Sometimes you go somewhere because the familiarity of the name brings you in. Im originally from…read morethe East Coast so when I fired up my Yelp app and saw that Brueggers was right in the area close to where I was getting my fasting labs, I made a beeline to get over here! I am a breakfast person and to have me fast for over 12 hours and not have breakfast is challenging. I also had a 7am meeting and there was no coffee going into my brain or any breakfast in my tummy. So right after getting my labs, I was here around 9:15am. They have quite an assortment of bagels here and they also have some day olds for sell too. I like pumpernickel bagels and got a schmear with veggie cream cheese. The bagel was ok but I think I like a more intense flavor and this wasnt it for me. The cream cheese was a bit too overpowering for me also. Next time, Ill have an everything with butter. That's usually my go to bagel choice. I also bought some day olds and froze them when I came home so I could enjoy them later. Not bad I guess for 8 bagels for $4.99. I also had a large hazelnut coffee which was $3.99 and it comes with a refill. Coffee worked for me! I sat outside at one of their many communal tables and enjoyed my breakfast. Id return here again and I saw they have an option of bialys too, those are my favorite!

Donutopolis is the best donut shop I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. If you live in the San…read moreDiego area it is worth your time to visit. In fact even if you don't live here you should stop by. You won't regret it. If you want mediocre pastries that do nothing but scratch your sweet tooth, there are dozens of places out there that are happy to do the bare minimum. Donutopolis in Poway is not one of those places. For the same price if not better than their competitors you will received not only some of the best donuts you have ever eaten, from flawless classics to innovative specialties, you will also receive so of the best customer service you have ever had at a donut shop, or most other restaurants for that matter. The staff have made their small corner store into a friendly and comfortable place to pickup treats for your events or sit down for a fulfilling breakfast any day of the week, and with special made-to-order treats for larger events, such as their giant birthday donut, Donutopolis is your one stop shop for all your donut needs. A personal favorite of mine is their maple bacon bar which I can comfortably say is the single best maple bacon donut I have ever had, and they are consistent. In fact once when I went in to get one before work they were sold out, and when I asked if they had any the baker offered to make me one right then and there. For no extra cost he didn't just sprinkle bacon bits on a plain maple bar and call it a day, he used fresh maple icing to glue the bits onto the bar, a bit of extra effort that I truly appreciated as I had to eat it on the go. It's the little things like that which show me that the people running this store and making these donuts aren't just doing the bare minimum, they care about their craft and they are dedicated to bringing you fresh and delicious donuts every time you visit, never cutting corners and never disappointing.

It's located in a shopping center, so parking was easy and there was plenty of it. The moment I walked in, I was completely overwhelmed in the best way possible. There were so many good-looking donuts that it took me forever to decide what to get. Thankfully, the staff was super friendly and happy to point out some of their most popular flavors. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of vegan and gluten-free options. A lot of places only have one or two, but they had a pretty good selection. I ended up keeping it simple with a classic glazed donut and also picked up a mini red velvet donut. Both were delicious, and I can definitely see why people recommend this place

