Not a great experience. My esthetician started off by taking a picture of my face to ask her boss which facial to do. Didn't examine my face or discuss which facial was most appropriate/ better for my skin. I wanted the dark spot facial bc I do have discoloration but now I am thinking that wasn't a good choice. I left with no after care instructions or recommendations to come back nothing. It was just procedure done and bye. So now my face is red and peeling. There some pimples she popped that are looking like are going to leave a mark. Not satisfied. read more

I was excited to try this spot out being that it is in my neighborhood and the price was reasonable however, I will not be returning. I got a Brazilian wax which I normally get at my usual place so I have something to compare it to. For starters, she did not prep my skin, she just threw the wax right on. The wax was way too hot which actually caused me to flinch in which she apologized for but continued to put the very hot wax on my skin. This wax took 30 minutes which again, at my usual place would take no more than 15. If anyone has gotten waxed before, then you know you want to get it over with as quickly as possible and this was for from quick. Between the time it took to complete the service to getting burned with wax to the point where it burns while using the bathroom after, as well as other things that I don't think I need to explain, this experience was not pleasant and I hope they do better for their future clients. Update: I left a tip because the woman who serviced me was pregnant and had to stop to take a rest because it was clear that her back was in pain. I was raised well and felt for the lady and for that reason alone I still left a tip. However, that does not take away from the fact that I was and still am displeased with the service I received. Also, having different wax does not mean it has to burn the client. The owners response just furthered proved my reasoning as to why I will not be coming back to this place. read more

I had a horrible experience. I paid for a facial and the entire time I'm laying there I just hear women gossiping loudly outside my door which was very disturbing while I'm trying to relax. The lady who's doing my facials phone kept ringing. So she begins to tell me I need a hydrating facial, she starts applying these acidic creams that we're burning my face & without any vapor treatment or heat she began trynna remove my nose blackheads with her hands as they kept slipping it felt like I was being punched in the face. After the facial I get up to get my teeth whitening. The lady applies the gel on my teeth and leaves me there with the UV light on one side of my face instead of facing my teeth ! She comes nearly 20 mins later to tell me to move my head to the side because that's the only way it will work. After the 20 mins she applies the blue cooling gel. After a while they come to get me to tell me that I've been done a long time ago. I asked how if my teeth look the same and it was a only a 20 min session ?? and she explained to me that my session was over. I asked why if my friend got a 40 min teeth whitening session before me, she continued to explained that it depends on our teeth. So I ask if I still have to pay $100 like my friend even though she received a longer session and my teeth look the same & she just walked away. Even after I explained to them how I felt nothing was done to comfort me, I was never even offered a glass of water to say the least. I was very displeased because I've seen so many women promoting this spa and it's such false advertisement I was very upset !!! read more

I made an appt online. I booked an hour long full body massage. When I arrived the door was locked & no one was in the front area. By the time they saw me and let me in it was a few minutes past my appt start time. The girl at the front desk asked for my name at least 3x & could not find me in the system. I showed my confirmation email & she went to get help from someone. They eventually found my appt but did not seem to have been expecting me. It's worth noting I made my appt for 5 & they close at 6 so I was likely the last appt for the day. 2 girls finished their appts, paid, & left while I stood by the counter. By the time I was finally brought back it was 20 minutes after my appt start time. The room had no music playing, no hook to hang my dress, & the small bench to put my stuff on also had the masseuse's belongings. My masseuse only spoke Spanish & I only speak English so we had the front desk girl translate for us. I said I was having some back pain & showed where. I said I wanted a full body massage but do not touch my feet. The table was not a regular massage table. There was no hole at the top for the face & the massage started with me on my back. There was a heat pad under my back & a pillow. She started with a scalp, neck, & shoulder massage that felt good. It was the best part of the massage & it was only the first couple minutes. She then went down & started using a roller on my feet, talking to me in Spanish. I told her I didn't understand so she left to get a translator to tell me that she was going to do foot reflexology for free to help my back pain. The roller was not comfortable, she pressed too hard, but only did it for a couple minutes. She then did my legs, stomach, armpits, & arms. Then she had me roll over on my stomach using what was essentially a neck pillow to place my face into. I really wished they had regular massage tables with the hole at the top for your face. She did my back briefly but completely ignored focusing on where I showed her needed attention & used a vibrating tool way too hard. I feel like my back is bruised from that tool. Then she did my legs again & that was it. She also left in the middle of the massage to get hot stones for my back, but she was gone for the same amount of time she spent on my back which was the area I said needed the most attention. I'm also not sure what she used on my back but it felt like icy hot. My back was on fire while she worked on my legs but nothing was on it except the sheet. When it was over I wiped off whatever it was on the sheet & immediately felt relief. The massage finished promptly at 6 so in total it lasted for maybe 30 minutes when it was supposed to be an hour. The massage was choppy (literally & figuratively), had no rhyme, reason, or flow, and was the worst massage I've ever had. I'm not a confrontational person & didn't know how to say anything while there (plus I couldn't really say anything during the massage due to the language barrier). When I went to pay a different girl was at the desk. She asked if it was an hour or a half hour & I said it was supposed to be an hour full body but started very late. She charged me for a half hour deep tissue (which is more expensive than a half hour regular massage, and this was definitely not deep tissue). I was overcharged. The masseuse came out right after I signed (they're cashless right now) & I did understand when the girl told her how much she charged me ($50/Cincuenta) so clearly she asked in front of me knowing damn well I didn't get what I came for. I had already tipped 15% & it was visible on the screen. No goodbye, no thank you, nothing from either of them. I stood there and was like "is that it? Am I good to go?" The girl at the desk said yes so I left. I will not be returning for any services. They also sell Monat (it's in a display case at the front) which is just odd since Monat is an MLM (aka pyramid scheme) company & not something you'd see in any reputable hair salon. read more

