My daughter and I have been going to vision source for years. Doctor is nice. The staff however is not always the friendliest. We have always noticed this but it wasn't that extreme so we persevered. Recently I had allergic reaction to the trial contacts they gave me. I called to have them switch the brand. She gave me the impression she doubted me because my trial contacts were from months ago. As I was explaining to her that the first time I tried them I didn't realize I was allergic. (I thought I caught pink eye) she interrupted me. And then she started insisting I come in for another exam. I told them I don't have time for that just need a different brand. But they persisted in needing me to do another exam even though my prescription is still valid. I asked to speak to someone else or even the Dr herself. But the same woman persisted on the call. And she interrupted me again. Having no flexibility and being rudely interrupted by whoever answered that phone just made them lose 2 clients. Plus my husband was about to start going there too. My whole family sees Dr. Nguyen and she takes great care of all of us! Today I took my son in for his annual and as always we were checked in promptly and seen on time. Dr. Nguyen takes her time with each patient and does a comprehensive exam and educates you about all aspects of it. She is very receptive to your questions and is very competent and not only that but very nice! We are fortunate to have her as our family optometrist and she has a lovely office located right off the grand parkway with plenty of parking! If you live in Greatwood or New Territory you're only a hop, skip and a jump away! The staff at Vision Source is very nice as well and they have a comprehensive selection of eyewear for all your needs! The Vision Source on Grand Pkwy near 59 has been our go to optometry place for the past decade! Dr Pham and her staff are so wonderfully nice, accommodating, and spot on in their assessment of me and my family's eye conditions. Dr Pham has helped identify serious eye conditions early on and referred us to a specialist to repair. I can't recommend them enough! They are worth seeing for your eye exams and eyeglass frames and contacts needs. read more

This was my first visit to this Optometrist. The facility is very modern. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was seen immediately upon arrival and the facility has all the latest technology. What I enjoyed most is that the doctor did not try to push all these unnecessary services on you. She provided a thorough exam and we communicated about the future of my vision. Additionally, my glasses arrived in one day. I am very concerned with this practice and their lack of concern for employee and patient safety during this COVID quarantine time. I was shocked to discover that the employees are not required to wear a mask at all when providing direct patient care. With as close that they need to get to me during eye testing I would imagine that this would be common sense mandatory. When I asked a staff member about this the response they gave me is that if I am not comfortable then I can leave and go to a different place. TRUST ME I will be looking for another optometrist that cares about my health and protects me from potential illness. read more

I chose this location because they were on the list of providers under my insurance and they were close to where I live and I could get in pretty much any time I wanted. I came to my appointment and everyone was friendly. I had to wait almost 30 minutes over my appointment time. The optometrist was was very nice and friendly, and the appointment was VERY fast. They gave me a trial pair of contacts and I was on my way. I noticed that the contacts were not the correct prescription and did not correct my astigmatism. I went back (got an appointment the same time I called--they are never busy) and let them know and their attitude was completely different. The lady (older) that was at the front desk this time wasn't the previous time and she was rude. I felt like I wasn't welcome because I simply stated that my prescription was not correct. I wasn't rude or upset. I just wanted to corrected so I ordered the right contacts for me. Why would I want to pay if I cannot see?? I went back with the doctor and she just typed a few things in the computer and said they didn't have both contacts in stock and sent me out the door with ONE contact. I was in and out of there in about 8 minutes (from the time I entered the door) Shortly after this I moved out of state and was dependent on them to receive my contacts. I was very nervous to get my new trail pair because I couldn't see out of my previous pair. It took them almost SIX weeks to send me the TRIAL pair. I called numerous times asking about them and I got a different story almost every time I called. I did not appreciate being lied to. Either they are very unorganized or lazy because it shouldn't have taken that long to receive them. After nearly 6 weeks I told them to just keep the regular contacts and I will have a friend pick them up and ship them to me because I knew that would be faster. When I received the trail contacts the envelop was in HORRIBLE shape and the post office put a sticker on it that said "received in bad condition from 77469" I would never go to this location again and would not recommend them to anyone. I ordered the minimum amount of boxes of contacts because I was nervous the prescription wouldn't even be correct. This is not the way I want to feel when choosing someone to care for my eyes. read more

