**Review:** I've been searching for a good place to get my nails done, but I definitely don't recommend this one. They charged me $80 for a basic pedicure, which seems ridiculous. On top of that, my toenails look like candy because they rushed the job to catch the next customer and focused to details. It was clear they didn't care about providing good service. Ok. I have a love/hate when it comes to nail salons. It really seems impossible right now to find a five star consisted place. Now although I did enjoy my pedicure, I didn't enjoy the pain that I felt later and realized that she had cut my nail down to far. I'm not the one to complain much because I know people make mistakes, but this one I have mix feelings about. So lets break it down. Everyone, (YES) is very nice and welcoming, and (YES) its a pretty much clean environment. The wait wasn't long either. So I asked about a gel manicure and a pedicure, decided to go with an upgrade and get myself a Crystal Jelly pedicure because I normally don't like to get pedicures because I'm really good at doing my own, but my husband told me to treat myself to one every now and again because this was a special occasion I was doing it for. So of course I checked out my Yelp page and asked a couple of my girlfriends and this was the place I choose. Now everything was going fine until she cut my toenails and I felt pain but not so much until after. I thought it was just a lil pinch. I did enjoy everything after that. When it came to the manicure I was charged five dollars extra supposedly because of the type of color I choose, no biggie to me, this was a special treat. Now before I left my toenails was wrapped in plastic wrap and then my sneakers were put back on, I paid and went home. Then my toe was really hurting and I looked, and boy I was upset, not only did she really injured me, but my polish was ruined too. I went back the next day to tell the guy that she cut my toe and that my polish was ruined, he said they would fix it, but I would have to wait, but I couldn't wait because I had things to do, pick up my kids, get ready for my event etc. I just couldn't wait anymore. Then I was annoyed to find out that she could of just gave me the slippers most salons give you but here you have to ask and they charge you two dollars. If I was told that from the beginning my toes would of have dried and yes my toe would still be in pain but I maybe would have gotten over that. So,I had to fix my own toes, deal with the pain for a couple of days and then my gel manicure started to mess up after the fourth day. I don't think that is supposed to happen so early with gels. So although I enjoyed the foot bath and massage, I don't think $70 was worth it all, so I won't be back. read more

The only thing lucky about this salon is finding it when my regular go to place was packed! Yes, the people who work here are very nice as others reviewers pointed out. However, do you want to be greeted and smiled at over and over again, or do you want your nails done correctly? I'd prefer the latter. My pedicure was not bad, what I didn't appreciate was my technician barely cutting my cuticles even though they were jagged and gross and in obvious need of grooming. I had to literally point out to her each and every finger with jagged cuticles, and she still did a terrible job. Moving on to the polish, I swear it was painful watching her miss the sides of my nails when applying the nail polish. And she had the audacity to get annoyed at me when I pointed it out, saying "it's only first coat". This is my third time leaving a review here. I have moved out of the area and have since been going to Dashing Diva on Columbus because my daughter goes to dance down there. While I wait, I go get my nails done. So I have obviously compared services and prices. For me, the more I do gel manicures, the less they last. My nails have grown so weak, and have wondered if it is because of all the gel manicuring I have done. So cue my most recent visit with Lucky Nails. For my pedicures I always go to Lin or Amy. NO ONE ELSE. I have never had an issue with them. I get pedicures regularly so my pedis are pretty simple. I did not get a gel manicure this time. I wanted to get acrylic because my nails were so weak and wanted longer lasting polish. The manager (first station) and the lady next to him are the only ones I see that do acrylic. I sat with the manager. He convinced me to not do acrylics and to instead do NexGen, a powder gel. I am so new to the whole dipping your finger in powder and you then have polish process. He literally put my tips, shaped them then started polishing, dipping, polishing, dipping, then shaping like he would acrylic. After one final top coat I was done. No harsh odors, no washing of the hands. I was done. He said my nails can last up to 3 weeks, maybe more. I just got them done, so I cannot say for certain yet, but it has been 4 days and have not chipped or peeled the polish and my nails look so smooth and sleek, not bulky like the acrylic. I did go early in the morning with my daughter on a Sunday and was taken care of shortly after arriving. They were already with clients. Again, they accept cards but will charge you tax and there is no option for tips, you'd have to add that to the total. Just pay cash, it's cheaper. So somehow I missed this nail salon in my neighborhood and apparently has been there/here a while and I guess is under new management per previous reviews it seems. My initial experience is they looked newly renovated and under staffed yet managing. There was a bit of a wait so I need to figure out the sweet spot of when is a good time for non peak hrs, but otherwise the staff is pleasant and professional. Standard services and reasonably priced for the area. My overall beauty experience and outcome has been great. My measure will be if they are consistent in services and outcomes. But thus far they have my business and have a local nail salon so far that I have confidence in which I had lost in my old spot. I am glad to have local options when one's beauty regiment is super important. read more

