Leeche Lemonade
Nicole D.

We made a reservation for dinner and were seated immediately when we arrived. Our server was so nice and attentive throughout the entire meal. I tried two new drinks, a margarita and a leeche drink and both were strong but delicious. For my main meal I got the lobster cavatelli and it was incredible. There was a good about of lobster, and the flavor was delicious. My experience was so nice, that I can't wait to go back.

Just revisited yesterday with my wife and adult kids. The food was great as always. Matt was our server once again and provided friendly customer service. The ambiance was busy yet comfortable when we arrived at 1pm

Food, Service, and Ambiance all wonderful. There was a little bit of an odd smell as soon as we came downstairs but chalked it up to being in a cellar. No bad smells in dining/bar area. Wait staff were friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. For our appetizers, the meatballs and chicken pot pie empanadas were both delicious. Inside the empanadas could've been a little saucier but shell was crispy, light and the whole thing was very tasty. Violette's meatballs were excellent. For mains, we got lobster/shrimp risotto and the short ribs. Both were very tasty as well. Dessert was crème brûlée and I had a decaf coconut-caramel cappuccino. All yummy. Little pricey for people who don't drink alcohol (Total $225 for two people) but still was a pleasant experience. Definitely recommend.

We had a family dinner at Violette's Cellar for my mother's birthday, and overall it was a great experience. The vibes and decor were really nice - warm, inviting, and perfect for a celebratory dinner. Our server was excellent. He knew the menu well, answered all of our questions confidently, and was super accommodating, especially with my two baby nieces. He brought out crayons and printed coloring sheets to help keep them busy, which we really appreciated. The food was pretty good overall. Most of us really enjoyed our meals. The only dish that fell a little short was the shrimp and crab taglioni - it was surprisingly underwhelming in flavor compared to everything else. That said, it didn't take away from the night. All in all, great service, great setting, and a pleasant dining experience.

went for Sunday brunch and loved it so much! Definitely returning again! Waitress, bartender, waitstaff, everyone was really nice and helpful. Food was decent but their drinks was perfect!!! It's dimly lit gives it a bit more intimacy with your party.

The ambiance of the restaurant is very classy and elegant, providing a fine-dining experience with reasonably priced items! The selection is also very varied and they were almost all delicious! The truffled cream corn, lobster benedict, and burgers were all very delicious, with our favorite being the corn with its very potent and delicious truffle flavor! The specialized vacuum syphon coffee was also delicious and was enough for four medium sized cups, though it was made for four! The service was also impeccable with Mario and Kevin providing us with quick and considerate service with everything we requested! Our least favorite was the yuzu iced tea which was bitter and did not yield much yuzu flavor at all, so I definitely recommend increasing the yuzu concentration to make the drink more enjoyable! Overall we really want to come back soon to try their many other selections! We came for brunch and we can't wait to try their extensive dinner selection as well! Thank you for the amazing service! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Now y'all know.... that Verrazano toll ain't not joke so this had to be worth it, and it was!! So many menu options to choose from for brunch and the regular menu. Seems like the have weekly specials going on as well! Food was outstanding and the drinks.... Baybeeee!!!! Went on a Sunday for brunch but definitely going back real SOON. Kevin our waiter was everything! He saved what could have been a not-so-good service experience.

This underground restaurant has a cool ambiance and a very tasty menu to go along with it. The food had here was finger licking good! From the appetizers to the main course to the dessert... sooooo good!!! The first thing I notice about a restaurant is the complimentary table side bread. In this case they use poppy sweet rolls. They are freshly made and come out warm. As for the menu items, you will have a tough time selecting. If you come hungry you will leave stuffed! Not one bad dish had here. Even the house-made cocktails are quite delicious. With a cool ambiance like this I can see this being a Valentine's day sellout or if you are trying to impress someone special this will due the trick. Make reservations to be on the safe side. FYI: I had issues with my cell phone service being that it is underground. So yelping might be tough... just enjoy your time!

Fantastic food! Drinks and service are fast and courteous! I live in Long Island and I will go back.

Wild Mushroom Garganelli (shrimp)

Cool restaurant, service is attentive and bathroom is nice with stalls(2). Drinks are good and pretty, 8/10 strong. I got blueberry peach bellini, and my friends got their special of the day drink and margarosa. Love the warm flakey croissant, salad was good too. Charred octopus was nice with the cube of sausage or ham meat, quite salty combo. But the salad made it work. My friends loved the oysters. Lobster crostini was refreshing, It was 10/10. Lobster benedict was also quite salty. But sauce was good. Think my favorite is the wild mushroom garganelli, and added shrimp was so tasty. Love the texture of garganelli. It was salty tho. But i added chili flakes and it balanced ok. Dessert was a fail, creme brûlée so burnt and bitter, and cheesecake wasnt yuzu but rather panna cotta feel.

Kevin is the BEST bartender. He made my friend's bridal shower so much fun. Highly recommend having your next event here and asking for him specifically to entertain!! He really went above and beyond. We were literally chanting KEVIN!! Excellent job. He deserves a raise!!!

I was so happy hahah. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a restaurant for more than just their food. We came here for my boyfriend's parent's anniversary and the server's were wonderful and honestly very thoughtful as well! They were very attentive to our table and refilled our waters often. I also say this because when my bf's parents ordered the halibut to split, they had brought out their meal in two individual plates that were beautifully plated, you would think they ordered separately! They also took our group picture! :) We ordered 2 orders of the Basement Snacks: For Two, 2 orders of their raw oysters for appetizers. For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara Rossa with a side of Asparagus. Everything was so good. Their buffalo wings were perfectly marinated and not too saucy, their ribs were so tender and the meat fell straight off the bone! My carbonara was also delicious. For dessert they even gave an anniversary treat which was so sweet. I ordered a Chocolate Cappuccino which was also great. 11/10! Wonderful and would recommend.

I personally don't care for Ansac so I believe it totally changed the taste of the drink. The bartender could tell. I didn't like it and he asked me about four times " Are you sure I change it? It doesn't matter." I'm like if you're gonna ask me that many times then let's change it. So I got a sidecar and that was fire.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations.
