I originally went searching for an eye doctor because I was tired of the usual experience--chaos every time you walk in, long waits while being shuffled from room to room, never being able to reach anyone by phone, and appointments booked months out. New View is the complete opposite. The office is friendly, modern, and incredibly efficient. Jessica is an absolute gem--her customer service is outstanding. And of course, Dr. Kasanoff is great too. It's easy to feel a little stressed when getting a glasses exam (you don't want to pick the wrong letters!) but he has a way of making you feel comfortable. It's rare these days to find a medical office that is this well-run while still feeling genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend New View and Dr. Kasanoff!

I was greatly warmly at the front desk by a young woman who took my information and let me know who would be out to see me first. I waited for about ten minutes and was asked to follow a nurse to a small room to do several eye tests. She returned me to the waiting room which was attached to their eyeglass area with lots of frame options. Dr. Morgan came out and got me and escorted me to an exam room. He went through the normal battery of tests. He asked lots of questions and was straightforward with information which I appreciated. I got my new prescription and took a look around at all of the frames. All of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend to facility and Dr. Morgan. Every staff member greets you with a warm hello and smile. My previous Dr. left to another facility so I had the services performed by Dr. Rachel Inlow and she was nothing short of amazing. she was very detailed and conveyed the information in an easy to understand language. I'll definitely be requesting her for my next annual exam. The fees are very reasonable (I had to pay "out of pocket) and I consider a great value. If you're due for you annual exam I highly recommend Lake Murray Optometric without reservation. Also recently my wife's expensive pair of glasses became damaged (one of the ear piece hinges broke and couldn't be repaired). I brought them to Lake Murray Optometric (where they were purchased) and Des Elsen one of the Opticians said she'd try and get the frames replaced under warranty. She was successful and when the frames were received she sent the frames out for installing the frame lenses. Everything was performed under warranty and with a smile. Thank You Des for saving us hundreds of dollars!

I had an unexpected crisis at work and was running 15 minutes late. I explained the situation but was told I would have to pay $75 to see my doctor, or I could see a different doctor for free. How does that make sense? My vision is complicated, and continuity of care matters. I understand having policies, but there should also be room for compassion and reasonable judgment. This experience made it feel like collecting a fee was more important than patient care. After 35 years with a doctor who truly cared about his patients, this was incredibly disappointing.

I've been to many optometrists my whole life and they have all gotten me to a "good enough" place. Dr. Giles took the extra extra time and did a very thorough exam. (he has the latest equipment and technology that I've never seen before) He gave me a new prescription that had me seeing 20/20, and some exercises to improve my focus, because that is the main area that I have an issue with. None of the optometrists that I've seen in the past ever explained my problems to me and gave me solutions. He also specializes in vision therapy and is one of very few in San Diego trained in this specialty. I highly recommend him and this practice. The parking is great, there is a spot labeled "Gilles" for you to park, he's on the second floor. Easy to find with elevators as well. TL;DR: If you're looking for a new optometrist or need a second opinion, Dr. Giles is the best. I'm looking forward to my follow up in 2 weeks to see how much my vision improves after the exercises!