I recently started laser hair removal at Narcisses Spa. I have pretty thick stubborn hair and I am extremely happy with the results after just two sessions. I previously went to a high end med-spa for laser hair removal and it wasn't working. I also received reflexology for the first time today. The lady was very intuitive and was spot on about all the issues I was experiencing. It was a bit uncomfortable during the session but after, I felt so much better. Wow!!!! I love getting my lymphatic drainage massage here! Ingrid is amazing!!! I love how careful and attentive she is!! And the price is not bad it's very reasonable. The Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body. Loved the nice clean and stylish place and I'm pretty sure they have much better services but today this one lady who did my pedicure was unfriendly, heavy handed and rough. I didn't like the energy she was giving off and I definitely didn't feel comfortable. There was even a point I had to tell her to be gentler because she was cutting my cuticles way too harshly. So I went there for a facial (pre-wedding). Most of the staff seem nice and friendly, however the lady who did my facial seemed to be given instructions on the day of. It was my first time ever getting a facial, but I have an idea of what it consisted of, lemme just say clean water is a key element. She kept putting on these creams, and extracting all while using the same water in a tin bowl and a bounty napkin to wipe off my face - the bounty paper towel was being reused and dipped in the tin bowl over n over. Never once ddI I hear any running water OR did she pour any clean water in the bowl OR use steam to open my open, OR change the water she was using. I kept trying to lift my head to look but she kept telling me to relax. I will NEVER go back for a facial, however I would ONLY go back for the Sesderma products they sell which are amazing! read more

I'm sorry but all I can say is never again!! I arrive 5mins early for my app, I am barley greeted told they are not ready and a chair was pointed at! I'm left waiting 15mins with no commutation in a low uncomfortable chair (not ideal 9months pregnant) Next thing I notice I'm being gestured to follow by a lady in jean shorts and a T shirt waving at me! No hello, how are you my name is...nothing! Radio silence! She disappears down the hallway and into a room...this whale of a momma to be is a bit of a slow mo and doesn't see which room she entered, I have a peek in each room as I pass till I find her in a tiny, messy (not relaxing by any means) room Now we get to the interesting part, she speaks not one word of English...and I have zero Spanish (which she seams offended by..hey I'm Irish what do you expect!!!) She calls the front desk lady in to help..basically she wanted me to get undressed as she stood there watching me! I asked could I do this alone, that I would lay on the bed and place the sheet on myself and then she could return (I don't even get undressed in front of my husband anymore never mind a stranger) they seem put out by this simple request but allow it!! I get undressed and lay down on what turns out to be a rock for a bed, I grab the "sheet" (an ikea wool-like blanket that doesn't even cover my whole pregnant body) (oh and I'm allergic to wool) 5mins later she returns! I'm cold, VERY uncomfortable laying on this rock and really holding back the hormonal crying as I'm very upset about how this is going but I try tell myself just relax and give it a go!! I'll wrap this up quick as the rest is pretty simple, the massage it's self was not the worst, I think just a bit more knowledge would of been a help..you would think a prenatal masseuse would be specially trained to treat pregnant women, in that training I would guess they would have told if you pull at their feet to straighten their leg and they resist twice, maybe it is painful or uncomfortable for them!!! Also with swelling circulation can be bad so be aware they may be cold...my feet were like ice my legs and back too(all my blood is in my tummy) maybe they should be told not to perform massage with freezing cold hands them selves...maybe invest in warming oils?? Is that too much to ask? Like I said the actual massage was not the worst, nothing special nothing terrible...just every other element killed it for me, I left feeling worse than before I got there, I'm sitting in my car writing this now and I basically limped my way here as that stone bed they had me lay on hurt my back! Just what I need at 39weeks more back problems!!! In all, no I'll never return, I'll never recommend! I left unhappy, in pain and a little deflated/depressed as I was looking forward to this for 8months!!! read more

