Long time yelper here, I rarely post reviews unless it's absolutely warranted. Went out for a casual outing with the family, ordered some very typical dishes - the wait for the food was a little longer than usual (about 25-30 minutes - it's fine). The food arrived and one of the orders were incorrect (which is also totally fine, mistakes can happen). It was a common mistake; I ordered a linguine with white clam sauce and got served one with red sauce instead. Again, not a big deal, nobody made a big deal out of it - I said it's fine we'll just eat it. What is a big deal is one of the most absolutely horrendous attitudes that was followed up from from the dark haired, overweight, karen of a waitress. "Oh!!!! W-w-well I wrote down red b-b-because I knew for sure I heard red" she snapped back. Okay, still cool, no problem just leave the dish here, we'll still pay for it and eat it. Unfortunately it doesn't end there. What happens next is the most cringeworthy inducing things you will ever read. After the short encounter, she stomps away while scoffing and muttering under her breath like the world owed her something and it was everyone else's fault that the order was incorrect. As the karen was stomping away, I requested some plates from the busboy because my family and I planned on sharing the entrees (surely a very common occurrence when dining out?). I guess I was within earshot of the karen because she immediately whipped around and started spewing a barrage of questions like she was giving a job interview. Jesus lady, I was only trying to get a few plates. "HOW MANY PLATES DO YOU WANT?" "WHY DO YOU NEED THEM" "UGH, OMGAWD" The final straw was when I requested the check; another older lady with grey hair gave me the check - I put my card on the bill and left it on the table and waited about 15 minutes until I just straight handed it to the bus boy. The karen who was obviously, purposefully ignoring my table gave me a glare and said "you just couldn't wait huh, had to hand it to him". I shrugged it off and decided to leave a nice review for the place. Overall, the food was also bottom feeder tier/mediocre at best, the steak was very overcooked, potatoes under seasoned and the portions are extremely small for the price point. Definitely give this place a pass unless you're about to die of starvation. There's a lot more "informal eateries" you could be spending your hard earned money at instead of one that has dog water food and has an ogress that tries to gaslight you into thinking you are the one who is incompetent. read more

The food was bland, the seafood was ok and needed more seasoning to it. It's like they put no salt or pepper on it. The only thing there that was tasty was the cheesesteak eggrolls. Everything else was either ok or too dry to be good, not worth the price. You could better quality at a regular diner. The service was good and the ambiance was great. They were very kind and attentive to your order. They got the order correct and there were no mistakes in that regard. The area for dining was arranged well with some privacy for the customers. The dining utensils and plates were arranged in a professional way and the area was clean. My family and I went for brunch on a Sunday for my daughter's birthday. There were 14 of us and we had a reservation. It took 30 minutes until somebody came to take our drink order. After 20 minutes nobody had come to our table.We finally got our drinks after another 20 minutes. I got my iced tea in a small drink glass. We were told that they ran out of glasses. One of the waitstaff said they were understaffed. It took a half hour to get our food which was generally disappointing. My Belgian waffle was of the type you get in the supermarket. You could tell that a much larger party was getting most of the attention and everything was badly managed. This is a great neighborhood bar and restaurant. No matter how many times I dine there, they never disappoint. The owner is often present talking to the diners many of whom are regulars. My friends love the salmon but my favorite dish is any of the chicken choices. My wife and I visited the Manor restaurant on Staten Island last weekend. The parking lot is very small, thankfully street parking is abundant. My wife had a baby shower to attend in the party room upstairs, the expecting father had a few of the fellas join him downstairs in the restaurant for cocktails and snacks. Service was on point, never a moment where I was without a cocktail. The food was terrific, fried calamari, clams in broth, chicken wings, wraps, burgers and pizza were served. The pizza was the weakest of the bunch but it was not the best but certainly not the worst I have had. I would not hesitate to go back. read more

