I really wish this experience would have went better as this is the closest place to me but safe to say I will never be back. I paid $50 for them to not really scrub my feet or clean cuticles. I had to constantly check my own feet and ask for things to be redone to be smooth. They're able to paint nails but can't really make a French line in 2023. I had to ask the French line to be redone about 3x because they were either squiggly, slanted and thicknesses didn't match. They kept going thicker and thicker to redo the line. Two different people had to get this result and as you can see it's still not the cleanest. I was disappointed to have chosen the more expensive pedicure and it not be worth it so maybe just keep it as simple as possible if you do decide to patron. I will say the staff is kind but I didn't like that they automatically give themselves a tip when you pay with card! read more

Ok so let me start off by saying I am pretty picky about my nail salons. And this place isn't as bad as what people make it out to be. So let me start- they do gel manicures at 25 dollars. Had to be the fastest and well done I've had in awhile. Then I had a spa pedicure with Annie. That was 30 with whatever fancy stuff they put into the water as well as a 10 minute massage. Typically pedicure is 18-20. No the less I was happy and they were nice. Annie did some work on that massage so that was awesome. I will be back in 2 weeks for sure. I have tried this place a few times hoping the outcome would change but it did not. If you want a sloppy fast manicure and pedicure this is the place to go. Throughout the whole time there every time I go they always try to get you to upgrade to a more expensive treatment or add on unnecessary things. When I say no they still keep on "yes it's good do it" and I have to constantly say no thank you so they stop trying to get me to add on more things. 2 minute sloppy manicures and 5 minute sloppy pedicures. They do not even clean around the edges unless you show them. Will not be coming back here again. read more

I have been coming here for years because I live down the street - so it is very convenient for me. I have mixed feelings about this place overall, but can tell you that for the price you get what you get. I have definitely been to better salons - but they charge over $40 for tips. VIP charges $25 and that's why I keep coming. Also on Mondays and Wednesdays they do $20 mani and pedis. The people here are friendly to me - except the new guy. Not only does he not know how to do nails - but he is extremely rude. He kept rushing me out of the salon when I wanted to make sure my nails were dry because it was raining out. He also insisted that I paid at the end (when I usually pay when before they start coloring) and then went NUTS for the money. Acting as if I wasn't going to pay. (Yet he didn't know I was a regular there and usually leave really good tips - but not for him.) I had to actually tell him off in the salon - and customers were so disgusted with his behavior that two people actually left that were waiting. They can get really busy - so if you come go in the morning if possible. Mary and Jen are the best! They are so sweet and experienced. They form a bond with their customers. Another girl is good also but I can't remember her name - she is younger though. From now on, I always will wait for one of them. The people in the reviews probably go to the newer employees who are still figuring stuff out, no need to be completely rude and belittle their efforts; they're coming from another country and learning a trade to make a living. Wasted $45 on an awful manicure. Went in for a gel manicure but the owner convinced me to get the poly (not sure if that's the correct term) gel since it lasts longer because of the filling. It looked awful! I looked clunky, like I stuck play doh on my nails. I complained about it at the time i got it but the owner insisted it looked nice. It was late so I went home but had to return a few days later to take it off. Aside from the clunky look, It also wasn't completely filled in, so every time I use lotion, it'll get stuck in the sides which I can't clean because the nails are too thick. I have a great nail spot in the Bronx but I've lived in Yonkers for 2 years. I need a spot her in Yonkers. The 1st time I came to this nail salon the man that did my nails did a bad job but the color lasted so I returned on my birthday. When the lady finished with my nails the sides weren't painted, the corners or my nails were sharp as daggers and the color started peeling later on that day. