenses. It's a month later and they're still looking for it all. Not only that, the people there act as if I'm the moron, when they lost the glasses. If I could give no star, I would. I only come here because my insurance allows only this place, next time, I'm going to pay for my stuff somewhere else. I've went to other Visionworks and the Bloomingdale location never ordered my contacts, EVER. For 6 months, they kept giving me trial contacts and kept saying my contacts were "lost" for 6 months! Schaumburg, I had a problem with my glasses (they weren't clear) and they were going to charge me to get new ones when they screwed up. Here I finally get new ones in Arlington Heights, they make me buy new frames because someone couldn't fix my glasses (tightening them) so they cracked the plastis. This is after I told the person at AH that they should be tightened with a screw and they argued with me on that note, causing the crack and making me buy a new pair. Now AH lost my new and old pair of glasses. I purchased them in Mid January and now it's Mid February and I'm still waiting on them. Visionworks) is garbage. Never had any good experience with any Visionworks. Let me reiterate, they are GARBAGE! Do not go here, even if you have insurance. Seriously, they suck. read more

Staff in this Arlington Heights IL location all seem like they are still in training. They struggle with basic tasks like finding patients in their system, scheduling appointments, performing "pre-test" activities. They exude inefficiency and lack of competence. The Optometrist name in the door (who we had confidence in) does not appear to be the optometrist currently in practice there. read more

I cannot say enough good about this location. Manager Katy was absolutely phenomenal and didn't hesitate to help us when the Schaumburg location we already went to didn't give a crap. This location went above and beyond what they needed to for my young son and fixed a major problem that should've never happened in the first place four times. My family and I will only got to this location from now on. If you want a great experience and wonderful staff this location is it! They put customers first and that's a plus for me. I highly recommend this location. They stand by customers come first and have management that know what it means to work in customer service. Arlington Heights location you gals ROCK!!! I went in for a 2nd time because a screw had come out causing my lense to fall out. Was thinking that it was going to be a real hassle but it was the complete opposite. Chris C did a great job of servicing me. She noticed that the old frames would not going to work because the screw hole had been striped and she got me a new set of Frames & also helped to refit the glasses so that they would sit a little higher on my face. As for the glasses themselves, I did go with no chip lenses because of a past experience which I am sure helped when the one popped out for the 1st time. Overall, I thought our exams were good, the prices were reasonable and I was very pleased with the Customer Service I received on my 2nd visit. As the previous folks mentioned, I should have read the reviews before even attempting to call these wanna be healthcare professionals. I made an appointment for mid afternoon, after leaving my office early, picking up my kids from daycare, I was running 5 minutes behind. The receptionist called and said I had missed my appointment. I said no I didn't, I was literally outside parking my car. She said don't bother, the doctor said we have to cancel your appointment. Really? This is how you make a first impression on a new patient? You have got to be kidding me! She said let's reschedule you, I said no thanks, just take my name out of your system please, I am taking my business elsewhere. So for the last 15 years I have been managing 20 medical care facilities for specialized women services , and if we treated our patients the way these guys do we would be out of business and on the street. Moral of the story? Find someone who cares about your treatment and doesn't try to pack patients in like sardines. Visionworks corporate should pull the franchise license from these folks, as they are making the entire brand a laughing joke. Not to mention there are 3 major competitors at each corner of the major intersection Rand and Palatine Rd. Step up your game people! read more

Pick your situation, and follow advice: 1. If you have insurance: Go anywhere else. If for some reason, you cannot go anywhere else, just tell them you don't have insurance. Your exam will be roughly the same price as your copay. Get your prescription and go somewhere else to make your purchase with your insurance. 2. If you don't have insurance, go across the street to America's Best. Although they are not the best, they are by far much better than Visionjerks and have better deals. Don't spend $200+ on crappy glasses, you can get the same thing online for 5 to 10 dollars, or 30 dollars at any Walmart, Sam's Club, or other discount store that offers a vision center. Visionjerks will tell you lies, claim that your insurance doesn't cover certain features (such as lenses for glasses), and change the price on you depending on if you order contact lenses or not. They will push you into spending your insurance allowance on contacts and paying $400 on glasses out of pocket. Just walk away like I did I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. read more

