Had an early morning appointment which was honored , timely and 2 weeks later gel x nails and gel pedi still look great!!

You'd never guess what was waiting inside this little shop tucked into a building -- but GPS led me right to the door. The space is adorable, and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly and my appointment was confirmed. I was there for a gel pedicure, and even though I arrived 15 minutes early, she got me started right away -- no waiting! She offered me water, made sure I was comfortable, and was incredibly attentive throughout. But here's the part that really impressed me: I've had a splinter lodged in the side of my toe for what felt like forever -- through several pedicures at other places, no one ever took care of it. She noticed it, carefully removed it, and honestly, it felt like she worked a little miracle on my foot. I left feeling pampered, polished, and actually fixed -- not just painted over. Highly recommend checking her out if you're looking for great service and real attention to detail! Just ignore my terrible tan lines, the toes looked great. read more

I booked with the business for the first time for a gel manicure (French tip) & 60 minute spa pedicure with Viktoriya. She was so sweet and had a calming energy to her! I loved how my nails had an iridescent color that could be seen in direct sunlight & the thickness of the French tip was perfect. We were the only people in the shop so it was really quiet & peaceful. I got my nails on 10/27/23 and by 11/1/23 I had a major chip to one of my nails. Unfortunately, I was already in Texas by the time the chip happened so there was nothing I could do. I do work with my hands, but my gel manicures normally last longer so I'm either gonna try again with her or try another technician. read more

I had my pedicure done by her and I loved it! But when it came to my manicure it all went downhill, I asked her to please drill off my gel polish off and she said that she would put them in acetone instead. I asked her again if she could please drill them cause I knew it was going to hurt and she told me she didn't have a drill. So she proceeded to use the acetone and clip off my gel. She could had avoided all this by putting cotton, acetone & aluminum like other nail salons do since the pedicure, by the time she would had started with my manicure the gel would had been soften enough. Or she could had just rejected the manicure cause she didn't have the proper tool to take off my gel polish. My finger nails hurt so much and my nails looked awful and chipped by the 3rd day. The only thing I wanted was a refund for my manicure, cause she didn't even paint them good. Also I got them done on the 22th and by the 24th by nails were still hurting. You receive a true VIP experience when you visit VIP Nail Salon. Be sure to leave for your appointment really early -parking may be a pain as it is located in downtown Norfolk after all. If you are looking for a relaxing experience this is the place for you. I heard this place is great with working with natural nails and they didn't disappoint. I also love that you can book with them online which is rare when it comes to nail shops I've came across. You are serviced in your own area away from other guests so its just you and your technician, unless you request to book with another guests. So you can chat or just relax as much as you want. Your service is catered to you! Tiffani was wonderful. She shaped and colored my nails exactly how I wanted for the winter and I can already tell this set will last me a while. Most AMAZING nail experience! This is definitely my new nail spot that I will be coming back to regularly from now on. Viktoriya managed to squeeze me in same day, and she was SO nice! When I arrived for my appointment she offered me sparkling water and let me take my time to choose my color. Usually at bigger salons I'm bothered by the nail ladies every 5 minutes from the moment I walk in when I'm trying to choose my color & it is so annoying. Plus she had a lot of nice colors! The nail salon itself is very clean, quiet, quaint, and peaceful! My appointment was so relaxing with the calming music, and I loved how it was just me and Viktoriya in the room because I'm used to a loud, busy, crowded nail salon. She was so attentive with my nails, taking the time and paying attention to detail to making sure they were perfect! Usually at bigger salons they make lots of small but noticeable mistakes with my nails because they are just trying to get me in and out and on to the next customer as quickly as possible. I was so happy with the turn out, & it was only $45+tip! Some would say this is a little pricey for gel nails, but with such a relaxing nail experience and amazing service, she definitely deserved it. I have had my nails for one week now & there is no chipping whatsoever. She told me they would last anywhere from 3-4 weeks depending on how your nails grow, so I can't wait to come back! This was truly a great experience, I am never going to one of those loud, busy, crowded, dirty nail salons again. You get what you pay for. read more

Also, they don't offer Dip Powder nails, ladies the year is almost 2023, please come around with the times. Also, they only offer acrylic fill, not full set? That doesn't even make sense. I'm not sure how the stars aligned with finding this place, but it was perfect: I was in town for work, my best friend lives not far and a pedicure and dinner sounded like a fun way to catch up...the only problem was we didn't plan any of it. This is one of those "I can't believe I haven't written a review for here!" kind of places, for me. Viktoriya has restored my faith in manicures. *lol* She's so quick and meticulous; watching her do her thing is like watching art being made. There's an energy about her that really works, and an assuredness that seemingly comes from being experienced and damned good at her craft. She manages to have a gentle touch, while still being quick and thorough. The salon is large, as is the selection of colors. It's, also, immaculately kept. Use the restroom beforehand, or be prepared to walk across the building and up a flight of stairs to a small, dimly lit room containing an antiquated pair of stalls and busted-looking sink - ask Viktoriyafor the key, because the building keeps it locked. I'm not crazy about the bathroom, but that's not a reflection on VIP Nail Salon or Viktoriya. Based on the things she can control, VIP Nail Salon is a solid 5-star business. read more