I never went here while under their previous management because the place looked ratty! But I saw the review from July that it was under new management, so I took a walk from home down 231st and walked in. It looked so clean and new and was happy walking out with my fresh new nails. I've been a loyal customer since July, I started with acrylic but the manager convinced me to do the gel powder. I did it in the past at other salons and hated it, didn't last a week...but they do a fantastic job, the stay flawless for up to 3 weeks and the only reason I get them freshened up is because of the growth. Everyone there is pleasant, and the place is becoming more and more busy. Hopefully they will expand their staff so that there is no long wait times...last time I was in there 2+ hours on a Sunday afternoon, but they did a fantastic job. Okay so the first time I went it was Sept. 13 it is now November 2. So far I've gone every 3 weeks since that's how long the powder gel lasts on me. These are my pics from all 3 times. I am in love & I can't believe these are my actual nails. The customer service is great, I like to do them with the guy I feel like he has a magic touch but I've also done it with the lady who sits next to him and she's good as well. I wanted to like this place, I really did. The reviews were good, people were speaking highly and I made the choice to come here. My sister and I arrived around 11:40 for manicures and pedicures, we waited and understood it was a busy Saturday noon. However, the logistics of how this place is ran completely goes against as to how all OTHER nail salons are ran. You come in, you wait and you are seated to get your pedicure, however, if you are getting a manicure you have to wait UNTIL one of the "nail techs" is ready to see you. Therefore, you'll finish your pedicure and will have to wait 20-40 minutes additionally in order for someone to do your nails. If someone from outside comes in, they'll seat them first. And if someone comes for a pedicure, they'll also be seen. It is now, two hours later and I have YET to see someone for nails and doubt I'll stay any longer. Logistically this makes no sense and I really hope the owner is able to change the way this is. The work in itself is good but with such high competition in the area, this is completely intolerable and unacceptable. Have your nail techs do both and not just one focus. read more

So I used to be a regular here and now I am moving so I went one last time and wow. GOOD RIDDANCE!! I only started coming here because it's cheap for NYC and they "do nails well". I always had to block about 4 hours of time if I wanted to come here because they are very slow and always busy. This trip I wanted to be in the first seat so I got there 10 minutes before they opened. THEY WERE 20 MINUTES LATE. So unprofessional. Then once I was getting manicure, the male (who I assume is also the owner and typically does the gel powder nails the best) half assed my service and just told me to wash my hands and threw me a towel. No lotion, no massage. That part of the manicure is what I am used to and what I expect. Then when it was time to pay, he claimed my tip was too small and he was upset that I tipped the lady who did my pedicure and not him. If I wasn't moving I'd never come back. If you were to ask me what I thought of them weeks ago I would've said at least a 4. Customer service keeps customers. You deserve better. Go somewhere else. read more

This place gets 5* for a nail salon in the Bronx. Compared to all the other ones I've been to, this one is clean, and ACTUALLY DOES A PEDICURE MASSAGE. I moved here from Long Island, I'm so confused why nobody in the Bronx does the massage with cream on your legs right before they paint your nails during the pedicure. It's my favorite part and I'm sure I'm not alone. Once I was all finished the woman massaged my back for like 2 minutes which was amazing I never wanted it to end. (In a friendly way of course) when my nails were done they looked so bad and they were totally uneven. I had to direct him the whole time of doing my nails and even when I tried to give him super detailed instructions it was like it went in one ear and right out the other. Horrible service, horrible customer service & very unsanitary. About 3 people do your nails at once & they are very rough, I have cuts around all my nails. You say something & they don't care. They did such a horrible job on my nails. After doing Gel color (which is more money) they came out 2 days later. Gel color is long lasting supposedly. Went back & explained to them, they did not listen, spoke over me & fixed it without wanting to. Also wanted to charge me more money too. While doing my nails the guy was so rough & did such a horrible job the second time around. Will never go back there.