I haven't been here for over a year. My friends made a reservation for brunch on a Sunday, because…read moreit was some of their first time here. I see they've revamped the walls upstairs and seem to have added more seatings too. I noticed they have a water dispensary area which is self serve. There's also a QR code for the menu, but I went ahead and searched the menu online and was helped by Tristan when all my friends have already placed their orders. He made sure to ask how I wanted my eggs done and if I wanted to add anything else. But also orders can be placed using the scanned QR if a server hasn't had a chance to check on your table. I ordered the avocado Benedict with hash. My friends ordered the chilaquiles and french toast, and a bunch others that I didn't get to take a pic of. However, I was able to try the chilaquiles, and the steak on that was so flavorful, the tortilla chips were nice and crispy, and the sauce in the bottom had a slight kick to it but with the mix of crema it helped balanced out perfectly. As for the cinnamon brioche french toast, that was one of the best French toast I've had in a while. Nice and crispy but still fluffy in the middle, with that nice cinnamon flavor, topped with whipped cream and berries. As for my order of the avocado Benedict. You can choose how you want your eggs cooked, and I had mine poached. Can def. Add other proteins to the dish with extra charge, but I wanted to keep it as is. The brioche bread was fluffy and buttery like too, it was great for absorbing some of that hollandaise sauce and yolk. My friends also ordered two bottles for mimosas. We had lychee and mango syrup/puree and it gave such a tropical and summer vibe. We also ended our meal with some desserts. We had the cream puff ube, cake choc brownie, and cheesecake caramel apple. My fav. Out of the three, was the cake choc brownie. I think I would be able to eat two of those if I wasn't full. Just loved how the chocolate mousse on the top melted in the mouth, but also that brownie isn't the typical brownie texture. It has a crisp to it. The mousse and crispiness just melts so deliciously together. I should've ordered another for takeout. Service was great despite it looking busy. Food didn't take too long to come out either. But we also did dine in at a decent time too. We had such a good time, especially for my friends who tried it out for the first time. I see they also have a dinner menu now. Maybe we'll come back to try that next time!

If you're looking for fresh delicious French pastries and bread this is the place to be! Wow…read moreeverything I had was so perfect! I knew I had found a good place when I couldn't even find parking in the parking lot on a Saturday morning. There was a line out of the door and most tables outside were occupied. I certainly did not mind waiting one bit when it's good! The variety is big, everything looks so good you want one of everything. From pastries to sandwiches, bread and salads even dressings and also merch! What a hidden gem! Staff is super friendly and very informative. The sweet girl helping me was so nice and was able to answer all of my questions and her suggestions were great. I will be coming back again and again for sure!

They have fresh crepes Sat/Sun 8am-1pm! Theres a cute stand outside where you can also watch the crepes being made. Ham, egg, cheese, & spinach crepe (7/10): $8.50 for base crepe + extras for add ons. A bit expensive -- not as authentic as the crepes I've had in France, but they are filled reasonably. Wish they were a little crispier! Turkey avo BLT (7.5/10): didn't blow my mind but I still enjoyed it. Good amount of turkey & avo and you can request it toasted! Chicken curry croissant (9/10): lovedddd the flavor. Raisins added the perfect amount of sweetness. The croissant itself is perfectly buttery and flakey! Apple turnover (8/10): would be perfect if it was a little warmer. Generous amount of filling & I liked that it wasn't too sweet. I'd get this again! Almond croissant (9.5/10): SO GOOD. came fresh out of the oven and was soooo flakey & the filling wasn't overpowered by the almond flavor. I'd get this again!! Jalapeno and cheddar sourdough (9/10): SO fresh & they offer to slice it for you. a little spicy and savory & great to eat on its own too! Will definitely come back to try other pastries! Tip: pay with cash to avoid the $0.50 credit card fee LOL

This is a must try, and when you do, you will come back!…read more I'll tell you what it's not often that I leave a review for a place, but this little gem is tucked away right off the 15 before reaching Escondido from Downtown. The first three things that came to mind after dining here were high quality ingredients, the customer experience/ambiance, and attention to detail. Eddie who I believe is the gentleman who runs the place was my "cashier" he provided the two recommendations photographed below (I am not a photographer) but I can tell you they were both out of this world. The Prosciutto & Fig, Toast and the Allen's Tuna Cool and Tasty. The staff was warm and inviting, and though this is a coffee shop, they came around table to table, customer to customer and asked how they were doing, and if there was anything they could do to make the experience better. You just don't see that in a coffee shop. This place is an entire experience and it's clearly built around highly effective culture. I will drive out of my way to come here, I discovered this place on a whim and will now be regular. If you get a chance, whether you're a local, or someone just visiting "Cali" give this place a try you won't regret it, ask Eddie about his story of how this place got started with him and his three daughters. I'd be willing to bet you'll add it to your rotation and become a regular yourself.
