Putting on the glasses not just gave me a calm shade but it extended my vision from my balcony. I almost screamed out loud of happiness. It was awesome. BEside that ... I have been going to see Dr. Tran for 17/18 years back when she worked in Walmart. She is the best around! Love her! However within the past year or two the man at the front office (Stan?) has been rude to me, but I let that slide because Dr. Tran is amazing. Fast forward to recently I wanted him to bill my Insurance for full amount, but he would only bill what they said I had left (12$). Now I'm in a position I can't get my FSA money without them billing. I even called my insurance to see if it's Ok if they bill them after the fact and they said yes, but still Stan will not bill them. I highly recommend Dr.Tran. Just be aware of the the guy in the front office. read more

Dr. Tran is amazing! She's so easy to talk to and super welcoming, she gave me some thoughtful advice as a college student during my first visit. Her eye exams are very thorough, more so than past optometry visits at other offices. She's also super informative and helped explain things like the special curvature of my eyes and showed pictures of real life examples of dryness, irritation, etc. Dr. Tran is extremely personable and I loved talking with her! I came to dr. Tran for a second opinion on my vision to see if my problems could be cleared up. I was happy at my previous optomitrist but decided i was so irritated in my glasses. My contacts were to drying. My eyes watered or dried up constantly and i had no relief with them in the summer. I didnt mind my glasses to read but I'd rip um off just as soon as i could and i refused to drive with them as they made me nauseous. I couldn't even walk in the glasses either. Uggghh so frusterated so i went to see what Dr. Tran saw and she saw through my frustrations and litteraly got me a prescription i dont even realize im wearing and i hated my old glasses. One week ago I needed to get my eyes checked. I honestly have been thinking I'm slowly going blind over the last decade. Turns out, that all of my optometrist have truly been terrible. Like really bad and I had no clue. So I went to where a lot of bad ideas start and logged on to Yelp. Who would have known that the optometrist with the coolest name, with only nineteen reviews, all five stars and located in Yuba City CA was a legit miracle worker? Usually that few of reviews and all 5 Stars means "stop, bad idea...friends and family definitely stacked that deck." However, Dr. Loan Tran, at Butte View Optometry, took time to really tune it in. I picked up my glasses today and as the sun went down and the moon came up I realized that the moon, in fact, isn't a fuzzy glowing bright white ball. The moon is actually a textured, worn, scared, cratered, battered and immensely beautiful rock floating in space that with the help of the sun and universe, lights my way down dark paths. New glasses! This is my second pair with Dr. Tran!! She is just absolutely amazing. She blows me away every time I get my glasses. She sees everything I need to be comfortable and it seems so effortless with her. It is always a pleasant visit with her and her staff, they are so good at what they do! Talk about a well built team! Last night (December 18,2018) I we t and picked up my new glasses. They have me sit down,they bri g me the glasses and try them on and I'm telling you! My very first shock was I didnt see the blinding areas in these glasses and they were so clear. I can see everything!!! I got the anti-glare for the extra $64 dollars and my night time driving will now exist when before I just would t chance it. Best Investment ever. I yelped for an optometrist and scheduled an appt because this one had all 5 star reviews. Now I know why. Went to get my eyes checked yesterday, and had a very pleasant experience with the visit. Everyone was very nice. This has been my best experience seeing an optometrist. They didn't try to pressure me to buy more than what I went in for. I went just to get my eyes checked because I have started to use readers. Dr Tran educated me in how this is normal with age and how to take care of my eyes. She gave me what appeared to be a thorough exam.. it's a good team she has there. Stan did a great job before seeing Dr Tran. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. I was a little skeptical about going to a new Optometrist as the last one my husband and myself had seen did a terrible job of setting us up with glasses and charged a bundle. But, when you get to the point you can't see the trees, OR the forest you find someone to help. We made the appointment, went in and were greeted with smiles and friendly people. Dr. Tran explained everything to each of us, took extra time with my eye tests due to issues with my eyes. Within 2 weeks we received the call to pick up our new glasses. Prices were very good and they made sure everything worked well for us. I think the glasses worked way too good as I had no idea I had so many "laugh-lines". Years ago, my wife and I fled Yuba City with no desire to ever return. As such, it was with great reluctance that we reluctantly made the trek back up to Yuba City to see Dr. Tran, based upon a friend's glowing recommendations . It was sooooo worth the 45 minute trip. As other posters have so correctly put it, Dr, Tran is quite simply "as good as it gets". My wife and I have both been stuck wearing glasses for more than 30 years, and that is what it always felt like, being "stuck." As such, we looked into the surgery options but discovered they were not good candidates for it due to our eye shape and condition (my eyesight is TERRIBLE). After 30 years of dreading eye exams and getting new glasses, going to Dr. Tran was a breath of fresh air. First, the exam was as thorough (and oddly enjoyable) as any we ever had. You could tell Dr. Tran really wanted to make sure everything was perfect, and that she was not just "going through the motions" as most optometrists seem to do. The office has a somewhat informal and "family" feel to it, but despite that, I always felt like I was was in the hands of a true knowledgeable professional. (Believe me it is scary sometimes to go to an optometrist and feel like you know more about the industry then they do.) I learned more from Dr. Tran in one visit than in all my prior visits to other optometrists combined. The care we received from Dr. Tran was of far higher quality than from any other optometrist we have ever been to (apart from the Wheaton Eye Clinic outside Chicago, where the Doctors are also very, very knowledgeable, but less friendly and extremely expensive). The glasses we got at Butte View Optometry were great. Dr. Tran and her staff even convinced my wife and I that since our glasses were a daily part of our life, to go from just trying to have our glasses just blend in, to having them be a fashion statement to enhance our looks (think Tina Fey, Elton John, John Lennon, Morpheus, etc.). Obviously, as veteran eye-glass wearers know, remember take your time and chose wisely making sure the frames you select are comfortable and practical for you -- remember you will be wearing them every day for years. Great doctor! I had to wait about 30 minutes after my appointment and was a little frustrated, but after the wait, I had my eye exam, the wait was well worth it. She takes her time on the patient and does a very thorough exam and explains everything to you in details before letting you leave. She's not one of those doctors that tries getting patients in and out as fast as they can. read more

I called Butte View Optometry to get a quote on the cost of their lenses. The woman on the other end was rude and gave the "it depends" answer. I'm sure the cost is indeed dependent on a variety of factors, such as add on coatings (anti-reflective, polarized, transitions, etc) and type of lenses (polycarbonate, trivex, hi-index). However, I've had glasses for over 15 years and have learned optical terminology over time and was able to tell her exactly what I wanted, including my prescription, therefore narrowing down the dependent factors. There was nothing I could not provide an answer for. She still refused to give me an estimate and said she couldn't help me because I needed to come in. The very specific information I provided to her over the phone would be the same information I'd give to her in person during an office visit. She could have very well given me an quote. Just because you're not a novice in a particular area, does not mean you should get refused a service. I was considering this place, as I'm looking for a new optometrist, however, given the lack of help and rudeness toward a potential new patient, my decision in choosing an optometrist became clear...and it's definitely not this place! As part of the process, a patient needs to interact with not only the doctor, but the staff as well, so I decided to go with Distinctive Eyes Optometry. The staff there was friendly and knowledgeable and their exams are more affordable than Butte View Optometry. read more

I had this plastic made Ray ban frame I asked them to install new glasses into them after when I got my glasses they were horribly fitted and cut. the plastic frame had a whole new design to it I payed about $200 for the frame I was so mad after I saw the before and after result of the frame.
