Vine Auto is a client of my partner, and we both take our cars there for service and maintenance. They treat all of their customers well, and are highly regarded. They are very professional and go above and beyond to ensure the 'health' of the customers' cars. And they are fair with their pricing. read more

Their pricing is incredibly fair, but it's their expertise and efficiency that I was impressed by. Dropped off my car on a Friday afternoon and the Jeep was ready first thing at 9am on Tuesday. After the prompt diagnosis I received a call and got a full transparent breakdown of the recommended work + pricing before any work was done. They even gave me recommendations on where to get tires and parts for cheap so I can save money down the road. It's hard to find an honest mechanic, but look no further Vine Auto is the best on the east side read more

I've been going to Zack since I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and I've been meaning to write a review for just as long. It's always a bit stressful to find a great mechanic who's honest and who does work right when moving to a new area. Zack and his crew have been consistently amazing. Many examples to choose from between myself and my girlfriend, but I just picked up my car from another visit where it needed some help. I was kept up to date on status and the ballpark estimate I got was right on. I was walked through what was done and drove away with the confidence it was done right. I can't say enough good about this shop. read more

Really fantastic. They kept my Mini in tip top shape for 17 years and didn't bankrupt me.

Zack is amazing! My car broke down nearby, and I ended up at Vine out of necessity, but I couldn't be happier with the service. They were upfront and accurate with pricing estimates, ordered and installed new parts in just two days, showed me the damaged parts and explained the issues. They even took me for a test drive with the repaired car. My car is 15 years old and now drives like new, and the repairs are covered by a one-year warranty. read more

No better or honest auto repair shop anywhere. Their work is always done right and never over charge.

I have been bringing my car to Vine Auto Center for sixteen years--for everything from regular oil changes to repairs after an accident--and I so appreciate how trustworthy and thoughtful Zack and Jack are. They generously explain everything and honestly discuss how urgently things need to be replaced or estimate how long they can wait. The prices are always reasonable and I always feel respected. I look forward to catching up with them and knowing that my car is well cared for and safe. read more

Never had such honest and communicative transparency at an auto shop. I will be a lifelong customer.

I'm very happy and appreciative with the great service I got at Vine Auto Center. Zach is very nice and helped out immensely with getting four new tires on my 70' C10, after blowing one out. read more

Vine Auto Center - Replacement tire - Auto Repair Near Me - Los Angeles, California

My family has been bringing our cars here for over two decades. The work they do has always been perfect, and they charge absolutely reasonable prices for what they do. I always recommend them to anyone I meet who is looking for a car repair place, and that is what I am doing here. Perfect service in a very imperfect world. read more

These guys have been around a long time and there's a good reason for that - they're the best! You can't beat them for quality repairs that won't break the bank. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Simple review - Jack and Zack rock, great service, competitive pricing and a personal touch from the team, Just the best !!!!

I've been taking my car to these guys for years -- you won't find a more honest, reasonably priced, and speedy service around. Especially as a woman, it can be hard to find an auto shop that treats you with respect, but these guys are absolutely stellar. Thank you Zack and team for all your help over the years. read more

There exists NO BETTER MECHANICS in LA than Zack + Jack. Took my Ford Ranger in because of a "check engine" light. They took the whole thing apart over the weekend. Come Monday -- they gave me my truck back all tuned up and clean. But the engine light was still on. They couldn't find the issue, so they DIDN'T CHARGE ME A DIME! I took it to Ford to find out that it was just a BS computer error... Ever since, I've been a returning costumer. They're fast, cheap and know how hard an auto bill can hit you when you're down. Zack + Jack! If you go anywhere else for automotive services, then you're a damn fool... read more

So impressed with this place! I l came in for a last minute wiper blade replacement, and not only did they fix that issue for me but I mentioned I was heading on a long road trip the next day while we were talking and he checked my car for me and made sure it was safe to drive and topped off a few things that were low. I feel great about taking my car on the road now! I highly recommend Vine auto center for great service and will definitely be back, Thank you guys so much!! read more

This place is great. Nice, fast, reasonable people who want to help you make the best informed decisions about your vehicle. I am a small, very young looking woman, and I probably look like an easy target to be taken advantage of, but these guys never do. They are never condescending about anything I don't know, and they are quick to stress things that I don't need to have done or repaired, rather than just tell me I need it and take my money. Even though their hours are inconvenient for my schedule, and it's way more difficult to get to them than any other shop, I make it work because they are the best! read more

