The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost.

My house was built in 1962 and most of my bathroom components were original. I wanted to have both…read morebathrooms remodeled because they were both very ugly and depressing. I had several contractors stop by to give me estimates - a lot of contractors were very sloppy in their estimates, telling me they would give me a bathroom in five days or asking me to buy all the supplies, etc (as if I would know what to get), or telling me they can do it for $5k without permits. Anywho, Ivan from Vitex stopped by and asked a lot of questions on what kind of vision I had, and when I did not know an answer, he made suggestions. For example, he suggested I add a shower light - that's something I did not think of at all - and also pointed out things that were required for code upgrades, etc. The entire process was very transparent. After I received the quote, I met Ivan at the warehouse in Rancho Cordova and he helped me pick out the tile for the wall and the floor. Again, I'm clueless and he made the right recommendations that made sense. The crew arrived on day one and these guys work hard and other than their lunch breaks, they don't stop until the end of the workday. The workers were very pleasant and diligent. Very friendly. I really enjoyed having them here and they did excellent work. Once they were done, I proceeded to hire Vitex for bathroom #2, which involved removing a jet tub to build a walk in shower. This time I worked with Arthur, who was also excellent and the same worker crew. They did an excellent job with that bathroom, as well. What also helped was being in touch with Victor, the owner, via group text to keep me up to date on the project, etc. Also, for anyone doing their due diligence, Vitex is fully licensed and the work they did passed the City of Sacramento's inspection, so these guys are legit. After reading all of the 5 star reviews on QC, I requested more information through Yelp. Marty contacted me within a couple of hours and we discussed my project. I recently moved into a brand new home and I wanted a custom wall unit for my office. The wall unit consisted of shelves, cabinets, and a desk. I wanted the wall unit to be integrated into the wall and appear as one piece. I looked at other companies (garage or closet organizers) and their product offerings all appeared to be modular. After Marty looked at my office, he sketched out the wall unit after taking multiple measurements then produced a quote. The price was reasonable so we negotiated a contract and I made a down payment. We agreed to an end of January delivery and installation date. Marty delivered the wall unit well ahead of schedule on January 8. He did the installation with his helper Nic who was very polite and professional. The installation appeared to go without a hitch which is what I expected from a craftsman with close to 60 years of experience. I highly recommend Quality Craftsman for anyone seeking high quality wood work products such as cabinets, desks, or furniture. I have attached a picture of the wall unit that I now have to decorate.
