I've shopped at different hardware stores since moving to Rincon Valley. Village True Value has helpful staff, good selection, reasonable prices. Thanks read more

Friendly, helprul service, and large inventory. A great neighborhood asset as an alterfnative to the big box stores.

If you're looking for work don't even consider this place. On my first day there I was shown how to work the register and the safe, paid subminimal wages under the table, and then never put on the schedule to use the training. I was basically just slave labor. read more

Personal service. Real people who are consistently helpful, knowledgeable. True, they don't have everything under the sun but a lot. Go there whenever you can as we need them! Without them you get HD & Lowe's. Thank read more

I always prefer going here, but Home Depot is much closer. But I learned today that I would have spent much less time to have gone here first. Two HD employees sent me to the wrong area of the store, then once there it took took more than 30-minutes to find anyone to help me. And, the "expert" sent me home with seven of the wrong size. True Value Hardware I walked in was greeted immediately and got immediate help. Owner apologized because he didn't have a one pack and he had to sell me just two! It was the right kind and size. With the extra driving time, it still took 25-minutes less to go to True Value than the closer Home Depot. read more

Seems like a dated and smaller version of the True Value Hardware stores I've been in before. Decent selection. Employees aren't as friendly as at the nearby Ace. read more

Great hardware store, definitely recommend! Quick and easy service. Great selection as well

My favorite hardware store! (Just on the expensive side!) The staff if friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! They have so much to make my life easier and richer, even a great garden ( live plant) section! Three cheers and 4 stars!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful enterprise! read more

I really like this place. It is just down the street from my office, so it is very convenient, but also has good prices and the people are genuinely helpful! They have quality paint brushes and I took there recommendation on which one to buy (Purdy) and it is fantastic! It is the best paint brush I have ever used. They also have a pretty good inventory of random things you need. I've bought screws, cleaning supplies, light bulbs (which were a great buy and very energy efficient), and a number of other things. They have saved me from driving across town so many times. Oh, they are also supper cool with returns. I bought the wrong size screws and had opened the package, but they took it back and got me what I needed. read more

OMG! I bought a very expensive flashlight 2 years ago. The gal that worked there said it was "The Best", (so I believed her). It came with a "Lifetime Warranty ". I thought Great! We live in Kenwood area and we were evacuated for 10 days due to fires and power outages, so I thought this would be a flashlight to"Count On!" I am an older woman in my late 60's and thought , well, this should be a good investment! Well, when I needed the flashlight to work, it Didn't. I took it back to the hardware store in Montgomery Village area, and one of the employees stated, "You should definitely get a replacement, OR your money back. there is something wrong with it." The owner Fred Dada , after 5 phone calls, said," You're supposed to check the batteries regularly. They're corroded." Who does this? (The battery had corroded in less than 2 years!) He said He Would NOT replace it or give me a Refund! I WILL NEVER USE THIS HARDWARE STORE AGAIN OR REFER ANYONE HERE!! There are too many hardware stores to spend your money or time at. FRED DADA does Not Deserve to own this franchise!! THEY GET NO STARS!!! read more

I'm not sure what happened. Normally, this store has great customer service Not today. No greeting at all. No offer of assistance finding items. Cashier busy sipping on her drink. read more

Super hardworking people who believe in customer service. They had what I needed to finish my project.

If I need it, they have it. Great staff , super helpful. A pleasure to have a good hardware store nearby. David Greene read more

We just moved to the area and have been checking out retailers that we can establish a relationship and do business with. I needed a Hack saw, Drill with extra bits, a ladder and some paint. I entered this store this morning and forgot my mask. The old lady behind the counter called me on it and I went back to the car and got. I asked where the hack saw were and she barley gave me the time of day to ID where they were. I walked past the area because of that, but a young man directed me. This woman needs some additional customer training. I won't be back, but whoever owns this True Value outlet needs to inform her that her personally is costing then lost business. Margins are small in that business, thus everything has to be in order. This woman is far from that. 4257 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa, CA read more

This place is great. Super helpful with questions I have about things. Super friendly when I'm bumbling and trying to poorly explain what the issue is or what I'm looking for. And has some super cool random antique items. I got a really creepy antique baby carriage here last year that I use during Halloween. It gets lots of compliments. read more

