*Price scam at 235th location* I went in today with my three year old daughter to get her first manicure. I had gone in 2 days ago to confirm the price for a toddler manicure -$10. When I went in today I looked at the nail polishes and asked which ones were "non toxic"- the man at the cash pointed out which ones, and my daughter picked her color. The woman who did the manicure was fantastic- so kind and patient with my toddler. When I went to go pay, the man behind the register told me it would be 25 dollars. I told him that I was told that a toddler manicure was 10 dollars. He said ok, it would be 16.50 since I picked out a "non toxic" brand. I asked him where it was posted that it costs more money for this brand, and he showed me in the pamphlet that a "weekly manicure" was $22. I pointed out this doesn't tell me that this brand of nail polish costs more. I said he should have told me this when I asked about the brand originally. He blamed it on me and told me I should have asked if it costs more- how would I know this when there were no signs to indicate some brands were more expensive than others? He told me we could take off her nail polish and redo it with a different brand (which makes no sense). I felt that I was being totally taken advantage of and told him I'm giving him 10 dollars and it was final. He accepted it in the end. This is not a smart way to run a business. This review is regarding the 235th street location. I have been a regular customer but my most recent gel manicure was completely chipped by the third day. I spoke to the manager to have it redone --gel manicures should last 3-4 weeks. He not only refused to do it, he blamed ME for the chips, saying my nails had broken and that I was doing an unusual amount of work with my hands, neither of which was true. He offered me only 10$ off and they charge 45$ for a gel manicure. I told him I was taking my business elsewhere. Went around the corner to Posh Nails. Their gel manicure is only 38$ and I've heard rave reviews. Save your money and don't come here --if you scroll you'll see several bad reviews. Extremely poor customer service, bad business. They are also more expensive than every other salon in the area. Not worth the money just to have a glitzy atmosphere. read more

This is a long review, but one I would appreciate reading before going here to waste my money. I wanted to love this salon, so I've given them a few chances -- It's been a hit or miss, and the only person I would recommend is Ron. However, this last time really took it over the top and I feel the need to write a review. The only nice thing about this salon is the aesthetic and how spacious it is. The service is TERRIBLE and every nail tech but him does an awful job at something as simple as a regular manicure and pedicure. I would specifically avoid Lilly (wears black eyeglasses) and the other lady who sits on the second row as well and right side corner. She has brownish-orange hair. Unfortunately she wasn't wearing a name tag, but I will be talking about my experience getting a regular manicure with her. I went with my mom and they were doing such a poor job with our pedicures. My mom asked them to please clean her cuticles and immediately they started speaking mandarin, laughing, doing gestures and you could tell they were talking about us. I asked them to politely do it because I wanted it to be a good experience. However, it was as if they were annoyed that we were paying attention to the crappy job they were doing. They were trying to soak our feet in water and paint our nails -- that's it. My mom asked for them to switch her nail tech for the pedicure and they rudely did. Once they were done, Lilly walked away annoyed and didn't want to do my mom's manicure, so another girl did it. I did a regular mani and asked for a French design, and Lilly's friend only applied one coat of the base. When I asked her to add another coat she pretended she didn't understand and thought it was a good idea to do it after applying the white French line.... Like WHAT?! my nails looked all pink and the French line was hiding. Mind you, this was AFTER she asked me to pay which I still did without a problem. I always pay with a credit card and tip in cash. She had the nerves to ask if I was going to tip, and I said "yes I always do, but in cash and later." Thankfully Ron was there and since I've gotten my nails done with him before, I showed him a picture of what I was expecting. She didn't start from scratch she added another base coat on top and did the white line again on top -- all crooked and messy. I was honestly just over it at that point. While she finished my nails, I noticed my mom was done and was taken to the drying station. I KNOW every time you go there they give you a quick back massage while you dry your nails. The girl who did my mom's manicure (sits on the left corner) didn't even bother!!!!! I thought to myself like, "Ok, I'm taking notes on this amazing customer service." Anyway, it's been two days and the manicure chipped off and one of my nails broke. I mean I literally could've done a better job myself and saved $80. Overall, I will never return to this place and do not recommend it. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I hope they read this and change their staff or train them on proper customer service etiquette. read more