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about. Yes it's not super fancy, the equipment is a little bit older and it's not as upscale as some other salons but tons of new colors, the equipment is immaculate and everybody is good natured, polite and so friendly. They do an unbelievable job with eyebrows and their manicures last longer than they should for the money. Speaking of money, they are incredibly reasonable for the service they provide. I have been going to VIP Nails on and off for about 2 1/2 years. I mainly go because it's very convenient for me. There have been multiple times where I have gotten there when they should be opened and they aren't. They are always late!! Once I waited 30 minutes!! I understand that they come from Queens, but come on. There have also been a couple of times where when they finally decide to show up, a few of us waiting walk in and they didn't take everyone in the order they came. I used to go to this place a lot since it was a conveniency of being right beside my house. They were always very nice and did a great job, but I decided to go to Ocean Q Nails for a few months in Central Ave. I decided to come back for an acrylic soak off and gel manicure because it was cheaper. I arrived 2 hours before closing time + appointment and the woman with short hair told me she won't do the soak off because it "would damage my nails." I've had a soak off before and wanted the acrylic completely off because I was tired of going to the salon every 2 weeks. She said she was helping me but really I was just helping her because that means I would have to constantly visit her and the soak off would take some time. She cut my real nails & acrylics without even filing them! My nails are so thick that not even filing them at home worked! She then messed up nails in the UV light and didn't bother to fix it. She also had a very bad attitude. I don't know if there's new management but I'm guessing there is because they're not as nice as they used to be nor good at their nail technique. Came here for a full set, the lady gave me two coats of acrylic my nails looked terrible. They looked like a mountain on top my finger. Only good for basic manicure/pedicure. I've gotten my nails done here sporadically for many years, so I was disappointed by the experience I had today trying to do gel powder. The lady cut five of my fingers, the gel powder was applied unevenly, the top coat was rough and ugly (not shiny or even matte). She tried to fix them several times and it just wasn't happening. I asked for them to just remove it, offering to pay whatever fee to just have a simple manicure instead. Finally, one of the ladies, who seems to be in charge, fixed it for me. I asked why it couldn't have been fixed a while ago? Right now they are just okay, but better than what the original lady I was with did. Then I had someone else do my pedicure. These people are money hungry. After my experience with the nails I just wanted a simple pedicure. The lady kept insisting on extra things and kindly I'd said no, however she still persisted. It was annoying. They probably hate me now since I gave a horrible tip, but I'm never going back. Don't go here! I used to go here a few years ago because the prices were fair. I used to give a very healthy tip each time I went I would get a pedicure, nail fill in and eyebrow waxing. The owner is very nice but the girls there do not speak English and do anything they want despite you telling them because of the language barrier. One day I was drying my nails for a long time but they never completely dried because of too many coats the girl put on and by accident I messed one up. The girl told me she didn't have time to fix it and "waved" me off!! She told me to come back another time!! Some nerve!!!! I was highly offended and never returned. Nonetheless a few years later out of desperation and time I decided to give the salon another whack. I went there again about 4-5 times only to have the same thing happen over and over again broken thumb nail each time having to pay an extra $3. In addition I was pressured into the gel manicure with each visit which I had tried before and did not like. I was also heavily pressured into doing a spa green tea pedicure which turned out to be bullshit not much different from regular pedicure and was rather rushed. On my last visit two nails broke within one day after getting them done and I was on vacation out of country. How embarrassing to go all week with broken nails!!! I'll never return. This place sucks in plain English. They use inferior products offer cheap services and gave dirty pedicure tubs. The parking in terrible and service half assed. Save your hard earned money and avoid aggravation! Thanks to them I have no nails now! I decided to rest my fingers and let my own nails grow. I was forced to take them all off myself. Made a yelp specifically just to review this place. I used to be a very very loyal costumer about 2 years ago. The girl who I used to go to for about a year straight had a baby so she stopped working. Since her departure, I have noticed the employees here constantly and consistently change every few months. I have never left this place happy and still due to it's close proximity to me for some reason keep coming back. Each visit gets progressively worse and after my last one I will absolutely not return. Three different girls did my manicure and pedicure each working on me for about 20 minutes. Neither of them knew anything about what they were doing. When I expressed what was making me so obviously unsatisfied they simply brushed me off and laughed or told me "later later". The lady who initially started my pedicure made ridiculous comments that I did not think were funny, cute, or professional. I left with out even getting my nails done. Just my old polish taken off and my nails all filed down as short as possible, yet I told the girl THREE times to stop filing. She did not listen until I literally pulled my hand from her and said "NO more. I am done, stop." I hate to put a damper on the revenue of any small business but this was the last of many many straws. read more
