While they did not have it in stock, the manager offered to call multiple other stores to have them sent over to try on. I found an even better pair instead and made my purchase and was very pleased by the discount added on. I returned later to ask about a sale online and the manager tried to apply that discount but was unable to after an impressive amount of time. After leaving the eyeglass store (behind Target's Starbucks if you have trouble finding it like I did) for some regular Target shopping, she came and found me because she got the additional discount to work with the help of a coworker. I was very impressed by that above and beyond care for a customer!

Sometimes these experiences are good, sometimes not, and sometimes, though sadly, and very rare, they are excellent. 'Above and Beyond' is what one might say. My recent, and first time visit to Eye Designs Optometry in Roseville falls in the latter... it was just excellent. From Leanne, the Optical Dispenser who displayed the Gold Standard of Customer Service and advice for my 'Face Jewelery', to Jenny, who administered the tests (and was excellent at what she did), to Precious, who handled front desk duties very professionally, and finally to Dr. Pham (thorough, knowledgable, and a great speaking voice!)... it was a great experience. Wonderful selection of eye wear. Comparable prices to other independent eye offices. And a warm and friendly feeling you don't get at other places, where those places can make you feel more like 'a number', and an 'imposition on their time'. You don't get any of that at Eye Designs. I heard Precious on the phone with patients and it sounds like they take a wide variety of insurance plans. And the best part? They ARE NOT a part of VSP Ventures, the massive conglomerate that is buying out all of the local independent practices. That's a huge plus... you're still getting that local/home-town feel, without the obnoxious corporate greed that has taken over the optical world. So there you go... no excuses to not go! Make an appointment, and go in for the best service and a selection that is second to none.

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I took my daughter here for a routine eye exam, expecting a simple checkup. Instead, the doctor told her that he thought her retina was going to detach and that she could potentially go blind over the weekend. He delivered this information directly in front of her, without considering the impact it would have on a child. My daughter became so frightened that she had an anxiety/panic attack right there in the office. The experience has since left her with a serious fear of eye doctors. We immediately sought a second opinion from a specialist, who determined that what the doctor had seen was simply a birthmark on her eye and that there was nothing wrong with her. My issue is not that the doctor was concerned or wanted to be cautious. My issue is how the information was communicated and the lack of bedside manner, especially with a child sitting right there. There was no reason to deliver such frightening information to her in that manner before the diagnosis had been confirmed. We will never return, and I would especially not recommend this office for children. The way a doctor communicates with a child matters, and this experience has had a lasting impact on my daughter

After previously defending Dr. Nguyen's behavior and framing my experience as a "misunderstanding"…read moreor personality mismatch, the owner recently contacted me privately through Yelp to let me know that "Dr. Nguyen is no longer with our practice." That message alone speaks volumes to me, especially after the way my concerns were originally dismissed. My original complaint was that I felt laughed at, mocked, dismissed, and disrespected throughout my medical exam while repeatedly expressing discomfort. Instead of addressing those concerns professionally at the time, the response I received focused more on defending the doctor and implying I overreacted. The fact that the office recently reached out to inform me he is no longer there only reinforces that what I experienced was real and not simply imagined or exaggerated. Since then, I found an amazing new eye doctor, My New Eye Doctor with Dr. Christine Snow, O.D. The difference has been night and day. The office is professional, clean, kind, patient, understanding, and respectful. Come to find out, my eyesight is still very good. I wear simple reading glasses that can even be purchased at a regular store. Yet during my appointment at Vista Point, I was made to feel as though my vision was terrible or abnormal for my age. People deserve to feel respected, safe, and taken seriously during a medical appointment.
