Parpadelle spinach cream pasta special
Lily P.

Absolutely amazing delicious food for a very fair price! Great wine parings available also for a fair price. There is plenty of parking nearby. You should be prepared to show up early (at latest 4:45pm) or wait for a while for a seat. If you get lucky, you may be able to snag a bar seat since those are first-come first-serve. We learned that the menu changes each season to reflect the different ingredients that are fresher or more available that season. I think this is a great idea! The decor is clearly also changed season-to-season, and it was very cute and fall-themed during my visit. We ordered the parpadelle spinach cream pasta special, butternut squash arancini, steak, pizza special, and butterscotch pudding for dessert. The butterscotch pudding is a must-try!! It's easily one of the best desserts I've ever tasted anywhere. For entrees, I highly recommend the steak (which is cooked in a rich and flavorful Moroccan-style sauce) or the parpadelle (which was a special on the night we visited). I will definitely be returning in the future!

Vin 909 is a very popular destination on Fridays. The food is good and there is a broad drink menu for those who imbibe. There is also sure to be a line whenever you arrive, which can make dinner here a bit of a chore. PRO TIP: arrive for the first dinner seating early (doors open at 5pm) by arriving about 15-20 minutes before the restaurant opens.

Brought a group of 5 into this little cottage tucked away in the suburbs of Annapolis and I'm so glad I did! We got to experience their farm-to-table Modern American menu and amazing hospitality. With a marvelous wine list and shared plates, there is something for everyone at Vin 909!! Be sure to arrive early! We arrived at 4:30 and there was already a line formed for their 5pm seating (we were already 4th in line)! They offer a rotating menu, the skirt steak, squid ink pasta, and margherita pizza were truly exquisite! The corn is was good as well but a bit too heavy on the lime for us. The wine was great, the service was awesome, and the ambiance was laid-back and inviting. We sat in the patio out back and it felt so homey. The noise level was a little high but that's to be expected when you're dining at an Annapolis favorite! Be prepared to park on the street and come with empty bellies! You do not want to miss out on Vin 909!

Have not been here in years and wanted to take advantage of being close to come back to one of my favorite spots. Wednesday night with 30 min wait, I'll take it. The food remained real good with a farm to table theme. We ordered the Alex Ovechkin and Farmer Scotty's pizza. Both real good, the pizz crust was better and more crisp on the edges and got a little soft towards the middle. The flavor profiles and fresh ingredients on both made for real good pizzas. The service lacked and could not really understand their system. It took 10 minutes after we were seated to get our drink order and water to the table. Then about another 10+'minutes to take our food order. One person took the drink order, another server delivered the drinks and 2 more took the food and delivered it. I'm don't really care about the system other than it took a long time. We received our food 50+ minutes after being seated. The food was excellent the speed of service just detracted from the overall experience. Very cute location with excellent food that is good for a family or date night just be ready to be there for a while.

Let me just say this was THE SPOT, at 5pm sharp there was a line and people excited to sit down for wine and dine. I've never seen so many people at the door waiting for them to open. The staff was kind and efficient in getting everyone seated and served. Food was delicious, especially the pizza and desserts and the rose wine by the bottle was five stars. Parking onsite and out front on the street as well, but plan accordingly because it is popular and in demand. Indoor and outdoor seating and a fun bar wrap around as well. Great spot and experience.

