If you're looking for quality contractors that can get the job done, I wouldn't settle for anyone else. I had a pipe burst in my home at 2am on a weekday. VIP Steemer showed up within an hour to begin water mitigation (mind you I live in Northern. VA. and they are based in MD). I called plumbers to fix the broken pipe, but everyone was booked for days, and wanted to charge thousands for the job. Julian (Owner of VIP Steemer) had a plumber at my house within two hours and they managed to fixed the problem in less than thirty minutes and only charged a fraction of the price. I had no idea what to expect with my insurance company considering I had never experienced this before. Julian walked me through the process and even negotiated with my insurance adjuster to make sure I was getting top dollar for my repairs. Thankfully everything worked out. I echo the same sentiment as other reviewers who have been burned by Julian and his very unprofessional business tactics. We were in a desperate spot with a flood on a Sunday and he sent a worker (immediately which I am grateful for) to set up the drying machines. He left shortly after with no fee quote or estimate and no assessment and told us to speak to Julian. That trapped us into using Julian and his fees after he left the equipment at our home. In the 48 hour period from receiving the invoice to completing payment - he probably called and texted me 20 times. In one text he mentioned that he wanted to talk to my husband "man to man". The behavior was appalling - please do not fall for the ads for this company. It was a dark experience that I would like to move on from. read more

This company is a fraud...run away! Working with Julian (the POC for the project from the VIP restoration side) was a-okay experience but the whole process was so daunting and here is why: 1. Poor quality contractors (multiples of unskilled contractors come and go to finish one task) 2. Poor quality products/materials (we paid for an upgrade but all products installed seem to be downgrade from what we had originally) 3. Poor project management and communication skills - that led to slip in schedule, budget and time of the project. 4. A lot of cracks, poor painting jobs, unmatched paint colors, breaking/cracking working doors, rework of installations due to poor measurements done in the beginning and unfinished work at the end of the project. 5. Almost a year now since we went through this process, the cabinets (supposedly upgraded from what we originally had) are falling apart already. The fake wood is peeling. Just for comparison purposes, the old cabinet we had for over 15 years was as sturdy and quality till the day they removed and installed the so-called upgraded white cabinets. 6. The new sink/water faucet they installed is leaking and has damaged the hardwood floor they installed just at about the year mark. Now we are looking at molded kitchen floor and a need to replace the "new" faucet they installed. 7. The value of our house will actually be affected by the shitty kitchen upgrade project they did. Lessons learned: 1. Make sure to decouple the material purchase from who installs it. If possible, provide the materials and paintings yourself. 2. Have all your expectations in writing and get signature from both parties. 3. Have pictures taken before the restoration work is began. 4. Compare prices and read reviews before you give your project to any company 5. Don't sign the final paper if you are not satisfied with the work. Instead talk to your insurance about your dissatisfaction. Very unfortunate experience on our end but we highly recommend you not to fall for their scheme. read more

