We love Vino Volo when at the airport. They have an excellent wine selection. The staff is very knowledgeable and give excellent recommendations. They do have limited seating so you may have to wait for a seat at a table or the bar. The food is refreshing and a nice change of pace from the usual airport food. Had a long day of travel that consisted of multiple airport meals. My connection flight was delayed by 6 hours in Austin, so I treated myself to a bubbly wine flight at Vino Volo. It was already pretty late so it wasn't very busy at the time. The service was quick which is always appreciated with airport dining. I got a small bag of my favorite chips -- Torres Selecta to pair with the flight. The saltiness pairs perfectly with the bubbles. The flight consisted of 3 glasses: a pear & hazelnut prosecco, a strawberry & rose sparkling rosé, and a cuvée 1785 champagne blend. All three were tasty, but the prosecco was my fave. I finished my self-guided wine tasting with an order of the deviled eggs topped with bacon. I'm a deviled egg fanatic and will order them if they're on the menu every single time. When walking to my gate in the Austin airport I saw that this place offers wine flights that are reasonably priced. I was so excited! The sign said to seat yourself and a server would be with you. We sat ourselves. And waited. And waited. And waited. After about 10 minutes of not even being acknowledged by any server we left. Total bummer. read more

Walking through the airport, and viewing the wine lists at other bars along the way, I found myself at Vino Volo. A glass of Faust was recommended to me. At the time, their kitchen was closed for a few hours, but I was told that I could order food somewhere else and come back, if I wanted to. She recommended salad restaurants to me. I grabbed a quick salad and returned. I was really happy about this glass of Faust. Since I had time to kill, I later ordered the West Coast Kings flight which was a nice little taste of home. Lastly, I ordered the Margarita pizzetta which was an absolute treat. I would love to come back to enjoy the beautiful decor, fantastic service and a solid wine selection. read more

The Tempranillo was smooth, bold, and paired beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful experience, not just airport filler. Service was flawless. The team was friendly and informed without being pushy. My server offered helpful tasting notes and even checked in mid-glass to see how it landed. You don't get that kind of engagement often, especially in an airport. Ambiance: It's surprisingly peaceful. The lighting is soft, the seating is comfortable, and it's set just far enough from the gates to feel like a little escape. You could easily forget you're steps away from TSA lines and boarding announcements. Not your typical Vino Volo as it was small and crowded and not relaxing at all. Most locations I've been in have been somewhat chill and out of the hustle and bustle of an airport. This one was just kind of in the open. The staff was busy so it was tough to get their attention. I never did get my complimentary amuse bouche as part of being a loyalty member. I like that the selections are different at different locations. So many times I've walked by Vino Volo at so many airports without even giving them a thought... ... until now. Hubbers and I were flying back to California and just so happen this particular spot was practically right next to our gate. SO! With a bit of time to burn, why not. He got a glass of wine. I wasn't really interested but I figure I'd join him with a beer. Since we are in the state of Texas, I asked for a Native Texas beer. It was served to me with a glass. Almost immediately after both were given to me, they asked for the glass back because it was dirty. (Honestly, I thought it was just part of the glass' decor and I wouldn't have known or cared. Go to spot before flying out. My friends and I typically make have made this out meeting place when we're on this side of the airport. They have a good selection of wine and bites; enough to fill up before a flight but not stuff yourself. Carb loading is important to me before a flight since I get motion sickness. We happened upon Vino Volo, where I had been in other airports. As we both are avid wine drinkers, we were excited to go to a wine bar. We also shared a mini pizza. The atmosphere in Vino Volo was quite nice, especially as it didn't quite feel like you were in an airport. They had a large wine list and some chill music playing. We took a small table and made ourselves comfortable. We both enjoyed the wine we chose. The "pizzetta" was OK. It was pretty thin and didn't have a lot of flavor, but it didn't taste bad. We still had time to kill, and we decided that we would each like a second glass of wine. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to disappear. We probably sat there for 30-40 minutes until we realized that is was time to head toward our plane. It took another 15 minutes to get staff to stop by to bring us our check. All in all, Vino Volo was a decent experience and it was a nice alternative to sitting in a regular airport bar, but it would have been really nice to have a second glass of wine. read more

I had a couple hours before my flight and was desperately craving an italian sandwich. The italian here is $17 which is a little high but compared to $13 for a sandwich from the kiosks, I was willing to pay a little extra. The vinaigrette was the perfect amount of acid to brighten up the delectable cheese and meat. I also got the truffle chips which were so full of flavor! The only thing I'll say is the sandwich says it comes with a simple salad, that means a little bit of arugula with balsamic. The service was quick and attentive! They had a singer (@cloud9rising) playing the piano and it created a very calm and peaceful experience in an otherwise hectic airport environment. We stopped by here while at the airport and were really pleasantly surprised. First, the seats are comfortable and not too crowded (and we were able to find one near a charger). They have a nice choice of wines. We each had a California red blend. Then we each order a prosciutto, cheese, and fig jam on brioche sandwich. This was absolutely delicious. The balance of the meat, cheese and jam was perfect and the bread was the perfect complement. We were still a little hungry, so we also ordered the bruschetta next. This was really good as well. The tomatoes tasted fresh and it was really tasty. We will definitely eat here again next time we are at the airport. read more

What a fabulous find in an airport! It was so nice to get away from the crowds and not sit in a noisy restaurant or bar.  I was able to enjoy a molten chocolate cake with their Red Red Flight and ignore the airport.  It was the perfect pairing.  I was certain that I wouldn't like the darker red, being a devout pinot noir fan, but that was my favorite of the flight! Vino Vilo has small tables, so there are no crowded groups here. And there is very limited seating at the bar. The wines are available for purchase, but at no point was I asked if I wanted to. There's no sell here. It's just sit and enjoy the wine. If you have time before a flight in Austin, skip the soda and walk over to Vino Vilo and have a nice wine experience. read more

For an airport restaurant, this place is above average. We each had some glasses of Champagne to celebrate Edwyn's birthday and a meat and cheese platter. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive and we enjoyed our bubbles. The platter, though, wasn't anything special although I did notice that the woman sitting next to us ordered what appeared to be a very well dressed arugula salad with a chicken and bacon sandwich which she enjoyed.