Oct 2024 It's been a while since we've been in to eat at Vine 909, so we decided to stop in for dinner. We ordered the spinach salad but switched the dressing to balsamic, and we also got the corn soup special to go with it. Then we went with our favorite -- the Porky Pig pizza. The corn soup was excellent, though it needed a little more seasoning. Once I added some salt, it really brought out the flavor. The Porky Pig pizza tasted good, but I was a bit disappointed. I understand prices have gone up because everything is more expensive these days, but if the prices are higher, the toppings shouldn't be reduced. There were hardly any meatballs on the pizza this time -- and if you look at my older photos of the same pizza, you can see a big difference. For dessert, we got the butterscotch pudding with the homemade candy bar, and we even ordered an extra candy bar. Both were excellent, as always. We love sitting at the counter so we can watch the kitchen cook everything and ask questions here and there. We've actually ordered different dishes in the past just from seeing them prepared right in front of us. Despite the disappointment with the pizza toppings, we will definitely return. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Really lovely wine bar with a tasty and creative food menu! We sat on the front porch and looked out on their lovely garden. It is a popular place with no reservations so arrive a little before they open to get a table. We got there slightly before 5 and snagged one of the last tables. They have an extensive wine list with lots of great options and the food is really good! The pizzas are fun and creative but a special shout out for the corn off the cob and the burrata which were fantastic! The apple crumble for dessert was truly divine! Service was so incredibly kind and friendly too!

I've been to Vin909 many times and my experience is never the same and I'm unsure why I haven't written a review yet. I always come back for the butterscotch pudding. Even if the bartender just puts it on the counter with the lonely carmelita points on top and no spoon, napkin, or bag for a to go order, after leaving a 85% cash tip. When I learn or feel like making both items at home, I won't return.

Vin 909 continues to shine brightly, amid much restaurant competition in Annapolis. We went there last night (a Friday, and the 4th of July). We had not been for a while. We had planned to arrive around 7:00, after the first seating. We were seated immediately at a nice table outside on the patio (our preference, whenever possible). I ordered a glass of pinot grigio and my husband wanted a beer, so he chose the Forward Brewing Kolsh. The beer was a home run, and from another neighborhood business we love. We had decided ahead of time to share several items. I ordered the Spring Local salad: mixed greens, radishes, roasted beets, goat cheese, & a hibiscus vinaigrette. It was a huge portion and we both loved it. My husband enjoys their Margherita pizza with pepperoni added. The crispy crust is perfect. We also ordered a side dish of the grilled asparagus to share. We asked for the whole grain mustard vinaigrette on the side (my husband was not sure at first about that combo), but he proclaimed it was the best asparagus he had ever eaten, and the sauce was light and tasty. The service was impeccable. They use a team model, so we interfaced with four different staff people, but our glasses were never empty. They are very professional and not intrusive, but they've got you covered. It was a delightful dinner. The prices are extremely reasonable for excellent food.

This is a farm to table experience and definitely recommend it! There are no reservations so expect a waitt. It's family styles but definitely recommend a salad, and their mashed potatoes, and black bean hummus as dstarters. They are also known for their steak and their pizzas! You can't go wrong with either. Me and the wife had two pizzas and a salad and mashed potatoes and it was a lot of food. Great service and a great date night dinner.

It's undeniable that this place has "it". Walking up to 909 you are welcomed but a lovely natural garden that screams pollinator goals - I mean how does a restaurant maintain such lovely foilage? Apparently by trade, some other passerby was bewitched by their pizza and offered their superb gardening skills up as trade. This is an abridge to Alex's version of the story but I really feel they must have loved the 909 so much it was a fair trade. This place feels like home. The restaurant was full of acquaintances, and individuals that looked as if they had a semi permanent fixture at the bar. They - the patrons, and the staff welcomed me kindly as I sat at the bar. You know it's a good place to be when the customers are as much part of the service as the staff is. I ordered two glasses of a lovely varietal I had never heard of thanks to their expansive and highly cultured wine menu - to enjoy with a cheese plate because my analysis paralysis kicked in with their perfect menu (everything here looks delicious). I met a lovely stranger or two and one even so kind to share his perfect piece of margherita pie with me (an absolutely euphoric experience please trust me on this one) and Alex, the owner, happened to plop down at the countertop next to me and entertained my love and affection for his beautiful restaurant for far too long. Guys, it's good. It's a fall in love, bring a first date, your beloved family, or connect with a stranger because you both happen to exist in the same space kind of place. This restaurant is a moment in time and I couldn't recommend it more. For the non poets aside - it's got a huge wine menu broken down by price per glass (genius), vegan and vegetarian options, and a rotating locally focused menu. Enjoy.