You think you can trust him but you are eventually destined to be a fool. Julian's VIP can control you and your situation just like he does with his machines. He will claim that he is the best and have the integrity in the business of cleaning, restoring, or repairing the damages of your precious house since 20... This business is not BBB and IICRC (only 1). To earn the IICRC accreditation, the business and its employees must be all certified. In his elaborate website to impress you, he has perfected the art of falsifying everything, the same way he has been conducting his business. Julian (member/owner) would say anything to get you to sign up a contract. Once he's done the bad deed of less work for more money, he would get you and your insurance to pay him more money. His strategy is to cheat you and your insurance. It's just insurance, no harm is his business. If you let this guy get away with it, then you have been cheated as well. He is a camelian from being nice to very unprofessional. He does not care about you and your belongings; he only cares about your to be his MONEY. If you can read his mind, he only thinks in his head about how much $$$$ he can take from you which eventually come out of his intimidation tactics mouth. Estimate to the low price, Demolish, Steal your belongings and never return them so he can profit from them, put his machines for as long as he can get more money, and leave; come back to retrieve his machines and collect his money (the only words would come out of his mouth, demanding "Where's my money?"). He has no shame and should appear in the News Hall of Shame. He would harassed you because he knows he can collect the money regardless of his fraudulent inflated charges. Then, he goes to the next victim somewhere else where he can cheat again. He would take your service request where ever you live - near or far. Julian is a hidden scammer operating a home improvement business - he would offer super low prices only to demand exorbitant fees once the work started or finished. Start...Write and file a complain where you can reach out. Start...reviewing Julian Iwundu's VIP everywhere you find him because he is everywhere in the internet putting an image that he is a professional that he claims to be. Do yourself a favor, Suspect him if you choose to forgo a business with him. But the best thing you will ever do for your peace of mind is NEVER give him your trust or never deal with him because he will be honored to deplete your money and mess you up. Be alarmed that the testimonials are his, not his customers. I'm the real testimonial, the real proof. You must be glad that I warned you to never do business with VIP Steemer. Do not hire this company NO matter how desperate you are. They don't do what they say they will. The customer service group they outsource to is wonderful but they can't help you. They'll tell you they are dispatching a crew that will be there in a hour and no one shows for hours. You'll call their customer service multiple times and ask where they are. They have no idea. A representative from the company called hours later around 3AM and said they'll be there at 7AM and they arrive at 9:30AM. This is from an initial call around 10:30PM. If a company is in the remediation business they are dealing with people in stressful situations. Instead of taking stress away they will add it which if you've been in this situation you'll understand. I'd recommend ServePro every time and I wish I had waited for them. Another suggestion is to look up remediation companies your insurance company works with online. Wish I had also done this. Also make sure you read every line on their bill and verify it. read more

They gave an appointment time of 11:00am and the called to say they cancelled and said they couldn't make it until 2:00pm. 2:00pm came and went finally at 6:30 pm they got in contact with my husband and said they couldn't make it at all! BEWARE: This is the most dysfunctional, unorganized and unprofessional business I have ever encountered. It was ultimately the worst 3 weeks of my life. If I could give no stars I wouldn't hesitate. It begins with the arrogance from Julian, who can not handle answering simple questions asked by a customer, ie. how many people will be coming to my home, or who is coming to my home. Not one time given by them was ever kept and ALWAYS had excuses for their failure to appropriately schedule and keep the time given. The work itself done by Cleatus is done so sloppy. I wish i could post pictures I took of how he just threw our things on one side of the room things that were not damaged he managed to damage. He has no concern for your property and it shows in his work. I strongly advise anyone in need of water damage repair or anything this "company" professes to offer seek it elsewhere. This company should not be in business. HE IS NOT LICENSED IN VA and I will be reporting him to the VA DPOR and MD DLLR. We had a major clog in our sewer line and Julian Iwundu (the owner) promised the could do three things A) snake out the clog and b) remediate the sewage that had spilled all over our basement furnace room, bathroom and hall and c) begin on an emergency basis. His technician came around 5 hours later than promised even though I explained we had a major party that evening with dozens of people coming. We could not use our toilets or any water source at any time or it would spill more sewage. They not only failed to fix the problem, they made the situation far worse. The tech, named Cletus, was NOT a licensed plumber, did not even bring a vice grip to open the traps and was clueless as to what to do when his snake attempt failed (his snake was far too short). This was a category 3 sewage spill and the tech walked through the sewage many times and tracked it all over my carpet in other parts of the house! When I raised this with Julian he responded incredibly by saying "did you expect him to take off his shoes and walk barefoot?" No, I expected him to have two pairs of shoes, one for sewage and one for walking back to the truck or around my house, I expected him to be a licensed plumber, expected him to bring the right equipment for the job, and expected him to show up remotely on time. The party continued and my friends had to hold it all night! My children, of course, couldn't hold it, and the sewage spill grew and grew. It was a nightmare. We still have not bathed 30 hours later. Julian then had the gall to still demand payment for the time he spent even though the work was never completed and was attempted far too late, and they caused more damage. He also promised to send a guy out first thing the next morning but he did not show up and did not respond to my message until the afternoon. I had to call everyone myself and by then the insurance company approved us going with another company which we did. Julian is shameless and tried to guilt me, the victim of his wrongdoing, into paying him money. He has six BBB complaints and just earned another. Do not hire him. read more

