My experience with Karina was very good. I was able to schedule my appointment within a reasonable time frame and she asked to see pictures of my hair so she would have an idea of what I needed. Once at the salon, we talked through what I was looking for in my cut and she asked questions to make sure she understood. And super important, she double checked with me on the length of the cut right before the first snip. She was super efficient and I was so happy with the end results; it was exactly what I wanted. Karina has been my hairstylist for the past 15 years. I will note that I have thick hair and before Karina, plenty of hairstylists would get lost cutting my hair because of how thick it was. Karina was the first hairstylist who could actually style my hair, make me feel stylish and proud walking out of the shop. When I first started going to Karina, I only visited her twice a year as I had long black hair that didn't need too much upkeep. But for the last several years, I have been sporting a shorter blonde hairstyle. Karina helped me through the transition from having natural black hair to blonde hair. I LOVE my blonde look now and much of it is thanks to Karina! She has guided me by helping to provide the right hair color and hair cut for my round face. (My Yelp profile picture is a product of Karina's work. It's a selfie I took of myself after visiting her.) I appreciate Karina's care towards my hair and our relationship. I've lived in Pacifica for 8 years and this was the best haircut I have received. I asked Karina to cut my hair like Chris Evans' from Captain America Winter Soldier (See Photo below) [My hair isn't as thick as his :( ] and she did a great job after only reviewing the photos I showed her for about a minute. Karina is very personable and could sense that I wanted to chat. She kept up a good conversation while cutting and styling my hair wonderfully. The music and lighting provide a refreshing atmosphere that I really enjoyed. The haircut cost me $40 plus tip and it was definitely worth it. I was looking to find a new stylist locally since I have two small children and was having a hard time fitting in a cut/color with my stylist in the South Bay. I decided to try Karina since she had good reviews, was the owner of the salon, and was recommended by locals. Unfortunately, my worst fear of paying a lot of money to have someone wreck my hair came true. The highlight job that she did was done poorly and she charged $185 for the partial highlight service. My husband, who is not someone that notices hair, pointed out the line in the back of my head, which I could not see. I added one star to the review because Karina did fix the mistakes that I had to point out. Her fix made my hair tolerable, but I still find issues and think that the color job isn't great. Prior to coming in for her to fix her mistakes she told me that she does not do refunds. Karina did take responsibility for it being an "amateur, cosmetology school job". Not sure how she rationalizes charging what she does for the quality of her work. She also double books clients, so she was cutting another woman's hair while my color was setting which could be the reason for her mistakes since she wasn't paying full attention due to the multitasking. read more

Karina has been styling my hair for years and she's the only person I will ever trust it. She's spent years in this profession as shown by her knowledge on cutting, coloring and styling.