Do they not take a reservation for lunch? I'm looking for a table for noon on a Saturday. I know they didn't at all before COVID, but I know they do take reservations now. But is it only for dinner?

They do not take reservations at all.

Is the inside open or just outside tent?

Just outside patio and tent are open. Gas heaters in both. Anne Arundel county making it take out only starting Friday 12/18 for a month long period.

Gluten free options?

Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a pretty big disappointment. From what I understand, they recently let go of their head chef and are currently running things with sous chefs, and based on this experience... it shows. On Saturday, I ordered the oyster BLT. I was told ahead of time it came with four oysters, which is fine -- if those oysters actually feel like the main event. On a sourdough sandwich, you expect something substantial -- big, meaty oysters that can hold their own. Instead, what showed up were four tiny oysters that were basically lost in the sandwich. I'm not exaggerating when I say you had to go searching for them. And for $28? That's where it really lost me. I have no problem paying Annapolis prices when the food backs it up, but this felt completely out of sync. The portion, the quality, the overall execution -- none of it justified the price. It honestly felt like something that should have been half the cost... at best. Beyond that, the sandwich just felt underwhelming overall. Nothing about it stood out, nothing felt intentional, and it definitely didn't live up to what this place used to deliver. It's frustrating because this used to be a spot I'd recommend without hesitation. Right now, though, it feels like they're charging premium prices while the kitchen is still trying to figure itself out. I really hope they get things back on track, because Annapolis needs places like this to be good. But as it stands, I'd think twice before ordering anything from their specials.

We ordered a bottle of red wine to share and we were asked if we wanted a decanter to which we replied yes. He poured it in at our table with an aerator. For food, I ordered the City Dock Pizza and my friend ordered the Beef Bolognese. The City Dock Pizza was good - thinner crust but plenty of flavor. The Beef Bolognese was a lighter colored sauce than I anticipated. The pasta was good and the sauce was also good but not what I would consider a traditional Bolognese. We did order the Cheesecake and a couple glasses of prosecco and they were sweet enough to put in a candle for my friend's birthday. The cheesecake is DEFINITELY recommended, it was very good and came as a suggestion. It did not disappoint. Overall, had a great time and would definitely come back and everyone was really friendly.

At Preserve, consistency is not the point, evolution is. Each visit feels slightly different,…read moreshaped by a menu that shifts with the seasons and refuses to coast on familiarity. That restlessness works in its favor. The space is compact, almost disarming at first. Then it settles around you. We consulted you, the Yelp Community, for recommendations. You did not disappoint! The restaurant is in a complex with a hotel and other shops in the heart of the town. We parked in a nearby garage (easy) and walked over. We didn't have a reservation, but, fortunately we were able to get a table for 2. Yay! The atmosphere is warm with a sophisticated feel. We were greeted promptly, got drinks and they took our order. First up was a simple, traditional tomato and onion salad, no lettuce, with an oil and herb dressing. This was the only soft note in the meal, mostly because this type of salad needs a tomato with lots of flavor, particularly an acid note to balance the oil. These tomatoes weren't up to that task. It was still very good, just on the bland side, and getting good flavorful tomatoes late in the season can be challenging. Entrees! I got the Pappardelle with Bolognese gravy. Anyone who has read my reviews for a time knows I have a problem with tomato gravy with beef being sold as "bolognese". Pure joy when nicely cooked Al dente noodles showed up smothered in a legit creamy bolognese. Y'all, it was really good. Lys had never experienced Smith Island Cake. Shocking, I know. So we of course got a slice to split after dinner, despite being pretty stuffed. The cake didn't disappoint. It was fudgy (almost like a thick ganache) and moist but not mushy or falling apart. Lys now understands why this is the unofficial dessert of Maryland. Sooooo good. Awesome place. Highly recommend.