This place continues to impress me Everytime I go. A while back I took my car to my dealership for a check up since I had been having issues accelerating. They said they didn't know why I was having acceleration problems but that I needed to get my brakes replaced. I took my vehicle to Vine to get the brakes done and while there they asked if I was having any issues accelerating. Turns out I had a transmission fluid leak. Thankfully my car was still under warranty, 1 month left, and I was able to get it fixed at my dealership for free (that's probably why the dealership tried to tell me they didn't see a problem ). Recently, while driving my sunroof flew off. After taking my car to a place my insurance recommended that, after a month, couldn't locate the right part I took my car to Vine. It turns out my car had an after market sunroof put in which Zack found out after making numerous calls and scouring the web. It would have taken a while for the glass to come in so he called around and found a place that had the piece and sent me there. So grateful to have this place in my neighborhood!! read more

Zack and Jack are simply great! Good professionals, easy going and down to earth, they listen to what your problems are and try to get on top of it and they are BMW fanatics. Worked just fine for me! I came with my e46, got my suspension fixed (control arms, bushings, struts and left knuckle), also oil filter housing gasket and some hoses got old. all at once and i didn't have to overpay for labor. Once I came and got my transmission, engine and undercarriage inspected, and tire leak closed. I spend there more than an hour and he charged me like 10 bucks, just cause I was the first customer that day and he was superstitious!:) His office has a lot of celebrity and movie industry ppl photos with autographs, and mechs are not dirty and grumpy, but actually singing there.)) Stop by that shop and you wont be disappointed! read more

I feel like it's a scam. I called to see if they can come out and fix my truck and they said yes. And right before they said they can come they said to pay them before coming. And to be honest for me that raised a red flag for me read more

I adore this place. Zach is honest and funny and not just a great mechanic, but a loving, genuine person. It feels like family to reconnect with Zach and the staff each time the cars need work. They are a reminder that there still good people walking the world. They explain what is happening with my car and trust that I understand. They give me time to make decisions and talk to my partner. They understand when I don't have enough money to do all the repairs and need to prioritize. They communicate better than most people I know. And they happen to be affordable, less than other places we found. They're better than a dream come true because I couldn't have dreamt up something this authentic. Thank y'all for existing and being a part of our lives! Love y'all! read more

Saw the Yelp reviews, so I decided to give this place a try for the new rattling noise coming from under the hood. Thought it might be a timing chain, but was unsure. I dropped off my 2005 Ford Focus in the morning, took a Lyft to work... and an hour or so later Zack called to give me the lowdown on the problem with a price quote to fix it (engine mounts were shot). The price seemed reasonable, so I told him to go for it. Got a call later that day to let me know my car would be ready by 4pm. I was able to get there just before they closed and was completely shocked to find that my car runs smoother than ever now. It's been a week now and there's no rattling, so they've earned my trust! And there's a damn good fish taco place next door as an added bonus. read more

****** Best Car Repair & Service in Los Feliz I started taking my 1997 BMW to Vine about 2 years ago. Luckily, I have never really had any "major" repairs needed, but plenty of the usual things: brakes, oil change, windshield wipers, a/c motor, brake lights, etc. Each and every time I have been 100% satisfied. Zack owns the place and his team are all good guys and excellent mechanics. I even brought my dad (my #1 mechanic from ohio) down to meet Zack and to let him know that I have a clue about this type of thing or at least my dad does. I highly recommend them for the basics + more. read more

I was shopping at the Albertsons up the street one night; when I was finished and returned to my car, it would not start. The check engine light had been on for a long, long time and I was having horrific visions of a seized engine in my head. The next morning, I had AAA tow my car to Vine Auto Center -- it was close and the reviews I read were good. I spent the day anxiously wringing my hands, anticipating a high cost repair that I didn't have the money to pay for. It turned out that there were several issues with my car (why? WHY did I have to be such a stereotypical girl and be all 'TEEHEE WUT IS THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT? I WILL IGNORE IT WHEEE!' I asked while I kicked myself repeatedly) but luckily, not all the issues needed to be addressed at once to get my car started again. Zack got my car running and gave me a list of things that still needed to be done, prioritized them, advised me on how long I could realistically go before addressing each item, provided very reasonable estimates, etc. Most of all, he was very reassuring and told me not to worry. He didn't make me feel stupid, didn't lecture me or look down on me for ignoring the check engine light for as long as I did, and didn't try to take advantage of my car naiveté. THUMBS UP! ps: It wasn't a seized engine. YAY! read more

Went there for years, no problems. Finally had them do a complete engine rebuild on my classic car. Turns out they never pulled it apart to machine the crankshaft. I moved away, the shaft failed and I had to rebuild it all over again. Don't trust them with big jobs! read more