Although it wasn't on the menu, I asked for "blackened filet of sole" It was absolutely delicious. The service was great and the waitress "Linda" was very friendly. The owner introduced himself and friendly as well. I want to especially thank the young man who led me into the restaurant. I mistakenly went up a flight of stairs and panicked when i realized i went through the wrong door. There is a dining area up a flight of stairs I'm oxygen dependent, i literally had a panic attack but he was kind and led me through to my seat. Great place for brunch! We've been here multiple times for their bottomless brunch and it seems like no one else has heard they do brunch! Bottomless brunch for $25 includes bottomless beverages (almost everything!), a basket of fresh breads (think bagels, croissants...), and a plate of fruit/pastries in addition to your main course. My 'go to' is the manor eggs which is essentially eggs benedict but with bacon, ham, sausage, English muffin, and home fries. My husband usually gets the French toast but tends to ask for it without the cornflakes. We absolutely will be back! read more

Excellent experience recently at Manor House, a classic SI restaurant. I had been there before and was underwhelmed but my recent visit really changed my opinion. I was meeting a friend and decided to sit at the bar to order a cocktail while I was waiting. Robin, the bartender, was professional and friendly! She made excellent drinks, explained the beers and made recommendations. We decided to eat at the bar, and she was prompt with water refills, clearing plates etc. The pizza here is tasty, as is the other food. I know it's so wrong, but I love mozzarella sticks and they're great here. I would come out of my way to come back here when I was in SI, if only for the warm, welcoming service. read more

The best thing about this place is their bottomless brunch on Sundays. For $22, you can sit there for three hours with your choice of a brunch entree (about ten to choose from), your pickings from the baked goods and fruit buffet, and endless vodka, champagne cocktails (or domestic draft beers for those with plebeian tastes). I recommend their eggs benedict, their Flintstone-sized steak and eggs, or burgers (always cooked to the temperature you like) for brunch. You're always in good company with their welcoming bartenders and taken care of by their attentive servers. I'm taking off a half star because they are always broadcasting a game on both/all the TV screens. Their restaurant's ambiance is a little peculiar; it has a dining experience of a motel serving continental breakfast and a sports bar for the baby boomers. Furthermore, another half star is lost to the slim (to none) odds of winning a masterpiece of a fish dish (always either too sweet, overcooked/dry, or bland). But you can always win with their their mussels in white broth (highly recommended); it really redeems them in the seafood department. Some more advice: always get the ribs with the dry rub and baby lamb chops if they're on the menu. read more

Back in the day the Manor House was known for its large & lively oval bar and for being one of the few places on the Island that served Michelob on Tap, and it's been a fixture in Castleton Corners for so long you might be inclined to pass it by for newer venues, However that would be a mistake. Michelob has long been replaced with Blue Moon and now it's more of a family restaurant, although they still have a decent bar and that's were Stef & I sat. Linda the barmaid served us a few Tanqueray & Tonics to quench our thirst, along with some very good Chicken Wings and some excellent Coconut Shrimp Egg-rolls. A little over $25 gets you a fresh bread and fruit with a decently sized entree and limitless drinks. They are very liberal with the pours here. We had brunch here yesterday and everything was wonderful! The food was topnotch! I had a frittata which was cheesy and warm and yummy! I just ate here for brunch. The eggs were fried in bacon or sausage grease because they came in a pool of oil that congealed. Also I'm really creeped out because I went to the bathroom and there a live roaches chillin out in the light fixtures. I was going to tell the manager but there was no manager there. While the food is decent the wait staff is beyond disgruntled. I come in on a Friday or Saturday night with a group of 4-6 friends about 10:30 pm for late dinner- kitchen closes at 11. The wait staff is immediately repulsed by our presence, they hate seeing us come in. When it's time for the check -which is shortly after 11 we are met with scowls and roling eyes. This has happened several times not just once. We are respectful adults , we leave a 25% gratuity so there is literally no reason to be uncordial. I myself have worked in the restaurant business my entire life and I understand both sides but I do not understand the lack of respect emitting from your servers. It is unacceptable and we will not be returning. Having knowledgeable, hospitable servers is beneficial to any restaurant. We will be going further down the road to Pepper Jacks. read more

The reason we selected it was because it was a bottomless brunch and we were 7 in our group. Anyway the brunch food was not bad. Some particularly good such as the cheeseburger with a fried egg.
