I don't think I can say enough good things about this place. To start Gary the owner came in an hour early just to take in my car to accommodate my schedule. They dealt with the insurance company for me so I didn't have to and he sent me a quick text message every step of the way just to keep me updated. When they weren't working on it they took the time to wash it outside and detail the inside. He even went with me to go get a rental car and take the rental car back so I didn't have to walk in the weather. All of the work didn't take very long either he got all the parts OEM and pretty much had the job all done within a couple weeks. read more

Read the 1 and 2 star reviews!! Save yourself the headache!! My son's truck was damaged in a rear-end collision and I found VIP Collision Center through Yelp. I mean, 4.5 stars, plus the convenience of messaging through Yelp, and the ability to send pictures of the damage for an estimate - I mean, c'mon, this is too good to be true! Well, it was too good to be true! I blame myself partly for a number of reasons. First, for being too lazy to get other estimates. Second, for not reading the 1 star reviews, because I think fellow yelper, Gene L, is onto something - he said his bullshit meter was pegged in the red zone. I wholeheartedly agree! First, I have to admit that the body repair work was good, with the exception of the paint being a shade off. Fortunately, my son didn't care and certainly didn't want to make an issue of it. He was just happy to finally get his truck back after more than two (2) months! Second, the customer service is atrocious. I dropped off the truck on 4/6, along with hard copies of VIP's estimate and the opposing auto insurance company's estimate. On the same date, I picked up a rental vehicle for my son to use while his truck was in the shop. Immediately after dropping off the vehicle, I received an email with that included a link for an electronic tracker of the repair work through carwise.com. I was ecstatic! I thought it was great that I'd be able to just check on the repair work without having to call the shop. Boy, was I wrong! Let's just say, that "meter" barely moved, even after they started the repair work, so it was NOT ACCURATE. In fact, the carwise tracker just showed that I picked up the truck a couple weeks ago, it is now July and the truck was picked up in May. One week later, on 4/13, I called VIP to ask about the timeline for the repair and there was no answer. Not only that, the voicemail box was full so I couldn't leave a voicemail! FIRST RED FLAG!! This happened numerous times!! When someone finally answered the phone, instead of answering my question, the initial response was "that repair work won't take a week." I explained that I knew it wouldn't take a week, that I was just calling to get an estimate as to how long it would take since I had to pay out of pocket for my rental and the insurance company was going to reimburse me; a female in the background said "Oh, we'll let the insurance company know." Then I was told that they ordered parts and the last part, the bumper, would be received the following week, so the work should be done the week after that. The repair work would not be done until 5/19, MORE THAN TWO MONTHS LATER. In those two months, VIP had not even contacted the other insurance company until WEEKS LATER, misplaced the hard copy of the insurance company's estimate, and kept putting off the completion date due to one thing or another. VIP also tried to put the blame on me for not making an appointment to drop off the vehicle, to which I responded, WHY did you accept it??!! There was no reasonable response to that. If I had known it would take TWO MONTHS to complete the repair, I would have taken the truck elsewhere. Yet, that wasn't relayed to me when I dropped off the truck. The icing on the cake was when I submitted my first rental invoice to the insurance company for reimbursement, the adjuster told me that VIP had NEVER CONTACTED THEM. Mind you, this was MORE THAN A MONTH AFTER I had dropped off the truck to VIP. Because of VIP's failure to initiate contact with the insurance company and ensuing refusal to provide pertinent information, my reimbursement was delayed by at least three (3) weeks! I had a great experience with the crew at VIP Collision. I was looking to get the rear end of my vehicle fixed. I had backed into a pole and shattered the glass out and dented my lift gate in. I shopped around a few places but I really like the vibe that Alfred and crew gave off. They combed over the damages and made me feel like they were gonna take care of my car as if it were one of their own cars. Travis was my main point of contact for my experience and he kept in great communication with me making sure I knew where they were with getting my car up and running. They encountered a small hiccup so I had to wait a couple extra days while they ordered a couple parts to make sure everything got fixed correctly. When I came to pick it up I realized that my latch sensor didn't want to go off. Travis got one of the shop guys to fiddle with it and could t get it to go off so they just ordered another latch setup and told me to swing by in the next couple of days and they would install it for me. All in all my car left here looking better than it did prior to the accident. They even detailed the inside, my car hasn't been this clean since I bought it! The staff is a good bunch of people and they were all friendly and courteous. Hopefully I won't need to get my car fixed up again but if I do Alfred and his team definitely will get my business again. read more