Great Service My car had a flat tire and I was in hurry. They fixed my flat immediately after I told them my time restrain. The (manager or owner?) was really nice. A real neighborhood gem! read more

If I could give more stars I would. Not only are these some of the most knowledgable men around, they are also the kindest guys around as well. I just love visiting there, because they are so sweet! They remember you by name, and are always SO warm and helpful. Never once have I felt confused by them any step of the way. My dad was a mechanic, and so I always had someone with a wealth of knowledge and an open garage to take my car to, who I knew would not rip me off. My father passed away after I graduated from high school, and I spent about 4 years getting the run around from various other mechanics. Until finally, I was referred to Vine Auto. They have taken such great care of me and my cars. I had a Dodge Stratus that had over 200,000 miles on it, and at the time I just couldn't afford to get a new car. They kept her running BEAUTIFULLY (and she was over 10 years old). I have a long commute, and with the right maintenance each year, I never once found myself broken down on the side of the freeway. Zack and Jack will be honest with you about what the priorities are to get fixed now, and what to plan for. They give you the choice whether you get the brand name parts, which are better and last longer, or if you want to just get by with something else for the time being. Now, I have a newer car- a Honda Odyssey. I bought it used, so I took it to Vine Auto to get checked out once I first took ownership. They told me what a great car it was, and how to start taking care of her now. I know my father is resting a little bit easier knowing that his daughter has someone knowledgable and trustworthy watching out for his wild daughter and her cars. Seriously: BEST MECHANIC EXPERIENCE EVER Go to them. Tell everyone! read more

I've been going here for a few years now and they are super nice and won't rip you off. In my experience, they tend to come in under on their estimates. My friend that initially referred me here can vouch for this too. She has a lemon of a Range Rover and her uncle is a mechanic that has vouched for their honesty in price/service. The location is also easy. It's right next to my favorite taco place, a great body shop (Castle Auto) and Enterprise if you need to rent a car. If you can't get in here, the mechanic at Isaac Mobil on Temple and Rampart is also supernice, honest and cheap. I've posted a review of my experiences there on Yelp too. read more

I really love this place and have been going here for over a decade. They do great work and they're honest. Zach and Jack have been so kind and helpful. I had a very old Camry that they helped me hold onto for years and never overcharged me. When that car really started to have troubles, they were helpful on convincing me it was time to let it go even though it meant I wouldn't be coming back to them for years. I've had repairs that were small that they didn't even charge me for. I've never left unhappy and highly recommend them. read more

UPDATE: I have since had to come back for serious work - a few times now, alas. And every time Zack and Jack are helpful, reasonable, honest, fair, fast, friendly, and happy to explain what's going on with my cursed Hyundai Of Doom. I am so pleased - thanks, Yelp! - to have found my go-to mechanics. And their prices are good, too! What more do you want? Thanks, Yelp, for helping me find these guys. I needed to repair an automatic window that fell off the track. They repaired it for less than the dealership wanted to diagnose the problem. They took me happily right away when other repair shops were saying they had no time. They checked the fluids, glued something for free and really just felt like reliable, nice, and honest guys. I'm reserving a fifth star until I come back with something bigger for them to fix. But thus far - hooray! read more

This type of business is exactly what Yelp is for. These guys did a remarkable job! I drive a car with over 100,000 miles, so it's hard to tell what needs to be done immediately and what can wait. Zach took his time and explained exactly what was necessary. My car was ready when he said it would be and at half the price of any other shop. There is nothing more difficult than finding a mechanic that is trustworthy, hardworking and reasonably priced, so I had to pass along my positive experience. This place is top-notch! read more

I cannot say enough about Zack, his shop and how refreshing it is to find an honest and helpful auto guy. He was great for oil changes and new brakes on my Mini. Got the car back on time and reasonably priced - and a hell of a lot cheaper than Mini would have charged me. So when I was having problems with my mini starting in the mornings I took it back to Zack to check out. He told me I wasn't crazy, that there was definitely wrong with it, but his scanners weren't able to pick out what the problem was and suggested I take it to Mini where their scanners are specifically tailored to the Cooper and might have better luck sorting out the problem. Before I left, he gave me two great pieces of advice before bringing it to Mini 1) ask if it was a common problem with Minis and 2) call him when they told me what the problem was and he would tell me if the price they quoted me was fair or not. Turned out it was a common problem and the price they quoted me was fair, but because I asked the question of it being a common problem Mini fixed the car for free. If it hadn't been for Zack's advice I never would have thought of that and probably would have had to pay to get my car fixed. read more

