I walked in not really knowing what to expect so I was a little anxious but everyone I talked to really made me feel comfortable. They were armed with information and really listened to all my concerns. Realizing that my brain was working really hard to see things and that I really did need glasses was a little overwhelming. I got a little emotional but the eye doctor was so caring and reassuring I was able to pull myself together quickly lol. The woman who helped me pick out my glasses was just a gem! She was so patient with me while I tried on half the store. I really appreciated that. Her honest opinions came from a place of making sure I got what I felt good in. I never felt rushed. My recent, and first time visit to Eye Designs Optometry in Roseville falls in the latter... it was just excellent. From Leanne, the Optical Dispenser who displayed the Gold Standard of Customer Service and advice for my 'Face Jewelery', to Jenny, who administered the tests (and was excellent at what she did), to Precious, who handled front desk duties very professionally, and finally to Dr. Pham (thorough, knowledgable, and a great speaking voice!)... it was a great experience. Wonderful selection of eye wear. Comparable prices to other independent eye offices. And a warm and friendly feeling you don't get at other places, where those places can make you feel more like 'a number', and an 'imposition on their time'. You don't get any of that at Eye Designs. I heard Precious on the phone with patients and it sounds like they take a wide variety of insurance plans. And the best part? They ARE NOT a part of VSP Ventures, the massive conglomerate that is buying out all of the local independent practices. That's a huge plus... you're still getting that local/home-town feel, without the obnoxious corporate greed that has taken over the optical world. So there you go... no excuses to not go! That message alone speaks volumes to me, especially after the way my concerns were originally dismissed. Instead of addressing those concerns professionally at the time, the response I received focused more on defending the doctor and implying I overreacted. The fact that the office recently reached out to inform me he is no longer there only reinforces that what I experienced was real and not simply imagined or exaggerated. Since then, I found an amazing new eye doctor, My New Eye Doctor with Dr. Christine Snow, O.D. The difference has been night and day. The office is professional, clean, kind, patient, understanding, and respectful. Come to find out, my eyesight is still very good. I wear simple reading glasses that can even be purchased at a regular store. Yet during my appointment at Vista Point, I was made to feel as though my vision was terrible or abnormal for my age. They should have that info on file. They're either using new people for billing, or just don't know what their doing. Be careful. We have always been told NOT to give away medical numbers on the phone, but they asked, which we thought unusual. Will take the info over in person, let them make the copies, and sign for the info today. *************************** UPDATE: The Dr called and he knew exactly how to bill, and knew we were correct in questioning the billing issue, so "all's well that ends well"! We hope that he supports his front end staff in some additional training, because they are the people that can cause a problem in keeping their customers happy.