I called VIP Steemer when I had a flood in my basement in Januay. Three rooms were affected family room, laundry room and bathroom. Julian Iwundu came and very professionally removed the water, set up the fans and returned when promised. I was impressed with him and asked if he could do the repair work of replacing the flooring in the three rooms. I signed the contract in February and he ordered the flooring. It took 2 weeks for the flooring to arrive because he said they sent the wrong floor tiles. Two of the rooms have been completed. Upon completion, in March, I sent him photos of imperfections in the tiles and the shotie installation in the laundry room and that the tiles in the bathroom were laid crooked and the grout was darker in some areas. He told me not to scrutinize the quality work until all the work had been completed and if he could do something about it he would. Mind you, that was in March and this is May and he has not been back to my home to look at the work that his workers had completed. Whenever I would text him about my frustration with how long it was taking, or what time the workers would be arriving he would say that I was getting angry at the smallest little things or I was bulling him. My bathroom is still not been completed . Workers were suppose to be at my home on Saturday, April 29th and he called to say that he was short staffed so no one was available to come. I called him on Monday, May 8th and have never received a return call. My frustration level is off the richter scale. I'm not quite sure what Julian Iwundu's title is, owner/project manager but I do know he's an unprofessional liar. I would not recommend VIP Steemer to anyone. read more

Back in July I bought a living social voucher to have 2 rooms cleaned (600 sq ft) for $49.99 (half off normal purchase). I confirmed the date/time and was set. The day of the cleaning, the guy did not show. An hour goes by and I called them - they tell me they were delayed and will be there within an hour. Another hour goes by and they call me and tell me it will be another hour. Long story short, the guy shows up about 3 hours late for the appointment. He then looks at my apartment and says "this is more than 600 sq. ft" (it wasn't) so the voucher does not apply. He then doubles the cost on me and says it costs $100 for 3 rooms even though I only have a livingroom and a bedroom. Since I needed the service done (and $100 is mostly the going rate for 2 rooms elsewhere) I just agreed to it. After I paid him and left, I noticed that he missed an entire section by the kitchen that was about 2 feet by 2 feet, so I had a section of carpet that was darker than the rest. These guys are unprofessional and will try to up-charge you. Would absolutely not recommend this company. read more

VIP Steemer was excellent in their customer service from the first contact with them. They showed up on a holiday as it was December 23 when the flood happened in our home. They responded the same night after hours and began water restoration services immediately. They were friendly, fast and continued to come back daily until the work was completed. They sent in ladies to clean up the mud left from the water damage after the rooms were dry and they had begun the removal of damaged drywall and floorboards. They were there to help us and jumped in to do the work when our insurance company left us hanging for days and were not willing to send out contractors to begin the process of restoration for days on end due to it being the holiday season between Christmas and New Years. We called VIP Steemer after the initial night of cleanup and found out they could handle the complete process immediately and contracted with them to do the entire job from start to finish. They worked with us on inventory of our damaged and salvaged household goods for the insurance company claim, packaging and storage in a facility in order for the restoration process to begin to restore our house for the contracting portion of the work. It was a seamless process and they were careful to take excellent care of all our goods as if it were their own. Our items were completely safe with them. Julian Iwundu worked with us and developed a relationship with us throughout the entire process keeping us abreast of the progress and inquiring on our satisfaction. If something was not to our liking during the contractor phase, they went out of their way to fix it immediately. Julian Iwundu walked us through how to send our insurance check to the mortgage company to get it signed off so we could get it back to sign it and turn it over to his company when the work was finally completed and was very patient in the process (homeowners may not know that this occurs when there are damages to your property on an insurance claim when you have a mortgage with a large claim). They even brought everything back in excellent condition from the storage facility when the work was completed. We could not be more pleased with the entire job from start to finish. We were sad to see them go when everything was done that is how happy we were to have them around during the time they spent working on our home. We will definitely contact them again if we need any recovery, cleaning, contractor or moving services because of the level of trust they inspired in us. read more