I have been going here since I was 17 years old. 10 years later and I still come back, I love going to Dr. Kay N. The front desk has always been pleasant and go the extra mile when it comes time to helping me choose new frames that go with my face shape. I have had only one incident where they forgot to submit the order for my contacts, but when I called 2 weeks later after not hearing from them, (which is unusual because I typically hear from them within a week) they apologized and submitted my order and ordered an extra pair of contacts for the inconvenience. I have really bad astigmatism and they usually quote 2 weeks for my special order contacts but they almost always come in less than a week. I have broken 2 pairs of glasses, thankfully they had a one year warranty and I had them both replaced, no questions asked. Overall I think the ladies in the front do the best that they can to give you the absolute best service that they can give. I have even referred friends here because I just love coming here. My favorite therapeutic optometrist is Dr Kay. My entire family goes to her for glasses and contacts. She's very genuine and is very thorough. I always have trouble finding the right frames but they offer a wide selection. Dr Kay's staff are helpful with helping us find the right frames. Avoid at all costs. Went here for years for prescriptions and would get glasses elsewhere. Made the mistake of ordering glasses from them here recently - big mistake. Lenses were ordered improperly (no transitions which I paid for), and the lenses were defective (distortion in lenses causing smudged appearance, confirmed by the staff to be defective), and they fit poorly & had to be adjusted twice in the first week. Office manager could have cared less about any of this; I wanted my money back so I could go somewhere else where I felt I'd get a better quality product, but they refused a refund and felt that offering me yet another pair of lenses and new frames should be enough. Couldn't get it through to them that I wasn't pleased at all with their service and the total lack of quality control (it only would have taken a second for someone to check the lenses to see that they were defective but no one bothered) and therefore wanted to take my business elsewhere. Total bill was $700 and while I was waiting for them to finally get me a pair of glasses in that weren't defective in some way, I found a much better pair of online which cost a grand total of $105! The worst part was their attitude, they didn't care at all about the mistakes they made and even told me it was not their fault, it was the lab's fault that the lenses were defective, as if that would make a difference to me. Terrible customer service; go up the road to Lenscrafters where at least they will give you your money back if you don't like the glasses you order, or better yet go online with your prescription and save hundreds of dollars for glasses that are just as good if not better. Edited to add: I see the optometrist responded to this review and once again did not apologize for any of their mistakes. I would suggest to Vision Source that they post their no-refunds policy somewhere or better yet, put it on the receipt so people know before they cough up a lot of cash. read more

I have been a client of this particular vision source for 10+ years. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. I recently had a severe eye problem, I could barley see. Dr. Nguyen took good care of me a saw me weekly to ensure my eyes were healing and getting better. They were accommodating and scheduled my appointments to fit my schedule, even last minute changes. This is just a word of caution. First let me say that my son has been a patient at this practice for several years and I have always been pleased with the service and that is why I decided to give it a try for my gas permeable (hard) contact lenses. As with most lenses for people who are very nearsighted, the first pair did not work. I wore them a week, as instructed, came back in for the follow-up, and it was determined that a better fit was needed. The second pair came in and I wore them for not quite a week and although they fit better, my eyes were very tired and sore and the end of each day. I just thought they were still adjusting to the the new lenses so I did not make a huge issue of it on my visit on 12/20/18 - I wish I would have. I kept wearing them, hoping that my eyes just needed to adjust but they have not and I realized that the irritation was not going to get better. I called the office on 1/7/19 to let them know that I was experiencing discomfort with the lenses and if I could bring them back and get glasses instead. The individual who answered the phone said she would have to check with the doctor and give me a call back. Hours later she called back and said that they could not take them back but if I wanted to get glasses, my frames were covered by my insurance and all I would have to pay for were the lenses (the most expensive part.) I was slightly taken aback that she would try to make another sell when I am now stuck with contact lenses that I cannot wear. I am now wearing my previous lenses purchased at another location last year. I need to stress, that until this situation, I was pleased with the office and I understand that this is a business but it had not been an unreasonable amount of time and I was going to make another purchase. Even if they would have taken a loss on this pair of contacts, I would have greatly appreciated more value being placed on me as a customer and the ultimate comfort of my eyes. Again, I just want to stress that if you are having any uncertainties make it clear and ask how long you have to assess if the situation gets better. read more

I've been a regular customer at Vision Source for 4 years now. When I first went to Dr. Nguyen, I had an eye condition called pterygium. I had to get surgery and the only way for it to not relapse while wearing contact lenses was for me to keep my eyes from being dry. Dr. Nguyen recommended certain a type of contact lenses that were really good for my eyes, and my condition has not returned. I get check-ups every year and Dr. Nguyen keeps my eyes healthy. Horrible experience! DO NOT ORDER GLASSES OR CONTACTS FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Office "Manager" Mary is completely unprofessional and rude! Your lenses are wrong and you will NOT BE REFUNDED OR LENSES REPLACED! Dr. Kay Nguyen will not return my phone call, so I go in to see her, and after waiting for 40 minutes, she argues with me and refuses to re-make my glasses correct unless I repay in full, I've had the glasses 24 hours... I have worn glasses for years and never have I experienced an eye doctor who wouldn't fix an issue with a lens! I have been going here for three years and thought I found a very good business. But unfortunately my last appointment will be my last at this business. I had never shopped around for contacts because I just went there for my appointment and bought my contacts from them. But I switched to daily contacts and this business wanted to charge me $600 for a year supply. I was actually going to pay it until my wife told me to shop around. I was out with my wife and did not have my prescription. I called the office and asked for my prescription and they got an attitude with me and refused to give it to me. I initially thought it was because they couldn't verify my identity, but it was really because they want to me to spend the money at their office. I understand it's a business, but the customer just asked for his prescription and they refused and was very rude. Only after I threatened that I'm never coming back did they give me my prescription. My same contacts will be $150 at Cosco. I went back for my follow up appointment and voice my concerns to the optometrist. She did not seem to believe her employees did anything wrong. She just gave me the generic OK OK I'll talk to her. I understand every customer is not a valued customer so this customer is not valued will go elsewhere in the future. If you do use this business do not buy glasses or contacts from there because you are paying 2 to 3 times with you actually have to pay. read more