Had what was, in every way, an excellent experience with VIP Collision. Had to bring in a 2021 model year vehicle for some front end damage, and given modern vehicle front ends are packed full of sensors, radar, cameras, etc, it feels like even seemingly basic repairs cost an arm and a leg nowadays. With the first 2 quotes I got from shops in town, I was worried that'd be the case here also. Thankfully, VIP gave me a quote that was 1/3 of what the next cheapest estimate was, while still using OEM parts and being able to schedule me for just a few days after I first went in for the estimate (only real delay there was placing the order for the parts from the manufacturer and getting those in). While VIP originally suggested it could take the better part of a week for the work to be done, they had it ready by the next day and even got it detailed. My contact Gary dealt with our insurance company and kept us posted on progress. Another body shop made a big deal that the car was an electric Ionic 6 and would need post-repair calibration, but not V.I.P. They just included it in the estimate. First off this whole Yelp Review of this business pegs my bullshit meter in the red zone. First these ratings are either 5 star or 1 star. No 4,3, or 2. I've never seen any reviews like this for any business! So I am thinking most of these reviews are family, friends, or he offers rewards for 5 star reviews. Which is unethical! This Robert is a rip off artist. First he'll dazzle you with his crazy right wing conspiracy theories which any one with a cell phone can debunk in minutes. Obviously went to the Donny John Trump university of how to screw potential customers. We took our VW big to get it looked at. Cost 155. 00 to get a diagnostic evaluation. After a few days he said it would cost 3200.00. The Blue book is no more than 1300.00.so we decided to take it to a local Desert Rat mechanic with good reviews from other locals. He did something very simple. He by passed the fuel filter, and it started right up. We ended up having the local guy go through it thoroughly for less than 1/3 the 3200.00 projected cost of replacing a fuel injector pump. So to sum it up, buyer beware! This guy Robert tried to put all the blame on me for the work I did. I did not run a diagnostic. He did, & I honestly believe he did not do a diagnostic. He went with what I said I thought was wrong. He took a short cut and thought we'd go for it. My wife ended up getting half of our diagnostic fee back after confronting the owner. My husband was in an accident on September 11th, 2020. Within a couple of weeks, our car was dropped off at VIP Collision. We were called in January 2021 to pick the car up, only to find that they never replaced the back bumper, which was half of the claim. We were called again a few weeks later to come pick up the car. Upon arrival, we were told that the car wasn't ready after all, that the person applying the vinyl to the back bumper accidentally ripped the vinyl. We were called for the third time to pick the car up on March 5th, 2021. Upon arrival that day, it was discovered that they applied incorrect pieces of vinyl to the back bumper and trunk deck. My husband and I decided to take the car home while VIP orders the correct vinyl kit for our limited edition car. Their parking situation had already resulted in multiple new scratches and dents to our car. We live in Fallon, and I had to take three days off work in order to try and pick up my car. My husband works in Reno, so we made arrangements THREE times for me to take off work, spend the day in Reno and pick up the car after he got off work. Since we received our car back, we discovered that the viny company also CUT our trunk deck to remove the spoiler. At no time did either company contact the owners of the car to find out how to remove the spoiler that was installed WITHOUT cutting our trunk. We discovered the cuts on March 6th. Since then I have initiated almost all contact with VIP. The owner, Alfred Gill, last contacted me around a month ago to let me know that he was contacting the original vinyl kit manufacturer to attempt to have a couple of pieces specially made. Since then I have left messages and not gotten a single call back. LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR: IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE VIP FIRST HAD POSSESSION OF OUR CAR AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE CONTRACTED WORK! NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I have had the worst mechanic experience that I have ever had at this shop. To start out, the customer service is ATROCIOUS the people working the front desk are unreliable, unorganized, and unaware of what happens to the vehicles while being worked on. I was actually recommended this place by the tow company that towed my car after being