I really like this shop! I will say first off I have *not* had any work done here other than a battery change, but I brought my car in this week for a diagnostic test on a "check engine" light that was coming on periodically, and not only did they charge my half the price everyone else was asking for that, he (Zack) also took the time to explain in great detail the issues he had noticed with my car. He even put it up on the lift so he could show me what he was talking about. As someone who knows very little about cars, having that visual was very helpful. Ultimately he told me what was causing the light to come on was not even worth fixing, and gave me a list of the other things in order of priority. Seems very fair and honest, and not interested selling people repairs they don't need. Update: Several months ago I had my car checked out before moving from LA to Portland (a 17 hour drive), and they did a great job of fixing the few small things that were an issue (an old belt and windshield wipers) for a reasonable price, and giving me their opinion of the car in general (good condition). I felt reassured and in good hands. I'll miss them!! read more

Got a lot of work done on my Mini Cooper at VIne Auto because my car needed some work, and I chose this place because of all the great reviews here. Had to come back here twice in three weeks for different problems that did not exist before. Zach does seem like an honest guy though, so maybe either I had two times the bad luck, or maybe just if you have a Mini Cooper don't bring your car here. First time - the passenger side door lock didn't work anymore. It was fine before I took it into the shop, but the day that I took it home it didn't work anymore. The first time they worked on my car, they opened up the car door to look at why the window wasn't working. I told them not to fix the window when the quoted the price because it wasn't an urgent problem for me. However, they must've accidentally messed something up inside the door because the door lock motor didn't work anymore afterwards. They said it wasn't their fault, but just to make me happy they would split the price of the new door lock motor with me and not charge the labor. So I thought, well my car is old - maybe it was just bad luck, and I split the cost with them. No hard feelings. Second time - my car had to be TOWED back to the shop after the transmission came out. This time they couldn't deny it as their workmanship. They specifically worked on the transmission. The bolts were loose and the transmission started shifting around my car every time I accelerated or braked - making a large thunk that shook the whole car. When the car was in reverse, the car would shake violently. Had to wait until Monday to get my car towed back to Vine Auto. Zach didn't try to deny that it was their fault. He does seem like an honest guy - paid for the towing and fixed my rear brake light for free because he felt bad. Who knows, maybe Mini's are hard to work on, which I know to be true. Or maybe they had a new technician who was very careless. This is one bad review out of many good ones, so looks like I may be one unlucky customer out of many, but I've just spent way too many days and hours here and wanted to warn people. read more

SO FRIENDLY. I'm so glad I came here. I have not one single bad thing to day; just a basic oil change & air filter replacement. He told me not to rotate my tires yet, saved me a few bucks, and sent me on my way. He also chatted with me for a while about Russia, books, and just nothing at all. read more

You will not find a more honest car repair shop in the city. PERIOD. I brought my car in to have its oil changed and asked them to tell me what I needed to have fixed. When I returned, Zack had created a list of several problems with the car. I readied myself for the sales pitch. It was then, he told me, "this car needs too much work, trade it in on something before it dies!" I was shocked and impressed at the same time. Standing before me was a business owner looking out for his customer. Thank you, Zack! You have made a customer for life and I will take your advice. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been going to Zack for years now and he is always honest, forthright and downright generous. He's genuinely interested in helping me get the best work done for the best deal and I've developed a trust with him that really thankful for. My favorite thing is that he gives options on how quickly parts need replacing, which helps me save money that I may not be ready to spend. I've been taking cars I'm thinking about buying to him recently and he is just as helpful and insightful as ever. I recommend this place to anyone who needs a mechanic and I'm really grateful that they're there. read more

This place is awesome! The engine splash shield got damaged on my Honda Fit. Dealerships and CarMax wanted to change me $$$ for a new part and installation. Will be using them again (but hopefully not too soon, hehe). read more

First off, I'm a car-tard. I couldn't tell you the difference between a spark plug and a muffler. To me, they're all just car doodads that I could care less about until they stop working. Second, I've had plenty of bad car repair experiences where I've been fleeced by greedy repair shops due to my lack of knowledge about what's under the hood. Vine Auto is the first repair shop that has won my undivided loyalty. They have taken care of my beloved Snowball (the name of my little white VW, which I later learned is also a porn term - don't ask!) for the past 3 years. Thanks to Vine Auto, Snowball is now 10 years old and runs fabulously, without leaving a severe dent in my wallet. Extra credit: They even recognize me by my first name when I call! Gotta love that good ol' fashioned customer service. read more