This nail salon is closest to my home and my "go to" place due to the close proximity. I always schedule an appointment. However, on two occasions they had me wait over 20 minutes. The nail tech then approaches me frustrated as if she is doing me a favor and I'm not actually paying for the service. The gentleman who manages the place is not very friendly either - also greets you like he is doing you a favor. I used to go to Allure Spa on East 56 Street, New York, NY for many years after an injury to my two toes on my left foot. I developed a fungus due to the nail bed and nerve damage to my toe. After over two years of laser therapy for all my toes and medication, I went to one of the best pedicurists at Allure Spa and brought my own tools etc. After explaining to them about my issue, she was very careful not to puncture the skin and after finishing, she would even use hydrogen peroxide to make sure to avoid anything. She didn't come back during Covid or after. So, I didn't use a pedicurist for 2 years. Since this nail salon is so close to my home...I checked the reviews and I took a chance to get a therapeutic pedicure with no polish etc. All this pedicurist did was want to up sell more products and procedures. She wasn't pleasant...constantly looking up to the front door. But the worst part was that she used a tool that goes under the nail and around the cuticle to scrape out the dead skin. She used one of the sharpest and the pain was so strong that I jumped out of my chair and told her it was very sharp. But she did three more times to the other toes. That was March 31st and I am still sore and can hardly walk. I will NEVER go back. I was very generous in my tip, but she just wasn't very nice. read more

The nail tech, while really nice, couldn't do the design which was okay. I told her to just give me a regular gel manicure and it was gloppy, and my nails were filed uneven. The end result was a streaky, gloppy, uneven, and chipped gel manicure. The polish doesn't even cover the sides of the nail and was not completely filled in at the base of the nail. The actual person that did my feet was great i got a standard pedicure while on my lunch break. when i was finishing the person that did my feet was busy so i tried to ask someone else that worked there for some help in making sure my feet was dry and THATS where the problem came in! Well, if i could sum up my experience with Nails & Bubbles... it would be "awesome." They took care of my mother, aunt, and myself. We all got similar packages and each of us got special attention. We were seen right away, and on time. The place is nice, warm, bright, and clean. Lots of staff on hand to take care of the customers who've made appointments and walk-ins. They really care about what they are doing. I'm a guy, so maybe my review doesn't carry as much weight as a woman's would, but i was treated excellently. I also exported my Pedicure and back massage immensely. Attentive staff and care in what they do. I don't see anything wrong with this spot. Will be coming back again. read more

Singlehandedly to worst salon I've been too. I went to get a powder gel manicure because I wanted it to last. I paid $47 just for my manicure to start falling off after one week. I went back to take off my powder gel manicure and in the process got cut by the manicurist. "I'm sorry" was all she said. Very lovely place! Made an appointment for a pedicure and was delighted they do the spa pedicures. I did the lavender and mint package. The reason they do not get 5 stars is b/c she did ask if I wanted the callus remover. I didn't know I'd be charged $10 for a service is usually included with spa pedi at most businesses or $5 if done with a plain pedicure. I'm at fault for not asking but next time I will decline. Other than that, the service is wonderful and very sanitary. They have plastic drapes in between each chair and also in front of you and your pedicurest. They take your temperature, ask you to sanitize your hands and they spray the bottom of your shoes with alcohol. Included with a spa pedicure, they also do 10min back / chair massage. She was very accommodating as I had lumbar spine surgery so she did a neck and shoulder massage which felt heavenly. I will definitely be back. read more

First time getting my nails done since the pandemic. This salon is large, airy and modern. The environment is very tranquil and spa-like. Upon my arrival I was offered hand sanitizer and had my shoes disinfected. All of the technicians were masked and customers are protected by plastic partitions installed at the manicure tables and pedicure stations.