The staff over there are very friendly and honest. The lady assisted me with my insurance and selecting the right lenses for me, i think her name is Hailey, and the guy was very friendly the second i stepped in the shop. Last summer, went to this location for eye exam and a look at eyeglass frames. The customer service reps were highly motivated people who really hustled me into buying a frame. Too many reps there with nothing to do, and I prefer to be left alone to peruse the frame styles, and take time to choose the one that I can live with. The eye exam was done too quickly compared to other exams I've had. The doctor couldn't have much experience, she was so young. Sure enough, the second pair that they made had a prescription that was too strong for distance. Went to another location, and they gave me free re-examination, and this time by a more experienced optician. She changed the prescription, closer to my previous pair of glasses, and they remade the lenses abt 2 times for me til they worked for me. Got a great senior discount, I must say. They offer great deals, but I had the sense that the frames are knock-off styles and always too small for my face. Next time, go to Pearle or more established business name. read more

Tried to get registered in person with insurance to save time for the appointment when I came back, was eventually told had to do it same day. Cancelled and never going back. My visit today was horrible. First of all, I scheduled an appointment for noon and wasnt in the system. I was taken in as a walkin and luckily, the person for the noon appointment didnt show up. I was taken in the doctors office, and was told my prescription was still valid for another 3 months. They could have told me this over the phone and I would have saved myself the gas and time. Then, I was going to puchase contacts for the next 3 months because I ran out, they grabbed the wrong box of contacts and were going to charge me double. I told them I had paid around 30 bucks before and Quiana, the general manager said she had never known about 30 dollar contacts. She went back to check and someone gave her the wrong ones to check out. This place is a disaster, try the Lake Zurich location instead, thats what Im going to to do read more

I would give 0 stars, but that isn't an option. After shopping at several other places, we landed at Visionworks. Bana and Kimi, 2 of the sales associates were incompetent and provided incorrect information. Bana measured for my progressive lenses incorrectly and argued with me when I told her that the measurements were not correct. After 5 pairs of progressives, I know the routine! When I went to pick up my glasses, the frames were damaged, and I was told to come back the next day for my glasses. Of course, Bana did not pass on the information, and when I went to pick up my glasses, new frames were not available, and Kimi tried to give me the same frames in a different color. Ummm.... No.Thank.You. I also asked them to order new lenses for my sunglasses, and told Bana that they needed to be special ordered from the manufacturer. This was also a big production, she refused to order them the way I requested, and in the end they could not replace the lenses. No kidding! Listen to your customers!!! I ended up calling the Regional Manager (after 10 minutes of requesting his name and phone number---which Bana would not readily provide) and told him to forget the sale and call my insurance company to have my benefits reinstated---as Bana and Kimi told me that only the store manager could do that, and he wasn't at the store. The Regional Manager was helpful, but I wouldn't go back to this store and would never recommend it. I went across the street to LensCrafters after picking up my sunglasses (with the old prescription) this evening. In an hour, I had selected glasses, sunglasses and was very happy with the service. I don't want to leave a star but...no choice. I went to get an eye exam at 5:30. The eye doctor seemed like she was in a hurry and impatient. She examined my eye really fast and told me to go to the front for trial contact lens and choose a frame and told me to schedule for the next appointment for contact lens and glasses pickup. As I walked toward the front counter, the doctor zoomed out the door to her car. I chose my frame, paid and scheduled for my next appointment. I tried my best to wear my trial contacts but it didn't fit right and my eyes were teary non stop. When I went to pick up my glasses, the same doctor was there and asked me why I wasn't wearing my contact lenses. I told her that it was not fitting right and it was too dangerous for me to drive with it since tears came out non stop. She gave a big sigh and told me that I was supposed to wear it and get my eyes examined today. I told her that no one told me that I need to have my contact lenses for the next exam and my eyes were obviously too irritated to keep it in. She told me reschedule an appointment again with the same contacts and this time to leave it in for 2-3 hours. I didn't want to deal with her anymore so I left without making appointment that day.