Very unprofessional, I could not relax during the facial process. The lady begins to tell me that I need a moisturizing facial, she begins to apply these acidic creams that are burning my face and without any steam or heat treatment, she began trying to remove the pimples from my nose with my hands. I talked to the girl and asked if the cream was supposed to feel your face burn and she said "yes." when my facial ended my face was so inflamed that it scared me. I live in yeh area and I'm always looking for hidden gems - this was not exactly a hidden gem. The owner Jaru greets you at the entrance with a smile - but her next words were "oh you're early - the room isn't even ready!" I knew I was early but any decent spa should offer a basic comfortable waiting area and refreshments. I came here to relax but felt like I was stressing them out. I'm going to skip straight to the facial itself because I want to make sure it's not looked over by readers. The water was cold, the owner (who did the facial) kept interrupting the session by addressing outside issues and the products smelled. To make it even worse - i wasn't asked anything about my expectations or requirements and when I went out of my way to tell her I'm allergic to one of the key ingredients in most anti acne creams - the owner replied "we use high quality products" signifying to me that she had no idea what she was talking about. When my skin started to feel like it was on fire - we figured out that the ingredient was in the mask she put on my face. Completely clueless. The owner herself seems kind - but has no concept of what a spa should look like and act like. That said, her extractions were thorough - despite the fact that she did not use vapor to open my pores which made the whole ordeal extremely painful (and I have high pain tolerance). For that she gets two stars. I would not recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable and professional experience. You won't see me back here again read more

I came here for the first time for a mani-pedi and left very disappointed. First off, everything just seemed really unclean and unsanitary. The bucket thing for soaking my feet had dirt in it despite what seemed like the stylist's attempt to clean it. Then, they used dish soap (literally orange soap in a bottle branded with "Nice! Dish Detergent) to soak my feet. When I raised concerns they said it was a special soap, and they were just reusing the bottle. The third and final straw was when my manicurist cut me, leaving my toe bloody. This has never happened to me in all my years of getting pedicures but her colleague tried to explain it away by saying this isn't unusual. At that point I finally knew I needed to leave. I paid, so that everyone would be clear that my complaints were not due to any desire to rip off this place, and then I left. I'm never going back and unfortunately can not recommend that anyone ever get a mani-pedi here. read more

I usually get my haircuts in the manhattan, but today was my day off work and I decided to stay local. This spot was not too far from my house and I stumbled upon this place. I figured I give it a try. All I needed was just a simple layered cut, shampoo, and blow dry. When I walked in I saw 3 ladies talking. I said 'Hi' and stated I want a haircut. The lady at the front desk looked at me like I interrupted her conversation, but then points to the hairdresser saying "that's her if you want a haircut" I'm like ok. So she leads me all the way to the back. I told her that I wanted to get my hair washed too. So she leads me down the basement and proceeds to wash my hair. Meanwhile, as I'm sitting in chair getting my hair cut she kept talking to 2 other ladies again. I understand sometimes you need to talk, but she stopped halfway while cutting and drying my hair. Can you say lack of multi-tasking? I guess it was my fault for not asking how much the pricing was prior, but considering that I usually pay $35-$40 a haircut, wash, and dry it would be around the same ballpark. She just wrote the price of $50 on a piece of paper to hand to the receptionist. Overall, I was happy with the layered cut but it would be nice if they would state the prices somewhere in the salon or let you know the cost of the services. Nobody likes to be surprised with exorbitant prices. read more

Let me start this review by saying that I've been Narcisses Spa's client before it was Narcisses Spa. I know Charo (owner/ founder who I also like to think as my friend) for 6+ years now. Ever since I have Charo in charge of my skin care, it basically helped the aging process to...stop a little. I am 34 and people often think I am still 28. Charo truly understands the skin condition of her clients by touching it. She knows what the best treatments are for each targeted concern: acne, anti-aging, uneven skin tone, etc. In addition, she is engaging, really likes what she does and is so lovely to be around her. There is nobody like Charo when it comes to skin care, facials and peelings. I can't say I tried many, in reality I haven't had the need to try anyone after knowing Charo.
