We have eaten here several times now, and we keep going back. The food is always excellent, and the service is good. Be prepared to wait for a table, and expect a noisy atmosphere. I've been living in Annapolis a few months now and it's crazy that I did not come to this place sooner. This place is phenomenal!!!!! Everything I had was amazing. Service was great and the bartender took the time to find out what kind of wine I liked the best. We had the arugula pear salad, risotto, margarita pizza, and the badda bing pizza; all I can say is wow. My fiancé (which is Italian) said that was comparable to the best risotto he had in Italy. Since COVID, this restaurant has started accepting reservations which allowed me a chance to try it finally and I've been missing out. I went two times in a month! I like that fact that their menu changes so there always a new pizza to try. This place is small and before it was first come first serve which is why I never been until now. My partner dislikes waiting for tables. They have friendly servers, unique beer and wine selections and creative thin crusted pizzas. The pizzas aren't overly topped but have just right amount. So far I have tried the Spincacon and special of the day pizza with ramps and pepperoni. My favorite thing is the butterscotch pudding with carmelita points! Some friends of ours recommended this place before we moved here and we just hadn't gotten a chance to go before now. So we decided to go here to celebrate our anniversary. We made a reservation (which I recommend) and we ordered wine, beer, the chefs selection appetizer, two pizzas, and the chocolate pot de creme. Our waitress heard it was a special occasion for us and offered a dessert on the house. Everything we ate was delicious! Fresh ingredients, great wine, cooked perfectly! We both ended up taking half our pizza home so if you get an appetizer and want dessert I'd suggest splitting a pizza. Our waitress was so pleasant and the place was very clean. With truly hospitable staff, fun inexpensive wines and excellent food, Vin 909 is a hit! Our family of five from 13 to 21 all enjoyed the food and couldn't be more different in their palettes. We ordered salads, plates and pizzas and our awesome waiter organized our eclectic selections into courses. The wine list is great and bottles (good ones) start at $22 and end at $43. The food has a gourmet taste with fun names that appealed to everyone. Spaetzel with shrimp, pepperoni jalapeño flatbread, mushroom and arugula pizza, and amazing desserts including the butterscotch pudding... which I like in spite of not being a sweet tooth. Would I come back YES, YES, YES. Tips: there are no reservations, come early by 5:08 pm, they had filled every table (outdoor and indoor). The peeps waiting outside had drinks in hands and looked to be enjoying themselves but better to have a table. This is a pleasant mile walk from downtown Annapolis through Eastport with street parking. Glad to be back with great restaurants to write reviews. This restaurant never disappoints. I have tried so many delicious items from Boar meatball sliders, mushroom risotto to the chocolate pot de creme. Visited here last night for a first date and we were both so impressed! She is a pescatarian and there were delicious options for her. I'll start with COVID: Everyone on the wait staff wore masks, seating was in an outdoor tent next to the restaurant and it had a wide opening in the front and small openings along the upper area where the roof met the walls, well ventilated, tables with lots of space between them, stand heaters!! so the inside was warm even though it was in the 40s outside, still suggest wearing a sweater and maybe bring a small throw for over your legs, everything was sanitized before we got to the table, the wait staff stayed a good distance from us while they were interacting. The wait staff was very pleasant, knowledgable, and attentive. The food was just amazing as it always is from my past experience here. She had the Golden Gate pizza which was served hot, looked delicious, and tasted amazing. I was unsure about butternut squash on a pizza but it was paired really well with the cheese and crispy thin crust. I found it balanced the sweetness. I had the Pumpkin Squash Risotto and I was blown away. I love Risotto and again the sweetness of the squash was balanced by the mushrooms, was served hot, looked delicious, and tasted amazing. There were roasted pumpkin seeds on top which added a nice texture change to what otherwise would have been a completely soft meal. I definitely continue to recommend Vin 909! Been here many times, but never since COVID. When I'm on Yelp, I'm often looking for info on how restaurants are doing things, so I thought I'd share. 1- they take reservations now. They make sure everyone is out by 10pm, so the last reservation is at 8:30. 2 - There is no indoor seating. They're open on the covered patio with the doors open, and they also have a tent outside. The patio was perfect with a heat lamp right to my back! People could take off their coats. The tent was cold and people wore their coats. I'm not SURE, but I think if you make a reservation, they put you in the patio space. 3 - it was perfect all around! So glad we chose Vin for dinner last night! The new Brussels with kimchi were so good and an interesting combination! Our pizza was awesome. The wine and service were so nice. We got the baklava, and it wasn't my fav baklava. It was a little dry, in my opinion, but we still definitely ate it and enjoyed it! read more