in a hit and run. No matter who recommended this place, do not go here. I understand supply shortages and how that can affect how long it takes to complete repairs, however, "forgetting" to order the front bumper of my car, incorrect estimates of how long it will take to do repairs, and taking almost 2 months to repair simple damage is ridiculous. Besides that the most important part of this review is noting that the mechanics or other employees STOLE ALMOST EVERYTHING I HAD INSIDE MY CAR. Owners manual, tools, trash can, extra shift knobs, jewelry, etc. Everything was taken out of it the only thing left were empty coffee cups and snack wrappers from whoever was working on it. Also, I can understand mistakes happen, but while putting on my bumper they broke the bracket that holds the bumper on. They didn't even have the respect to put back on my front license plate or put the matching headlight onto the other side of the car. Just recently I took my car to a different mechanic for a flat tire and they informed me that the tire that VIP had put on my car was not the right tire and was VERY HARMFUL to have on my AWD vehicle. My daughter had her car towed here after a hit and run on the recommendation of the tow truck driver. WORST BODY SHOP EVER. I understand there are parts, shortages, and labor shortages, but their total lack of response to phone calls and voicemails was completely unprofessional and worrisome. At one point I had to call my daughter on the phone and have her walk the phone into the body shop so I could get ahold of somebody. They didn't order the parts when they said they would, they were not timely or efficient. When we finally did get the car back after three or four months, they had stolen her flat tire kit, her owners, manual, her jar of change, and all her extra shift knobs. Two weeks go by, and she gets a flat tire. She takes it to the tire shop, and they tell her that the body shop put the wrong tire on!!! No matter what you do, DO NOT bring your car here! read more

It started with an air dam coming lose and dragging along the road while still hanging onto my 2017 Toyota Camry. Other places left me in a waiting line for at least a week. I was concerned that continuing to drive it would cause further damage and probably result in higher costs. I was a walk-in. I called before but I got right in and it was fixed. Same day. It probably saved me money to get swift attention before losing the costly part in the roadway. And, it was an enormous relief. Then I asked about the black plastic piece below the rear bumper. I got a bid that seemed ok. I scheduled the appointment and paid for the parts + balance of the estimate. Today (August 21, 2024) I dropped my Camry off and had it back around noon. The work was excellent and they were a pleasure to work with. They even detailed the car. Fabulous! And they refunded some money because their estimate was a bit higher than the actual cost. I had been trying for ages to find a body shop in Reno that could fix the door of my Tacoma, which wasn't closing properly due to an unfortunate icy driveway incident. Everywhere I called or took it in for an appraisal either couldn't do it or had an insanely long wait, but these guys fit me in the day after and fixed it for way less than the other shops had quoted me in a few hours. They were also far friendlier than the other shops I visited, several of whose mechanics/ employees came off as very condescending. These folks were very nice, non judgmental, efficient and affordable. Very grateful! read more

What is best is all the other specialty vehicle shops in same area have all taken a pup each of wonderful Golden retrievers so making sure ALL needs are squared away by professionals in that specific field (body work, electronics, etc) they got us covered! My car git hit on an icy road, so I found this place on YELP with the highest ratings in Reno. I was told 1 to 1-1/2 weeks to repair. It ended up going on 3 months. I heard every excuse, mechanic quit, you're in line waiting, they sent the wrong parts, we can't locate the parts, we need to change to non insurance parts, the mechanics are sick, it's a holiday week, it's a holiday, we found more damage. Our receptionist had a personal emergency, our receptionist quit. We moved your car to another shop. Get this, they stopped answering my calls and let them roll to voicemail, I call from alternate number and their excuse is, the phone never rang. I've spoken to the manager several times and he's useless. He admits the company has problems and can do better, ya think???? Then on a Monday I ask for a call back at the end of the week on a Friday, two Fridays go by. No phone calls from Alfred the manager who PROMISED he would keep he timely updated. He does not return calls or messages. Neither does the front desk. I call front desk on auto dial with a new number, finely someone answers, and pretends like they are clueless. I ask to speak with Albert, he's not available so I threaten to come get my car as is. I listen to their scheming background conversation as they thought I hung up. Albert calls me 15 min later. He acts as if I'm a happy customer and forgot he was supposed to return my call 2 WEEKS prior AND I've called him several times a day every day since! WTF, and the car repairs are pushed back again. It's become plainly obvious that the BS that the receptionist spouts and the utter misinformation BS that Alfred feeds you to try and CALM a pisssssed off customer does not work. Then they overcharged me and give me 2 invoices. These guys are an absolute joke. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. You will terribly regret it. Albert verbally promised me $300 and $250 to apply towards the rental car. I've never seen it in the invoice. They use family and friends to create fake profile ratings, hence the BEST in Reno. Our 2011 Honda Fit needed some updating. She had some paint on the hood and top that wasn't aging well, and a bumper dent. The estimate process was simple and the cost reasonable. I cannot say enough how great the customer service was at this body shop. I went around town to five different body shops to get different quotes, and not only was this shop one of the more reasonable quotes, but they did a fantastic job as well. I have a 2010 Corolla that was oxidizing pretty bad on the roof and began to rust underneath in different portions, so I really wanted to get it repainted and taken care of. I got a quote of $530 to repaint the roof, and it cost exactly that amount after the work was complete, so the quotes are very close if not exactly what they give you. Also, other shops in the area were either equivalent in pricing, or they wanted like $900-1200 for the same exact job. I am so happy with my how my car looks now! I really want to highlight Barbara and her great customer service. Barbara, the lady at the front desk and face of the office, was so courteous and accommodating and I cannot be more thankful. This was one of the first shops I went too and was intending to do more work to my car repainting other portions as well, so I had many different quotes from them with various amount of work on them. I had gone to the shop three separate times asking for different quotes and she had only patience with me. It was so nice! I am so happy with every aspect of my experience from the staff, to phone calls, and the finished product! Also, their waiting room is absolutely the nicest of all the shops I went to. We took two cars to vip. First was our Audi A7 that we are in the process of selling, so we didn't want to invest too much (just enough to get it sold for a fair price). The replaced the front spoiler and pulled a car door dent out of it for $900. The second car was our Escalade. My husband used the passenger handle as a step stool to get into our cargo box. My husband partially fixed (replaced) the handle but it still didn't function (open the door). These guys did such an AMAZING job on my brand new Lexus F-Sport. Something happened over the winter that left a bunch of little chips out of the front end paint job. Literally within two days of bringing the vehicle and I was in a rental car, insurance adjuster had been met with and approved, and the work was started. It took about two weeks to get my car back and it looked freaking awesome! The pearl why he was super glossy, the clearcoat finish was perfect, and all the body kit and night vision headlights were re-installed perfectly. I was even given a super good deal to install a clear plastic bra on the front and to avoid future damage. Although this had to be done a couple months after the paint had dried, Barbara kept in contact with me and scheduled it the first possible day. Alfred is probably the best body guy in ALL the Northern Nevada/Reno area, and it's no wonder his paint work wins awards at Hot August Nights! Plus, when I dropped the car off Alfred went over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and fixed a couple random chips in the door, re-painted a couple minor rims scrapes from accidentally grinding a curb, and offered to paint my brake rotors FREE OF CHARGE!! When the insurance adjuster told me they were going to refinish my headlights instead of paying $3,000 to replace them, the team at VIP did the refinish work then called the adjuster to come back out to show him the work at which time he agreed buying the brand new night view headlights. There was also a small issue involving a couple days of rental car coverage and VIP Took it upon themselves to speak with my insurance company and had that paid for as well. In the end they even offered to pay the deductible albeit only $100 but still FREAKING AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Alfred and Barbara at VIP are amazing people! Oh and the repairs to my old car were terrific too! Alfred responded to my request for an estimate on Yelp in less than 2 minutes but I was leery of photo only estimates and got two more live ones before taking the car to VIP for his live estimate. Alfred's price was still best and he was so nice and thoughtful that I went with VIP, even when he had to increase a bit because of the need for a part he could not see in the photos. The work was done as promised and on time AND they didn't have to use that extra part after all, so I saved the other 100 bucks! I'm trying to make my 98 Camry last as long as I do and Alfred made that much more likely, thank you so much!! read more
