Isha did balayage on my already permanently-dyed hair, and it came out so pretty! For context, my hair is fine and naturally dark brown, scattered with white hairs. But I've bleached it, toned it, then dyed it back to dark brown with permanent dye in the past 3 years, with regular root touchups. My first stylist who dyed my hair brown asked, "Are you sure? I'm double checking again because you can't go back to blonde after this." I got tired of my brown hair, so I spoke with another stylist, then Isha, about whether blonde again was possible. They both confirmed yes, maybe not as blonde as before during the first session, but bleach was OK. We did a test strand to confirm and I was lucky that my hair still seemed healthy after bleach. It lifted well and didn't break. My results today are darker blonde highlights. I love the color and texture Isha created. It doesn't look chunky anywhere. My hair looks so lovely the way she curled it with a flat iron, giving it the volume it so desperately needs. Salon is clean, and they have a microwave for reheating your lunch if your appointment takes several hours. Tip: Pay attention to the street parking restrictions. Freshly obsessed with Dana ~ after getting my haircut a year ago, I was desperately looking on Instagram for someone I feel like I could trust and someone who'd listen to my wants and nurture my anxiety. I asked for a Face frame and straight cut, it also came with the best shampoo, conditioner, and head massage! I had the pleasure of meeting Karen through one of my hobbies. When I found out she had a hair salon I immediately started looking through all her pictures of past clients. The bug hit me that I really wanted to get a balayage. I pondered for a couple months and finally got the courage to ask Karen about it and if she thought she could do a balayage in the color I wanted. My hair isn't in the best condition and I was really worried that my hair wouldn't be able to take or hold the color. I also have dark hair and going light can take some work. She patiently explained everything to me and even helped me in suggesting which color would best to hide some pesky grays that happen as one gets older. I took everything into consideration and finally bit the bullet and booked an appointment with her. I was there bright and early with only half a cup of coffee in me and I looked like the walking dead. Karen, on the other hand, was bright and perky and immediately got set to work. She went over everything with me again just to make sure that was what I wanted. She asked questions about my previous hair dye jobs and explained why she was asking. She explained what she was doing at each step through the process. Everything was done meticulously and gently. As we share a main hobby conversation was easy. I don't think I've talked to anyone for so long at one time in quite a long time. She's easy to talk to and that makes the appointment go so much faster. As for my hair, let me just say that I may have walked in looking horrible but I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I cannot explain the amount of joy that I felt when she finished and told me to look in the mirror. If it weren't for covid times I would of hugged her! (And yes this business follows all of the protocols for covid). I've always wanted to have my hair done to a blonde by a professional and I am SO glad that I went with Karen for it to be done.