What a great experience! We were able to find parking just down the street and showed up shortly after opening on a Sunday. We were seated right away and service was on point. The wine list is a wide range and covers all price points. The husband and I were pleased with our choices. We started out with a charcuterie board, which came with a great selection of two cheeses, olives, walnuts, and a cured ham, I believe. My husband wishes there was more meat but when doesn't he? The pizza here is amazing. My husband ordered The Godfather and it was loaded with toppings. The basil and sauce mingled perfectly. My (seasonal) crab roll didn't look like much at first but tasted decadent. So gooooood. At the end of our meal, I turned down dessert, as I'm trying to make good (?) choices. Went here to celebrate a career achievement. I had to book a reservation for outdoor seating a week and a half in advance. Wild! We ordered the Spinach and Feta Salad, Creamed Spinach and Mushrooms, the Garlic Confit (added mushrooms, onions, and meatballs to it), and the No-Skimp Basil Margherita pizza. It took a bit to get the food to the table (20 minutes), but I enjoyed the atmosphere of the outdoor seating set up under the lights. Tables were also properly spaced to minimize COIVD risks. I wish that the pizza was not thin crust, but overall it was pretty good. The marinara sauce was also very satisfying for dipping your pizza in, but you have to request it with the waiter. The salad was pretty average, nothing creative added, and a bit small. However, I still really enjoyed this place! read more

I love to go out and enjoy a good time with friends. This place was absolutely perfect for me and my friends to hang out with some pizza, snacks, and a glass (or few) of wine. The service was great! My lack of knowledge of which wine I liked more astounded m, yet my waitress was more than helpful. She let me taste test and eventually sent me on my way with a couple yummy glasses of Chardonnay. 10/10 recommend this place. Their service was great! read more

My neighbors raved about this place for its pizza. So, I gave it a try. First, let's ignore the fact that I once plotted and visited 18 out of 20 wood-fired pizza joints to in NY city and I had a wood-burning pizza oven in my backyard, I find this place has the best pizza in Annapolis based on my personal preferences and experiences. But why such low rating of 2 pathetic stars? On a whim after my workout at Pip Moyer Rec Center, I craved for real pizza and decided to order out. What ordered was a daily special with Fontina, white cheddar, ground Coppa, ham/sopressata, etc. what I got was something with walnut and unrecognizable ingredients and with a missing slice of pizza. Fortunately, I am not allergic to nuts, and the pizza was actually enjoyable when hungry. I can only conclude that this place didn't give a hoot about my simple cary-out order. I didn't mind the $22 cost of a small personal pizza even with a mysteriously missing chunk of the pie but the total disdain for integrity and service was a deal breaker for me. I still don't know what pizza I ate. Looking at photos of pizzas posted by reviewers, I think I got the shaft with a pizza that actually looked pretty subpar. read more

This place is remarkable, it's in an old house and in a unassuming part of town with limited parking, and very few seats within the eclectic restaurant. They do not take reservations, But you can come in and have your number put on their call list and they will ring you when your table is ready. Me and my friend started our evening with a couple of nice glasses of wine while we waited for our table to be ready. Once seared, we order our appetizer which was the white balsamic and baby arugula salad, consisting of fresh baby arugula, Local goat cheese, fried shallots, prosciutto, and white balsamic vinegar. This salad was big enough for both of us as an appetizer and was very meticulously crafted and full of flavor. After our appetizer it was time to get serious so we opted for the Spanish pig which is one of their most popular pizzas consisting of chorizo, Wildboarmeatballs, provolone mozzarella Parmesan cheeses, basil, and a light tomato sauce. This pizza was well crafted an extremely flavorful. One of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy. An unbelievable find in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Vin 909 was my home away from home while living in Eastport. The VRBO I rented was just a block away so Vin 909 became my "go to" for dinner. Every salad, entree, or pizza are best of the best. You have not lived until enjoying their ARUGULA & PROSCIUTTO SALAD, THE NO-SKIMP BASIL MARGHERITA, and/or CAST IRON SKIRT STEAK. Amazing food, friendly service, and top notch ingredients. An excellent place that appears to let the chef dream. So far, any pizza that features mushrooms is a winner and bursting with flavor. The fresh mozzarella is another star, with seasonal accompaniments. My other favorite is the steak that, while chewy, is in a heavily spiced sauce that's to die for (let them give you bread to soak up that goodness). Always a long line and if you don't make it for the "first seating" there's about an hour wait. On that note we put in a to-go order & was told it would take 15 min. About 15 min later I see a pizza come out and get put on the bar. We'd also ordered a salad and sliders. We waited. And waited. And waited. The bartenders came and went. Everyone knew we were waiting. Another 20 min go by when the salad and sliders come out and I say "that pizza that's been sitting there better not be for me" and it of course was. It gets handed to me and the lady says "do you want the pizza made again?" Ummm no. She says "do you want a dessert?" No. The right thing to do is refund $ - not everything but something. $70 for cold crappy pizza that's been sitting for 35 min with hot sliders out on top of a cold salad is ridiculous. This reason this place is packed is because Annapolis has v little competition. Anywhere else this wouldn't fly. read more
