I stopped by Visions Salon in Pacifica today hoping to purchase a $100 gift certificate. A woman came out and asked what I was there for, and I explained I wanted a gift certificate--most likely for a pedicure, but possibly a massage, depending on what the recipient wanted. Since Visions advertises a range of services, I assumed this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, I was told that because there was no manager on site and the person who does pedicures wasn't there, she couldn't sell me a gift certificate. She was polite and apologized, but that was it--no gift certificate, no card, no menu, no information on who to contact or how to follow up. I simply walked out empty-handed. Totally turned away. Looking back, I should have known better. Last year, I received a Visions gift certificate. When I tried to make an appointment (I live nearby), I was told they couldn't schedule me and that I needed to call the number on the card. I called twice and left my number both times--no one ever called me back. That was enough for me. My mom had a similar experience. She booked a massage, showed up, and the masseuse was a no-show. She rescheduled, only for the masseuse to reschedule on her--twice. Eventually, the times offered no longer worked, and she gave up and never went back. Overall, this place is just a hassle--from purchasing gift certificates to booking and keeping appointments. There's a clear lack of organization and follow-through. Save yourself the frustration and don't bother. read more

Verne Deason does Body Conscious Massage at the Vision Seaside Spa in Pacifica, California. After struggling with sciatica pain for six weeks and having physical therapy for a month, I was unable to walk over a mile without pain. I was going on a two week walking vacation and I was about to cancel. A friend recommended Verne and I had an appointment the day before I left. He listened to my issues and did various procedures to try and target the pain. The results were amazing. I was able to walk 4 -5 miles a day including on hills will little or no pain. It wasn't completely gone...I took Advil at night but it was 1000% better. I had another massage after I came back and the results have lasted. I highly recommend Verne. Unfortunately I do not live in California so I won't be able to use him as much as I would like. But every visit will now include a massage in Pacifica! read more

I've lived in Pacifica for five years and only last week I had skincare at Visions Seaside spa. The first good thing is available parking. Second thing is I was greeted at the front desk, so things got going right on appointment. The premises were pleasing, as I looked right and left on different professionals who have setup for skincare and hair services at this location. This review is for Tori O! I found Tori on Yelp on accident actually, but a good accident it was. I originally scheduled an appointment with Regis and found her number in the comments but she was booked already when I contacted her. Luckily she accommodated me and I then begun my two session blonde ombré that I am seriously in love with. I've received so many compliments it's awesome. She is so patient and explains every step of the process and she has really decent pricing for the amount of work that my hair involved. She's a real outgoing person and is very easy to talk to. This place is a secret gem. The front desk service is attentive and unobtrusive. The atmosphere is calm and the building is very clean. The real star, however, is Jared, the massage therapist. I have been seeing Jared for more than three years and am so happy he found this place to center his practice. And what a practice it is. I have tried many massages in the past and they have been comfortable and relaxing but Jared cured my chronic plantar fasciitis. His ability to tailor the massage to the level of the recipient is unparalleled. He is responsive to feedback and remembers from appointment to appointment what you need and your preferences. Wow- what a beautiful place this is! Very calm, relaxing environment. Had my make-up done by Kimberly Breeze for a wedding I was in, and she did a fantastic job! I've been seeing Jared White for years. In fact, I won't go to any other massage therapist. He has been amazing, helping me with neck, shoulder and upper back pain before my breast reduction and then helping loosen and letting me regain mobility post surgery. He has also cured plantar fasciitis in my driving foot. I didn't understand before working with Jared how massage compliments and even exceeds physical therapy. Having been to several massage therapists who were just giving me a rub down, which was nice, but not actually improving my quality of life, I was sceptical. Tucked away in the back of Pacifica it is not as well known as some of the other spas on the Peninsula, and perhaps that's a good thing, because it is always easy to get an appointment there. Sue Vellone is a master of her trade and great with hair extensions. Her wealth of experience makes her a great consultant (when you're not sure what to do with your hair) and her feedback is honest and mostly right on. I went to visions for the first time recently and had my hair done by Tori, and you can be sure I'll be back! She is really an expert, and helped me pick the perfect color for my hair. She is professional, but makes you feel super comfortable at the same time. I am so happy with how my hair turned out. Extra plus is she uses color that is not damaging, but left my hair feeling soft and looking glossy which has lasted weeks after we dyed it. I personally did not get my hair done there but my daughter did. She saw Tori a couple days ago. She went in with blue hair and had gone many places to try to get it out. We even went to Scottsdale to a well known salon and they couldn't fix it. Blue is a really hard color apparently to get rid of. Well my daughter walked in the room and my jaw dropped. Her hair looked beautiful in a silver blonde shade. I felt so happy for her and need to call and make my appointment soon.
