My family has been coming here for years, and even though we still enjoy the pizza most of the time, something seems off that the quality just isn't the same as it was in the glory years when Vince Sr. was still alive. I just find it very average and bland these days. If you order an Italian Hoagie it's hit or miss with the quality of the meats and freshness of the all-important roll. It certainly doesn't help that he has kids doing a lot of the work, and there have been concerns brought up in various reviews about sanitary procedures. I will tell you this much: The teenagers that handle the money should not be going from the cash register right back to touching food. That is completely gross and unsanitary. He created one of the best, tastiest (burn roof of mouth) deliciousness of a pizza, that continues to never disappoint. Vince Jr... well, he's quite the character. It wasn't the 1st, 2nd or even less than a dozen occasions, where, well.... if he is in his "legendary mood", YOU, the customer will take a hit, if not the entire brunt of it. When I'm in NEPA, a stop here is on every trip's to-do list. My all time favorite pizza--unchanged since I was a kid. Thin, slightly chewy/slightly crispy crust, creamy cheese, light sauce and great spice blend. It's unique and a must-try. This may be the most unique pizza experience you'll get in the area. The cheese blend they use is very distinguishable. It's hard to explain, but they use some variance of mozzarella, ricotta, and American cheese. (I may be mixing them up or not including enough cheeses. I'm not the most sophisticated at identifying cheeses. It's definitely different though) All in all, the pizza is hard to get used to at first, but grows on you with every bite. By the time I was on my 2nd slice, I was blazing through the entire pizza and loving every bite of it. It's not too greasy and not to saucy. This may be the best pizza in the world. Unusual crust and cheese. I don't work in Scranton anymore so can't get it as often. But worth the trip. I never found any of them to be rude and I go back as far as Vince Sr who passed a few years ago but even if they are rude- get the pizza. This pizza is my absolute favorite, and that's coming from someone who practically grew up in Old Forge. Seriously the best pizza that I know of. The first time I had this pizza was at the old place in the Clarks Summit location, but that has since closed down. My buddy Jim and I stopped to get something to eat, and the name and the castle of a building won us over. When we got our order, I was incredibly hesitant to try the pizza: it looks disgusting! Brown patches of cheese, the sauce is strange, not to mention how hot it was. After trying it, though, we came back for more pizza every time we were in the area. Anyway, the pizza is so damn good that I drive 45 minutes on 81 during rush hour just to get some pizza every now and then. Highly recommended. read more

Where to start? 3 stars is because of a 4.5 star pizza (very good and very unique....coming from someone that has had pizza all over the country and world) combined with a 2 star rating for service. It isn't that anyone is really rude here (my usual complaint about service), but more that it is extremely difficult to actually get a pizza here and get it on time if it is a weekend. How to convey my point? Perhaps a short storey of my last visit there. A businessman that knew Vince the Pizza Prince had something going for him offerred to buy another establishment, all they had to provide was the recipe and he would split it 50/50....because well, it is damn near impossible to get a pizza here on-time on a Friday (Pro Tip: Order before they open!). Of course, the prince himself declined and to this day one must still battle for the right to a slice. i have always loved their pizza and was craving it for a week considering i haven't had it in over a year or so! got home to dig in and tasted great however woke up myself my kid and my girl all throwing up and sick as all hell! i wrote him personally on facebook he read the message but didn't respond so i wrote a review on facebook and he immediately deleted it! any normal pizza shop who valued their customers would have done everything and anything to make the situation right! not this man! he just straight up ignores u meanwhile my whole household is sick and i was charged $40 for two pies which is ridiculous itself !!! im assuming the culprit was the cheese just sitting on the counter and not refrigerated as it should be!!! a whole big bag of it no less! i wonder how many other customers got sick from eating it last night??? im sure there was plenty! i will be traveling to andys in archbald from now on as myself or family cant afford to get sick from eating soiled ingredients! this place has really gone to shit!!! wont he returning!!! cheese is meant to be in a refrigerator and chilled not sitting on a counter for hours!! be careful people!!! this feeling is not pleasant!!! been throwing up since morning!!!! read more

I have been a customer for over 15 years. I have been to both locations when there used to be a second one in Clarks Summit. The pizza brings me back every year. This has been my favorite round pizza for years--back when Vince's father ran the place. It still is my favorite pizza--unique and full of flavor with a nice crispy crust.. HOWEVER......on a recent visit I was apalled by how the owner treated a customer. An elderly gentleman came in and asked if he could purchase a pizza for his nephew whose birthday was coming up. He asked the owner if he could just put a note on the wall with the nephews name and mark it : owe one pizza....the owner wigged out. He was very loud and and disrepectful of the elderly man and shouted " oh no buddy, I'm not going to be responsible for anyone's money". The man then asked him if he could purchase a gift certificate. The owner very rudely said " i don't have any". Then he got real cocky and said" how about this..did you ever think of this, why not throw $10 bucks in a envelope and say there-that's your pizza money". the elderly gentleman just put his head down and walked out, totally embarrassed. Then the owner continued to talk about the guy with other patrons and his employees. Shame on this owner !!!! This is certainly not the first time I have witnessed a nasty attitude from this place---but I can tell you this much--as much as I love the pizzza- I won't go back. Anyone who could publicly humiliate another human being in this fashion does not deserve my money. I ordered 2 red and 1 double crust white a few days ago and was surprised when I was told that the bill was $39 dollars and change. Now I know why he doesn't put his prices on his web site. The thing that really made me angry is when I took a slice of the white pizza, I could only find a thin layer of cheese. Just for the heck of it, I checked the other slices and I think Vince Jr. might have been daydreaming when he made it. When you order white pizza that costs $17-$18 dollars, you expect cheese. The red was very good but I will NEVER order white pizza from him again. This is the second time this happened to me, it won't happen again. read more

This pizza is very good if it isn't burnt. It has a thin, crispy and tasty crust, and a unique topping. It is good pizza. However the owner is really arrogant if you complain about getting a tray that is burnt--and that happens about every second or third time I order from there.
