It was my first time getting a color gel manicure at VIP Nails in Yonkers. I've gone to this nail salon a lot of times for regular mani-pedi and tbh, I'd always go home disappointed, but I still come back and hope the next time I go, it would be a pleasant experience. It was so horrible that I could not contain myself and I had to say something. The girl who did my nails was in her 20-30s and probably she was still practicing. I told her I do not have any cuticles because I barely get my nails done. She still used the scraper and the nails nipper harshly on me. She was rushing so much that my delicate thin skin got 3 cuts and they were bleeding. I was already furious at this time, but I managed to hold my composure and gave the girl a chance to finish. Before she finished coating my nails and I got a glimpse of all my nail, I told her that she did not paint and cover my entire nails. It was so bad that it looked like my nails already look like they grew a week already and my pre-manicure was actually better looking than the result. Her reason was because I chose a sparkle pink color that's why they are not completely covered, yet my right thumb nail bed was completely painted. After I paid her, she could tell that I was not satisfied. She gave me my change and I asked her to give me singles because I felt like she did a half-ass job. She made a face like she expected a big tip. It was ridiculous! She was lucky I gave her $3. The worst part of it was waiting for my mom to get her nails done and seeing her nails. Her nails were perfectly painted by a guy. And that is when I showed my nails to the guy manicurist. He didn't say anything at first. I could not stop showing my nails and complaining to my mom. When I paid for my mom's nails, I told them that my nails are not nice and that next time if I ever go, I do not want her ever again. They offered to fix them and I said "Yes!". The same girl did them and she was so upset and talking in her native language to the other manicurists. She rushed and hurt me again. The result was better than what it was, but I will never go back there ever again. I do not deserve that kind of treatment. I went there for a relaxing manicure, not for a painful experience. The girl manicurist made it seem like she was doing my nails for free and I should be thankful that she was forced by her colleagues to go over and add more coating on my nails to cover what she missed. This nail salon would nothing without their paying customers! Customers are always right especially when it comes to their nails. read more