I have been going to this nail salon while working out In Norfolk. I'm a travel nurse and always have to find quality salons is hard, however, this place is great. Tiffany is wonderful!!! and so is the new nail tech Nanae. The Tokyo soft gels keeps my nails strong and I can get a good solid 3 weeks. My nails tend to grow fast so I can't push it pass 3 weeks. I've had hundreds of manicures. This tech is the best one because of her technique. She was trained in Toyko so rather than using scissors, she used a fine tool to shape my nail bed. Today I did a 60-minute spa Pedicure with Kay. It was WONDERFUL! The pedicure was a full 60 minutes of great massage, paraffin wax treatment, cleansing scrub, and finally spot on nails. Kay is such a bubbly, beautiful spirit, who made me feel welcome from the moment we met. The private room was very clean and smelled SO good. I was able to relax and completely forget there was a busy world outside. I have lived in Downtown Norfolk for a year, walking by this place MANY time thinking "I should try them out". Pro: I LOVE VIP Nail Salon! I came to see Viktoriya twice so far, she has been wonderful. She is professional and detail oriented. She made my nails look amazing! In my opinion, finding a nail technician that speaks English is like finding a needle in a haystack. I appreciate that Viktoriya cares to be able to communicate with her clients during services. At the end of the service, she gives us a disposable fingernail file. Cons: Parking can be a hassle. You have to park in one of the buildings or McArthur mall's parking lot. So, make sure you arrive 20 minutes early to give yourself some time to find parking and walking. Either way, I wish I can afford to come every week! :) read more

The sole owner and operator is Viktoriya. She does not use electric tools. She does not do designs. She does not have the white French tip nails. But she can paint on the French tips. And she does do gel. I really liked being the only person in the shop. Nice relaxing music playing in the background while Viktoriya focused solely on your nails. I had old acrylic removed and new tips/acrylic applied. She did a great job getting the old acrylic off and putting the new ones on; no pain or discomfort (I get new acrylic 3-4 times a year and it's usually painful). Viktoriya used the perfect sized tips and was meticulous in applying the tips. She did a fantastic job with the shaping and thickness of the acrylic. I've had acrylic on my nails for almost 30 years and this was the first time it was applied without a drill. I liked it, it's easy on the cuticles and you get a better shape. It does take longer than a drill, but hand shaping is easier to control. I didn't get a pedicure, just a polish change on my feet, which she did very well. Oh, and the shop does not have bathroom facilities, you have to go out to the lobby and up a short flight of stairs. Not a big deal, just have to make sure you go before starting. read more

After searching for the perfect nail salon to pamper myself for a day I decided on VIP Nail Salon. I researched on Yelp obviously and this was the only one in the area with 5 stars. I was in Norfolk for 2 days and decided to spend a few hours getting a full set and a pedicure. I went in at 4pm and was done at 6pm. I got the long pedicure and a full gel set with polish. This was by far the best nail salon I have ever been to. Viktoriya does so many things differently than most nail salons and in my opinion much better. 1. She does not use those harsh tools used by every other nail tech to shave, file, and shape nails. She does all shaping with a nail file by hand. I dont know about you but this saves my nails and I didn't have to go home and take Tylenol to prevent the dreaded aching nails. It also saved getting several layers of nail unnecessarily taken off. 2. She uses a premixed gel bonding agent. I dont know about yall but I hate the normal smell of chain nail salons. Well here there is no nasty smell when getting gel nails. The premixed stuff actually smells good...a little like a subtle perfume. 3. She is so meticulous and detailed about the nails and toes she is doing. My nails and toes all matched and the time and attention given to each nail was amazing. She made sure every single toe and nail was filed and painted perfectly. 4. Yes this salon is by appointment only but you are the only client during your time. She works alone but that gives you the advantage of getting all the attention and detail you pay for. The appointment system was a breeze. I luckily got seen the same day....on a weekday night. By far the best nail salon I have ever been to. I can honestly say I probably will not go anywhere else again. Viktoriya is so sweet and friendly...she is willing to talk to you the whole time or let you relax while she works. Great person, great atmosphere, great price for the service. After being unhappy with a few nail salons in the Hampton Roads area, I was thrilled to find Viktoriya! I had several just "okay" shellac manicures and decided to make the drive to Norfolk since everyone was raving over her shellac skills. They were right... she is excellent! I booked a thirty minute pedicure and shellac manicure online, which was super easy to do (she uses Schedulicity). I had a bit of a time finding parking and then locating her salon space (lots of construction in the area), but thankfully after a call she pointed me in the right direction. The space was super comfortable and clean, and Viktoriya made me feel very relaxed from the moment I walked in. I actually enjoyed being the only one in the salon; it really does feel like a "VIP" experience. She was super meticulous and made sure the polish looked perfect. I was so happy with everything! I have been on the hunt for a QUALITY nail salon for some time. I called Vicktoriya on a Friday and managed to get a Saturday appointment which was great. Overall the experience was excellent. Not only did I leave satisfied (great shape, natural looking nails, not too thick, etc) but I was also impressed with the time spent in my services. I did not feel rushed and she also took the time to ensure I got what I wanted. The only downside is that she IS a little pricier than most salons but I'd gladly pay extra for the caliber of service.