Live these guys/gals. So helpful and friendly. I am always amazed the have everything I need on a whim--or ran out of in the middle of a project! Fair prices. if you need a smile--ask for Sam. read more

Every time I need something for home maintenance, I go to VTV Hardware and they have it! The staff is really helpful and friendly and reflects owner, Fred's kind and accommodating demeanor. Kelly particularly has good advice and is encouraging in all endeavors. And, she can match any paint color - just bring in a sliver off the wall you want to repaint, and she'll match it. I highly recommend this family owned shop. Lindsay F. read more

Very annoying to me when Yelp has closing tim later than that posted on the door. Does True Value even care? Update the damn closing time.

I love this place. They seem to have almost anything that you might need (or didn't know you needed). Granted the prices are a bit higher than the big box stores, but you are supporting a locally owned business. I always rent various tools from here as they have a great amount of inventory and offer good rates. The employees are always very helpful as well. read more

Super friendly and quick. best service I have had in a hardware store in a long time. the owner, his son and family run the place and it shows...' wish prices were a bit lower but it compares ok to the ACE down the street and the location is easy to find. read more

My go to place about every other week for a quick hit for home fix-it projects. Friendly, helpful staff. It is not the cheapest prices but sure saves a lot of mileage and time to get to the big box stores. Plus they help you on the spot! read more

This place offers great customer service, which I really appreciated.

Great little store, great people. I save a lot of time going to this place and get great advice on how to complete a project. The same thing I can get here in 5 minutes would take at least 45 minutes at a big box store (and that's IF they had someone in the department at the time). read more

They had exactly what I was looking for, and helped me find it quickly. Friendly and efficient, and they had things stocked that many other hardware stores in the area didn't carry. read more

No longer my local store. The past 3 times I've been in there, one employee either keeps her mask pulled down or wears a clear one that doesn't cover her nose. She approaches people to help without being masked. I realized yesterday that this hasn't changed so I can't go back. read more

What a great store! Everything you need wrapped up in a tight, well organized place. And the knowledgeable staff, Kelley and Kim especially, really know their stuff and answer question quickly and accurately. From nuts and bolts to detailed issues like setting up a proper sprinkler system to matching paint colors and types perfectly, their expertise is unmatched. This summer's projects have been made much more pleasurable with their help. read more

Great service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Better pricing and service than Mission Ace Hardware. Parking lot isn't the easiest to get in and out of, but not too much of a hassle. read more

Went in there today to get some paint. I spoke to the guys on the phone before coming over to see if they could blend me up a particular color from a different brand that they carry, and they were so helpful on the phone, from reassuring me about how long it would take to where exactly they are. They were great when we got there, too. Super friendly, quick and we had a nice chat during the process. Knowledgable as well. I'll definitely return read more

This is a great place for a little hardware store. Although we often need heavy-duty hardware shopping, many times we need something small and quick or occasionally need to rent something. The store has a good selection, a good rental centre, and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been going here periodically ever since it opened and have always been happy. read more

A great hardware store! Like they should be! They have the real things that you need, and the store isn't so large that you are wandering thru unstaffed aisles of crap you don't need, wrapped in overpriced wasteful packaging in short quantities. Great staff and reasonable prices. These guys are always ready to help and you never have to wait long. The owner is often times behind the counter and ready to help as quickly as the rest of his staff. read more

Extremely helpful! As soon as I entered the store, I was asked if they can help me find anything. One of the best stores I've been to of any kind. Professional, friendly and knowledgable staff who remember you and are eager to help. You can tell that the people who work there like it, and the owner is very friendly and creates a great environment for everyone (workers and customers). Returns are very easy, too and when I've rented equipment here they took the time to show me how to use it and made the rental process very easy and quick. Highest ratings all the way around! read more

Always a smile and always an honest effort to please. Usually they'll have what you need, and at a fair price After two years I find myself making much more frequent trips here than big box. Every trip expands and cements the relationship. Isn't that really the way you'd like to shop? read more

I first me the owner through his son, Marwan who runs the Montecito True Value. Fred, has been helpful, kind, and generous. He truly represents the term local business person. He offers his services in a professional manner. What I absolutely appreciate is if Fred does not have the product, he will either call one of the other shops or special order it for the customer. Not only is he professional but he is personable as well. read more
